it sounds like you have made your mind up not to become a christain, so why should we bother to convince you? You have already said to 4shi that
"Your going to have to make good behinds"
I don't mean to be mean about it, but this is almost pointless

ps- i came across thiss because my sister was playing about with my gaia, I am supposed to be in chatter box. I will not reply to any retaliation, I won't be back onto this forum. So i am solely posting for gold. Sorry

I think that it is good to want something solid to base ones beliefs on. Also I'm not sure if it is entirely religion you seek to fill your hole.. I think you might just need to find your purpose in life. Try some creative outlets, getting to know more people. Try to find something you enjoy and throw yourself into it.

If you dont feel a connection to Jesus or whatever, Christianity isnt for you.

Gaia isn't necessarily a place to get answers, merely opinions. That said, if you're looking for a good reason, I'll provide the most obvious.

The basis for searching and finding the right religion boils down to:

Whether or not you want to risk living in peace or suffering in darkness, forevermore.

Wow, Pascal's Wager, never heard that one before ...

You're risking hell if Islam is right. What if some other religion, which doesn't preach some sort of hell is right? Should we just believe the scariest one?
And if there is no god, you're wasting your only, finite life dedicating it to something not real.

Well for one, death is a part of life, I don't want to make myself uncaring, but I shunned religion months before my mom died. I have to say, her death wouldn't have hindered my beliefs. If I had an answer for this, it would have to be that all religion focuses that god knows what's going to happen. So if you were a christian, and there is a god, he was trying to help you get ready to face this.

If god is all-knowing and all-powerful, not to mention that he supposedly created everything, he is ultimately responsible for everything that happens.

Ben Rack
i was raised christian till 12 my mom and dad died in a car accident going to the store i never really paid attention to god after that now i just dont see why i should even believe in a god who kills people and if they didnt love him burns them for eternity
As I say when in a religious debate...
"SIG HEIL TO JEHOVAH!" with a Nazi Salute.
But thats only when I feel like being a jerk... He burns people who don't love him for eternity because he is, in fact, omnipotent/omnibenevolent, his ruling is right, and if you don't like it, then you go to hell for not following what is obviously right
That works great if he actually is, but for all we know that's just propaganda.

Not especially, Islam has less backing it then Christianity and we're all a complete and total waste if there is no god or God. I'd rather live with the delusional there is a God because I'll never find out I'm wrong, then live as if there is none and found I've missed out.

And yes, He is responsible, which is why He's gonna put it all to right.

Or whether or not you wish to believe in a god that would condemn you to suffering in darkness forevermore wink

Eh, if you don't like christianity, don't bother with it. I think only a small percent of professed christians actually practice what Jesus taught anyway. Just...analyze your beliefs and find a religion or practice that agrees with them. The religion should agree with you, not the other way around. Good luck with life, by the way.

Personally, I view Father as a neutral force. I try to understand Him, but He's a bit of a messed up mind if you ask me. Little hypocrosy here, some death there, life in that other place. I swear He's half insane by our standards. lol. The Bible seems to be a device that can show you your beliefs by the way you translate the messages. I think I'm beginning to follow LeVay Satanism by listening to Jesus. Try reading that book and see if that helps anything..

Why is everyone talking like everybody must have a religion? Everyone is saying you should find a religion that suits you the most. Why? Your beliefs are what they are, you don't need some sort of religion to make it more legit.
