I don't think it's as much where you go, but how you use the place you go to your best advantage.
Personally, I like fairs and circuses (part of me wants to say circii) and the such. Someplace where if it is a first date, there are people around, but there are places to get away. Not like going on the ferris wheel, but like going on the Merry Go Round and just joking and having a blast. It has a very positive atmosphere, nostalgic, and yet carefree.
I also like being taken to museums. Museums, because you can talk and discuss the art pieces, with it still being intellectual. This would be for a little nicer date in some ways, but not as childish. Plus, I love museums, and it would be cool to see how the other person would react to art, or perhaps items, and such in their own way.
Those are two of the best date locations. 3nodding

i think that the best place to go is someplace that you either both really like or at least one person likes and you can take turns. say one week you go to a jazz club cause she likes jazz music, then next week go get tapas cause he likes spanish food. it's really the thought that comes in i think.
it also helps to have a relaxed atmosphere...a little alcohol never did anyone any harm i think as long as you don't get too hammered, cause you do want to remember this experience. one of the better dates i've been on has been to a bar that had jazz music one night. it was nice, the lights were down low, cool atmosphere, good company. that's really all i would need 3nodding

Let's see. I'm not too sure I could mention the 'best place to date' because so many things come into it. A girl might not be into the cinema, but might be a sucker for say, a trip to a secluded beach.
But, if I had to be forced into saying things, i'd have to admit i'm a sucker for anything where there's lots of fun. I would likely take a girl out to a videogame arcade, for example, because its' fun, light and not too "i'm trying to get into your pants". A cinema, however, is too cliche.
And i'm not a big fan of cliche places.
Maybe instead of a walk down the moonlight beach, i'd take a girl on a stroll down the harbourside, or visit a pier in the dying light of dusk.
I don't know. I usually require a small tipple of alcohol to lighten up enough, but a bar would end up making me drunk and throwing up on the girl. Not a good thing. 3

i'm also a huge fan of walks! they're romantic, cheap, and you actually get a chance to talk which is the best part i think 3nodding a walk by the river in cool part of town is great, cause you see the skyline and if it gets cold, well you can go in for a cuddle too whee

May not be expensive nor very romatnic, but it is slightly, and you get to have peace and quiet with your love

Ice skating! Definately good for the winter. My boyfriend and I went ice skating and it was very fun, holding hands and trying to keep one another from falling face-first onto the ice. (I used to be a good skater.)
Summer...Beach. Not only are you already mostly naked and lathering each other up with shiney, oily, suntan lotion, but it's fun.
Also (and this may not be an option for some, but if you live in the suburbs) travling to the city for a day sounds like a good date to me. Now that my boyfriend and I are coming to our 1-year anniversary, I've been pondering over taking him there (since he doesn't go often). I think I'm going to take him to the Bronx Zoo, just because he's silly like that.

Wherever the man feels most comfortable in actually, oh I don't know, doing things is fine with me. Some guys do anything anywhere, but others are so hesitant even for a first kiss. It bugs me when boys are so slow to try anything, even if you've been together a while.

I suppose it would all depend on the type of person you're with, but I love going to see scary movies. I'm a very jumpy person, and if something pops out, I'll be all over my date, clinging for my life.
If it's summer, I would suggest buying an ice cream and walking down the beach or park. There's also cruising down the shopping district (but only window shop unless both of you want to go in the store) Then there's the arcade. Dance Dance Revoltion can be enjoyed by anyone 3nodding
In winter, building snow men or just goofing around outside in the snow, then going inside for hot chocolate and a snuggle. Ice skating, and skiing/snowboarding are a couple of my favorites too.
