WISHFUL THINKING I ' M A B O U T T O G O I N S A N E H E R E Xai still couldn't believe it. Evari had...behaved? Why did she never behave for Xai?! It wasn't fair! Faris must have had some naturally calming presence about herself or something. Gaaaaaah! Why couldn't she have a good little child like Luis did? Xai glanced down at the happy glowing girl who was skipping alongside her singing a song she was making up on the spot about what a good time she had, grinning up at Xai every now and then before turning her gaze back to where she was going. Didn't want to walk into anything! The alien sighed and smiled, shaking her head and looking at the statue she was carrying. Then again, at least Evari wasn't like Switch's other child; the thought of Evari with a literally sharp tongue and sharp teeth was a terrifying nightmare of a notion.
"Sooooo why ya gots a broked statue?" Evari finally asked once they were in the house. She hadn't bothered to ask before then because she was far too excited by her day with Faris and the 'sitter, but now that she was done telling Xai every single thing they did in great detail she wanted to know what was up with this weird statue. It looked like an animal! But it had no head! Why did it have no head?! Xai shrugged, walking into the kitchen with the statue in her arms and putting it down on the table.
...Wait a second...something was off...
Xai was about to answer Evari's question but instead she looked all around the kitchen, her eyes narrowed with suspicion. Where was Nutter? Normally he started spazzing out the moment the door was opened. Especially after being left alone all day. Evari saw the look on Xai's face and blinked, also looking around for Nutter. "Nuuuutter?" Evari called, wandering around the kitchen. Wheeeere oh where could Nuuuutter be? The two of them paused and just listened when they heard a strange noise. Clinking...things moving around...something eating and making happily obnoxious noises? The two blue-haired girls shared a look and then immediately honed in on the fridge. Oh dear god...please don't let him be in there. Xai gulped and slowly walked to the fridge before suddenly throwing it open.
Nutter, who had been enjoying himself his third apple, gave an ear-piercing screech and stared at Xai with its one huge eye. Xai let go of the door to cover her ears, groaning and watching as it bolted away from the scene of the crime and out of the kitchen, screaming still. "IDIDN'TDOITITWASN'TMEITWASFREAKYGLOWYGIRLIDIDN'TDOIT." It shrieked on its way out the door. Evari doubled over laughing for a moment, and then chased after Nutter. This left Xai alone in the kitchen, dropping her hands at her sides and giving a long sigh and walking back up to the table. She put her hand on the broken deer statue and tilted her head.
"You look like you'd be a nice little kid. Deer are supposed to be gentle, right?" Xai pouted and looked out the kitchen doorway. She loved Evari but...sometimes she just wished she'd have a calmer child who behaved better. A shame that would probably never happen. She pat the statue's back. "Oh well. Wishful thinking." Guess she'd just go get some things to start fixing the statue with so she could return it to Switch! Xai's hand dropped away from the statue and she walked out of the room, leaving the statue alone on the kitchen table while she got her tools.

...ANOTHER CHILD! . . . O H D E E R . . . Little did Xai know that the moment she left the kitchen the color in the statue began to fade away and it pulsed with life. It only took her a few minutes to get the things she needed, returning with a happy little hum and looking forward to being able to fix the statue as she walked back into the kitchen.
She immediately stopped dead in her tracks.
On the table was a lifeless statue, void of all its pretty colors, but not only was there a statue but now there was...a child. A little girl with blonde hair, antlers, and a body very similar to the little deer statue that she was about to give a head. The two of them stared at each other in shocked silence for a good few minutes, the little girl's dark blue eyes as wide as the alien woman's bright blue and pink eyes. Okay, Xai. Get a handle on yourself. What was the situation? You and Luis were at the Curio shop visiting Switch, you ate food, you chatted, you had a good time...and...Switch baited you into taking something home...and now there was a little girl on your table...
...Oh...oh dear...no! No! Not again! Not another! Why had Switch allowed her to take that statue? Did she know?!
While Xai was busy having her mental freak out the little blonde girl tilted her head, her ears flicking and watching her. She wasn't doing anything yet; no shrieking, no screaming, no yelling, nothing too crazy. In fact the little girl was just sitting calmly, serene. Her little deer legs were folded underneath her body and her hands were primly set on her furry legs, just watching the lady for now. Was something wrong? She looked horrified. Oh goodness, was it something she did? But she hadn't done anything yet! Xai eventually came to her senses and gulped, hesitantly walking up to the table. The girl's ears perked up as she came closer, a smile spreading over her lips. Yay! She was coming over here!
"Um...hello..." Xai started lamely, putting a box on the table. The two had another staring contest before the other piped up.
"Hello~." She said calmly and softly. Xai had braced herself the moment she saw her lips moving to talk, but was very pleasantly surprised by what she heard. All this time with Evari Xai had grown accustomed to loud children that often yelled, cried or threw fits, so to hear a voice to soft greet her in her own home...well it was like a dream come true. "Are you my mommy?" Mommy? Xai had never been called Mommy before. Her eyes widened with surprise and she gasped, a hand resting lightly against her chest. She really called her Mommy! And...and even if she wasn't...well, since this little girl seemed to think she was then she would gladly be if it meant she could finally have a calm little girl!
"Um...I...I guess I am!" If it was the same as when Evari had came into her life from the Curio shop then it must be similar now too! The little deer girl's face lit up with pure delight as she held her arms out for a hug which Xai happily gave her, hugging the little deer girl sitting on her table. This girl! She was so calm! So quiet! And so adorable too! Ohhh she was so happy now, she'd have to go thank Switch later for convincing her to bring the statue home! She was about to ask her what her name was or if she even had one but was interrupted by a shriek of terror. Xai knew this shriek. It was Nutter...and it was coming closer. She could feel the little deer girl tense up in her arms, looking to see her ears were perked up high and her eyes were wide as saucers. She was frozen...with...fear?
"OHNOOHNOGETTHEFREAKYGIRLAWAYFROMMESHEHASPAINTGETHERAWAYAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Screeched Nutter as he flew into the kitchen, hiding behind Xai's head and being quickly followed by Evari. Evari was...covered in green paint, grinning hugely and staring up at Nutter. But wait! Something was different here! Her grin shrank a little as she stared at the terrified little fawn in Xai's arms, blinking and tilting her head.
"...Who're you?" Evari asked with a bit of confusion. Why was Xai holding another child? In their house? Why was this child clinging back to Xai and staring at her with a look of horror? Her eyes narrowed and she clenched her fists, her mouth turning down into a firm frown. Who was this girl and why was she taking all of Xai's attention? Xai blinked, carefully picking up the little fawn and setting her down on the floor. The girl gasped and immediately skittered back and behind Xai's legs. This girl was scary! "Who. Are. You?" She asked again, growling like a kitten whose territory was being invated. Whoa...where was this coming from?
"She is your new sister." Xai answered for the frightened girl behind her, reaching down to pat her head between her antlers with a warm smile on her face. Poor thing was so scared she was shaking! Evari's narrowed eyes widened and she just stared. Sister? She didn't need a sister! She didn't want a sister! No! No, this wasn't cool! She never said Xai could bring home another kid to take all her attention away from Evari! This wasn't allowed! She stomped her foot on the ground.
"No she isn't!" Evari cried, causing the girl to gasp and hide her face against Xai's leg. This seemed to make Evari angrier, her dull red glow brightening considerably as she growled again. She didn't know who that girl was...but...but she wanted her gone! "I don't want a sister!" The little fawn girl shivered and clung tighter to Xai, frowning.
"I-I-I'm sor--"
"GO AWAY!" The girl shut up instantly and hid again, shaking with fear. This girl was scary! Why was she being so mean?! She hadn't done anything to this strange glowing girl! Xai frowned now, getting down on her knees to coo at the blonde and pet her hair, turning a very disappointed gaze at Evari. Meanwhile the little fawn whimpered and hugged Xai tightly, closing her eyes and hiding her face in the woman's shoulder. This lady was nice! She liked her! But that other girl was so mean! Evari blinked and took a step back, a hand clutching at her shirt over her heart and her eyes welling up with tears. Wh-why was Xai looking at her like that? Why was she coddling that whining little thing stealing her Xai away?! This...this wasn't fair! "Y...yo-you're just...no! Go away! She's mine! She was mine first!"
"Evari." Xai frowned. Evari gasped and clammed up. Xai had never taken that tone with her! "Stop that. You're scaring her. Now apologize." Wh-what? Why was Xai taking that girl's side?! It was so obvious what she was doing! No! No this wasn't fair! Evari sniffled and whimpered, wiping at her eyes with her sleeve.
"NO!" She screamed, running out of the kitchen. The two of them jumped when they heard the front door slam and Xai sighed, petting the girl's hair still.
"I'm so sorry about that, sweetie...she's not usually...that bad, I promise...w-would you like something to eat?" She asked the frightened child. The girl whimpered and stared up at Xai with big blue eyes and Xai's heart just about melted. She was so adorable! How could Evari be so cruel?! "Come on, I'll make you a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. They're very good! And then...hm...you'll need a name...I cannot call you nothing."
"O-o-okay." The girl hiccupped, holding onto the bottom of Xai's dress and following her to the counter. Nutter blinked its one eye and drifted down from Xai's head to stare at the frightened little girl, flashing her a big toothy grin.
"Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii~!" The girl gasped and jumped back, Xai merely chuckled.
"He's a lot nicer than Evari."
"...O...kay..." So it was just the glowing girl who was mean. Okay, so maybe this wouldn't be so bad...she...she could tolerate the other girl. Maybe with some fresh air she'd come back in better spirits. The girl looked back at the kitchen's entrance and swallowed hard, shaking a little as she looked up to see what Xai was doing to just watch her and get her mind off the terrible thing that just happened.

I FORGIVE YOU Y O U ' R E N O T S O B A D Evari didn't come back for quite awhile after she left, leaving Tyyne to pace around in the living room. Where had Evari gone? The girl was mean, and she was cruel, and she was crazy but...but that girl was still her sister. A mean sister, but a sister nonetheless. After about an hour she gave up and went back to her room, carefully climbing onto her bed with a sigh. Xai had said she would look into a more sensible bed for Tyyne, but until then she was stuck with this. She pulled her blanket up over her shoulders and curled up underneath it with her legs tucked underneath her and her blanket pulled under her chin. She didn't know how long she was asleep but the sound of her door closing woke her. Tyyne gasped and sat up sharply, her eyes wide and her ears perked up high. Huh?! What?! She sniffed. Something...smelled really nice. Tyyne blinked and turned her head to find the source of the pretty scent, gasping softly when she spotted a small potted hyacinth and a note. Wait...a note? She picked it up, furrowing her brow a little. I'm...sorry? She knew this paper. This was...Evari's? Tyyne looked from the note to the flower, awestruck. Evari had gone out and gotten her flowers? Tyyne pushed away the blanket and carefully climbed out of the bed, picking up the little pot in both hands, a big smile on her lips. Wow, so Evari could do things like this? She had no idea! Wow...
Tyyne's ears flicked a few times and she couldn't help but giggle, brushing her fingers over the petals. So pretty. And so thoughtful! Wow. She was just amazed. Holding the pot carefully in one hand, Tyyne opened her bedroom door and made her way down the hall to the living room where she heard the television was on. If it was on then Evari must have been there...and so she was! Slouched on the couch with Ted sitting on an empty cushion beside her. Tyyne, still smiling, cautiously stepped closer to her sister. Evari blinked and looked up when she heard the tiny tapping of her hooves against the floor, spotting the flower and note in Tyyne's hands and trying her best to look indifferent. "Thank you, Evari." She said softly, still smiling. A tiny smile quirked up on Evari's lips and she shrugged, looking away and trying to hide the blush on her cheeks. She hugged her knees to her chest and put her chin on her knees and letting her hair fall in a way that covered her face on that side. Tyyne blinked. Was Evari...embarrassed? She heard her mumble something, her ears flicking. What was that? "Um...I'm sorry, I...didn't get that..."
"I said you're welcome." Evari repeated herself, turning her head enough to peek at Tyyne around her hair. The little deer was smiling and walking closer to her. Her first instinct was to make her go away but...but she had to get better, right? She looked down at Ted who was sitting on the couch beside her, picking him up and putting him on the coffee table, Evari pat the seat beside her. Tyyne gasped. Evari was inviting her to sit with her?! No way! Really? That was new! She giggled softly and hurried over to the couch, putting the note and the flower on the table beside Ted and getting onto the couch...Evari even reached out and helped her up! Whoa! Tyyne sat down on the couch beside Evari and just stared, her eyes wide and blinking. Evari frowned and shied away from the strange look she was getting. "...What?"
"So...you...you don't hate me anymore?" Tyyne asked excitedly, her little tail wagging and her ears perked up high. Evari blinked. Did she hate Tyyne? Well! She didn't...like her but...meh. Did she have any other choice? Evari shrugged.
"I guess." That sounded like the best Tyyne was going to get, so she wouldn't press the matter anymore in case she forced them back to square one all over again. She looked positively elated, Evari blinked. "Um...do you want something?" She'd given her an apology and flowers! What more did this chick want?!
Tyyne blushed and lifted her hands just under her chin, poking the tips of her index fingers together and staring down intently at them. "Can I um...may I have a hug?" Ugh, really? Evari chuckled and played with a bit of her blue hair. She wanted a hug? Seriously? Eh...might as well. She shrugged.
"Suuuuure?" She answered with a little amusement. Tyyne giggled and threw her arms around Evari in a tight hug, making her sister just about fall over. It took a few moments but Evari did return the hug, patting Tyyne's back and putting her head on Tyyne's shoulder. Sigh. Guess she'd have to get used to this whole...sibling thing. At least Tyyne was happy, she wasn't crying or pouting anymore.

DEAR DIARY S O M E S T U F F H A P P E N E D Dear Diary,
It's been a long time since I had that bad dream with the garden attacking me, and I feel better. Mommy has been teaching me how to write! So that you can actually read and understand what I'm writing and not a jumble of misspelled words with ugly scribbles everywhere to cover up mistakes. I like my diary, it's very pretty. I don't want to make a mess of it. I met a really cute little boy a couple days ago! His name is Vance and he dresses like a frog. And his hands are STICKY! He's really sweet, and he likes playing games with me. We met at a store Mommy took me to for...bonding? I'm not quite sure how we can bond in a store like that but that's OK, she got to talk to Vance's daddy and I got to play with Vance. Him and his daddy even came to our house so I got to play with him even more and we didn't have to worry about getting lost or taken! He and Mommy got along really well. Maybe that means I can see him again if he and mommy keep being friends? It's a good thing she brought me and not Evari! Evari would have made him cry. Oh no! That was a awful thing to write I can't say that! Aw, man. Now I've crossed out a LOT on this page! I tried to make it as neat as I could though, but...but...I should've just not written that at all.
Tyyne sighed, staring at the page. She didn't want to look at this anymore! She'd ruined it, and now she was paranoid if she kept going on this page she would ruin it even more! So she turned the page and continued from there.
I hope Evari doesn't snoop. She'd get really mad if she knew I said something like that. But it could have worse! I could have called her a really really really mean word like Quint did! I thought he was a little nice because he wasn't being mean to be, but he talks really rude! He uses all these mean and gross words that he shouldn't be using and he doesn't care at all! And he has these really big and scary teeth like the shark in a movie Evari made me watch with her. It's called Jaws. It was so scary! I wonder if he's seen it?
He said he told his brother what to do and stuff, and that because he doesn't...because he isn't...er...his brother just listens to him and does it. Yeah. He gives a threat and chases him off. That's so mean! I could never threaten or hurt Evari! She may be mean sometimes and very crazy but I could never hurt her! She's still my sister! But I don't really like that she's so bossy and mean to me. I wish I could tell her to stop, but I'm scared what would happen if I did. Would I even ever be able to tell her to stop? I don't think ANYONE can tell her what to do. Sometimes she doesn't even listen to Mommy! She doesn't even call her Mommy, I'm the only one who does. I wonder if that makes her sad? I don't know why Evari doesn't call her Mommy, isn't Xai her mom? She was hers first too...and she made such a big deal when I came, you would think she would try to make me look bad in front of Mommy. But she never does. Maybe that nice boy who brought her home that day has something to do with it. I should thank him for making my sister happy! But I don't know who he is or where he's from, and something tells me Evari wouldn't tell me if I asked about one of her friends. I'll...I'll just go find him on my own! I remember what he looks like so it shouldn't be hard, right? I'll just ask around! Or something. Maybe I could ask Mommy. If he's Evari's friend then Mommy must know who he is.
But I really should thank him! It might be because of him that Evari isn't as mean to me as she was before. She even bought me a really pretty flower and wrote a note saying she was sorry. And she takes me places and she plays with me now. It's a lot of fun sometimes! Except when she does things like try to get into a haunted house and make Deimos scared. And when she calls him a girl...that wasn't very fun. He's a boy! He said so! I don't understand why she doesn't believe him. But then she made up for it! She SAVED me! There was this really strange boy trying to kidnap us and he kept calling us princesses, and she protected me the whole time and didn't let me go until she hit him and he pushed her away telling her to leave! I thought she really would leave and not come back, but she stayed and called herself my knight! Maybe Evari's not so bad?

IT CAN'T DIE! I T ' S T O O I M P O R T A N T Tyyne awoke that morning to a horrifying discovery; her hyacinth was beginning to wilt. She gasped and scrambled awkwardly and hurriedly off the bed, panicked and worried for her flower. No! Not the hyacinth! Evari had gotten that just for her and apologized with it, it couldn't die! If it died would Evari's favor towards her die with it? And it was so special to her; it was the first nice thing Evari had ever done for her. She just couldn't let it die. No! The little deer whimpered and ran to the kitchen to get a small glass of water, hurrying back and carefully pouring it into the pot. It didn't seem to help. Her breath quickened, looking ready to cry at any moment. "N-no...you can't die. Don't die!" Tyyne whimpered again and reached up to very lightly brush her fingers along the petals of the flowers, bowing her head. No, it couldn't die. Not her hyacinths. Evari had been walking by with a juicebox when she heard the whimpering and the sad pleading in Tyyne's room, blinking and poking her head in to see what was up with Tyyne. Whoa! She looked so upset! What happened?! Evari's first instinct was to look around in an 'I DIDN'T DO IT!' manner, pushing the door open a little more and cautiously walking into the room. Evari had never seen her like this; she didn't know what she'd be like! And if she snuck up on her too much it kind of looked like those legs could give a powerful and painful kick.
"What's up, Tyyney?" Evari asked around the straw of her juicebox, following her gaze along her sister's arm to find the hyacinth she'd given her was the problem. Oh, it was wilting. Well...that's what flowers did. They wilt and die. Did Tyyne not know that or something? Before she could say anything else Tyyne broke down into a soft sob, her hands on her face as she tried to cover it up.
"Th-the flower you g-g-gave me is dying!" Tyyne whined, wiping at her eyes and hiccupping. Evari was...confused. Yes, the flower was dying. So what? It was just a flower. She didn't seem to understand just how special it was to her sister that it not die. "And wat-water is-isn't helping! I do-don-don't know what to do!" She turned to look sadly at her sister, pursing her lips as she tried not to cry anymore. Evari wasn't bothered by this?! Did...did she not care about the flowers? But how could that be? Evari had been the one to pick them out and buy them special just for her! Tyyne looked at the flower again, tugging anxiously at a lock of her hair. Her ears were drooped low on either side of her head and her feet shifted uncomfortably, staring at her dying flower with a look of helplessness. Was there nothing she could do for it?
Now this wasn't something Evari would ever admit, not even to Faris or Kay, but...seeing her little sister like this was upsetting to her. Not in a 'this is so annoying' way, she honestly felt...bad. Tyyne was a very gentle creature, and she never made anyone mad, she was sad over a flower. A dumb flower that was due to die because that's how it worked. She had to make her stop crying somehow. Evari sighed and looked around, leaving the room for a minute. That made Tyyne feel a little worse. She'd upset her sister! She was mad at her now and wanted nothing to do with her! But to her surprise Evari came back a couple minutes later with a fresh juicebox from the fridge, holding it out for Tyyne to take. The deer blinked and took the juice; the straw had even already been poked through! She sipped at it, bewildered. Why did Evari get her juice? Evari finished her own juice and crumpled up the carton, keeping it in her fist for now so she didn't make a mess of Tyyne's very neat room. It was the complete opposite of her room! Evari's was messy and covered with clothes she had just thrown about, because whenever she undressed she tended to just leave the clothes where they dropped with the intention of picking them up later. That usually didn't happen until laundry day. Tyyne hiccupped a few times as she drank the juice, blinking and looking up when Evari gently put an arm around her shoulders and guided her back to her bed, helping her up to sit next to her. Tyyne blinked, looking very confused but folding her legs up underneath her and tentatively putting her head on her sister's shoulder anyway. Evari...didn't push her off? She didn't make a face, shove her, say something rude and order her to get away? This was...odd. "Now, why ya upset, Tin-tin?"
"What...?" So...she really didn't think anything of it? Tyyne frowned again. "The flower you gave me is dying..." Evari blinked. That really was all? She chuckled and turned her eyes up to the ceiling, mouthing a little 'you gotta be kidding' to herself before draping an arm across her little sister's shoulders and...er...somehow...putting her head against hers. It was kind of hard with antlers in the way, and her hair was kind of getting stuck to them in her attempts to be affectionate to her sister. Stupid antlers! You were ruining the moment! "I-if it dies then...then you'll be all mean aga-again! A-and I do-don't want you to hate me because the flower died!" Evari's eyes widened at the confession, sitting up a little to stare incredulously at her sister. Seriously?! Tyyne ducked her head a little to hide her embarrassment, realizing how silly she sounded when the words came out. That was dumb. Evari wouldn't hate her because a flower died. "Well...it's the first nice thing you ever did for me..."
...Oh...that...okay, that made a little more sense. Evari frowned now, playing with a bit of the blonde's hair and looking at the flower. It was a sentimental thing. Okay. Now she could cry, before it didn't make any freakin' sense to Evari. Some people liked to keep things for the memory behind them! Right, right...she still had that mushroom from Faris sitting on her nightstand beside her bed. Guess that was like the flower, only it was a fake mushroom that wouldn't wilt and die. "Then I'll get ya new flowers. Prettier ones." She shrugged like it was no big deal, watching Tyyne in the corner of her eye. Her ears had perked and her eyes widened, looking up at her sister with utter disbelief. Evari wanted...to get her more flowers? That's really what she said? Wow! Really? She...she didn't think Evari could be so nice! She smiled, sipping at her juice some more. Evari's skin glowed a little more vibrantly, apparently happy to see she'd cheered up her sister. How strange, she didn't even like this girl but...making her happy had made Evari happy. She was trying really hard not to smile too but apparently it was infectious, she grinned despite herself and scratched at her cheek, playfully pinching one of Tyyne's cheeks. The girl gave a little cry of protest and shied away from the hand, hiding her face against her sister's shoulder. Evari laughed and turned her head to carefully place it on top of Tyyne's between her antlers. "No more cryin' now. I'll get some pretty flowers tomorrow're something...I dunno what, but I'll get something." Tyyne nodded her head, trying not to hit or jab Evari's head with her antlers.
"Thank you, Evari." Evari grinned again.
"No problem, deerbutt." Tyyne's cheeks puffed at the new nickname and Evari laughed again, giving her shoulders an affectionate squeeze.

FLOWERS FOR TYYNE A N D T H E B E S T G A R D E N E R E V E R ? She'd done it. She'd really done it. Tyyne had had her doubts but when she woke up this morning she found a large vase sitting on the nightstand beside her bed. There were all kinds of different colors and flowers of different types in a large bouquet. Whoa! This was incredible! There was also a small paper beside the vase which she picked up quickly, looking it over and smiling. It was a list of the different flowers she had just received. Gardenias, Irises, yellow, white and red Jasmine, pink lilacs...they were so pretty! She keened happily and leaned over to sniff at the flowers, her eyes wide and her ears perked high. Wow! These were from her sister! Her older sister! Evari really did get her flowers she thought were prettier than the wilting hyacinth, but the wilting hyacinth was still incredibly special to her. Tyyne climbed awkwardly off her bed, nearly tripping up when one of her feet got caught in the sheets, but managing to catch herself before she hit the floor. She turned back to the flowers to admire them with a warm smile, putting a hand on the little table as she leaned in close. Her fingers brushed against something on the other side of the vase she couldn't see from the bed, tilting her head a little to look down at packets of...seeds? They had the pictures of these flowers on them! And some of them were even different! These were for her to grow? Probably in the back yard, it was a little barren out there...perhaps some flowers would spruce it right up.
Tyyne gathered up the seeds and sniffed the flowers one more time, picking up the paper with the instructions as well and wandering out to the back yard. She needed a shovel, a watering can...oh dear. She didn't have either of those! She was outside by now and she sighed, her spirits dampening a little at this new information. What was she supposed to do now? She couldn't dig into the ground with her hands! Tyyne put the seed packets and the paper down, poking at the ground some as if to test how tough it was. But...something happened, a small stem of a plant suddenly sprouted from the ground where she'd touched it. Tyyne gasped and brought her hand back, staring down at the little sprout. What...? How did that happen? Plants took so much longer to grow than that! It wasn't an instant thing! She put her hand on the ground again, several little white daisies suddenly sprouted from between her fingers. Whoa! Did she do that?! Flowers don't just appear from nowhere! Was this her imagination? Tyyne looked around for another place to touch, leaning over and dragging her finger along the ground. A line of tiger lilies along the path her finger had taken shot up and bloomed as if they had been there a long time and hadn't just magically grown, and even the daisies still looked perfectly okay. Wow this...this was incredible! She stepped away from the things she had just grown, looking over them with a giggle. Wow! So pretty! She did this? Really? This was nothing like Evari who could clap her hands or stomp her bare feet and produce sparks of light and fireworks. This was incredible!
What else could she do?
The packets were still sitting beside her feet and so she picked them up, opening the packet labeled 'Iris' and pouring the seeds into her hand. They didn't grow...but what if she just dropped them on the ground? The other flowers were scattered so randomly, this time Tyyne wanted to look somewhat organized about her new garden she would be creating. She walked up to a tree that was in the middle of the yard, walking around it in a circle and dropping the seeds along her path as she did. Nothing happened. Hmmm! Did she still have to touch them? One of her feet stepped on the circle of seeds and suddenly four irises sprung up and bloomed. Whoa! Tyyne giggled and clapped her hands excitedly, walking along the little pathway and watching as the flowers grew in her wake. This. Was. Amazing! She wanted to do this with all her flowers now! She turned to run to the back of the house again where she had left her seeds, skidding to a stop when she saw Evari leaning in the doorway with a little smile on her face. "E-Evari!" Tyyne gasped, hopping over the seeds to run over and throw her arms around her older sister in a tight hug. Evari tensed up at first but quickly relaxed, returning the hug and patting her back and looking past her at all the flowers growing everywhere. This was different; it wasn't something she'd ever seen happen before!
"So you did this? All by yourself?" Ooh, irises. She was growing the flowers Evari got for her. Tyyne smiled proudly and nodded, letting go of Evari to instead hold her hands and pull her out into the yard. Evari blinked but followed without much complaint, more curious to know what was happening than anything. Why was Tyyne dragging her outside? Did she want to show her how she did this?
Tyyne was looking at the ground as she guided Evari further into the yard, stopping her somewhere with a big smile and holding her hands up. "Stay right here!" She giggled, stepping back and rubbing at her chin. Hmm...she wanted to show Evari what she could do! But she had to figure out how. Obviously she had to show Evari she could grow flowers, but how to go about doing that? Oh! She knew just what to do! Tyyne suddenly giggled. "Close your eyes?" Evari blinked, eying her sister suspiciously at first until she shrugged. Okay, whatever. She closed her eyes, her hands clasped behind her back. Tyyne giggled again and clapped her hands, rubbing them together and moving closer. This was going to take a little more work, huh? These flowers were going to be bigger than the ones she'd already done. But she was going to do her best! This was sure to impress Evari! She concentrated hard on the flower she wanted to grow, carefully bending down to pat at the ground as if coaxing out what she wanted. It took a minute but soon a large yellow flower did sprout from the ground...and continued to grow...and grow...and grow! It reached about eight feet tall, a giant yellow sunflower. Tyyne grinned and repeated the process over and over until Evari was completely enclosed in her 'sunflower prison'. "Okay~! You can open them now." The next thing Tyyne heard made her flinch.
"HOLY CRAP!" Evari gasped, jumping back away from the things in front of her only to fall back against some more stems behind her. Gah! Wh-what was going on?! What did Tyyne do? She heard the laughter of her sister from the other side of this wall of...flowers. The tallest freakin' flowers she had ever seen. Gah! She wanted out! Evari pushed against the wall, grunting as she managed to slip through the 'bars' as they gave way. Tyyne was still giggling as Evari stumbled out from inside the ring of sunflowers, watching her turn around and look up at them. "Whoa...that's awesome, Tyyney." She smiled at her sister, poking at the flowers. Tyyne stopped giggling and laughing when she caught the compliment, staring wide-eyed at her sister. R-really? She had never said something like that before! Evari blinked, blushing and waving a hand. "D-don't read too much into it! Yer...yer still annoyin'." Evari argued until Tyyne rushed over to hug her tight again, giving an 'OOF' at the sudden impact and falling back against the sunflowers. Good thing they were sturdy! They caught her weight!
"Thank you so much, Evari!" She smiled, hugging her tightly.
"Didn't I just sa--"
"Uh uh. You're really nice! You got me these flowers and you said my flowers were awesome and you've been so nice to me!" Tyyne gave her a squeeze, her ears perked and her tail flicking. Evari blinked, chuckling helplessly and returning the hug. Weird girl.
"Right...well um..." She put her hands on Tyyne's shoulders and gently moved her away, trying not to smile. "I'm gonna...head back inside now. Just wanted to see you liked yer gift. I'll see ya when Xai's done with dinner. 'Kay?" Tyyne nodded, watching Evari walk away and wave before disappearing in the house. She sure was spending a lot of time at home lately. She hadn't gone out to see any of her friends in days...did something happen?
Well...if something did happen then Tyyne would just have to try and make her happy! She'd grow the best flowers Evari had ever seen and make her smile again! A real smile. All her smiles lately had seemed...a little off. She hoped she'd be okay.

DEAR DIARY S O M E S T U F F H A P P E N E D Dear Diary,
The past two days have been so nice! Evari is a lot nicer than I thought she was. The flower she gave me was dying so I got really worried that she would be mean again like she was before because the flower was the reason she was being nice to me. But she would get me new ones that were prettier! I wasn't so sure she was telling the truth but she actually did it! Yesterday I woke up and there was a big pretty vase with a bunch of really pretty flowers! She got me jasmine and gardenias and lilacs and irises! The lilacs are pink, and the jasmine is yellow, white AND red! It's really pretty! I never knew she could be so...nice! She wanted me to stop crying, she even said so! They're so pretty; I can't stop looking at them! They smell really nice, and they're just...so pretty! I can't believe Evari got ME flowers! She got me seeds too so I can grow my own flowers! The flowers that she got me? She got the seeds for them too. So I went outside to plant them but I don't have a shovel...I don't need one!
I can grow my own flowers! Right away! I don't even need to wait; I just put my hands on the ground and think really hard on what I want and flowers just pop up! It's amazing! I was even able to use my feet to grow them! I planted the seeds for the irises around a tree and just walked in a circle and they all grew! I wonder if I can do any flower I want? Or even if I can actually do other plants too? I'll have to see if I can do that! I grew daisies, and this really pretty flower I don't recognize, and the irises...and then I saw that Evari was watching too! She was smiling! So I showed her what I did by growing sunflowers all around her like a wall. It was funny. She said a bad word but it was still funny. She even said it was awesome what I could do! But when I was happy about it she tried to take it back by telling me how annoying I was...I don't believe she meant it. Why would she say such nice things only to say that they were lies? It doesn't make any sense to me. I think she's just being silly. What's so bad about being nice? She can obviously do it, and she's obviously trying.
But I don't know...something...something seems wrong. Evari hasn't been going out like she usually does. Going to get my flowers was the first time in days she's left the house. I'm worried something is bothering her but I know even if I ask she won't tell me what's wrong. Maybe I should ask her? You never know unless you try! She said that to me once. I guess I should...try then? But how do you bring up something like that? Do you just ask? This is all so confusing! I think I'll start by trying to make her smile again. A real smile. Not something she's forcing. She said my flowers were awesome so I will just make her special flowers just for her! She bought me flowers so I should grow her...a garden! Will she like that? Then again she doesn't seem to be the type to like flowers. It doesn't look like that would be her style? Maybe? She does like colors though. I don't really know much about her do I? We're sisters but we're nothing alike. We live together but I don't know anything about her. Does she have a lot of friends? She never brings them home, except for that boy with the dark skin who brought her home before. She must have a lot of friends if she's out as much as she is. Maybe I should ask her what...she's like? That would be so odd. Maybe I shouldn't. She could get mad because I'm trying to get into her life or something. She's already upset enough that we have the same mommy now...I think? I'm not sure how she feels about that anymore.
Maybe I'll just talk to Mommy. She's known Evari the longest! Well, I should get some sleep. It's been a long day! And I want to play with my garden some more tomorrow maybe. We'll see!
