It was fun to watch how the two interacted. She was fairly sure that she would never become bored with them around. There was always something and much ado about everything.

She did not take offense when Sanqui pushed her hands away so he could show his sister. It was almost like he was trying to be the big brother even if he was only older by minutes. She smiled as she sighed contently.

"Alright then, B," she chuckled. So, A and C hadn't been all that bad. Hopefully B wouldn't be either. They picked things up quickly, which that had to have gotten from Tori. Tori spent a good deal of her time learning, she loved to learn.

She flipped the page and traced the letter on the page with their fingers, one at a time. "B is for bunny, bugs, and butter as well as other things," she smiled. "This is the letter B," she showed them how to do it in sign language. She wanted to see if they would work together again before she helped them.

The hug had caused him to sway a bit, but he was only giggling and he hugged her back happily. Belha had flailed about a bit and if Sanqui could have seen the look on his face, he would have laughed helplessly at him. Sure the snake couldn't talk, but gods his expressions were funny for a snake! 'Hehe, welcome, Ixi!' it wasn't a big deal to wanna help her out with letters when he noticed she was struggling. It was what he would do for her as her brother. Stroking her hair gently, he then pat the top of her head before he heard Tori begin to speak again. Oh yay next letter!

Letting go of Ixi's hands as Tori flipped to the next page, wanting her to be able to focus on it as much as he would. "Bunny.. bugs.. buttah... umm.." His eyes shifted from side to side as he kept thinking of other 'b' words, absently following the flow of Tori's fingers on the page. "ah buttahflies... babies!" That made him snicker a bit but he was highly amused at the moment. He was about to pick up another crayon to begin tracing the word more when she showed the sign for it. That looked.. odd.. he had seen that somewhere...

Now where... hmm... uh... oh! "It looks like an ok sign!" he giggled a bit as he tried to do it but it was hard to make it right with his chubby fingers but like that was gonna stop him! A hum left his lips as he kept trying til it looked more like mum's so he then focused on ixi to see how she understood it. And if she needed help, he'd happily show her again!

Squeezing her eyes closed with a catty grin, she instinctively ducked down a bit at the pat on her head before cheekily reaching up and ruffling Sanqui’s hair back, messing his springy curls up. Unfortunately, she was getting distracted at this point so it was a good thing their mom had interrupted with the announcement of the next letter.

Letting her hands go limp again, Ixchellia tried to hold just her pointer finger out while Mommy traced it gently over the B shape, memorising the way it was traced; A straight line up and down, then one curve out, then a bigger curve. And the small b was the same, 'cept with one little curve at the bottom. Huh.

She tried it out herself a few times, though her tracing was in a much more wobbly fashion, slower paced, jerky and it went off the lines more often than not. Her hand-eye coordination was still developing, although she could clearly see the letter in her mind’s eye.

“Ball is B, too!” she realised, voicing this discovery out loud while listening to the words that were listed by the others. Sanqui’s amusement at ‘babies’ wasn’t shared, however. Mostly because she didn’t know of any that lived nearby and had yet to meet them to see what she thought about them. Ew…bug was a B word? “Bugs are yucky” That was her two cents. “Bugs in butta!” she laughed then rolled around a little, full of energy. Sitting still for any length of time was difficult, even when doing something she liked.

Watching Tori show the sign for B, she sat up quickly and raised her hands in the air, folding her thumbs over both palms. “Twin B’s! Like me an’ Sanqui...oh-kay!” Ixi cheered, showing them proudly. No matter that one was backwards, right?

After the last letter everything seemed to flow. There was a pattern to it. Show the letter, trace the letter, name a few words that started with that letter, a bit of coloring, and sign it. They were quick to learn, just like she was. Brilliant and goofy. Goofy, she was sure they got that from their dad. It made her laugh.

She pulled them out a different coloring book and turned to the page that had the number one on it. "1," she said as she held up one finger. She hoped that they would grasp this just as quickly as they had their letters. She figured that they wouldn't have problems with 1-9, and maybe even 10 it was after that, that she was concerned about.

The more letters that were shown, the more Sanqui did his best to pay attention. Though he kinda wished she'd start with sign first before everything else, he kept mum and did as the flow dictated. Staaaare at the letter, trace it a bit, make up funny words that rhymed with it so he'd recall it better, doodle things and then practice signing it. He was frustrated on some of them, due to the fact his hands were tiny and made forming certain letters difficult, but he didn't let that stop him from trying to do it. But the whole lesson was fun, mainly cause he kept making up songs and he knew Ixi would too.

This learning thing wasn't as bad as he had feared it would be. When she brought out the next set of books, he wondered what else they would need to learn and then he saw that there was still more to learn. >>... well it'd still be fun but more? Really? XP "One! Like... one.. apple?" Tilting his head, he picked up a crayon. "One crayon?"

With the help of her mom and her brother, Ixchellia made good progress through the entire alphabet, picking things up increasingly fast with every new letter they studied. Having a pattern seemed to help her memorise everything. The toddler's young mind soaked it all up like a sponge. She was almost sad when they came to the final letter at the end of the now very crayoned pages of the book, except for the fact that there was a small song about the letters, which cheered her up greatly and seemed to make them stick in her mind even further. Learning the alphabet was easy as pie!

She was mildly confused then, when Mommy pulled out yet another new book. So there were more letters after all? How many letters did they need to make words? Looking down at the page, she got ready to stare, trace, list words...yet none of that happened. This symbol on the paper staring up at her was nothing like the other things she had seen. "What these called?" she inquired softly, poking the page with her crayon. Wondering if they could sign these things too, she looked up to watch her mother's actions as Tori held up a finger and spoke.

"One" she replied eagerly, mimicking the simple guesture. In fact, she thought, it was almost too simple.

Looking over at Sanqui, she listened to his suggestions then glanced around the room, trying to match the examples with one of her own.

"One...me?" Ixi guessed, pointing to herself. "One...Mommy, one Ki, one Belha...good thing only one Belha!" she snickered, slyly poking a finger near the tiny feathery-snake in a teasing manner.

Tori nodded her head as she giggled. They were doing great with the number one, but she didn't want to get ahead of her self and think that this would be a breeze.

"Two," she said softly as she held up two fingers. "One and one makes two." She wasn't intentionally introducing math but even if she was it was simple math. She picked up a crayon and doodled two apples onto the paper.
