My mom works at Big Lots(they've also been getting Christmas since July), and she told me about a four year old girl with her dad looking at the Christmas stuff, and the little girl turned to her dad and said:
"Daddy, where's the Thanksgiving stuff?"
You KNOW it's too early for Christmas when the kids say it's too early. xd

Eikouden
Heck, on ABC Family, they've started 25 nights of christmas already...
...but it doesn't add up for me >_> it's WAAAY over 25 nights of christmas.
I noticed that too and was just, '...Wait what?'
I can understand getting stuff in stores early for like...layaway and because of the economy and all, but TV stuff is a bit much. ~_~

{Sunrise}//(Make me feel life) (Sunset)//{Make me feel love} I get yelled sometimes for this.....but I really, really dislike Christmas. I hate Christmas decorations, Christmas music, the presents, the annoying commercials.....just all the superficial stuff about it annoys the hell out of me.
I do, however, like Christmas day itself. I love meeting up with my family, opening presents, and having Christmas dinner. But all the days leading up to Christmas annoys me.
Which is why I prefer Thanksgiving over Christmas.

I must admit I pull out the Christmas music as soon as Halloween is over...or before. What can I say I love Christmas music.

I don't like what most of society makes of Christmas, which is why we have Jena know the real meaning of Christmas and not believe in Santa. If you guys do it, that's your decision and I'm not saying you're wrong. I just don't agree with it is what I'm saying.
Speaking of which... guess who showed up apparently just a few days after Halloween in the mall? Yeah... that's right... Santa....
I wish people would see this holiday as more family thing or maybe even religious. Because pushing yourself to buy buy buy is does not make one happy.

lol Eikou!
I agree with Kira majorly on this. Christmas is supposed to be a time for families to come together and spend the holidays together enjoying the other's company and being happy. Now a days it's all "BUY THIS BEFORE THE $10 SALE ENDS IN 5 MINS!!"
It torks me off to no end. it's like 'have material items taken over what we should be doing, being together?'
Everything is so damn commercial now, it's unbelievable. >.>

I went into a store at the mall a couple days before remembrance day and they already were playing christmas carols in the store. I was all 'WTF! Wait until after November 11th kthx!'
I always talk to my friend Linda in Croatia. She explains that christmas over there just involves getting together and eating lots of good food. I feel the same way. My favourite things I did at christmas weren't the presents and stuff, but playing christmas songs while putting up the ornaments. Me and my sisters always fought to put the angel on the top of our artificial blue spruce (which we also put blue lights on). I liked going to my aunts house, stuffing myself with the delicious sugar cookies and gingerbread that she made, playing with the kids, just having an all around good time. Christmas for me as a kid was playing Raffi songs (some of which still are memorable to play). I think my sister still loves Raffi's little toy trains song. She'd sing it even when christmas was over. It will be interesting to come home for christmas for those few weeks. I don't get to help put up decorations this year. which sucks... *shrugs* At least the holidays will be entertaining.

I remember at the beginning of October, Kmart had ONE isle dedicated to Halloween (decorations and costumes!!!) and they already had FOUR dedicated to Christmas. I'm really pissed off at Kmart because come Fourth of July (I get really into that), they have NOTHING patriotic. No flags, nothing. Gee Gee Kmart. And when I go to eat someplace, they always play Christmas songs (at the beginning of this month).
My family ignores it all until Thanksgiving where after dinner (and cleanup oh gawd TT n TT) we put up the Christmas tree together. ^ u ^ Its fun to do cuz we're all tired from the turkey. I can't wait to introduce Luna to the Christmas tree. Mimi loved it, and I think Luna is going to be just as a handful (if not more) with the tree because she's such a climber! ; A ; My ornaments are going to be stolen off the tree I fear.

i was in a McDonald's in Manhattan and they were playing Christmas music, and had decorations up. People on campus are starting to get decorative. I'm like at least let Thanksgiving pass by...gosh.

My workplace did the exact same thing. They skipped right freakin' over Halloween and put Christmas decorations up as soon as October started. I was so confused.
Don't get me wrong, I love Christmas and all that jazz, but there is such a thing as starting waaay too early. gonk
