Several of us have noticed a decrease in tank gold. I PM'd someone who pays a lot of attention to this sort of thing and am told tank glows have decreased by about 50%.

What can you tell me about recent nerfing?
It is obvious from my tank gold (and the comments of others) that Gaia has either nerfed dolphins or nerfed booty grab in general.

My three main tanks have been producing an average of 100k+ per day. Usually closer to 115k, for quite a while.

My daily average the past four days is 75k per tank.

Also, I just got back from Sakura-Con 2010 and while there attended the Gaia panels. During the Q/A session DJ Helsing acknowledged to me they plan to nerf the dolphins. The reason given was 'to balance things out because right now things are not balanced' (or words very close to that). I did not think to ask him if they have ALREADY nerfed the dolphins.

My guess is the planned dolphin nerf is in addition to what ever they have already done. I spoke to DJ after the panel trying to find out if the time frame was 'weeks' or 'months'. He seemed sincere that he really didn't know, just that it is going to happen. I think if they had already done it the answer would have been more along the lines of something like, 'We've made some changes and we'll see how that works out and then make more changes as necessary'.

After the Sunday panel I also spoke to the marketing director. I forget his name but he told me he is in charge of marketing. I asked him if they nerf the dolphins are they planning to come out with some other 'bread and butter' fish the way they did with the dolphins after they nerfed the watermeats. I forget his exact answer but he more or less said, 'Yeah, Gaia will always be coming out with new fish'.

If they do not nerf them too much more well exposed dolphins still pay for themselves and turn a decent profit - just not as much.

Done except I did have to trim it down some due to the 1500 character limit including spaces. And for some reason the guild announcement thing gives a higher count that MS Word does on the same text so you have to trim it down even more. I hope I didn't butcher it too much for you.

Anyone else have actual glow times / frequency stats?

What I have observed is my average daily tank gold has been down roughly 10+k per day per tank compared to what it was before the glow nerf.

I do not know whether to attribute this to a sneaky subtle nerf on Gaia's part or due to the natural flow of user patterns due to time of year, school, weather etc.

I wish Gaia would be open and honest about changes they make that affect purchased products. It would do a lot for my opinion of them. If it is a nerf it is one I can live with. At this point I am still making enough to purchase replacement fish and turn some profit so I'm trying to be open minded about not being too greedy.

I only track tank gold so not sure about glow times.
My guess from my gold would be more subtle nerfs like a few less power ups / more power downs during play and stuff like that.

Again though I'm not sure it isn't due to less people on line this time of year.

Early info I have on the new fish so far does not make the BG replacement fish. They do not all glow at once and -

not sure if the pirate glows

I have not verified that info but it is from a reliable source. So far I would rate these new fish as 'decorative'. I do expect them to retire watermeat and probably dolphin and then introduce a fish that is between those two in the gold it drops.
