Shaezelle chuckled, both amused and intruigued by the vixen's invitation. "Alright then, I'll follow you," she replied. "Whatever you do, I'll do it too. Show me everything and tell me how." Shaezelle ended on that note, smiling brightly back at Vogue. She could see that there was just so much to learn about the city, and Shaezelle was excited. She doubted that she would be able to find a better teacher, also. Vogue, being the strong, smart, brave, and independent vixen that she was made her someone Shaezelle could admire easily.

Vogue smiled back, a sly, wicked grin, as she led the way deeper into the city.

She kept them to the back alleys while they traveled, to avoid the notice of humans who would want to catch them, and keep them as pets. But once they reached a certain spot, she led them back to the main street; a street that opened out into a park.

"Follow me, and do as I do," Vogue instructed, with another grin. She weaved her way among the humans in the crowd, keeping them between her and a stand in the park.

Once she was close enough, she lunged at the stand: or rather, at the trail of sausage links hanging from its side. Not looking back to see, she burst into a run, trusting that Shaezelle would do the same.

Shaezelle continued to follow Vogue closely, not wanting to get lost. Who knew what number of bad things could happen to a lost vixen in the city. Not that Shaezelle was thinking too deeply on the subject; she was still much to excited about her simply being here. They entered a beautiful park and Shaezelle was soon given vague instructions, closely followed by a quick grin from Vogue. She did exactly as she could, literally following in Vogue's pawprints.

Shaezelle noticed the stand that smelled distinctly of... indistinct meat. And a wonderous scent it was. She was just about to ask after about obtaining the meat when she suddenly saw Vogue pounce on it and begin running. Rather than also fishing out a link of sausages for herself, Shaezelle skipped to simply sprinting closely behind Vogue. The yells heard from behind painted a mental picture of chaos for her as she ran. It was simply exhilirating.

Until, of course, Shaezelle felt herself being pulled back by around the neck. She struggled against the force, but could only hold out for so long. An animal catcher of sorts, it seemed, had caught her, but Shaezelle didn't know what this would mean. All she could think about was the image of Vogue running off with the sausages, unaware that she had been captured.

[Haha, I just watched Oliver and Company! And now it's like Lady and the Tramp!]

Vogue heard shouts behind her, then silence. She darted into one of the hedges that lined the park paths to conceal her location, and then peered out from between the leaves to see what had happened.

And what a sight she saw: Shaezelle, caught by the Catching Human, Vogue's archenemy.

Vogue dropped the sausages safely in the bush and burst out, to charge at the Catching Human, who let go of his hold on Shaezelle in surprise.

"Run!" she commanded the other vixen, as she herself continued to run past the human.

Normally she would never do such a thing; would have stayed hidden and saved her own skin, and left Shaezelle to help herself.

But the Catching Human was her enemy, and so she would get back at him in any way she could.

Shaezelle's struggles didn't make any difference to the human until she saw Vogue suddenly charging at them. The man released her and Shaezelle instinctively followed the other vixen's advice and ran as quickly as possible away from the human and in the same direction as Vogue who didn't stop running. Shaezelle didn't glance back - couldn't really, given the circumstances - but her ears picked up the sound of his heavy footsteps. It was actually a good thing that he was persuing on foot; humans couldn't possibly keep up with two fully-grown vixens for too long.

With an extra burst of speed, Shaezelle lengthened the distance between herself and the human, and closed the few strides still remaining between her and Vogue. She would have thanked the other vixen then and there, but decided it best not to speak until it was safe and they could stop running and rest for a bit.

Vogue's trained hearing, skilled as it was to focusing on one sound among many, one instrumental line within a symphony of sound, picked up on Shaezelle's pawfalls as they slowly gained on her--and the footfalls of the Catching Human, as they slowly faded into the distance.

Not one to take chances with her freedom, Vogue still twisted around this corner and turned around that, losing them in the man-made maze the city conveniently provided.

They had started out in an area full of people and bustle, noise and life, the sounds and colors of humans everywhere. Now, though, there were no humans to be seen among the myriad buildings, squat, windowless, and low, which surrounded them on all sides.

The area seemed to be deserted, with only the two of them there.

"Now we rest," she told Shaezelle, a slight catch in her breath, as she struggled to regain it. Trained in music and art she might be, but running was a different matter entirely.

Shaezelle followed Vogue down every street or alleyway that she was lead through, around every corner, between crowds of people until they all began to thin out. It seemed like miles before they were finally able to stop running and catch their breath. Shaezelle realized that she hadn't even noticed the drastic change in scenery as she ran. It was completely devoid of lifeforms, humans and foxes a like, besides her and Vogue. Most would describe the area as dreary, but Shaezelle would merely call it a different sort of beautiful.

The fateful words left Vogue's lips and Shaezelle promptly laid down to rest. The adrenaline that had pumped through her veins now seemed to be draining from her. "Oh, good." She said after catching her breath a bit more. "Thank you for coming back for me, Vogue. I don't know how I'll ever be able to repay you for such kindness. Not to mention, showing me all around the city in the first place."

Vogue gave a slight shrug. "The Catcher is my enemy," she said, as though that explained everything.

Vogue peered around her surroundings, having never been to this part of the city before. She knew vaguely where they had come from, and vaguely where they had come from, but she knew that getting back to the center of the city (and back to the tribe, in Vogue's case), wouldn't be so easy. It had been a maze to get this far, and Vogue remembered much of the route, but not all of it. Would that be enough?

Well, it would have to be. She was clever enough, and independent enough, and stubborn enough, to figure it out. You didn't become a city fox without having any survival instincts.

"Well then I am glad to have made such an ally, Vogue," Shaezelle responded, with a small smile. She watched the other vixen, who seemed to be intently examining the surrounding area, and waited for her to take up the lead again. "Where to now?" She asked. The city seemed endlessly huge, and it was as though the tour would never end. Not that Shaezelle particularly minded; she loved to explore. But after the events of the day, she could do with some rest as well.
