BarnOwl6-5 I don't understand why people are against gay marriage. It's their life. They're not bothering you. It's an invasion of privacy really. Just leave them alone already! They're human beings just like everyone else. Once again, it's not like they're trying to force others to do it to. stressed I support gay marriage, and I'm straight! Hmph! Same here. I'm as straight as a stick! All I saw in Prop 8 is a "You cannot marry someone of the same sex even if you are in love with them, because our religion says so! Think about what it would do the children. Then think about how horrified you would be if we found something to say on that subject!" I believe that love is love, and that Prop. 8 is pretty much dictating who people are allowed to love.

I agree, Prop 8 is good. The gays should be spared from the horrors of marriage. gonk Too bad for us, but we should try to save them from marriage, not drag them down with us.

KingJack! Come now, you guys know she believes you should only get married if you can have kids! If you can't have kids, to her, you're useless! Then Meyer should also believe that hetro couples with infertility issues should be legally required to get their marriage annulled on the basis of not being able to produce babies.

Looking at Leah, they are surely to be contempted. I was just gonna say. She makes it very clear through several childless characters (Leah and Rosalie) that her stance is that in order to archive happiness you MUST be a parent. Look at how miserable she made Rosalie act throughout the entire books because she could no longer have children. If I recall right she states on numerous occasions that she would give up everything to have a child.

Not everyone is christian and have the same religious views. What ever happened to Freedom of Religion and Right of Privacy? I totally agree with you Metheshrew. I'm a born and raised Christian, but I strongly believe that gay marriage should be legalised. When it comes to the religion side of the debate I usually mention that the MAIN THEME of the Bible is that God loves ALL of his children and that we're ALL CREATED EQUAL! Simple logic entails that that includes his gay children. Besides, it's not like you can choose your sexuality. It's no more of a choice than the color of your skin. And it's not like they're hurting anyone, so what's the issue?
