Fox Demon Shippo Why would it matter if they were elitist? Just go inside/by and download the thing!
How would they be elitist? It's not like they could stop you from downloading.
Also, the Gamestop(s) here are okay, but I would NEVER sell back/buy some games there. They were selling Pokemon games for $40. Used. I could buy them for $35 new! xP
Also, they decided that they wanted to offer me 25 cents when I wanted to exchange games. Um, no. It usually costs $70 for a Pokemon game down here. (That's in Aussie dollars, of course.) I can usually get them on sale in K-mart when they're released for about $55 though. But if there's a HUGE gap between when it's released in America and down here, I'll pay full price for a US version. I sure am glad I only have to wait 11 days after you Americans for HG/SS. Though, I imagine all of those days will be nothing but torture....

[Philosophy In A Teacup] just put it in your mouth Fiery Tiamat [Philosophy In A Teacup] Actually, you don't even need to be IN the GameStop. You can sit on the bench outside (if there is one) or drive by the store front really slow, or park your car in the space closest to the store front and you can still download the Jirachi. Which, if your GameStop is staffed by a bunch of elitist douchebags, is wonderful.
The Jirachi you can receive is the American version of Japan's Nintendo Zone Jirachi, which means when you transfer this guy to your HG/SS carts, it will unlock the PokéWalker course Edge of Night Sky, which contains these Pokémon and items. xd Is YOUR Gamestop staffed by a bunch of elitist douchebags, Tippy? both gamestops I go to are stare . the whole store reeks of the fealing "wow, you could at least try." Yeah, an insane amount of GameStops are staffed by elitist douchebags, apparently, which is how we discovered the whole, "Stand outside and you can still DL an event" thing. I know the one GameStop in my hometown was staffed by jerks and one of the the ones I go to here is staffed by sleazy salesmen (I went to buy an HDD for my 360, and he said the one he was selling me was ~BRAND NEW~. I get home and realize that it's in GameStop's repackaging and is labeled as Used). Really? What Gamestops do you go to? I've never had a problem at any that I've gone to, but then, I don't stand around and get into conversations with cashiers and store employees very often in any kind of store. I usually just go in to buy, preorder, or ask a specific question and leave. XD But people have always been real helpful to me. When they were doing the Pikachu colored Pichu, one of the Gamestops I went to wasn't doing it for some reason, but they told me that there was one down the road that was and told me where it was and all. And when I went to preorder the games they let me know about the Jirachi download which I wouldn't have known about otherwise (at least until this topic was made). But I'm glad to know about the standing outside thing, because if I'm in a hurry and aren't planning on looking at or buying any games, that will be really convenient. Especially if it turns out the place isn't doing it, then I will have wasted less time. XD

darkgloomie I don't suppose I can get a cloned one from you guys, can I? Maybe Tippy, but she might only do it when she feels like it. xD
As for me? Not cloned, no, but I DO have two Diamond games. >w> And I may be willing to trade one. For a price.

As for me? Not cloned, no, but I DO have two Diamond games. >w> And I may be willing to trade one. For a price. @Bolded: THIS, times a million. I have an asston of event pokes (relevant ones: PCP, NZ Jirachi, and Movie Arceus), but I give them away sporadically because I hardly feel like starting up my Diamond anymore. It took me, like, three months just to breed Neth a shiny Eevee, shiny Sentret, and Surfing Pikachu, because I procrastinated so much. xD So you can get events from me for the price of a Bidoof, but the trade-off is it make take a while.
@Elitist GameStop staff: I never said them being elitist/jerks stops anyone from downloading an event. Hell, I kinda implied that it indeed didn't matter by mentioning the fact that you can park in the parking lot in front of a GameStop and still download the event. But it matters, because some of the staffers can make you feel uncomfortable, especially if you're a shy/sensitive person. They just glare at you and make snide remarks about you being "too old" or how Pokémon is stupid or whatnot, and some people don't want to deal with that. I certainly don't, which is why I don't really go to events anymore also, I'm really lazy and can't be assed to drive down to one, especially if I already have the Japanese version of event Pokémon.
@Vicki: There was the one in DeLand that, the staffers weren't outright jerks like I described above, but the experience still left me avoiding that one store. One of the GameStops in Orange City actually had nice staff, since they helped me track down a trio of old, kinda obscure games that had ceased production and year or two earlier, and they were really nice about it. The one with the sleazy salesman was the one right by Orlando International, in that little shopping complex place in front of the Wal-Mart on Goldenrod.
Also, I live in Goldenrod, guys. lol

Also, I live in Goldenrod, guys. lol Wow that's ridiculous. You would think the people working there would see things from a gamer's perspective, and realize that Pokémon is just another RPG game and has nothing to do with age. On top of that all of us who are the original fans from when the series started are all grown up, of course there's going to be adults still playing it. I definitely haven't had that problem myself. The Gamestops I usually go to are the one at Waterford Lakes shopping center on Alafaya and the one at the Fashion Square mall. The lady working at the Fashion Square store when I preordered didn't seem to think twice about it and is the one that let me know about Jirachi since I was obviously a Pokémon fan. You'd think too that these people would want to generate business at their store by being courteous to their customers instead of chasing them off and making them not feel like even entering the store. stare

@ Tippy - Knew it. xD
But as for the Events, that sucks. I remember going to a TRU event a while back, and talking with the person who worked it about how they were going to download a few for themselves later, too. Mind you, TRU isn't GameStop, but still. The GameStop staff here are quite friendly, actually.

They were really nice, even when I accidentally was like, "I'M HERE TO PICK UP POKEMON DIAMOND..." I went with the 'Stop by OIA this time, since I happened to be picking up some things at the Wal-Mart and remembered that I should go pre-order. The staff there are nice, too, even the sleazy salesman. And the little 'Stop at... Millenia, too, I believe, real nice. But I think the staff there was more amused by how excited I was to find an Assassin's Creed II Master Assassin Edition (aka AC2 pre-order) for straight-up sale. xD
And you'd think GameStop would discourage the douchebaggery, but they probably make enough money through 400% mark-ups on games to not give a damn about loosing a few customers. :/
Edit: @Shippo: Yeah, I've had way better experiences at TRU. I still got odd looks, but they were more like, "Oh, people your age like Pokémon too?" rather than "I can't believe you like Pokémon you're too old".

Yeah I hate how they only give you a few dollars for a used game but then sell the used games for over twice what they pay you for them. I won't sell my used games to them. XD I have a friend who did manage to come out ahead by selling a game to them though, only because she originally bought the game used from Goodwill for $2, then decided she didn't like it much when she played it, and sold it to Gamestop and they gave her $4. I guess that's the only way to do it.

Buying low, selling high. That makes sense.
25 cents, for a game that they'll sell for $40? That's not cool.

The dudes at the GameStops in my area are all pretty chill. Cutie with a lisp helped me preorder the GHSS copies (one silver each for me & my gf, gold for her brother) and told me about the preorder-exclusive figurines, as well as the dudes there for both the Pichu & Jirachi events both making sure to ask that I knew how to get them properly.
