Malinois took a deep breath and let it out slowly to try and calm his racing pulse but Mitsuko did him one better. At the offer to leave, Mal felt like his heart had stopped and he was suddenly just a shell of a man programmed to dance. His eyes glossed over and he pressed his lips into a thin line. He knew this was going to happen. The kitsune probably only offered to leave to be polite instead of bolting out of the dance hall. That blush on his cheeks though... Mal caught sight of it out of the corner of his eye and it jump started his mind again. Perhaps Mitsuko was just as nervous as he was? He always did seem a little shy, if not a little confused at times. The fox only somewhat understood the common tongue so maybe he took his apology wrong! As the light came back to Mal's eyes he could hear his brother's voice in the back of his head, 'Smooch it or lose it.'

The changeling's mind raced. Ren's tactics had never been the most sound advice nor the most successful, but occasionally it worked. Caught up in his thoughts, he stopped dancing again but the music was winding down anyway so it didn't seem that abnormal this time. Though they were no longer moving, Mal didn't release Mitsuko. The hope that filled him willed him not to let go. After a moment, Mal rallied his courage and moved one hand up toward Mitsuko's face and gently cupped his cheek, hoping to steer the boy's gaze back to his own. "Mitsuko, I..." He couldn't take it anymore. His heart was swelling in his chest and it felt as though a thousand butterflies were about to burst from it. Tightening his grip around the boy and without a second thought, Mal leaned in and placed his lips softly on Mitsuko's.

Silence came from the changeling, and Mitsuko suddenly felt his heart fall, shriveling in the deepest depths of his being to hide. He knew what was to come afterward, and he could feel his words leaving a bitter taste in his mouth, his throat feeling to be choking back on his own words. His mind went over the thought of what Malinois face looked like. Was he angry? Surprised? Unphased? Guilty? Did he agree with Mitsuko and was just waiting for him to leave?
The kitsune swallowed and was just about to look up to Mal when he noticed they had stopped dancing. The song was coming to an end, maybe he would be saved of the hateful words and just manage to slip out into the crowd and leave quietly without another word to the changeling. But Mal did not let go of him, and he felt the warmth of the others hand on his cheek. A chill went up the boy's spine, and his heart fluttered to life, pounding loudly in his chest once more. Mitsuko turned, his cheeks a vibrant red once more as he looked up into Mal's eyes. He felt the butterflies return in his chest as he heard the boy say his name, his breathing seeming to stop as he waited for the rest. He saw in Mal's eyes, no pity, only the truth. He felt himself being pulled closer, and the kitsune let it happen as the butterflies acted up, threatening to escape. His eyes slowly closing as he felt their lips touch gently, and he kissed back, his mind caught up in the small heat of the moment. All thoughts were gone from his mind, but the one that was the most practically forgotten, the most important:
"What would Haikimaru think?"
Mitsuko pulled himself ever so slowly closer to Mal, unconsciously trying to make the moment last. But he knew the song had ended, or would be, and people would be leaving soon. Including Mal.

Malinois almost couldn't believe Mitsuko was returning his gesture. Swept up in the moment, Mal gently pressed his lips harder on the other boy's. Even with the passion of the kiss, the corners of his mouth slowly curved upwards as the hand he'd used to tilt Mitsuko's face slid behind his neck to tangle in the boy's hair. He could taste strawberries. The room was now empty of music and the only sounds were the shuffling of feet and the workers coming in to start cleaning. Even so, Mal didn't want it to end just yet but a shout from the doorway made his eyes fly open. It was that woman his brother had told not to let him leave without a date. "Hey kids! It's time to start heading back to the dorms!" Slowly, Mal pulled back. It had been a long while since he felt truly happy like this and it was reflected in his peaceful expression. He leaned his forehead against Mitsuko's and let out a soft sigh. He'd actually done it. He'd worked up the courage to show his affection and it had rewarded him in the best way possible. It was a shame they had to go, but maybe just because the dance was over they wouldn't have to part company. Mal finally let go of Mitsuko and stepped back but held out his hand. "Can I walk you to your room?" He smiled softly.

The sudden intimacy Mitsuko felt as they did the small exchanged, no matter how small. One thing then lead to another. The boy's heart was racing in his chest and he was starting to feel slightly lightheaded. Simply to caught-up in the moment to remember how to breath as Mal's fingers twisted up into his hair, pulling them ever so closer. Mitsuko pulled himself closer, tightening his grip. A small bit of memories flashed of that morning, and the kistune felt something get caught in his throat again as if warning of tears to come. One small glitter of light fell past the boy's blushing cheeks and ran off his chin. He felt it, and his stomach twisted painfully again. He didn't want Mal to notice. Suddenly a lady called to them, and Mall pulled away. Relieved, although slightly sad that the changeling had left, Mitsuko quickly wiped his right eye quickly with his sleeve and swallowed. He had to keep it inside. No need to worry anyone with his problems. The boy felt Mal's skin against his own and he glanced up to watch the changeling sigh. Mitsuko felt bad, and looked down, gaining what little emotions shown on his surface and tucking them deeply away before returning his gaze.
Mitsuko loosened his grip instantly as Malinois took a step back. He stood there awkwardly as he bit his lip and held himself tightly as if he were going to spill apart. But he didn't, and Mal's words poured over his hard work of trying to repress this morning.
The morning before. His.. no. Haikiamru and his' dorm.. He had avoided going back there for one reason, although he did want to see his roommate, he was sure Haikimaru did not want to see him. Heck he still had his backpack and everything.
Mitsuko looked up at the boy, calm compared to his insides. He gave a disarming smile. "This one thinks that may not be good idea. That it is not." He said, trying to keep the sadness out of his voice before his smile disappeared. He took hold of Malinois's hand with his own, holding it tight and stepping closer to the changeling. He stared deeply into the other's eyes, which he realized now were just as beautiful as the face he was with. He had never took the time to take the changeling's features in, but now he felt as if he had all the time in the world. "But can I come with you?" He asked, afraid to be left again. His eyes clearly showed that, he was afraid to be alone. He couldn't go back to his dorm now, he didn't want to pain Haikimaru more with his presence.
The kitsune had a small taste of finally being happy with another like himself((humans and animals had been the only other living thing he had before-besides some demons that still lurked in Japan..- but it wasn't the same as this)) , before being hurt, and now it seemed that the kitsune was addicted.

Malinois had been looking to the woman, holding up his free hand to gesture to give them another minute and missed the lone tear that trickled down Mitsuko's cheek. When he turned back to Mitsuko, he was wiping the offending drop away and Mal's heart sunk. The other boy seemed slightly withdrawn now and it worried him that just asking to walk him home was invoking such a negative response. Slowly losing confidence, it startled him when Mitsu suddenly looked up, smiling. Mal tried to awkwardly returned the expression but it faded almost immediately when his offer was declined. He should have known better. This must have been a one time thing. No one wanted to be alone on Valentines after all, so Mal was now thinking that he'd just been used to fill some void. He tilted his head down in defeat.

The changeling was about to lower his hand when it was quickly grasped. His head shot back up to come face to face with Mitsuko as the other boy moved forward. The look on the other boy's face was full of emotion and Mal couldn't help but get swept up in it. There was a longing there that the changeling felt as well. A silent pleading to be held and to hold someone he cared about. Without much hesitation Mal nodded, resisting the urge to give Mitsu one last kiss before departing the dance hall. The kitsune just looked so helpless at that moment and what little manliness Mal had surged with the urge to protect him. Mal gave his partner a comforting smile as his face warmed with a gentle blush at being so close to Mitsuko again and his chest swelled with joy that he'd get to spend at least a little longer in this shy boy's company.

The only problem might arise with Tervuren. If his older brother was there, he'd likely have some girl in there with him and that would make things extremely awkward. Mal brought Mitsuko's hand to his lips. "Lets go, then." He turned and led the fox toward the door and out toward the dorms. Hopefully, Ren would be in the girl's room and not his... he hated his brother sometimes.

Mitsuko's eyes lit up, seeing Mal's nod, and the freshman gave him a smile as well. His smile slipped, and he looked up at Mal shyly as he saw a bit of doubt in his eyes. The changeling then took up his hand and kissed it, the kitsune blushing in response. "H-hai.."((y-yes )) He said as he was carefully lead away toward the dorms. His voice seemed winded, and oddly, he found himself staring mostly at the changeling. To get his mind away from staring he gripped Malinois's hand and looked down at their entangled fingers.
His heart fluttered with a sense of self-satisfaction. He had uncovered that the changeling hadn't hated him after all. And Mitsuko had gained another to express his feelings to, another one to show "affection" as Haikimaru had put it. His stomach ached and he tried to change the subject in his mind. He didn't know if this felt wrong or not, but it did after that horrible break up with Haikimaru. Everything had just lead to another perfectly.. But he felt as though he had made a mistake. He wasn't liking the silence between him and Mal. He had to say something, strike conversation. But he wasn't a very good people person. The kitsune bit his lip, the taste of iron coming back to mind. Flowers? The strong scent of where he had been after that had still stuck with him.
He was a fool. Childish. Stupid. And hated loosing. Be it loosing a game of tennis, or someone close to him.

Lillie stepped into the room with a smile. "Welcome to the the ballroom. Home of the cheer squad, many school dances, and a good collect of musical CD's." The princess turned to look at her boyfriend with a little glee in her eyes. "Can you dance the waltz?" She asked. That was something that she always liked a dance partner for. More than just Danny.

Yuri smiled at her, seeing the glint in her eyes as she asked if she can dance. He nodded and held out a hand to his girlfriend. "How about I show you." He said, hoping his dancing was still up to scratch.

(sorry it took so long sweatdrop )

Lillie get go of his hand and when to the closest. She moved and dug around before long music was streaming around the ballroom. She then returned to the other elf. "It's a good thing I'm ASB president." The girl joked. Offered her hand. Normally something a guy was to do. "Shall we?" She questioned.

Yuri smiled and took her hand, gently resting his free one on her waist. Once Yuri got a feel for the beat of the music, he initiated the dancing, stepping carefully so he didn't end up treading on her feet. It had been a while since he had danced, the last time was a mission that involved blending into a crowd at a formal dance for security reasons. He was taught the basics, but he learned from the job, so his dancing was slightly less amateur-ish than he thought. "ASB president? Impressive." He said, gently twirling Lillie on the spot momentarily before continuing the basic waltz routine.

Lillie was a good dancer compared to Yuri. It had been pounded into her brain since she was born. She learned how to guess her partners next movements from years of training and didn't get her feet stepped on. "You're not doing bad. Most guys don't have a clue what to do." She commented. She leaned in and gave Yuri a kiss on the check as a reward.

Yuri smiled at the kiss he recieved and just continued to dance with her. "Thank you, but from the looks of it, you'll always be the better dancer." He said happily. As he kept his conentration on the dancing, part of him wondered how well he'd do with more advanced steps, but for now he decided to keep it simple. "Well, I guess before the next school dance you'll have to teach me a few more dances. The waltz is a nice dance, but it's not the only one out there."
PostPosted: Wed Feb 16, 2011 6:54 pm

Lillie smiled. This was probably going to be close to his death wish. "Of course. There is swing dancing, the Tango, foxtrot and so so many more." She told him. A song end up changing to a new one. This was a regular slow dancing type of song. Lillie blushed. The words were beautiful. Heard this one in the car this morning.

Yuri blushed as well when the song changed. Carefully, he stepped closer to her, the hand that was on her waist moved around to her lower back. Gently swaying in time to the music, he kissed her on the cheek before resting his cheek against hers.

(hehe, haven't heard that song in ages whee )
