I'd be glad to help. =3
Just let me know when you need that help. XD And, what kind of theme might we want to go for?

I always forget about the trading pass delay for new accounts. So I'll send a trade in about 3 days. whee I like the prompt idea, it helps to get people working on something new and give them a focus. You could either do a word or phrase that people could interpret however they wanted, or a more specific theme. Examples of phrases off the top of my head: Skin deep Coming home Learning to fly Themes: I like Psychotic's example of "after the fairytale" -- I think that one could really go in a lot of directions, and is enough to work with, with or without song lyrics. I don't really listen to much music, so I have no idea about lyrics, for the most part. Or if you do a photo prompt, you can just use Google images to find some pictures to link to. Like this one, I can see this leading to some interesting stuff: http://laist.com/attachments/la_jacy/Spooky Forest Graveyard.jpg

Maybe we could do a combination of prompts. Give people a song to work with, a quote, a picture, and then an overarching theme. So, all entries have to have the theme, and then people can use the prompts if they want to? :B That gives people more choice.

Just wondering, but would people be able to do separate submissions in more than one category (poetry, short story, etc.)?

If we could find judges who don't mind either judging all of those, or finding separate judges for the categories, I don't see why not. It will all depend on interest though, I assume, since there would be no point having three categories if two out of the three only had one entrant. XD
I was thinking, if the contest is popular, I could hold some kind of drabble contest, year-round, with rounds? As in, each month there would be a theme for the drabble (which is a piece of fiction that is as close to 100 words long as humanly possible), and during that month people could post their drabbles. Then, at the end of the month I'd judge them, give a prize for the best one or two, and then have a new theme for the next month?
Only if people were interested though. I don't want to get ahead of myself. rofl

I am thinking of perhaps using a prompt for the theme and using a small list of words that you get extra points if you use each word. It will probably be constructed this weekend and up.
The length this contest will be running for is three weeks, more if people want. The judges will be Rayne and I so far. If one more person wanted to volunteer to be one, please say but you will not be able to enter any pieces.
I am hoping to run this Official Post Your Progress competition every month or two (what do you think?).

That sounds good. Although, we can always make it less often if people don't want to participate as much as that. :3
I might actually do that drabble contest for a bit of light fun, if that's okay with you guys?

A drabble? I've never heard of that, but it sounds interesting. It reminds me of the 100 character limit for book descriptions. It's always fun trying to make those up @.o

Awesome! =D
Chanthar: I hadn't heard of it until last year. It's really awesome, though, trying to make a story out of 100 words. Difficult, but lots of fun. <3
