What an epic take, and a rather optimistic one too! I personally have a belief in ghosts due to Irish heritage, and things I've seen that are unexplainable. I also believe humans all have a basic psychic connection to the dead, but I'll keep mum on that til the time comes...

I was gonna respond with the following to you with what I said to you on the Crowbook page, but decided to post it here instead.

"creation myths and theories".

The first gods written about were Giants from another planet. AKA aliens. Many different ancient religions talk about giants. From Sumerian to Babylon to Greek and Roman (Titans being overthrown by the new generation of Gods and Goddesses), Norse (Giants breeding with the Gods and Goddesses) and I believe Hindu and probably others too. There was even a book left out of the bible that mentions fallen angels called Nephilim that bred with women on earth. Lucifer and his angels.

The Sumerian tablets even talk about mankind being made by the gods Ninmah and god Enki. out of dirt and blood. then they made many more in other creation stories and called 7 Adamu. They made mankind to work for them.

The Sumerian version talks a lot about the Garden of Eden too, and Norse mythology talks about Golden Apples that give youth, aka live hundreds of years, like the aliens do, that's another reason they were thought of as gods, because they lived so long they were thought to be immortal. The Norse World tree's roots get water from the fountain of youth.

They also described the great flood and the first version of the story of Noah's Ark. The God Enlil said the people were making too much noise and he wanted the flood. His brother Enki did not want to see his offspring die (thus the Noah story). Also, goddess Ninmah helped in the saving of the animals.

Here's a cool chart that shows some comparisons of the story of Noah's Ark in other religions. http://www.livius.org/fa-fn/flood/flood3-t-atrahasis.html (Scroll to bottom) and here's the story in many versions. http://www.mendhak.com/66-ancient-flood-myths-from-around-the-world.aspx

Ah yes, the Titans from Greek Mythology... I have a keen interest in the Greek take on higher powers and the like, especially the story of Orpheous and the Underworld he encounters. I didn't much care for the Mary-Sueness of Hercules though.

A religion like that fascinates me, and I'm enchanted by the stories and teachings, but I just can't bring myself to accept so many Gods and Godesses there for only one thing.

Like Zeus once said, "Man sees his other's faults in their baskets, but cannot see his own." (don't see why that's needed here but I felt the urge to quote something vaguely OK.)

It's pretty childish to believe in a God who has human emotions and who works on the basis of reward and punishment. In my opinion, God is pretty immature, if you don't agree with him he punishes you. The theological God put aside, there might be a creator, but most definitely there is no Heaven and Hell, except for the band.

If someone tries to discredit evolution, he/she is full of s**t.

That works, but I prefer the term "not informed well enough" as an euphemism.

Not always. They could be informed but too arrogant. Creationists are like that.

If it goes against their personal creed, yes I left that one out.

Love reading about the ancient alien theories. And I find it extremely plausible.

I also have a controversial take (at least in my region) on the whole evolution/creation thing.

Man created from dirt? Hm. sounds like primordial ooze to me. I could go on but won't.

I believe in evolution and creation...ha...those two words don't go together!

Not everyone who has Faith thinks Science is the boogey man. Science and faith need not be at odds with one another.

You have Faith but not in religion. What do you have faith in then?

YHWH. G-d. The Eternal One. There is a huge difference betwen "religion" and faith. I want nothing to do with religion and am staunchly opposed to thier systems. I'm a science freak though, and my views are not widely accepted in the region i hail from. I live in the midst of the stereotypical creationist. I feel evolution was part of the process of creation. evolving, creation...ya, i believe they go together.

Really, who's to say that the religions are right anyway? Their god(s) might be real but their rules are man-made. No absolute truth can be found there. Like my friend is Hindu and in his religion, a person gains 10 for every good deed and loses 1 for every bad deed. Personally, that's "some ol' bull sh-t right there", but it might hold water in some universal rule book. XD

Keep an open mind is all I ask of the world's people.

If God is the only absolute then anything we make or say can only be half as true until it comes from the absolute in direct translation.

Other than that, HOSTILE TAKEOVER OF THE ILLUMINATI! XD
