Nannette sighed and yawned, then immediately started wondering why she'd done that; she'd slept enough, she knew, so it was odd that she'd yawn in the middle of day like this - was she overexerting herself? Experimentally, she stopped walking so she could shake out her legs. Finding that she was no more tired than usual, she assumed it to be a fluke and kept going.
These odd forays into her own mind were odd, but not infrequent; she often boredly did this, as she had nothing else to do and no one else to inspect, so she took care of herself to the best of her ability, constantly aware of the state of her body. Since, however, she was fine, she let her mind unfocus as she aimlessly wandered; she wasn't going anywhere in particular, so it didn't bother her if she wandered in circles instead of in a straight line, or odd angles, or was somehow getting magically flipped around every 9 steps. While she was painfully aware of herself, she had no idea of her surroundings at all.
She sighed, continuing to wander around - she looked over her shoulder, then kept walking. In her current, oblivious state, she could have wandered directly into a fox and not noticed at all - perhaps even kept going after smashing into them.
This state was odd, and it was less than conducive for the good health she wished for with all her might and spent all her energy.

Mazin peered through the trees where he knew the purple vixen would soon reappear. She had bumped into him, literally, about thirty minutes ago, and has since then returned along the same path a number of times. She was due to return soon, and Mazin had finally decided on confronting her for an apology. Although he practically convinced himself of it, that wasn't his real reason for wanting to speak to the strange, unaware vixen. Her seemingly uncaring attitude towards him was perplexing. The fact that he even cared was perplexing.
Mazin, though deep down he knew it was a terrible habit, didn't think much of others. Not that he met very many anyways, maybe one or two that he actually remembered the names of. This purple vixen had him thinking, though. 'Probably because I want an apology,' he thought, trying to convince himself. It was more than likely due to her complete indifference towards him. She clearly hadn't noticed when they ran into each other, or when he called out to her immediatly afterwards.
It angered him at first. He didn't like being ignored. After she disappeared from view for the first time he stopped worrying about it; when was he going to see her again anyways? Then, of course, she returned and returned and returned. Though he didn't call out to her again, she still ignored his presence.
Now, Mazin stood directly where she was sure to pass again when she finally appeared. He waited until she was near, then moved to make sure that he ran into her. He succeeded, but hadn't meant to send the two of them tumbling to the ground.

Nannette had been, in a way, vaguely aware that she'd bumped into ... something the first time, but it hadn't been anything she felt needed her attention, and she certainly hadn't even conceived of the notion of it being a fox and had promptly returned to her previous state. When she'd charged into it again, she'd assumed it to be nothing more than what she'd hit last time (so she /was/ wandering in circles then?) and would have kept going had it not been for the fact that she tumbled over whatever she'd tripped on.
Her eyes snapped alert and she glanced, well, below her, to see what had happened and what she'd fallen over, leaving her more than a little surprised there was a breathing, living fox there.
She moved off of him as quickly as possibly, partly embarrassed, partly concerned, and partly worried. "Are you alright?"
There was a pause as she tried to remember what was logical and acceptable to say after just running into another fox so hard and so uncaringly that both foxes tumbled to the ground; and if he /was/ the fox that she'd possibly bumped into before (if she /was/ wandering in a circle), then she'd ignored him then, and that was ... rude? Yes, rude, that was right.
"... Sorry!" There it was, that was right. "Sorry, too, if I ignored you.. before," She paused, looking away a little, still embarrassed, "ah, well... this."
She flexed her paws a little, testing to make sure she was alright, and then did a quick run-through of her body before looking back up at him, giving him a mostly pointless, but hopefully sweet, smile.

Mazin stood back up as quickly as he could once he felt the vixen move away from him. He wasn't injured at all, though inside he felt strange; bad, maybe, since he had meant to run into her and here she was apologizing. And on top of that he had knocked her down. 'Well I didn't plan that,' Mazin thought to himself, in the hopes that he would feel a little better. It didn't work.
"I'm not hurt," Mazin answered after a few moments of silence. He had almost forgotten that she asked him a question in the first place. "And... You don't need to apologize, it was my fault..." He decided against mentioning that their first run-in was caused by her. Mazin didn't need to feel worse about the situation. He wasn't used to feeling anything about others at all.
"What about you, then?" Mazin hadn't meant for the question to sound as rude as it did. "Sorry... Are you injured?" The smile offered by the purple vixen surprised Mazin, and made him feel terrible for being so rude. "Sorry," he repeated, not knowing what else to say, but wanting to say something.

Nannette was pleased to hear that he hadn't been hurt, and her tail flicked slightly to show it. "Oh, you're not? That's wonderful...!"
She still felt guilty on her own part, and she shifted, wriggling slightly as she thought. "No, it's my fault... If I'd been paying attention, I wouldn't have ran into you... But at least we're both okay!"
She looked up at him, blinking twice as he asked her the same question twice; it hadn't mattered to her the first time that the question had been worded 'rudely' or not, it hadn't even began to faze her, and she tilted her head.
Nannette tried to check her body as quickly as possible, but it still took a few seconds. "No, I'm alright." She smiled up at him again, shifting her body slightly.
She, just like him, wanted to say something but had no idea what to - it took a moment before she blurted, seemingly in a hurry to get the words out, "I'm Nannette, nice to meet you, sorry about knocking you over."

Needless to say, Mazin was relieved to hear and see that the purple vixen in front of him wasn't hurt in any way. The sigh following said emotion surprised him, and he quickly covered it up by faking a yawn. His mind pondered this new found feeling as the purple vixen continued to speak. Mazin almost forgot to listen to her.
He remembered to tune back in just as she was introducing herself. "Again, it isn't your fault," he responded almost immediatly. "But it's nice to meet you, as well... Nannette."
Mazin mentally shook himself, trying to return to his normal self. A few deep breaths later he decided to flash her a smile of his own. "I'm Mazin," he introduced himself, attempting to act as he normally did.

"Oh, okay..." Her face twitched into a frown - it /was/ her fault, but she wasn't so oblivious as to not realise they were getting nowhere. "If you're sure..."
She sighed softly, shifting around a bit as she watched him. "That's a nice name - Mazin." She said it herself, weighing it on her tongue.
If she noticed his appearance, she didn't give any hints as to whether or not she liked it or what she thought of it at all. She flashed a bright smile of her own, stepping closer.
"What are you doing here?" She looked around quickly, "This is a pretty lonely forest," she laughed softly.
Nannette sighed quietly, looking around slower, almost returning to her dreamy state, but shook her head firmly and visibly, returning her bright smile to him.

Mazin stared in silence at the vixen for a few moments as she spoke. Judging by her changing expressions, she seemed to lose her train of thought quickly. At her question, he glanced around the forest as well. He hadn't noticed before, but she was indeed the only fox he had seen this entire time. "I was on my way to a nearby lake," he replied. It had been the truth, until he was distracted by waiting for her. "It's not too far from here," he said, nodding down the path he should have travelled a while ago.
"I could ask you the same question, though," he said. "What brought you here? And... do you always wander around in giant circles?" Mazin was aware his second question may have sounded a little strange, but it's what she had been doing and he was curious.
