While she was still new to this...world, Tyyne wanted to stay away from her home for now. That girl, Evari, who was supposed to be her sister was frightening. First she screamed at her to leave and then she ran away in anger. Tyyne didn't know when she'd be back so once Xai had her all settled she asked for permission to explore Gaia on her own. Xai was more than happy to give her what she wanted, the poor thing looked like she could use a little bit of alone time anyway after having such a traumatic first experience not even an hour after freeing herself from the statue to have a life of her own. Now Tyyne found herself on a beach, her little deer hooves sinking uncomfortably in the sand. Gah! She couldn't stand straight!
Tyyne ended up walking very daintily along the shoreline where the sand was slightly easier to walk on. It was wet and all but it was thicker and it moved less easily under her feet. It was very pretty here though! And Evari wasn't here, that made it even better! The waves hit her feet and she skittered away from it in a slight panic, her ears perked high. I-it was cold! She didn't want to be wet! It moved away and she blinked, stepping closer to where she had been standing. Oh no! It came back! Did it know?! Gah! Get it away! Tyyne skittered away again, running forward now along the shoreline as quickly as she could in the wet sand. Nonono she didn't want to get wet!

Quinn was standing ankle deep in the water and enjoying it for the most part. He had fled from Kay's company and ended up here. Now movement and scent had caught his attention it had an odd combination of deer and girl and when he looked over toward it he saw why. She was running about like one of those skittish hairless dogs that little old ladies sometimes brought to the beach because it was 'cute'. He rolled his odd blue eyes and sighed a bit. Should he just leave her be? Should he help her? Should he just point and laugh? To be honest the last part sounded most appealing but instead he turned and wandered closer as she skittered about and put his hands on his hips. He wore his swim trunks, it was warm enough for it so why not.
"Hey? It's not like the water is going to bite you or something," the shark boy pointed out and actually laughed a bit. Sure she might not want to get wet but then why wander toward the beach if you're going to be picky about that sorta thing? It seemed kind of silly to him. He waited for her to respond as he remained ankle deep in the water where he felt pretty well at home. He spared no one's feelings not even the timid.

Geh! Tyyne gasped and froze in place when a voice called out to her, ears perked and eyes wide. Someone was talking to her. It wasn't Evari was it? No, no. This wasn't Evari's voice. And it was saying something...oh. The water. Biting her. Eh heh. She relaxed after a moment and finally looked at the boy who was talking to her, her ears drooped low beside her head and her hands toying with a lock of hair that was over her shoulder. Whoa! That boy was...oh goodness, he had a lot of teeth. And he was laughing at her. She blushed a little and looked down at the water. "I-I know...it's just cold...and it feels...weird." And it didn't really help that she was still feeling rather jarred by the whole home situation. With time she'd get better, right? That's what she hoped. Maybe even Evari would like her! Sigh.
"You...have a lot of teeth. Oh!" Tyyne gasped, her hands flying to her mouth and her eyes wide. Oh no! She hadn't meant to say that out loud! "I mean...um...hello...?" Oops. She should've started with that! Now she looked rude. Tyyne looked around for a moment, trying to figure out what to do next. "Are you here alone too?"

"It's water," Quint said bluntly with a shrug, "it's water outside," he added as if to make a point that of course it was going to be cold! It was outside where it was often cold. Further more it was water and it was wet and thus of course it would feel weird. He placed his hands upon his hips and watched her. He stared at her after her comment and suddenly he let out a round of laughter. Geeze! Why did that amuse him so much? He wasn't sure probably because she was so scandalized by the fact that she had been so blunt and speaking her mind. It was just one of those things. She had managed to amuse him and that's all that mattered in the end.
"Yeah, hi," he said dismissively with a short chuckle and waved his hand. Quinn tilted his head and shook his head, "Not really my brother is lurking around somewhere, but I told him to leave me the Hell alone or I'd send him back home limping," he suddenly didn't look so amused as he remembered that Kay had laughed at his threat.
Quinn'd show him! Just let Kay show his face before Quinn was ready to deal with him again.

"Oh...true." Tyyne gasped and froze stiff as another wave came and the water moved a little further in this part of the beach than it had where she had started running, her ears perked high and she didn't move an inch. Geeeeeeh! She blinked and relaxed when the water moved away and he started laughing, shaking each of her legs one at a time as if simply doing that would dry them. What was so funny? Why was he laughing at her? Did she say something? W-was it the...teeth thing? She pouted a little and just watched him as he was apparently extremely amused by her little slip. It wasn't that funny was it? He even practically waved off her greeting! How mean!
Oh...he...had a sibling too? Tyyne took a moment to look around in search for this sibling that had been told to buzz off, not finding one. So this boy just told his brother to leave and...and he did it? Just like that? Sure, he threatened the boy and she would never, ever threaten someone but it would be nice to be able to stand up for herself and it actually be effective. "How did you do that?" Tyyne got the feeling if she just told Evari to leave such a thing wouldn't work and she'd either get mad or just laugh hysterically at her; she only met the glowing girl for a minute but the impression was a very strong one.
"I-I have a sister...she told me to go away." She went on to explain with obvious embarrassment, rubbing at the back of her neck and staring down at the water.

"Damn straight," he replied to her comment of 'true'. He slid his hands over and through his hair not seeming to note her pout and if he did he obviously didn't care much that or he just didn't seem to register the expression as something of a valid emotion. In truth he wasn't meaning to be insulting but he was genuinely amused by her for some reason. Something about her skittish nature pleased the inner predator and made it to where he wouldn't mind if she stuck around for him to toy around with.
He shrugged at her question and rolled his shoulders about as moved a bit closer to her with no menace in his posture for the moment. He didn't feel the need to menace or intimidate her. Quinn blinked slowly at her explanation with a simple, "Sounds like a b***h," in response. The shark-toothed boy mulled over the question a moment more before he finally decided to answer, "I mean what I say. I don't bullshit," he said bluntly as he stared at her with pupil-less eyes.
Quinn tried not to use this talk around most adults for the moment because he didn't want to deal with getting nagged or corrected on things that felt natural for him. Why should he edit the way he talked just because it was 'unpleasant'? He didn't give a damn what others thought of him much less this skittish thing that stood here trying to avoid the water.

Wow, this boy said a lot of strange words. Damn? b***h? "Um...wh-what's a...b***h?" Ugh! The word sounded horrible! Tyyne put a hand over her mouth and frowned, pursing her lips. She didn't like saying that word. It sounded so mean. So if he meant what he said then that meant he really would hurt his brother if he came back? Wow! That wasn't nice at all! Even Evari had only yelled at her to leave but run away herself!
"I...see." Tyyne looked around now, swaying awkwardly from foot to foot. It was awkward because of the sand and also because now she didn't know what to do. This boy scared her; his huge teeth, his eyes, his words. It was all frightening for her. He looked like he would just eat her whole without a moment's hesitation! That would be awful! And yet he was the first person aside from Xai to speak somewhat nicely to her. "Um, I'm Tyyne." She introduced herself shyly. Her hand moved from her mouth the the bottom of her shirt, toying with the hem just as something to do with her hands. She couldn't wear pants, so she had no pockets to put them in, making this her only option. Maybe if she had a name to him he wouldn't eat her!

He raised an eyebrow as she asked what a 'b***h' was. He canted his head to the side and he shrugged, "It's either a female dog or a troublesome girl ... I mean that she's a troublesome girl, dunno what your sister looks like so I can't say she's a dog." Quint was charming as ever without even trying. It was amazing that people didn't flock to him for his friendship and insight.
Quint eyed her critically for a long moment. Yeah, she wouldn't be able to tell people what she thought of them at least not in the way he did much less stand up for herself or so it seemed at the moment. The day that happens is the day he kisses Kay on the lips. Quite possibly with tongue. This girl was too shy and polite to do anything that required an actual spine.
"Quint." He said simply the name came out as abruptly as their meeting together. He shifted his weight from side to side uncertain what to do with this very shy girl. Then again he was uncertain on what to do with most girls. They cried too easily most of the time at least on the television they did.

He was calling her sister a dog?! Oh...troublesome girl. Alright. Well, except for her personality her sister was kind of pretty. But she was just so mean to her! Maybe one day she could stand up to her though? Maybe she could try and stand up for herself one day? Certainly she wouldn't be anything like this boy but...perhaps one day she could tell someone no? Or that what they were doing was bad? She would have to work at that.
"Well, it's...very nice to meet you, Quint." But now that she met him...now what? He was kind of frightening, he spoke so crudely and harshly and it made her want to run away...but that would be rude! "So, you just told your brother to go away...and he did?" He had said he didn't 'bullshit' but what did that mean? Would he really send his own brother home limping? That sounded so mean! There was no way she could say something like that to Evari! Not ever!

"Hmm? Oh yeah. Sure. Nice to meet you too," Quint replied idly as he moved his eyes to gaze across the vast amount of water for a long moment. Her question brought his eyes back to her and he tilted her head before he slowly nodded. "Yeah. But then my brother isn't normal. He'd laugh while I break him apart so I don't know if he'd actually learn anything or not. He's a bit of a freak." Quint sighed lightly as he recalled the biting incident and other incidents that came after that.
Yeah, Kay learns nothing.
To be honest he was getting a little bored and the girl was a little too ... tense. Nothing against her of course but she obviously needed to chill out and he obviously wasn't helping her any in that regard, he could just tell. Stretched his arms over head and then moved a little closer to her and took out a bit of money from his pocket before he moved closer so he could shove it into her hand. Whether or not she took it he didn't care as he started to walk away, "Gotta go home. Go ahead and treat yourself to some ice cream or whatever... you eat," Quint said dismissively as he walked away giving her a wave without looking back.

Tyyne listened earnestly to Quint's answer until it got...weird. B-break him apart? It...it made him laugh? His brother sounded just awful! Not that Quint was any better but why would someone laugh because they're being 'broken'? That was too strange! Was there something wrong with Quint's brother? There must have been, but if that was the case couldn't they do something about it? How strange.
Now what? Tyyne looked around uncomfortably, shying away from the water a little more calmly than she had been before as it splashed against her legs. It was making her fur wet and she didn't like it. Suddenly Quint moved and she gasped, skittering back a bit as he reached into his pocket and then extended a hand to her. She fumbled to catch what was shoved at her, staring down at the money, confused. Huh? What was the money for? Tyyne turned her confused gaze back up to Quint to find he was walking away, holding the money lamely in her hands and perking her ears to listen to what he had to say. This was for her? Um...o-okay. "Ah...th-thank you!" Tyyne called out after him, looking down at the money. Ice cream...that sounded nice. She'd never had it before! She watched Quint leave before finally turning away herself, awkwardly making her way across the sandy beach until she was on stable ground again. She never thought she'd be so happy to be on concrete! Tyyne held the money securely in her hands, glancing back at the beach one more time before she started for the ice cream shop she'd passed on the way here. Huh...for a scary boy maybe he wasn't so mean!
