Meeting Celes - A Solo
Alexis was scared. She was scared, tired, sore, hungry, and horribly lost. She had never been to this part of the forest before and it was getting dark. It had all started hours ago; she had been walking about, minding her own business, when she suddenly heard a loud crashing sound. She instantly panicked and hid behind a tree, but then she heard another crashing sound. The second crash was even closer and she saw a tree knocked to the ground. She had no idea what could have caused such a thing to happen, but she did not want to find out what could knock trees around like that.
After seeing the tree come crashing down, Alexis promptly fled the scene. Running as fast as her little body could take her, she was unfortunately looking behind her, keeping an eye out for whatever had caused the noise, and she ended up tripping over a rock. She flew forward through the air, her arms shielding her for an impact that never came. In her panic, she didn’t realize that she had actually been running straight for the river, whose banks she had walked along often. What she had guessed would be an impact into the ground, ended up being a splash into the river; a river that was running rather quickly thanks to recently warm weather and the melting of winter’s snow.
She wasn’t much of a swimmer, but she could sort of doggy paddle at least; it helped her stay afloat, but didn’t do much to help her make it to shore. Luckily, despite the fast current, it was a relatively smooth trip and she came across neither rocks nor rapids. She encountered many twists and turns and thrice the river forked. When she finally made it to shore, she had no idea how long she had been in the river, just that she no longer recognized her surroundings in the slightest. She was lost, but even if she knew where she was, she wouldn’t have gone back; whatever had caused that loud noise and had knocked aside the tree, could very well still be there.
She crept slowly, only leaving the cover of the bushes and logs, when there was no other choice. Scurrying along, she kept her eyes open for something to eat; her stomach had been growling. She decided to take a break; it was rather tiring, all of this scurrying through an unfamiliar land. After finding a small rock to rest upon, she spied a bush that seemed to have some berries growing in it. She wasn’t familiar with this type of berry; it was small, round, and bright red. It looked like it could be tasty, so she slowly made her way over, and grabbed one. It popped off the bush quite easily and she tossed it in her mouth. Taking a bite into it, she promptly spit it out, her eyes watering slightly. It was a very spicy berry; she couldn’t handle spicy foods. Sweet foods were her favorite, but she could handle other flavors, just not spicy. She didn’t like this place; she wanted to go home, but who knows how long that would take and that thing, it might find her.
Disheartened, she continued on her journey. Night was here and she needed a place to sleep, a place to hide. Upon reaching an opening in the trees, she noticed a house, right in the middle of a clearing. She backed up, worried, humans were generally so negative. This time though, she sensed something different; it was kind and caring. She didn’t know what was giving off those feelings, but it made her feel safe; it made her feel comfortable. Right now, after all that had happened, that was what she needed the most.
Slowly making her way to the house, she crept around the building. The backyard was fenced in, but the gate had a small hole in it, but she had a small body and it was large enough for her to squeeze through. Once on the other side of the gate, she continued heading towards the backyard, sensing that she was getting closer. Peeking around the edge of the house, Alexis saw her. Alexis didn’t know humans well, but she looked full grown, but young. Her hair was long, blonde, and wavy; it reached down to the small of her back. She had a petite figure, pale skin, and she was dressed in a loose, black skirt and a black tank top. Her back facing the house, she was sitting on the edge of the wooden deck, her bare feet on the grass, and staring up at the stars.
Alexis was surprised, she had never sensed a human like this, not that she had been around many humans; all of the few humans she had previously met though, she had been scared of. Not this one. The young Ralts slowly made her way to the girl; she wasn’t scared now, just nervous. The girl, her attention focused on the night sky, didn’t notice Alexis till she was a few feet away.
“Aww! So cute,” she exclaimed, “You are, um, you are a Ralts right?” Alexis nodded at her question and slowly made her way closer.
Leaning towards Alexis, the girl asked, concern in her voice, ‘Are you alright? Um, I don’t mean to be rude, but you look a mess. Are you hurt? Hungry? Why don’t you come inside with me?”
She nodded again and rubbed her stomach.
She reached out and picked up the little Ralts in her arms then stood up, carrying her close. “By the way, my name is Celes. Hmm, you look like an Alexis, mind if I call you Lexi?”
Alexis giggled with a grin and nodded. It was sometimes nice having psychic abilities.
Carrying her into the house, Celes set her down on the kitchen counter. “Would you like some berries Lexi? I only have sweet ones right now, I hope you like sweet things.”
Alexis absolutely loved sweet things; she happily gobbled them down when Celes set them in front of her.
After she had finished eating, Celes picked her up and said, “Now let’s get you cleaned up, then off to bed. You can share mine alright?”
Lexi happily wrapped her arms, as best she could, around Celes, her eyes just a bit teary. She was ecstatic; she was about to be cleaned up, had a comfortable place to sleep, and most importantly she safe.

Receiving a Star from Jirachi Solo It had taken her a while, but Alexis had finally made it to the top of the counter. She had pushed a small step ladder over to the bar stool and set a big cushion, from the couch, next to it. Then she climbed on top of the step ladder and slowly ascended the stool. Once she had made it to the top, she paused for a brief rest. Climbing so high up was quite strenuous. With a deep breath, she stood up and grabbed a hold of the counters edge and, with a jump, she pulled herself onto the counter. She enjoyed living with Celes, but a human’s house was not built with a small pokemon in mind. Now though, she had reached her goal. Directly in front of the hungry little pokemon lay a basket full of delicious fruit and just a little farther was something new, something that she had just tasted for the first time the previous night, something delicious and sweet, it was a cake! First though she would have lunch, then dessert. She grabbed a fruit; it was a delicious Custab Berry! It took her a few minutes to break through its tough skin, but the soft, sweet flesh underneath was more than worth the effort. She devoured it slowly, savoring the flavor. By the time she was done, all that was left was the tough skin and the smear of juice over her hands and mouth. Next it was time for her dessert. She scurried across the counter top, over to a clear plastic container. Wrapping both arms around the lid, she twisted it with all her might. It was slow to turn, but she managed to unscrew it. She then lifted it up to reveal the cakey goodness. It was a moist chocolate cake covered in a thick layer of chocolate frosting; about a third of it was already gone, but that didn’t bother her. She was rather small; the cake was almost as big as her; she wasn’t going to eat that much. Licking her lips, she grabbed a plastic cake knife and sliced off a thin piece, only 2 to 3 inches at its thickest, tops. She didn’t have anything to put it on, but that didn’t matter. With much glee, she dropped the knife and picked up the slice in both hands. It was quite heavy, but she could handle the load, if just barely. She made slow work of it; compared to her, it was gigantic. Her face seemed to almost burrow into it, bite after bite. By the time she had finished, a good 35-40 minutes had passed and her face and hands were coated in a layer of chocolate, in addition to the juice of the fruit. She felt more than full, closer to bursting; she couldn’t believe how much she had eaten. With a sigh, she laid on her back, a smile spread across her face. After a brief period of relaxation and digestion, she got up and went over to the sink. Hopping in, she used both arms to turn on the faucet and then rinsed off in the flow of water; she had become quite the mess. After finishing up and turning off the faucet, she slowly climbed her way out of the sink. Making her way to the counter’s edge, she spotted the cushion. Giving herself a brief mental count, she jumped off the edge and landed smack dab in the center of the cushion that she had set in place earlier and landed with a soft plop. Satisfied that her mission was complete, she decided to go take a nap until Celes got home. At least that was her plan until she noticed an odd sparkle outside. That look unusual, she thought, I have to go find out what’s so shiny .She crept over to the back door; luckily it was a sliding glass door and unlocked. Had it been a normal door or locked, she would have no means of opening it. She pressed her body against the door and slowly slid it open. The door now open, she hopped out and knelt into a crouch. Alexis then slowly made her way over to the sparkle, full of curiosity over what it might be. It was a star. Curious, she picked it up in her hands; it was so entrancing. Alexis began to feel sleepy as she held it in her hands. So sleepy, she yawned and started to lie down in the grass. What was happening, she thought, I wasn’t sleepy before and no one is around; no one could have made me sleep. Why am I suddenly so sleepy? That was the last thought to cross her mind as her eyes shut and she drifted to sleep in the grass.

Reaction to the Change Solo
Alexis awoke with a wide yawn. She felt like she had been asleep for ages. Rubbing her eyes, she suddenly thought, fingers? Looking at her hands, she was suddenly suite confused. She had four fingers and a thumb on each hand. This didn’t seem right, not right at all. The more she looked around, the more confused she became. Why did the bed look so big? What’s this on me? Am I wearing clothes? Lifting the covers up, she saw that one of Celes’ shirts was on her. It was big on her, but not nearly as big as it should be. Sticking out of the bottom of the shirt, were a pair of legs. Legs?! I don’t have legs! And then there is feet below that? What is going on here? I look so human.
Then it hit her. She had seen a humanlike pokemon before, two in fact. Had the same thing that had happened to them happened to her? But how could this have happened? The last thing she remembered was finding an unusual star in the backyard. She had to wonder of that was the cause. She had found the star and had suddenly become so tired. The next thing she knew, she was in bed and had arms and legs and was all humanish. Could the star of been the cause then? She wondered if it was still in the backyard. Finding out would have to wait though. First thing was first; she pulled the blanket and sheet off of her. Yep, she now has hands with fingers and legs with feet and toes. It seemed so weird. Sitting up in bed, she pulled her left foot towards her, and grabbed it with her hands. She took a closer look at it and began wiggling her toes. She then did it with her other foot. These would take some getting used to. Looking about the room, she realized that it wasn’t Celes room. It was the spare room next to it. The last she remembered, it had been empty, but now there was a bed, a dresser, and a desk with a chair. She couldn’t help but wonder how long she had been asleep.
On the chair were some clothing; a skirt, shirt, socks and underthings, all in shades of green and yellow. Well, if I am going to be humanlike, I guess I should wear human clothes. She pulled herself to the edge of the bed. Her legs dangling over the edge, she attempted to stand up. She was a bit wobbly, but she managed to. It felt different then standing before; she had less of a base to balance on. She stumbled over to the desk and steadied herself against it. First she took off Celes’ shirt and began getting dressed in the clothing that had been set out. Human clothing was a bit confusing to her. She had seen Celes wear it, but had never bothered to concern herself with how it was put on. The shirt, it had buttons. They were hidden behind cloth, so that they could not be seen when worn, but that didn’t make it easier to button them. She fumbled with them a good 20 minutes before her fingers were able to latch them shut. The skirt and socks were much easier to put on, but she had to brace herself against the wall; her balance wasn’t all there yet. The thingy for her neck…she had no idea what it was or how to put it on, she would have to have Celes help with that. There were no shoes, but that didn’t surprise her; Celes never even wore shoes in the house, so why would she leave some out in the bedroom?
She was never one to use the restroom before, though now she figured she would probably have to, but she had been in Celes’. She remembered there was a mirror inside; it could show her how she now looked. She slowly made her way around the bed and to the bathroom. The door had been left open, so she didn’t have to fiddle with the door knob. The bathroom was well lit; the sun shone in through the window. Making her way through the door, she looked up at the mirror. She couldn’t help but giggle slightly; she was cute!
All this moving about on two legs was tiring though. It would take her some time to work out the coordination and balance. She needed to sit down. Moving back into the bedroom, she plopped onto the bed. Just then there was a knock on the door. Celes called out, “Are you awake Lexi?”
Alexis, didn’t know what to do; could she answer? Tulip could talk and she didn’t really seem to be around humans. Maybe the ability to speak came about naturally; she would have to try. In a shaky voice she answered, “Y-yes.”
“I thought I heard you moving about. Can I come in?”
“U-uh, ok.”
Celes slowly pushed open the door and entered with a tray of food in her hands.
“Oh I see you found the clothes and got dressed. Pretty good for your first shot. Are you hungry?”
She hadn’t realized it till just then, but she was hungry. Her stomach growled, as if to answer for her, and with a nod, she replied, “Yes, I am.”
“I figured you would be, you were out for a few days, long enough for me to get some furniture in here and some clothing for you. It’s a good thing I hadn’t bought a bed yet, you would have already outgrown it.” She then set the tray down on the bed, next to Alexis. It had an assortment of fruit, pancakes, and a slice of chocolate cake. Lexi’s eyed widened, it looked so good!
“Think you will be up to using a fork?”
“Um, ok”
She picked it up in her hands and clumsily stabbed at the fruit. She only succeeded to knock it some off the bowl and onto the tray. This was going to be trickier then I thought. Trying again, she only managed to knock more on the tray.
Stifling a laugh and through a wide smile, Celes said, “Go on then. Use your hands. You’ve got plenty of time to learn once you regain your strength.”
At that, Lexi dropped the fork and dug in barehanded. The food was so delicious; she loved it all. Celes was right, she would have plenty of time to learn to use things like forks, but for now, she was just fine having her hands and face covered in food.

Learning Psychic
After days of practicing, Lexi finally felt like she was getting the hang of it. Well, more like a few minutes here and there, in between berry picking sessions, over the past couple of days. She couldn’t help it; she was on vacation and there was so much to see and so much to eat!
Tossing another, deliciously sweet, Pecha berry into her mouth, she happily chewed and prepared to unleash a psychic assault on the ever so dangerous foe that waited before her. It would take a lot of effort, but she knew she could take down this rock. After swallowing the berry, she inhaled deeply and closed her eyes. She then began to concentrate. As she opened up her mind, time seemed to come to a crawl. Lexi couldn’t help but smile as the sounds, which were all around her, lit up her field of vision. The leaves rustled in a deep vibrant purple, sending wave after wave across her darkened field of vision. The river flowed in a very warm yellow; it was like little stars twinkling every which way. Nature really was beautiful; the sounds were so pretty.
Unbeknownst to her, a light blue glow had begun to emanate from her body and had soon encased her. Feeling the power course through her being, she opened up her eyes, which now burned with a pale, bright blue light. Her vision focused on her nemesis, a small rounded rock a dozen feet away. With a wave of her hand, it was knocked flying. With a giggle, she scanned for another, and sent it flying as well. Rock after rock, none were a match for her. Some she merely launched into the distance, others she launched into other rocks, with enough force for them to shatter. The shattering filled her vision with beautiful red explosions; it was like a fireworks display, all for her. To an observer, she might have appeared slightly mad with power, but despite outward appearances, she was ever careful about the rocks she launched, making sure there was no living things they would hit, not even a tree.
It was so exciting, so exhilarating; she thought she could keep it up all day! At least she did until she tried to fling a smooth, rounded rock that was a bit further away. The moment that she focused her powers on that rock, her power completely dissipated. She was confused, just a moment before she had felt so powerful, but now it was all gone. Closing her eyes once again, she called back her power. As it flooded back, she opened her eyes and focused on the rock that had defied her. Just before she could send a blast to meet this most stubborn of rocks, she suddenly found herself, once more, depleted. “Aww, phooey,” she said to no one in particular and made her way to the rock; she was going to have to get a closer look at this rock!
As she neared the rock, she could see that it had two small, round holes and, down the center of them, ran a forked crack. It kind of looked like a face, a sad face. Upon reaching it, she bent down and, after a moment of examining, she carefully picked it up. Holding it in her hand, her eyes suddenly went completely white and the expression on her face went blank. For the next few minutes, Lexi just stood there, dead to the world. Suddenly, though, her eyes turned completely black and a purple haze seemed to cover her body. Then, as quickly as it had appeared, the haze vanished and her eyes returned to normal. “Wha?” she muttered, still in a daze.
As she slowly regained her senses, she began to feel a surge of emotion. She quickly looked back and forth, trying to find its source; she couldn’t see anyone else around. She then realized where it was coming from; its source was the rock in her hands. The rock, it felt sad. Lexi was suddenly very happy that her power had failed her; this rock could feel and she wouldn’t want to hurt it. The thought that one of the rocks that she had previously flung could have also had feelings filled her with dread. She hoped as deeply as she could hope that this rock was unique, that the others had felt nothing. She would never use her powers so carelessly again.
Noticing that it was starting to get late, Lexi started to head back to the cabin, with the rock in hand. She didn’t know why this rock was so sad, but she wanted to help it. Maybe, if she concentrated hard enough, she would be able to make out thoughts, as well as feelings. If she could do that, she could surely help the sad little rock. She didn’t notice it, but, as she walked back, her feet didn’t touch the ground.

Learning Magical Leaf
“Why isn’t it working Myrrh?” Lexi asked the rounded stone that had practically become a confidante, since its recent discovery. As usual, Myrrh answered her with silence. Lexi never expected the rock, that was currently resting on the ground, just to her left, to answer, but she still found talking to it comforting. It was more a way to voice her thoughts. Also, she hoped that it could hear her. It might just be a rock, but she could sense emotion emanating from it. The rock was sad and felt lost, for lack of a better word; she hoped that it might feel some comfort in being talked to.
After her recent success with learning Psychic, Alexis was trying her hand at learning Magical Leaf. She was making progress, but it was decidedly more difficult. She was going about learning this move in a very different way. Before, with Psychic, she tried using it on random rocks that lay scattered about, but then she found Myrrh. She wouldn’t risk there being another living rock, and accidently hurting it. So, to prevent this from happening, she had spent the past week constructing targets. Making the targets was both fun and scary.
On each target was a different Pokémon that she was scared of. They consisted of a variety of ghost type Pokémon and dark Pokémon. It was far from a complete collection of them; she only knew of so many, after all. They weren’t entirely realistic, she wasn’t that good of painter, but, they were painted well enough that just seeing the finished work scared her slightly. She hoped that, by using them as targets, she might get over her fears some.
Concentrating, she closed her eyes and tried to summon forth the grassy energy. The targets surrounded her; her goal was to take them all out. First, little wisps of green light appeared and then, almost immediately, disappeared, all around her. It had been like this the last few attempts; she just needed to call out more energy. She needed to stabilize the fragments of light into leaves. It was probably just her imagination, but she almost felt like Myrrh was encouraging her. That thought made her smile slightly; I can do this! she thought.
Even if it was imagined, the little bit of encouragement was all she needed. The flickers of light transform into crescent shaped leaves of light. Sensing her success, Lexi opened her eyes. With a wave of her hand, she flung forth an onslaught of leaves at her first target, a Duskull. The leaves of light pierced the cardboard target, filling it with holes like a slice of Swiss cheese. A sense of accomplishment filling her, she continued to the next target.
With a wave of her other hand, the Sableye target was cut in half by the, surprisingly sharp, green light. Next, both the Shuppet and Haunter targets were made short work of. Spinning, almost as if she was dancing, she launched even more leaves at an Absol and a Bisharp target. The leaves curved through the air and reduce both to small cut up piles. She was really getting into this now; it was fun!
Her twirl came to a halt as she punched forth, toward a Hydreigon. Leaves seemed to erupt from her fist, flying forth and through the target. Despite the helplessness of her hand crafted targets, she felt unstoppable! She had one target left, she spun towards the Mismagius and, with a twirl of her left hand, she launched one last bombardment of leaves. They spun off course and missed. Not a single one connected. “Weird,” she stated, puzzled that she had missed after so many successful hits. “I must be getting tired, too much for one day, right Myrrh?”
The rock was silent, as usual.
Despite her error at the end, she was still proud of herself. It did seem weird though. The attack shouldn’t have missed; it was like her hand purposefully guided the leaves in the wrong direction. The thought did worry her slightly, but she pushed it to the edge of her mind. Picking Myrrh up, she started to head back to the cabin, where Celes was waiting for her. Even after pushing her last attack to the outskirts of her mind, something worried her. She seemed to do well today, but that was against cardboard targets. If she was ever really attacked by a ghost, would she really be able to fight back?
