"I'm not trying to protect against your average thief. well, i'd better start at the begining. There is a dark wizards of immense power, with one of the most powerful magical weapons ever made. Proffessor McLeod is bringing me the weapon opposite that one. with it, the combined forces of myself, and McLeod should be enough to beat him. McLeod asked me to keep things quiet, but I know I can trust you. If Morgan (the evil wizard) finds out that our side has one of the weapons, he will destroy us before we get our defenses together. Do not talk to McLeod about this until I make sure that he trusts you with this too."

Zoje ran her fingers throuh her hair and sighed. "I really shouldnt be telling you this, its supposed to be for the headmasters ears only, but it seems since you fully understand what Morgan can do to our world so i see no harm in telling you. The school was not founded to teach young wizards magic. It was made to be vault. Its a machine. And your dorm, the watch tower, is the control room." She removed a long chain from around her neck. On it was a key. It was strange, the teeth almost looked like bones. "This is how you control the school. When it is inserted into its lock the whole school can be controled from your room. You can cause doors to lock themselves and become impenetrable. Cause the water in the moat to turn into molten rock. You can do anything. Theres only one problem. Headmaster Kiron died before he showed me where the key goes. If we can find where to insert it we can defend the school. We both know that it is only a matter of time before Morgan discovers what your up to."

Well, I'll search my private vault myself, but other than that you cann look around for it if you wish. I'll notify my barkeep Sven that you will be dropping by and he can let you into most doors. Be carefull of the third door on the right, I haven't gotten around to cleaning it out yet. It appears to lead down to some sort of dungeon, and the door alone had a massive amount of curses placed on it. There's no telling what you might find down there, it isn't on any of the maps of the tower."

"Hmmm yes I think Ill stay away from that particualr door. Sounds a bit frightening." Zoje had a brief flashback of Kiron exiting the old Watch Tower, his cloak smoking and his eyebrows blue, muttering something about a door..."Well let me ask you this. If you were a key hole that could control the entire school, where would you hide?"

"I'm not realy sure. I've been through most of the tower, and not seen anything resembling the key hole. I think we will have to search the whole tower from top to bottom. What was the last headmaster to need to use the key? from the look of the tower when I moved in, no one had been near it for several years."

"Hmmmmmm I believe it was Headmaster Forine. He was the" she pauses to think "16th headmaster I believe. He lived in the watch tower too. He had to use the key when the Wargels attacked." she shuttered "Such horrid viscious things. It took years to repair all the damage they did to the school."

"ok, then it seems that the first rooms to look would be the rooms that Forine used for a bedroom, an office, and a lounge.

Zoje reached behind her desk and grabbed her sword from where it was hidden under her desk. She pulled out a cloth and started polishing it. Looking at Volrath she said "It helps me think better. You know, this swords actually used to belong to Kiron. It was the sword he used to slay thw worlds greates threat before Morgan came along. I think his name was Mercedes. He would keep it hung over his desk where he could show it off to people. He never let anyone go nearer then 5 feet from it. Ive never understood why he gave it to me. Bow that I think about it the only time I ever saw him remove it was when he was telling me about the schools battle secret...."She slapped her head. "My God I am such an idiot! Behind the sword case there was this paper on the with weird writing on it. It looked like a map. When I asked him about he said he would tell me the next day. He died that night so he never got to tell me what it was. I bet the map is a map of the Watch tower. There are so many unexplored places that it would make sense to keep a map in case you got lost."

Zoje's grip on the sword tightened. She was reluctant to give away Eron, but she trusted Volrath. She slid the sword across the desk. "Here you go. Careful its extremely sharp."

Kalika knocks on the door. "Hmm, no answer" she says to herself. She brings out a piece of paper and a pencil and leaves a note for the Headmaster to find when she returns:
"Dear Headmaster, I think the student dorms are in great need of a lounge. You know, a student's lounge. I wouldn't mind making the lounge if you are too busy with recent activities...
Sooo, yeah, just let me know what you think about the student lounge.

She tapes the note to the door and walks away, smirking like the mischievous little half-elf that she is.

Volrath comes in to the headmaster's office and lays the note from Kalika on the desk. "what do you make of it professor? do you think that other students are starting to get as nervous?"

"Well, in my opinion, they are. but youy can hardly blame them. A phsycopathic murder is on the loose and heading towards are school. Wouldnt that frighten you a bit if you were a teenager?" she said placing her index fingers on her temples.

Volrath comes dashing into the office with his hair trailing smoke behind him. His robes have large gashes and singe marks all over them, and there is a clear trail of blood running down his leg. He looks around to make sure he is alone with the headmaster and blurts out. "It's hatched! I've just come from checking the catacombs. I gave it some steaks from the cafeteria, but it will need fresh meat soon. if there are any live chickens around i'd give it a couple of those. Now if you'll excuse me professor, i'm off to see Ovan." At this he pauses long enough to make sure she heard him, and then turns and heads down the hall towards the infirmary.
