((Began here.)) Aruna was obviously upset by this sudden news. However, this was a chance for her to redeem herself. With the previous campaigners injured, there would be a need for her services. She still had in her possession dozens of potions, elixirs, and concoctions of various sorts from her past profession.
When the Hostess Club became empty, Aruna placed a closed sign in the window. Quickly, she rushed up the stairs(as fast as a snake woman could climb steps) and to her room. The orange-red nagini plucked the gold and white feathers from her head and tossed them along with all of the jewelry she wore that day on her dresser. She then undressed and threw her saloon-styled dress onto the floor almost violently. At this point she didn’t care the condition of her clothes. “How could I have been so stupid,” she questioned to herself as she pulled a light tan hood from a drawer. “I shouldn’t have hesitated.” The woman put on suitable garments for the desert. She didn’t have to wear very many layers to protect herself from the extreme sunlight. And because the female naga was cold-blooded, the warm dry heat would actually help her body run more efficiently.
Just before she left the café, Aruna filled a brown purse with many small bottles of potions and elixirs as well as plenty of different herbs just in case. Now she was ready for the long expedition to Sentria.
Slithering across the cobblestones, the snake woman headed towards Castle Eyris. The trip there was unusually quiet. Where did everyone go? Normally people crowded the business district but now there wasn’t a soul in sight. How strange. She shrugged it off though. The sooner she reached the castle the sooner they could depart for Pentheus.
Upon reaching her destination, Aruna notice a small druid sitting on the stairs reading a strange book about illness of the mind. “Excuse me,’ the nagini addressed to Rei. “Do you know where I can find the Guard section of the castle?” She felt a bit foolish for asking a child for directions but all of the nearby knights were too busy to talk to the red-headed woman.※ ※ ※ ※ ※ ※ ※ ※ ※ ※ ※ ※ ※ ※ ※ ※ ※ ※ ※ ※ After helping Isadora fight the insane magic user, Rad, Lethe heard an announcement coming from another castle guard. Apparently, the guild needed members for a mission across the country’s border. Seeing this as an opportunity to see first-hand how FEF’s army operated, the Gallian warrior decided to join as a temporary recruit. Besides if she didn’t, she probably would have had to aid the dame knight chase down a unclothed, oily beorc who was hard of hearing. Not a pleasant experience by the sound of it. The cat laguz had enough of those crazy humans. A military setting is just what she needed to calm down.
Dressed once again in a dark brown cloak, Lethe traveled the main street to the castle. Roads were fairly empty thanks to the guards regaining control of the general public. People were either in safe shelters or in the medical ward. The orange feline entered Eyris Castle and walked with a fast pace straight to the Guard section. On her person, she carried a full vulnerary, a canteen of water, and a small pouch of Olivi Grass. Hopefully that would be enough for this journey to and from Sentria.

Shaking now, trembling,is a light all alone not a thing to heal the pain...it disappears -Ephraim- -------------------- (( Time jump a little for Ephraim as well, and if you see major typos. Blame the fact that I got smacked by a lightsaber kid yesturday and it totally popped my wrist lol...but its doing ok so far, but beware of Typos if there are any )) For only a short while, Ephraim left the group in search of a weapon dealer that will actually have something he could use. Sadly this town didn't have much to offer in the lance category, all they had were Iron lances and Javelins. It disappointed him greatly because in this area, those would break easily. Not once single steel or silver lance.. "..Hmm.." he pondered, wondering where in town he hadn't even checked that could possibly sell him something that was at least decent. He walked around for a little more until he came to a strange building. He looked up, perhaps this might have something. Hey, what the heck, it was better then nothing and he really needed something. Ephraim approached the building and pushed open the wooden door. It creeked softly, the floors let out soft thumps as he walked on them. It was run down alright, the smell of mold was kind of strong and it burned the lancer's smell just a smidge. Well at least THIS store had something the only thing that caught his eyes in this store was probably the Killer lance sitting against the wall. If Ephraim had any other choice, he'd go against it but that was the only thing decent in this store. He knew how much it cost, Ephraim gestured toward the crimson lance and paid the shop owner. "Better then being unarmed.."He returned to the group in time for Mihira to return with news.. good news about reinforcements on their way. But the fact that Roy had run off on his own was definetly not good news. They were ordered to move out while the wyvern rider stayed to wait for the others. Ephraim stood quiet for a moment, then ran after Deborah. ((aaand..I need to ice my wrist now)) -------------------- with no return, the memories flow all being swept away toward the end of this world

After having to leave the Hostess Club, since they had to close for some reason, Ziaram went out, only to hear the watch's warning out, he swiftly reached down and grabbed his killing edge, to make sue it was there, as well as his light brand and that bloody rapier that was used on him some odd time ago. "Excellent...now to see how I can help."

Rei was already bored with his book, the text being wonderfully useless, despite the cover. Mental illnesses caused by little devils? Pure rubbish! But, Rei kept reading, expecting the book to take a turn for the sensical.
Well, until Aruna got his attention. Not only did he not recognize her voice, having never seen her, but her lower half was that of a snake! He hurriedly closed his book and placed it in his pocket, where his old one had once been. Rei took a minute to just stare at Aruna, ignoring the fact that she may find it offensive. One doesn't see a nagini every day, of course.
"Well, this is the Guard section, right here. But... I've got to be serious, miss." A sheepish grin came onto his face. "I'm sorry, but you're not some sort of sentient Gorgon, are you? It's just that..." The sheepish smile went to sheepish laughter, the Druid half-expecting the woman to slap him. "... We don't see people with a snake's body like that too often."

Tibarn was exhausted. Ayra wasn't in the apartment when he arrived, and after their fight, that was just as well. He slowly stepped into little Vah's bedroom, and smiled as she ran to his side. "Hey, little one," he sighed, reaching down to pet her head. "Have you been good?""I been colorin'!" she said, pointing excitedly at an open book before running back to it. Her father crouched down to see as she carried it back to him, and took it carefully in his hands.
"Interesting color choices.""The sky is red 'cause 'cause I like when the sky's like that, an' that big green bird is you daddy, an' that's Miss Blossom's house an' that's Miss Lyre's," she said hurriedly, pointing at her picture excitedly.
"I see! That's very good, Vah," he murmured, leaning down to kiss her blonde head. Gently, he stroked her hair, then let her down and stretched. "Daddy's had a long day... Come on in, and daddy will make you some dinner and then he's gonna take a little nap." Little Vah followed him into the kitchen, and soon enough was full of chicken and back to coloring while Tibarn lay down in bed and stared at the ceiling.
He shook his head slowly. "Gods, I'll never get to--" He was speeding through the forest. Again.
"Oh goddess, no no no, wake up, not again, please goddess no..."
The morph Vaherianslyeri stared at him, tears pouring down her cheeks as the flames consumed her. In her arms, she held his very own daughter, watching him with the same forlorn expression. He backed away, staring at them, swallowing hard. "Stop... stop looking at me, it... it wasn't my..." He turned away only to see an expanse of dead and dying herons, and in the middle of them all, Ayra, burnt and broken by Naglfar. "I was just trying to save you! It's not my--"
He sat up sharply in bed, chest heaving.
By that evening, a letter of resignation appeared on Rath's desk. "I am a double-edged sword," it said, among the more clear and legal terms. "It is time I became a ploughshare."

Aruna watched the boy’s blue eyes fixate on her scaly lower half. Feeling like she was on display, she coiled the part of her tail she didn’t need for balancing her torso. His stares began to irritate the woman more and more with each passing second. The young druid had just crossed the point of being rude.
She heard him say they were at the guard section, but he didn’t get her full attention until he changed the subject to her. A smile came to his face as the child spoke. What was he smiling about? Did the orange-red nagini amuse him in some way? Anger began to swell up slowly inside her. Those words that came out of his mouth, “I’m sorry,” sounded false. They were not apologetic at all. He didn’t regret what he was about to say. In fact Rei laughed after saying them. It was like he enjoyed mocking her race. “I am not one of those vile she devils! How dare you!” The female naga brought her hand up to strike the bright green-haired boy across the face. Pleading ignorance wouldn’t aid in getting him forgiveness because of that ridiculing tone.

Rei fell to the ground, landing on his chest after the slap. He stayed there, kneeling, silently. His breathing was short and quick, like adrenaline was rushing through him, driving him to counter her blow.
Rei began to laugh.
Soon, he was on his back, almost rolling across the ground in laughter. Tears began to form in his eyes as he began to calm as an action of his own body. He would soon run out of air, at this rate! In as much time as he had been in an exchange with the nagini, he had already been laughing like an asylum attendant, and was now bringing himself back to his feet. With a smile, he began to speak to the woman.
"Apologies, I've just had a rather..." He paused, looking up at the sky in an attempt to find the right word. "...harrowing, I like that word. I've had a very harrowing day, today. Surely you've seen the townspeople's behavior?" For one not to have seen what the masses were doing, they would have to be some sort of oblivious, or they just stayed inside all day. But, this woman seemed nice enough, so it wouldn't hurt to be nice back, regardless of how much the earlier part of the day sucked.
"So, my name is Rei. I'm a Druid, a user of "dark" magic." He even used the airquotes. "And you are, miss?" Really, he didn't expect his shrugging off of the situation to work too well, but if she'd seen the insanity around town, he might get a break. If not, then... the next time she smacks him, he may just stay down on the ground.

Aruna held her hand, the one she had slapped the young druid with, close to her chest. That act of violence released some of her anger, but not all. As the boy lay on the ground, she glared at him with great intensity. Again he laughed that irritating laugh. This time with a much higher magnitude. The snake woman was tempted to hit him again if only to stop the mockery.
Every time he tried to apologize, it became harder for her to believe Rei actually meant it. “I have not,” she replied honestly. “I was at the Hostess Café all day long. Did something particular happen?” Aruna tilted her head to slightly to the left. The only unusual things she witnessed were an idiot in a cow suit getting squished by Ganon then being thrown out of the club and a swordsman imagining a black dragon attacking him.
Rei introduced himself in a friendly manner. The red-headed nagini might as well return the favor even though he didn’t deserve it in her opinion. “My name is Aruna. I am an apprentice medi-” She stopped herself midway and paused for a brief moment. “No. Not any more. I no longer travel that path,” she thought. “I work as a waitress at a local club in the business district.”

Rei smiled kindly at Aruna, extending a hand in typical handshakey fashion. Aruna was nice enough to introduce herself, so maybe he didn't make her hate him entirely yet. "Ah, you were inside all day, aren't you lucky? You missed the hordes of idiots about the streets, you did."
He stood in front of her, and then gestured with his free hand towards the road behind them. "So, I was just walking around, and I sat down on a bench. People were shouting all of that 'the end is nigh' stuff to the skies, for one thing. And then, these two guys started to fight." He pulled his hands into a slingshot-firing position. "One guy used a slingshot and did all sorts of stuff. He made it rain, made thunder, it was weird. The other guy," Rei began waving his arms around like an angry child. ", he was some angry screaming mage or something. They went at it, but I stopped paying attention by the end."
Rei began pacing back and forth across the open road, and then broke into a skip. "Then, I ran into this pair of skipping children. And they tried to kill me with food. Like, a danish filled with lethal goo." Rei didn't really know what mercury was, so it was simply 'goo' to him. "And they had knives and stuff, too. The boy," Rei curled his hands into fists, and began punching at the air. "He put glass in his hand and tried to punch me with it. And the girl," Rei began to make throwing motions with his hands. "she started throwing all sorts of things at me, from that danish I mentioned to a spike..." He trailed off, all the energy draining out of him as the majority of the pantomime finished. "Did I tell you that they had a rotting, severed arm in a picnic basket?" Rei knew he didn't but it wasn't exactly something one would be able to slip into casual conversation.
...Hopefully, Aruna didn't think he was telling an over-elaborate lie to gain himself some sympathy for his earlier reaction. Then, she'd probably smack him again, and he wouldn't laugh, that time. The energy was gone, so he rummaged around in his pockets, and pulled out both Wesley's Switchblade and his now gnarled Berserk staff, showing off the bloodstained blade and notched, battered wooden shaft. "See, I forgot to get rid of the boy's knife, and here's the staff he mangled." If it were any other day, he'd be more apathetic about whether some random woman believed him, but this day would be one to remember, if only for the storytelling value. He couldn't very well have people discrediting him!

Aruna just stared at his extended hand. Normally this was a sign of friendship or at least some sort of bond between two people. No, she would not shake his hand. The druid hadn’t earned her trust just yet. A woman never forgets an insult.
She watched as he reenacted his adventure of the day. This kid must have had too much sugar this morning. What kind of cereal did his mom give him for breakfast? Candy Puffs with chocolate syrup instead of milk? Aruna thought Rei had quite the imagination. To think up a pair of murderous children who fought with old food, he must be creative to say the least.
He was telling a horrified fairy tale. Then when his story was finished, the boy pulled out a bloody knife and damaged staff. The unique hostess gasped. “Those are some dangerous toys. Do your parents know you have them?” she asked nervously. “If what you say is true, why are you here? Aren’t you a little disturbed by what happened?”

If they wished to keep their mission a secret, they should be more careful when there were spies among the mist. Oh, yes. Indeed, they should. For when the group had made their appearance out of thin air, they had spooked a spy who was having a lunch break in Pantheus. Why was the spy doing in Pantheus? Well, one could merely say he was spying on the fishing trade of Learania. Knowing the economic of one's country helped another. No?
The spy would have fled when seeing that group's appearance. Oh, yes. Indeed, he would. But seeing them appeared out of nowhere would mean that something was among the mist. Therefore, the spy had kept his distance from the group, pretending that he was looking at the map. From there, he listened the group's tale, of what had happened to them in the desert and the story of Razevi. When the spy heard the word, mask, the spy knew what he must do. The spy listened every word that the group spoke until they had finished their conversation. The spy then walked away, away from the group, and out to the stable. After renting a horse, the spy rode out of Pantheus and rode off to Estarcia. Along the way, he met another fellow spy, who had just come from Eyris. Together they rode into the Estarcian ground and headed to Mordache. However, as they rode, they ran into a fellow jester.
Usually, people who were on a mission who ignored a fellow entertainer. But oh, no. Not this jester. For they had known who that silly jester was. The two spies informed the jester of what they had heard. One spy from Eyris informed him of what happened to the capital city; a city that ran amuck from crazed citizens and criminals. What could have caused it? No one knew. As for the spy from Panteus, he informed the Cheshire man what he heard from the group. The grinning jester rubbed his chin as he pondered on the information he had gathered.
"So the mask is in Sentria and the seal is broken too? Releasing a sorceress from her prison?" Pietro questioned. Oh, dear. This did not bold well on his mission. The baroness would not be pleased to hear that the mask they seek had the seal unbroken. Oh, yes. Indeed, it was tragic.
As for what had happened in Eyris, he did not care. His business with Learania was no concern with his mission or his dear homeland. However, he would have to alert his baroness about this. They had no knowledge of how did the disease affect the citizens; and if it spread rapidly across the continent, oh... It would surely affect his loving country. Oh, yes. Indeed, it would. Maybe their department of magic or the baroness would know what was the disease that plagued Eyris. Pietro looked up to one of his spies.
"Tell the baroness my deepest apology for not being by her side so soon. It seems that the mission I'm entrusted lies in Sentria. But do tell the baroness the information you two have informed me, for she will know my whereabouts as well as to prepare of this plague that swarm Learania's capital. Oh, yes. Indeed, you shall."
He then turned to another spy. "I want you to go to Sentria before my arrival and seek other spies to assist you. I want you and the spies to locate the mask's location. If you find the mask's location or any strange phenomenon, alert the baroness and myself immediately. We do not want to make haste and make the same mistake as those group did. Seek as many information as you can and don't do any action without the baroness' permission. She will surely skewer us if we do. Oh, yes. Indeed, she will."
The two spies nodded on the order they had given and went to their horses. They then rode off in two different directions; one headed to Mordache and one headed to Sentria. As they disappeared, the smiling jester let out a chuckled. "Oh, I wonder if dear Erik like to participate in this playscene. Oh, yes. Indeed, I wonder..."
((And by Erik, I mean Siegell. Oh, yes. Indeed, I do. For Siegell has reminded me so much of the talented musician from The Phantom of the Opera. You should see that play. It's quite superb. Oh, yes. Indeed, it is.))

Considering all that had been going on, FD's life had been surprisingly uneventful. He had breakfast at the Hostess Club, and headed home. There'd been a slew of activity going on in the streets at some point, but he'd refrained from getting caught in the middle of it. What could he have done anyway? FD had the curse of either being a very extreme solution to problems as a dragon, or not a solution at all when he wasn't transformed. And Flametonguing people in the streets did not seem like a wise idea. But he DID know there had been a call for additional aid from the guard for a trip to the desert. He'd decided against going the first time because in truth, what did he have to do with the single missing girl? Sure he felt bad about the situation, but he didn't feel a need to make it his business. He didn't even know the girl! But now, things seemed to have escalated. He saw the Druid Rei, a fellow Host Club member, with a snake-woman he'd recognized from the Hostess Club but didn't know the name of. "Rei, it's been a while. What's going on exactly? Do you know" FD asked the Druid. Rei often had an explanation for whatever strange things were going on in Learania. Perhaps he could relate the situation to the dragon.
(crap post, but whatever. I just need to get in the game more than anything :/)

Ninja_Maiden After helping Isadora fight the insane magic user, Rad, Lethe heard an announcement coming from another castle guard.
A hand reached out and snatched the back of Lethe's cloak, curtailing the fellow laguz in her journey.
"Lethe! You were going to march out without telling me?" Lyre frowned at her sibling, her own cloak not yet donned but clutched in a bundle beneath one arm.
"It's impossible to keep up with you, you know that?" Her voice purposely sounded hurt, although really she would have expected nothing less of her twin. Lethe was the one that went out and did things, and made changes are won wars... Lyre just got to tag along after, but she'd always be stuck behind Lethe- she just wasn't as strong or as brave (make that bullheaded).
"I ran back home after getting out of work, but you weren't there, and then there were all these crazed beorc everywhere, I wasn't really sure what to do... but then it seemed to clear up a bit, so I came here because I thought maybe you'd end up coming here too, so I guess you're going with the guard?"

Rei frowned just a bit at Aruna's decline of a handshake. The simplest of kind gestures, and she couldn't return it, even to a 'child' like him? Ah, no point in worrying about it. She can hate me if she wants, the stupid-
“Those are some dangerous toys. Do your parents know you have them?”
Rei winced. He really needed to stop forgetting about his mother. He'd heard through the grapevine that she was sick, but she had the entire castle at her beck and call, so she'd be fine. For now, at least.
“If what you say is true, why are you here? Aren’t you a little disturbed by what happened?”
"Well, Aruna, I just decided to ignore what I've already encountered today..." Rei shrugged his shoulders, a slight grin on his face. "And work towards helping my friends, instead of them helping me." Rei uncomfortably looked around, his gaze falling on FD. With a wave, he directed both his eyes and Aruna's towards the Manakete as he approached. "Well, look at this, it's FD! This..." Rei gestured with the staff towards the Nagini to his side. "... is Aruna. And this..." Rei put away the knife and staff, giving an expectant glare towards the castle behind him while gesturing towards the redhaired man in front of him. "...is a man we simply refer to as FD." He redirected his attention to the dragon. "Well, I can't say I know what's going on for sure, but there've been a lot of crazy people around town today..."

Suddenly the cat laguz felt her cloak snag. Lethe quickly turned to see what had caught the fabric. It was none other than Lyre grasping on to the older sibling.
“Lyre, I’m sorry,” she apologized. Honestly she felt only a little guilty for leaving her sister behind. But the Gallian warrior only did it to make sure her kin was safe. Lyre was the weaker of the twins so Lethe believed it was her duty to protect them. That was the job of most elder siblings after all.
“You can’t expect me to spend all day in that house waiting for you to get done with that beorc job of your’s. I needed to go for a walk,” she explained. “Although at times I wished I did stay. Those insane beorc gave me a headache.” Lethe massaged her temples. The feline could have continued on about her short battle with Rad, the crazy mage. However, she decided against it. Lyre probably would have called her foolish for fighting a water magic user.
“So I guess you're going with the guard?” Lethe nodded in response. “It would give me experience with the guild. Ever since leaving our homeland, I’ve been craving those battle scenarios. I am tired of being a house cat because I don’t know the ways of this world just yet. This is a good opportunity, Lyre.” The older sister looked into the younger’s eyes hoping she would understand.※ ※ ※ ※ ※ ※ ※ ※ ※ ※ ※ ※ ※ ※ ※ ※ ※ ※ ※ ※ When she refused to shake his hand, the boy seems a bit angry. Was he really offended because the woman wouldn’t clasp hands? Hmph. Now he felt only a small sliver of her resentment.
Rei then winced after she mentioned his parents. Perhaps that was a sore topic for the young druid. Aruna decided not to bring them up in conversation again. “ I just decided to ignore what I've already encountered today and work towards helping my friends, instead of them helping me.” The female naga’s ruby lips curled to a small smile. “I do not know if that is a noble decision or something else,” she commented in an amused tone. This child had his priorities in a good place, but sometimes people must be selfish. Of course that was just her own personal opinion.
Noticing him wave to another person, the redheaded hostess turned her attention to the newcomer. She recognized this man from earlier. He was with that large group the cat girl was tending to. As Rei introduced her, Aruna put her hands, one over the other, in front of her and bowed her head lightly. “It is a pleasure to meet you, FD.” Obviously she showed more respect to the dragon than to the druid next to her.
