I completely agree with the afore posted statements, and hereby add my name to the list of people who would really enjoy having the RP in the forums.

If you are indeed recruiting, may I reserve a spot as Watson? That is, if we were to use the cast

We shan't be using the cast. You may, however, play a Watson-inspired character. Scientific finds, autopsies, fingerprint dusting etc etc.

Ah. I apologize for my lack of reading the posts ^^

If I am to be playing a Watson-type character, I am going to need a partner in crime, a Holmes to my Watson, if you will. x3

Sorry I was absent for so long, but I fear that this may become a trend. Specifically, I don't think I'll have a chance to get online more than 3 times per week. However, I will throw out suggestions when I have them. Right now, I'd say that we should get to building the storyline so that I know what we're working on. Perhaps incorporating all 3 aforementioned elements into the main plot? Perhaps the criminals are combating some sort of robotics-introduction law that would cut into their black-market profit margins, creating the need to kill several key figures in order to topple the balance of power in the local government. I'm not sure where to fit the theft, but this is all very spur-of-the-moment.

If think we should go for an ambitious story incorporating all three. Perhaps an evil mastermind needs to steal some priceless artefact to power a device which will let him take over the world. The usual overblown plot but dealt with on a small scale in typical sherlock holmes fashion. Im up for it anyway.

Jolly good! This "taking over the world" business is overrated. I say we stick the true object of their desire, the moneyz. Overblown, however, I do like. If overthrowing a government, let's keep it at Britain, kay? And then a key theft which will somehow enable the culprit(s) to take control after the assassinations?

Regarding the motive for the overthrowing, I suggest we leave it for now and explore it later, during the RP.

Yeah... the character set-up is slightly fuzzy for now. When we get the plot more in order, I will be sure to get back to you and everyone else interested to see how we can all wiggle in. There may not be a character like Sherlock, that is, a character that is the "main" mystery-solver.

I hope that you will forgive my double post. I simply find it oh-so amusing that they just released deerstalker caps.

Lol it's about time they came out with them!
As for automatrons, I'm not too concerned about our robot situation right now, but I'll keep that in mind. I'll have to research them...

Okay, I'm going to attempt to keep up with all the other posts...

I think the overthrowing of a government could be easily connected to assassinations, and that sounds lime a fun plot to me. I don't know how easily grand theft would fit in, but I'm open to involving it too. Maybe, like S said, the theft would have something to do with the assassinations. Perhaps pertaining to our robots?

Don't worry, Ellorie. I'm the same way. Wow, did you throw that plot together just then? Pretty creative. I like it.

Taking over the world is a bit much. I say we keep it local, aka Britain. And yes, money as well as power ought to be the main motivation.

Still here!

Anyway, I agree that the motivation shouldn't be discussed just yet (or on a thread for all to see), but I'd feel better if we had at least a general direction for the plot. I'll leave it at that, since I don't think I really have anything else to add. ;^^

Well, this has me swayed to join. On a single condition, though. I am a villain for the "Holmes" and "Watson" duplicates. I fancy a man with a devil's brilliance. Perhaps a character that makes homage to a certain Professor Moriarty?

I'm afraid characters will not be versions straight out of the book. There will be criminal masterminds (such as the one played by myself) but none obviously a parody of any character.

Say guyz! Guyz! If anyone is interested, Steam has a whole plethora of Sherlock Holmes adventure games, including amongst other things battling a Cthulhu cult and trying to stop Jack the Ripper. -_Q
If you happen to be of the suspicious type, then you can try before you buy with the free demos.

If only my lappy was a bit faster. ;_;

Oh, mine won't be. I'm just picking certain traits from Moriarty and adding them to my OC as one adds sugar to tea or an extra piece of carrot to beef stew.

XD Great analogy! Behatz is our head villain, and all darkly matter are, I would say, pretty much up to him. I'm open to anything, but he must approve of your character's role in the RP.
Now, I must apologize for my absences, both those in past and those to come. I am thoroughly embarrassed, and I must ask for your forgiveness and understanding.
Hm, Annie, this intrigues me, but I'm not allowed to download or buy anything on the computer! D:
I'm rereading Howl's Moving Castle for my research paper, but after that, I shall begin The Complete Sherlock Holmes, volume 1 (apparently "complete" means "half-complete"). I'm positive this will give me a plethora of ideas!
Again with my apologies, I am sorry the RP is taking so long to take off. However, this will give us an ample amount of time to plan and recruit! c:

Just as a fleeting idea, what would you say to us possibly incorporating other (similar) literature into the role-play? It's just a passing thought, nothing to take too seriously, so I won't be offended if the answer is "no;" I just had some vague image of a Jekyl/Hyde inspired detective character from rereading the story yesterday. ;^^
