Journal/Solo RP - Mysterious Glowing Shoes
The sparkling shoes were set in the middle of a table. There HAD been a pile of fabrics on it, but they were now scattered on the floor around the table, having been shoved off moments after Maggie had arrived at home. She was at the next table, holding a sheer gold fabric against a midnight blue.
"Mommaaaa," Bharani said, tugging at Maggie's arm.
"Hmm?" She was barely responsive. The little dark girl had been saying something, although Maggie wasn't sure what.
"And it's freaking me out..." she said, not taking her eyes off the slippers. Little 'Ani had come from a photo, and she was getting a weird vibe from these "shoes".
"I think they're preeettyy," Berry said, the teen (although she was older than 'Ani, she was significantly smaller, only a few inches big) playing in the fabric spread out on the table.
"Watch out," Maggie said, as she took some scissors to the blue.
"WAGGHH!" Zuki cried from another room. "SHE'S DOING IT AGAIN."
There was one thing Maggie had found she couldn't ignore, and it was Zuki's yelling (mostly because it seemed to follow the unmistakable breaking sound of...something). By the absence of any denial of guilt, Maggie could only assume the culprit was the (blissfully) silent Caissa.
She sighed. She'd get nothing done with them all here, she'd have to wait til they went out the next day.
"All right!" she cried, scooping up Berry and 'Ani. "Who wants to explore the house again? Maybe it's given us a pool!"
She clicked off the light to her work room and shut the door, not noticing the faint glow coming from the center of the room.

Growth Response Maggie's Journal: Pg. 42 Whelp.
You'd think that after this happening a couple times before, I' have learned by now. Ah well, life goes on.
I guess really I'm the most upset about is-
...
...
Hm, thought I heard something. Where was I? Hah, like I remember after all that time.
Well. So there's another little girl. Poor Zuki is feeling quite overwhelmed, I'm sure, being the only boy (although he and 'Ani compete for who's more daring, so at least she keeps him on his toes). This new little one, we're calling her Lilah, I like her (not that I dislike any of the wild bunch). She seems to have a love of fairy tales, that I share, it's quite a bit of fun to have someone that wants to hear stories at night.
Oh? The day she arrived? Well, naturally we were quite surprised. Caissa found her first...I think. But, being Caissa, she didn't feel it was necessary to tell us. She arrived in a sweet little pink dress, with a large yellow flower on the front, and when we found her, she was quite pale.
That didn't last long. After she decided it was a good place to settle down in, she was up the tree in the backyard before we could even name her! It's like her skin soaks in all the sunlight, because after an hour, she came in all golden brown (I think 'Ani was a little confused about this).
So far she seems to be falling into life with us fairly well. She doesn't let Caissa's oddities bother her, she plays a lot with 'Ani and she and Berry giggle about princess-y things.
Although 'Ani and Lilah have two completely different styles, they seem to relate on an outdoors level. They both like running and jumping and shouting. I think 'Ani is sad when Lilah just wants to read her already numerous book collection.
Tomorrow I'm bringing Lilah into my shop, to help out. I wonder how it will go...

Learning Her ABC's and 123's "Ah."
"Ah."
"Bay."
"Bay."
"Say."
"Say."
"Chey."
"Chey."
"MAGGIE!"
"Maggie!" Lilah repeated, after having already gotten into the groove of it.
The redheaded mother's eyes opened wide, and she looked innocently back at her friend, Imbri, who had apparently let herself into the house.
"Whhhaaat?"
"She doesn't need to know the SPANISH alphabet!"
"But that's the one I remember learniiiiing!" Maggie whined. How was she supposed teach something she didn't remember learning?? Imbri sighed, then felt a tug at the bottom of her dress. Her own daughter (now very grown and very pregnant), Amena.
"Oh! Amena wanted to come meet your new girl," Imbri said, remember why she was watching this train wreck unfold in the first place. Amena nodded and smiled serenely, from where she stood on the floor, only a few feet off the ground (just taller than Lilah).
The Porcelain looked at Lilah. Maybe SHE could teach Lilah? It would be good practice. Imbri shrugged.
"Whatever you want, It's better than learning from her," Imbri said and taking Maggie by the arm to lead her away before she could protest.
"But she doesn't TALK!" Maggie said, as she was led off.
"Better than learning the spanish alphabet," Imbri said firmly. "She'll get the job done, don't worry."
With the 'adults' safely gone, Amena made herself comfy on the floor (Maggie had yet to little-ize her house, so Amena couldn't get up onto the couch) and picked up the chalkboard. She wrote a flourished A and held it up to Lilah...
Who stared at it, confused. This was making less sense than Momma's letters! A moment later, she was getting the feeling of crunching and...concentration. The kind she used when reading. And...the color red.
"Apple! she cried. Because what snack was better with a good book than an crispy apple? Wait...What was that??
Amena nodded, ignoring the baffled waves coming off of Lilah and smiling. Now, what was the first part of 'apple'?
"A! A is for Apple!" Amena smiled. And Amena. She erased her A and handed the board to Lilah.
"Now Lilah copy," Amena croaked out harshly. Lilah nodded, and drew a large, shaky A, looked at it when she finished, crestfallen. It didn't look nearly as pretty as Aunt Amenas!
The mother-to-be waved reassurance at the child. It would come with practice! She took the board and chalk back, and wrote a pretty B, starting all over again, conveying the idea of "Brothers", using the Grimm brothers fairytales.
After a lengthy session getting through the alphabet, relating all the letters with reading or tales (which seemed to help Lilah get the concept of the letter quicker), Amena and Lilah moved onto numbers.
Lilah found she enjoyed this FAR better, as her teacher used candy to...err...aid in the teaching.
After they were done, Lilah ran to Maggie (who had fallen asleep in a chair), holding the board up to her. Maggie took it, reading the crudely formed letters.
Lilah is 4!

Journal/Solo RP - In the Kitchen Maggie was covered in flour, which Lilah thought was hilarious. Their original start to the afternoon hadn't been much better (when Maggie came home with daisies, or 'flower', with the intent of making a cake), and had descended into an baking mess.
Lilah had never made a cake, and her guardian decided it was time she learned a few cooking or baking skills (never mind that Maggie didn't have any of those anyway!). She had found a recipe, and started to gather the necessary ingredients, a few which were incorrect, and finally her and Lilah were in the kitchen, mixing flour and sugar and water and eggs.
Zuki had pointed out that there were boxed cake mixes in the store, but Maggie had replied that she didn't want a cake that tasted like a box, that'd just be icky! (No one tried to explain to her what a 'boxed' cake mix was)
Lilah was now stirring the bowl, occasionally licking the spoon when Maggie wasn't looking. After being covered in flour and batter, she finally cried "Ready!"
There wasn't very much batter in the bowl, when Maggie started to spoon the batter into the greased pan that they had already set up. It was going to be a very thin cake.
Lilah sat in front of the oven while it baked, and when it dinged, Maggie pulled it out of the oven (Lilah hid behind the counter when the redhead opened the oven door. Scary! Like Hansel and Gretal scary).
"Lilah!" Maggie cried, exasperated. She had just opened the jar of frosting, which was mostly gone. "Really?"
"What??" Lilah asked, putting on her 'cute' face. "Ani said we should!" She, 'Ani, Berry, Caissa, Cindy and Zuki had passed a spoon around, each eating some of the frosting.
Having anticipated it anyway, Maggie pulled down the extra frosting she had hidden away.
"You were holding out on us!" Ani yelled from the other room. "How could you??" Before the cake could cool, Lilah was spreading the new frosting over the cake and the kids were all in the room with forks.
Lilah stared at it with big eyes, before everyone dug in, then looked up at Maggie.
"I dun wan' any." She said sadly.
"Why not? You worked so hard!" Maggie said.
"....I have a tummy acccchhhheee." She finally said.

Growth Prompt:
Lilah is growing up to be a rather adorable Princess! Despite having a fairly big household, it is great the way she is adjusting. To this date, she has yet to use her powers, or to even have them happen on accident. But what happens when Lilah gets sick or generally loses control somehow, and attempts to read from one of her story books? Does a creature get out? Who escapes the pages of the book? What happens then? How do they get it back where it belongs?

Growth Prompt Response
Lilah had come straight home from the park, after having met Lily, who told her about a new princess story. Luckily for her, Maggie had a copy of 'The Frog Prince' laying around and she even helped Lilah search the small library-like room for it.
Because of all her time in the sun, the young girl fell straight asleep after they found it. Maggie carried her to bed, tucked her in, and left the book next to her.
The next morning Maggie came to check on Lilah, who was usually an early riser. When she came in, though, Lilah was still under the covers, and getting closer, she noticed an odd sort of paleish, greenish color on Lilah's face.
It was her first flu.
Maggie set to work immediately (which entailed calling Imbri, for "support") and soon had tea brewing and a lovely breakfast of chicken noodle soup. For the entire morning, Lilah rolled back and forth, thrashing in bed as the fever raged. Finally, hours later, she was well enough to sit up and reach for her book (it sitting next to her, while she could only lay there was torturous!) and opened it in her lap.
Still sick, she started reading, about a pretty princess who played with a golden toy ball. When she lost it in a well, a strange, talking frog appeared, telling her that he would help her, if she did something for him.
As she read about the frog, her eyes started to droop. Noooo! She needed to know why he could tallllk! Lilah flipped a page, trying to stay awake. As she did, she didn't notice a strange shimmering and bending of light in the corner of her room. It only lasted a moment and soon, in its place sat a little green, baffled frog. She flipped on more page, and started to doze off, when she hear a loud "RIBIT!" in the corner.
Almost fully awake, the little blond girl jumped out of bed, calling, almost yelling, "Vance!" Her frog boy friend had come back! And he ribited too!
Looking for him, she finally found the source of the sound. "Oh..." She couldn't help but be somewhat disappointed.
"Can you talk?" It croaked at her. Although it was the frong prince from the story, since she hadn't controlled him coming out of the book, it seemed as though he had lost the 'speech' ability.
"Oh," more disappointment. "Well...I've got some rat friends...and Momma doesn't mind more animals in here. I don't think." She yawned and climbed into bed. He hopped up on the bed with her and watched her as she pulled the covers around her. He seemed to flicker, which she didn't notice.
"Oh! You should have something cool, huh?" She looked next to her bed. Taking a crown from a king doll and his little cape, she put them on the frog. "That's totally cool," she said, before snuggling down.
"Goodnight Mr. Frog."

Growth Response Maggie's Journal: Pg. 42 Haven't I written on this page already? That's so weird...it seems to be blank.
Hm. Oh well.
Lilah seems to have sprouted up, almost overnight. She's altered her wardrobe and instead of a pink princess dress, she's got her skirt and vest, with a crown t-shirt. She seems happy with the change, although I'm a little sad to see the dress go. Maybe I can convince her to get a new princess dress (as she cut up the old one to make her leggings...)
She has a new pet, a frog. I'm not sure where he came from, but he seems unobtrusive, so we've let him be.
Lilah's put up her blond hair into a pretty bun. She says it looks pretty AND it's functional, for when she plays. Such a clever little girl.
She's been making lots of friends, although I'm not sure if one was real, since she was talking about some sort of land made out of candy when she met him. She could mean the candy store, but I don't think she's quite that fanciful.
We don't quite know what's in store for this age, but it ought to be fun!
