I was just sitting (on the side of the freeway) in the car (waiting for my girl), and I heard Chop Suey! And... I was like... "s**t. This is awesome." And I began anticipating the lovely reality-defying songs of the heavens that were by System of a Down... And THEN, I heard Spiders, Toxicity, Sugar, Aerials... I was like, "DAMN." Then, I bought the Toxicity CD, and I was like, "F***." I was, certainly, hooked by then. SO, I bought all the CDs I could, and listened to them, and I was like, "What the HELL. I'm out of expletives." And that is the severely abbreviated version of my fandom. -nodnod-

Dark N Daisuke no Kage I first got into System right after Toxicity was released. I was at a friend's house and he said someone burned him a copy of a "weird CD". We listened to it, and it was Toxicity. XD
I can mostly remember hearing Forest, Bounce, and Science, but I was instantly in love. Now they are my favorite band and I consider myself the most hardcore fan in my entire High School. >D
Oh, by the way, where do you live Dark N? 89X is also a local new rock station around here. o__o Haha, 'weird CD'. A few days after I got Toxicity I went to my cousin's house and we had a little family gathering thing. I was listening to it on my CD player and my cousin was like, "Whatcha listening to?" And I told her "System of a Down" and she was like, "Hey, that's the band with the guy with the crazy beard!" or something. xd
I live in Michigan, near Detroit. Woah, me too. O:
Except I live closer to Toledo.

One or two years ago, I was drinking extremely aged wine and inhaling compressed air.
My friend Nick sent me Chic 'n' Stu and I thought it was the funniest thing in the world at the time..
0,o
It was on my computer until my harddrive got fried, and I didn't hear them again until B.Y.O.B. came out. I thought Daron was so ******** cool so I looked into them and discovered that Nick had been trying to get me into them for a long time.
gonk
Nothing special, really.

Mr. Kennedy Ah... Damn it... Well I guess it was Chop Suey which was put on to me because of my freind. He said I should listen to them so... I did. Loved it, then loved them for Aerials. I liked softer rock back then. How naive I was. xd Rammstein and SOAD all day now! Same here! The first time I listened to SOAD was in the bus with a friend of mine. He had gotten toxicity from another friend who had picked it up randomly. When I listened to it i wasn't really into it. It's only once I listened to I-E-A-E-A-O that I really started to like the band and managed in two years to purchase all theyre CD's!!! But I am also into Rammstein.... xd xd xd xd

of course I remember surprised It was February 17 2005. (quite recently yes) and my best friend (who was new last year) burned me a cd, one of the songs on it was toxicity. It was just a song that sounded like no other song I had ever heard, it was so unique and his voice was so gorgey ^^ I looked at the sheet that had the band names and song numbers and stuff she had made and goooooogled System, I went to their site and heard BYOB and watched the music videos, I fell in love with Spiders, Chop Suey and the other good videos that were there... and I borrowed my friends mezmerize cd when it came out (I have yet to buy it, I have a burned copy ><) after that I bought Toxicity in the summer, Self titled about a month later, and Steal this Albumt the week after that. I bought Hypnotize the day it came out and I am simply in love, I dont think I could get along without my daily soad fix 3nodding my favourite (rather most sentimental) song of theirs will always be Toxicity because it was the first ever... of course Highway Song is just so gorgeous... (heehee) and really my only complaint is Mind, I hate that song *cringe* I am never going to forget the day I first heard Toxicity, it marked an age of annoying my mother's classical and gospel music-loving ears twisted and my sisters rap loving ears scream my Dad simply does not care.
