"No! No, sillygooseyface, I don't have a mate," Ricky assured her quickly, laughing at the very notion. Nobody would ever want to be her mate, she was too hyper and awesome for that. Even for Dizzy, who had been too boring.
"I like you too very very much a lot," Ricky added as an afterthought, flopping down next to her. "So it's okay to do it?" Ricky questioned, then without waiting for an answer, leaned over and licked her cheek again. She liked how it made her feel, all warm and tingly and tickley, which didn't sound very nice but it really was.

Leefox grinned. "Of course it's okay to do it!" And she licked Kikifox right back.
"I'm glad you don't have a mate, 'cause that means we can spend aaaaaall our time together playing and hanging out and and and...and stuff! Oh, and 'cause we're bestest best friends, so we gotta tell each other everything, and it'd be really really bad if Kikifox had a mate and didn't tell Leefox."
Leefox pouted just at the idea of Kikifox keeping a secret from her.

"And it'd be doubly bad if Leefox didn't tell Kikifox something too!" Ricky returned, still grinning from the lick. She knew right then and there that she'd have no problem, none at all, spending alllllll her time with Leefox eeeveryday.
"Okay! So bestest bestybest friend ever besty, whatcha wanna play? We already played gotcha, what now?" Kikifox grinned at her, her tail flicking behind her excitedly. This was going to be fun! The best stuff happened today! Today was the best day!
"I promise I won't never keep any secrets from you not never," Ricky promised quickly, leaning over and licking the pout away from her muzzle, nuzzling the other fox beneath the ear for good measure while she was at it. She didn't want Leefox pouting! "Promise promise. But you can't hide anything neither 'cause that'd be cheating and not nice and stuff." Ricky added an afterthought, pouting back.

"Nope, not any any any secrets at all!"
Leefox thought really hard about everything about herself, because she didn't want to keep aaaaaany secrets from Kikifox.
"Well, I've got two mommies, pink mommy and blue mommy, and I've got two sisters who are triplets with me and a brother and a sister who isn't a triplet, and two granddaddies--they're both pink mommy's daddies, and they like run a tribe or something and pink mommy and pink mommy's daddies have a huuuuge family but I've never met any of the rest of them and I really like playing in this meadow 'cause it's mommies' favorite spot and uh we should play hide and seek, 'cept we can't cause no one else is around and I dunno where mommies and Wesley and Meadow and Breeze and Meade all are and anyway maybe we should go find them so we can play hide and seek yeah let's do that it'll be great!"
How Leefox managed to force that entire thing into one giant run-on-sentence, no one will ever know.

Ricky, by some miracle, managed to follow that entire long run-on sentence, then grinned and nodded. "Yea, let's do that!" Ricky paused, then said more thoughtfully, "But I know everythin' about you and you don' know nothin' bout me and that's not fair," Ricky pouted once again, but then brightened when she realized that she could tell her everything and nothing would be bad or anything.
"I have a brother and sister who don't look nothing like me at all--one of 'em, Conundrum or Conny like I call him, he's an Elder with no tribe but he's a rainbow! He's so cool, you'd love him! He's all puzzly and stuff. Then there's my sister Thea, and she's booooring. She wouldn't play hide and seek with us if we triple-dog dared her," Ricky said with a disapproving chuff. Jeeze! Her sister was soooo lame.
"But I dunno my mommy and daddy or my grandmommy and grandaddy, 'cause me and Conny and Thea were all alone so Thea and Conny raised me and themselves and stuff." Ricky said with a quick nod, shrugging indifferently; sure, sometimes she wished she knew her parents and grandparents, but more often than not she brushed it off-- it was obvious that they didn't want her and her siblings, so she wouldn't want them, just to show 'em.
"Where are...are Wesley, Breeze, Meade and Meadow...was that all of them?" Ricky asked curiously, frowning cutely as she tried to remember all of the names Leefox had rapidfired at her.

"But how do you have an elder without a tribe?" Leefox didn't get it. From what mommies had said, the higher beings turned a fox into an elder when they had enough foxes for a tribe (Leefox didn't get how the higher beings decided that but she wasn't a higher being and she wasn't going to start a tribe either so it was okay if she didn't get it and higher beings were probably all weird anyway because they were all, like, higher and stuff), so how did Conny get all elderified if he didn't have a tribe?
"But anyway, we're definitely gonna hafta meet Conny and Thea sometime! And and you and I can share mommies and granddadies 'cause it's not faaaaair I have them and you don't!" That settled that, as far as Leefox was concerned.
"Wesley and Breaze and Meade and Meadow and me, yup, that makes all five of us! And I dunno 'cause we're usually around here with Blue Mommy and Pink Mommy but they all went off to get food and stuff, but they're somewhere. Wanna go see if we can find them?
"No! I wanna find Thea and Conny and meet them first!"

"Well duh, he had a tribe once but he don't anymore 'cause they all left or something and he's sad about that 'cause he's still an Elder but he don't got a tribe to lead anymore," Ricky said with a quick nod, as if this was obvious. Why else would you be an Elder if you didn't have a Tribe? 'Cause the Higher Beings only did that when somebody had a Tribe, didn't they?
"Really! You'd share?" Ricky grinned broadly and tackled her again happily, nuzzling under her cheek. "Thankyouuuu, I always wanted mommies and granddaddies!" It was like Christmas for Ricky, and Leefox was to blame which just made Rickyfox like her even better. Bestest present ever!
"But I dunno where they are!" Ricky said, pouting down at Leefox. "Well, akshully, Thea's at Lunarie 'cause she's Carer there, but Conny's been wandering all over the place since his Tribe got unTribified. Wouldn't it be easier to find Wesley, Breaze, Meade and Meadow first?" Ricky asked, grinning winningly.

((...pretend that Lee also mentioned a grandmother. Lee is a good fox, and, unlike me, wouldn't forget Grandmama Heartbreak XD Also, the following is Rea being too lazy to poke everyone else to post in here/try to explain why only Wesley & Sigal are around XD ))
"But how did his tribe get all untribeified?" Leefox asked, still not really getting it. Okay, so it made kinda more sense now, but not too much. Tribes were like forever, so they shouldn't just be poofing out of existence like Conny's tribe had done!
"Yeah of course I'd share, 'cause we're bestest besty best friends and we gotta share everything, duuuuh!" Leefox said teasingly.
"But I dunno where everyone all went. But I do know where Lunarie is, and then you can meet Granddaddy Kazuki and Granddaddy Ari and Aunt Yuicha and Aunt Ibuki and Uncle Piko and Aunt Aysu and Uncle Kavi!
"Oh, and and and Pink Mommy has been wanting to go to Lunarie to see Granddaddy Ari so maybe everyone's there already anyway!"

"I 'unno, all'a his Tribe just went poofy, even his bestest best friend," Ricky answered, her ears drooping in sadness for her poor big brother. Then they drooped even more--what if Leefox left! Nooo, that wouldn't never happen, never never never. 'Cause wherever Leefox wanted to go, Kikifox could always follow and she would, 'cause that's what bestest best friends did.
"Yea! Let's go see Lunarie! 'Cause my sister Thea's there anyways and you can meet her! But she's kinda boring...did I say that already? Anyway, she doesn't really talk or nothing like that, but I wanna meet your Granddaddy Kazuki and Ari and your Aunties and Uncleys!" Ricky enthused, already forgetting her moment of glumness.
"Ooh, I hope so! Your Pink Mommy sounds so nice!" Ricky said with a big smile, licking Leefox's cheek again. "Lesgo!" Ricky said, starting to walk. She only got a step, though, before she paused and frowned worriedly. "I'unno which way to go."

Leefox turned serious (or what passed for serious with her) for a moment as she stared at her friend. "Kikifox promises to never ever ever ever ever go poofy and leave Leefox, doesn't she?"
But then Kikifox started off the wrong way. "Not that way, silly, this way!"
And then after a little while they were at the tribe and there was Pink Mommy!
"Pink Mommy! Look, look, I've got a friend her name is Kikifox well no her name is RickRack but I call her Kikifox and Granddaddy Ari you're here too and I haven't seen you in foreeeeeever!" Sigal grinned back at Lee. She hadn't see the children much, now that they were all grown up already, but she was glad to see Lee again. And meet her friend, too!
"Hello, RickRack. Or rather, Kikifox." She grinned at the girl. "How are you?" She felt a little sad, seeing that Lee was so close to RickRack, but Lee had never introduced her to her until just now. Becoming a parent herself made understanding Daddy a whole lot easier. While Ari wasn't surprised to see one of his grandchildren here, he was surprised to see that she had brought a friend. Both girls seemed exhuberant enough, so he doubted they had any interest in joining the tribe...
"Hello, RickRack," he simply greeted her, waiting to see if she would explain without being prompted.

"Oh, Kikifox won't ever never ever leave Leefox! Not never! I promise promise," Kiki reassured Lee, nuzzling against her affectionately as they came up to the two foxes.
"Hi! Hi!" Ricky greeted thee two of them, tail wagging happily. "Oh! And--and--Mister Granddaddy Elder Mister Ari! Is my sissy Thea okay? I mean really okay? 'Cause she's okay at being pretend okay, but bad at being really okay," Ricky frowned worriedly, her ears lowering sadly. But just as quickly, she looked back at Sigal and smiled brightly. "Hi Pink Mommy!" But Ricky again faltered, asking shyly, "Leefox talked about you alot and you're nice a lot, 'cause Leefox is nice too and your one'a her Mommies so it only makes sense. But, um, Pink Mommy, could...um, could only Leefox call me Kikifox? 'Cause she madeit up and and and stuff...but you can call me Ricky! Promise! I like being called Ricky, so so...so...I sorry?"
She really didn't want Granddaddy Ari and Pink Mommy to hate her...

"Okay, Ricky. And you can call me Sigal, if you want. I'm not your mommy, after all," Sigal giggled.
"Um, actually, you are, 'cause Kikifox doesn't have any mommies or granddadies or grandmommies or anything and it wasn't fair that I had them and she didn't so I said that we could share because that's what besty best bestest friends do. Um, sorry Pink Mommy..."
"Oh, so your Blue Mommy and I have another daughter, huh?" Sigal asked, grinning at Lee, as she affectionately licked the top of her newest daughter's head.
'Besty best bestest friends, huh?' is what she thought to herself. But she wouldn't push Lee or Ricky--she'd let them figure out what they were to each other for themselves.
Ari wasn't even sure what to say about Thea. Was Thea 'really okay'? Well, she wasn't doing as well as she had been once, but she wasn't doing as poorly as she had right after her break-up, either. And was he obliged to keep what Thea had told him confidential? But Ricky was her family, and deserved to know...it was all giving Ari a headache. Rina would know what to do. All he could do was guess.
"She's not doing too poorly right now. She is recovering from her break-up with," what had that hyper fox's name had been? Ari had forgotten, and covered it a second later with: "a fox she had thought would become her mate." He paused, then decided to clarify a little: "it takes time to get over some things," he should know, "but she is doing much better now than she was right after the break-up."
"But that other fox was going to be her mate! Mates shouldn't just break up like that! It's as bad as...as bad as...as bad as a besty best best friend leaving!"
And in that moment, Lee realized that a mate actually was the same thing as a besty best best friend. Except...except they had to be a little different, because you had kits with a mate, and not a besty best best friend. And Leefox was back to not getting it again.

"Eee!" Ricky gigglesqueeled as her new Pink Mommy licked her. "That tickles!" Rickly managed to squirm back against Leefox, pantlaughing as she did so--that is, until Granddaddy Ari spoke.
"Broke up? With another fox? Aaww, poor Theeeaaa." Ricky whined despondantly, but then brightened as she got an idea. "Hey Grandaddy Ari? Will you give her this for me?" And then, bold as brass, Kikifox bounded over and licked Ari's cheek. "Thank you!"

Ari could only blink in confusion for a few seconds, until he realized that Ricky wanted him to pass the lick on to Thea for her.
"I will," he told her. And then he realized he had no non-awkward way to pass it on. He'd have some time to think about that one, at least.
Sigal giggled at Daddy's stunned expression. She really liked that about Daddy--all the elders were all serious and reserved and stuff, but she'd never felt like that with Daddy. He was just a normal fox, just with a very big and poofy body.
"Yeah...but I'm glad she's doing better now. And maybe we can go see her and maybe cheer her up some! Leefox wants to see Kikifox's family, too!"

"If it's okay with Granddaddy Ari, 'cause it's his tribe and she's his Carer 'fore she's my sissy. She said that allllll the time." Ricky said with a sage nod, then looked back at Granddaddy Ari.
"Is it okay if me and Leefox visit, Granddaddy Ari? 'Cause since she's lettin' me have her family too, then I should share too 'cause that's nice! So Thea's really her sissy too, so would that be okay plleeeease? 'Cause I dun want Thea to be sad, 'cause sad is bad!" Ricky giggled at her rhyme, then grinned winningly up at Granddaddy Ari. "Pleeease?"
