Actually I like the looks of the GP-02 more than Exia. GP-02 just look mean, like it'll rip you a new one if you so much as fart near it. But I think Setsuna is the superior pilot. I don't think Gato knew how to pilot mobile suits when he was 10.

Yeah, I got that. I was just saying I can't remember which one had Gato and the GP-02 in it.

I am the Gundam master. Many have tried to be my knowledge, only two have been able to equal me. Or at least get very close to equal XD
Back to the topic...
Setsuna was trained for warfare, and knew how to use various firearms, close-quarter-combat, use of explosives, infiltration, and other areas of guerrilla warfare by the time he was 10. Let's see Gato live up to that. He started piloting in Exia at 16, and finishes in 00Q when he is 22. Pretty much his entire life is warfare, and nothing else.

Hate to break it to you, but you're not a Gundam master. wink Just another otaku with internet access. Setsuna was a child soldier, but he wasn't groomed for it...he was just given a weapon and told to point and shoot. Much like Gato, who has been fighting Federation forces in space his entire life. Let's do some math, shall we? Setsuna is 16 during the events of 00, when he pilots Exia. We'll use that statistic. That's six years combat experience, by your reckoning. Gato, during his time fighting the One Year War, was 25. By the time 0083 rolls around, he's thirty. And he was trained at 17, like all Zeon pilots. That's 13 years combat experience. 13>6. Bottom line. But that's all beside the point. NO AMOUNT OF SKILL CAN MAKE YOU SURVIVE A DIRECT HIT FROM A NUCLEAR WEAPON!!!! Gagh! And you still refuse to address that...you just keep going on about Setsuna's irrelevant history. Tell me how to survive being at the epicenter of a nuclear explosion. I don't wanna hear about anything else. Well, anyway...I've pretty much just accepted the fact that you're gonna go with 00 no matter who the other opponent is, whether it makes sense or not. So have fun with that.

Hitting something extremely agile with a nuke is very difficult. Plus, he was trained in close quarters combat since before he was ten years old. He was proficient in all those areas by the time he was ten.

*facepalms* This is like talking to a wall. Once more: I don't give a s**t what Setsuna has been doing since he was ten. I don't wanna hear that again. I'm serious. Now, read carefully and try to keep up:
The blast from a nuclear device can reach relativistic speeds in some cases. That means the energy release approaches the speed of light. The speed of light. I don't need to tell you how fast that is.
Now then...Setsuna has no knowledge of Gundam Physalis, as it is from another world altogether. So he won't know a nuclear explosion's coming when Gato shoots the big gun.
He will of course try to dodge the blast, but the shockwave will be traveling too fast for him to do so. Unless he was already heading in the exact right direction, and has been for some time BEFORE Gato fired the weapon, he won't escape.
I know you're about to say that he'll just flip the trans-am switch. (********) If he does that, that still won't help him evade something that travels nearly as fast as light.
If any physical object, much less one as big as a mecha, so much as thinks about approaching relativistic speeds in these dimensions, that object will reach infinite mass and collapse into a singularity--e.g. Exia would be crushed into subatomic pulp. It ain't moving that fast. No way, no how.
Also, if Exia does somehow escape the first blast in trans-am, then Gato just has to squeeze off a second shot. The 00 Gundams are completely vulnerable and all but helpless post-trans-am. Gato wins. It's physics and quantum mechanics, not cool factor.

You keep forgetting that environment will affect how the shockwave travels. Or even if the shockwave would exist. In the vacuum of space, no shockwave. In mountainous areas, get behind the mountain. If they are fighting in the sky (can't rule that one out) if Gato misses the shot, it will keep going for quite a while.

First of all, I didn't forget s**t about the environment- it has no bearing on the shockwave. Nuclear weapons do not depend on a medium such as air to work. There will be an omni-directional shockwave, rather than a directed one. And secondly, YOU. CAN'T. OUTRUN. A. NUCLEAR. BLAST. No hiding behind mountains for you. And Gato can detonate the weapon in mid-flight if need be. It doesn't have to hit anything.

Explain how a shockwave would work without any type of medium for it to travel through.
