personality: Dax is quiet and introspective. He doesn't like talking to or around other foxes, though his father, Slayde, with whom he lives, and his "not-mother", Cadence, see a side of him that most others do not. Really, he's an excitable and friendly little boy, and he's just ... afraid to show it. Really, he's afraid of everything he doesn't know - he trusts his father and "not-mother" to not harm him and show him affection, but he fears those he does not know as he does not understand them. Negative emotions tend to go over his head, and the whole idea of a causal relationship does as well. If someone were to get mad at him, it's unlikely that Dax understands what he has done and why the other fox is displeased with him. This confusion leads to a very vulnerable Dax - imagine, for a second, that when someone got irritated with you, you had no idea why (to you, it was as if they were yelling at you for breathing), and you can easily see where Dax's unwillingness to trust those he does not know comes from. He reigns in his bubbliness and personality when other foxes come around, and the shyness surfaces. It's almost an instantaneous change.
It's also unlikely that Dax will ever find someone to love - he's too shy to get to know plenty of foxes, and anyone who hopes to capture Dax's heart simply /has/ to have a persistent nature, one who will come on strong but gentle, and not hesitate for even a second. Still though, as he watches his father and his "not-mother", he does, somewhere deep inside, even if he himself is not aware of it, long for a relationship rather like theirs. Though both of the aforementioned foxes love him and he loves them, he knows that their love is different.

personality: If curiosity killed the cat, it certainly doesn't kill the foxes, or else Irenka would be dead by now. Almost any question or statement is followed by this tenacious and stubborn fox asking a "Why?" with a blithely innocent look; it's honestly as though she doesn't realise how annoying that question can get after awhile. The "Why"s become more frequent the more one uses figurative language around her; Irenka tends to be more than a little, well, literal. If a fox told her they were about to explode from happiness, Irenka would want to move to the opposite side of the room, /just/ to be safe.
She tends not to get flustered much, if at all, thus earning her a "calm" status. She usually manages to keep her cool, but it can be lost (on occasion), if her repeated "Why"s are not only ignored, but sometimes rebutted with "Why not". This is one of the only things that tends to her her annoyed, and even then it takes awhile. Irenka is not much interested in other foxes, merely how they work and think; she doesn't aim to be liked by any fox - she just wants to know their inner workings.

personality: Kolga considers herself among the most plain of her siblings; she thought, from a very young age, that she would be ignored if she acted like an average kit, as she was the most plain (and therefore [/somehow/] the easiest to forget). So she steeled herself to act like her mother; to show no kindness, no friendship, nothing of any sort, so that she would be the Ice Queen, the untouchable, and maybe with this status, she would be noticed as being special to her mommy and her daddy, both of whom she adores, despite her unwillingness to show it.
Kolga acts like nothing fazes her, like nothing is important, or matters, like she sees everything as dull. She calls her mommy and daddy the far more staid 'mother and father', and when she shows her enjoyment in something, it's always merely that it benefits her in some other way; when she was little, to curl up with her mother meant only that she was cold and mother provided warmth, and so on.
Despite her nature, she can be easily swayed to do and tell everything; if she were to be asked, she would most certainly tell her mother why she acts the way she does, and if she were asked to lighten up, she might try to do so, depending on the fox who asked her. As she's grown up, the untouchable act changed from a way of being noticed to a way of protecting herself; no one really wants to mess with her, is her way of thinking, and that saves her the trouble of having to care for a fox and then having them care back. The same as when she was little, she still does acts of kindness and things she does not want to do fairly often - she's just good at thinking up excuses as to why she did them, instead of disclosing the real reason.

personality: Kiy is an enigma - no one knows him, no one even begins to know him, and thusly, he keeps to himself. However, Kiy's a pretty nice guy; he does what he can to make those he cares about more comfortable and happier - and he has a soft spot for kits. Up until late 2010, Kiy had left his tribe, the Bateau tribe, to find himself and learn about who he was - since then, he's become happier and more self-sufficient -- where before, he might have snapped, now he's content to stay quiet and watch what's happening. Kiy only does what's best for everyone, mostly keeping to himself. Whenever he's directly confronted, however, the gruff facade and snappiness comes back - because deep down, Kiy's afraid of how others will react to his new found peace and personality; part of him is afraid that if he changes, the friends that liked the old Kiy will find the new one distasteful - and, for him, that would be life shattering. More so now than was before, which is why his facade is even more necessary in his own mind.

personality: Nannette is a bit too interested in herself; she's constantly checking her body to make sure it's all there and in perfect health - however, she's so interested in making sure she's /currently/ fine that she often runs into something or hurts herself in a different way, causing her to spend more time checking herself.
When someone finally convinces her to look up, she's a sweet, albeit absent-minded, fox, that even once convinced can only look up for a few minutes before going back to herself.
She's self-absorbed, enough that she hardly notices if she's walking in circles - as long as, that is, she hasn't run into anything or hurt himself.

personality: Helumeri isn't a male, nor is he a female; he's simply Helumeri. That's the best way he can put it. The foundation of Helumeri's personality is his belief that genders are totally superfluous. He doesn't see the need to judge others on whether they are male or female and, as such, does not.
Which means /all/ genders get the benefits of Helumeri's inability to judge what 'personal space' is. In fact, the words don't exist to him. He doesn't see a problem with rubbing right up on some other fox or even pressing his face to another's. The idea that someone would have a /problem/ with snuggling or getting up close and personal is completely earth shattering to him.
However, he's very good at obeying what he's told; if you tell him to get out of your space, he will. And he won't forget it - even if, later, you tell him it's alright, he'll remember that you don't like it and won't approach you - this might go so far as him even backing up if you get too close to him.
Helumeri tries to be a good friend; he loves chatting with other foxes and absolutely loves making new acquaintances. Of course, he can be a bit overbearing at times and is also used to terrifying foxes away from him; but, what happens happens, and Helumeri does not let it get him down in the least.

personality: Verdrai seems like a nice fox. Seems. He might be - or he might not. No one knows. Sometimes it's even doubtful that even Verdrai knows what he's really like - and, to be quite honest, he's scared to. He knows that deep within him, there's a terrible, horrible anger building up, dying to be unleashed on anyone and everyone that happens to cross his path.
Some part of him wants to show this hidden anger and secret - he just doesn't know how to. He doesn't know who would still like him after he explodes or after they realise exactly how unstable he is. No one would. Why the ******** would they? So it stays hidden, amassing, getting bigger and stronger and trying not to explode outwardly.
