I registered and bought my hotel today.
This year I'm going down on Thursday. I assume they will have the Thursday afternoon registration again. If so, won't have to wait around for two or three hours Friday morning again.
Last year I stayed at the Hyatt Regency.
This year I'm staying at the
Homewood Suites by Hilton Seattle Convention Center/Pike Street
1011 Pike Street,
Seattle , WA , 98101
I mention this because if you are still shopping for a hotel through the SakuraCon web site and have more than one person it might be your best deal. Single / Double is $159 - higher than some at first glance. However parking is 'only' $25 / day (less than some) and in room internet is free. Some hotels are charging $10 per day PER LAPTOP so for me and my friend that would have added another $20 / day. They also include a full breakfast. Mon - Thursday they also give you a 'light dinner'. So for us that will only be Thursday night but what the heck. I figure breakfast will save the pair of us another $15 to $20 a day.
Well, you get the idea. When we considered what we wanted it all added up to the more expensive hotel being cheaper. smile

Hey, that just reminded me... we should all mention what names might be on our badges, so members of the guild can find us! For myself, I must say that the past couple of years, they keep forgetting to put my name on the badge (and I pre-register... yeesh). Hopefully it'll get done this year - if so, the name on my badge (aside from my real name) will be Lady Shinsei. I could use the one that I use here, but I am known more for that one since it is the username I use at any convention website I join...

Well, I got my hotel plans sorted out thanks to my awesome mom who is going to be my roomie and explore Seattle with her bf and my brother while I have a blast with you guys. I was worried before but now I'm totally psyched! All I need to do now is get the last couple of things for my sheep!Nicu cosplay, save up money and ta dah~ (^w^)/

YAY! I finally got to join this guild!! whee
I'm all pre-regged! And just finished my cosplays yesterday. My friends and I are staying at the Hilton. biggrin I can't wait!
My badge name will say Kaito, but I'll be a Team Rocket Grunt Thursday and Friday. sweatdrop lol

But yeah, compared to going rates in downtown Seattle it's not bad. Plus the place has a kitchenette / stove / fridge / sink setup so we can cook meals there. That will save more money of course. Dining out next to the convention center tends to be expensive or so-so food or both. I'll make my own so-so food for less. haha! I once stayed in a hotel that was over $300 / night even back in the early 80's down in Beverly Hills. It was very nice but not IMO worth that kind of money. Stuff like a phone next to the toilet is nice but hardly necessary. smile
