Well, I finally made a comic, and your tutorial was the only thing that got me through the page set-up... Otherwise it would've just been plain squares with no spacing, like you said not to do, lol. But now it looks freakin' awesome!! I just can't thank you enough for all the help you gave me!!!! biggrin biggrin biggrin blaugh

It's really not that bad, it's just not plotted out the best. Until I can get the tutorial updated, a few good pointers and general rules are:

- Whichever panel contains the most climactic or "biggest" action should be the largest panel.
- There should not be a constant use of the same angle, save for a kind of plot establishment, nor a constant use of head shots or medium shots.
- Most establishing shots are used with large(r) panels, and often with the setting portrayed as small, in order to create a sense of depth.

I can explain these better when I can get the rest of the tut fleshed out. It's a smaller image, so I can't really say very much about it. The content of the panels is just as or more important than the panels themselves. Yours is a good start, though.

By the Nine, I hate paneling... but I've gotten better. Your tutorial, while I didn't see it before drawing this new one, basically tells me to do what I've been trying to do, so it's good to know I'm getting things right. here's my first real success:

I used to cram in too many panels, like this... that is, when I wasn't doing the Six-Panel Cop-Out (I've also gotten better at drawing):

This tutorial is mostly common sense when it comes to paneling, but hey, someone's gotta preach it.

Off topic, why do some webcomics make their characters from America and force them to say things like "Konnichiwa! Watashi wa Sally-chan. I love sushi!" It boggles me. This tutorial needs to go to those webcomic creators and set things straight!
