“ But if everyone left to get the kid back, then why are you still here? In fact, why does this place bother staying open?” The tan-skinned woman hesitated a few minutes before answering his first question. Her reasoning drifted back into her mind. “...I didn’t want to be useless in front of the only man I have truly been attracted to. If something terrible happened to Ganon while he was protecting me, I would never be able to forgive myself,” she thought sorrowfully. Aruna opened her mouth to speak, but nothing came out. The nagini cleared her throat and began again. “I-I have my reasons,” she muttered unable to tell a lie or the complete truth. Hopefully it’ll be left at that. As for the second question it wasn’t her place to say. “I am not in charge of the café’s hours. Hatmon decided to try to cheer the community up with free mystery filling cakes. So far it worked to an extent. Why stop a good thing?”

Aruna asked Victoria if she wanted a drink. "Ah. If you have some tea with a little lemon kick to it, I'd love that." she replied sincerely, before again turning her attention to the theif, whom was a bit... defensive if she wanted to describe it in on word. What was eating him anyhow? It's not like anything bad was happening here.
It just seemed so slow. Lance even asked the question for her, why it was still open, but then the realization came. "Business must always go on, if I'm not mistaken." she said, speaking to all inside the room, really. "Even if a disaster strikes, or a problem arises... people have to get gold, don't they? This is... a way this fine hostess earns her bread. She can't close the door until the day is over no matter what might happen."
She said the words proudly, reminded of her own duties at the clinic. They were very honorable, and not just for the sake of inflating Victoria's own ego. The bishop was there to make people feel better, just like this Nagini was here to serve delicious dishes and drinks. "Oh... how rude of me. I haven't given my name. And here I am prattling on, I always do this." she chuckled at her own habits. "I am Sister Victoria Quinn, a bishop at the Eyris Infirmary. Today happens to be my day off, and I'm not listening to any messengers." She said the last part in almost spite, for she hadn't a vacation since Elimine knows when.

Looking over at Victoria, Ziaram raised an eyebrow, then said, bighop eh? Hmm...well I guess this shows my luck is a bit better now...maybe you could help me out with this little...problem I believe I am facing...since earlier, seeing a black dragon that went after no one but me seems unusual...yet no one else saw it...by chance would you know something that could help me out? Oh...how rude of me...the name is Ziaram."

Lance rubbed his temples as the snake woman and the bishop defended the reason for why the café stayed open. He just grumbled back. "Nevermind, I didn't really care to begin with." Frankly, from an economic standpoint, the café was wasting valuable resources staying open when there were no customers. The food items would go bad, the beverages would get warm...
But now he was just nit-picking. It's not like he could bother with it.
A brief moment of silence, Lance grumbled again as he spoke to Victoria. "Then why are you flaunting about with your profession? If you don't want any attention as a bishop, you don't talk about it. Now it's like you'll want special attention because of what you are."
Lance shrugged. "Not that it matters, but still."

Lance raised an eyebrow at the man that spoke to him. He had met him before...Lord Pent, was it? Or rather, he had met the Pent from Lance's...dimension. Nevertheless, he kept his eyebrow raised. "But they try to make a profit! They're selling the cakes! Those 'poor people' that handcrafted these cakes won't get paid if no one is buying anything! It's just--..."
He was about to complain about the lack of business sense the establishment had, when he realized, yet again, that he didn't really care. They could go bankrupt for all the cared. It was no business of his. "You know what, forget it. If everyone already left, I fail to see the point of staying here. Where did everyone go? Another party? Or did they finally recover their sanity to go after the little girl?" Lance asked to no one in particular, just trying to wring the tiniest speck of information from them.

"Hey, now." Victoria retorted to Lance, although not insulted (and certainly not feeling the need to be defended by her fellow countrymen), she was agitated, if only slightly. "Just because one loves what they do... well, it doesn't mean they do it their every waking moment. As for where everyone went, they're likely on a search."
She didn't let herself get angry. That would be a bad thing to do, to get thrown out and miss out on the sweets. Besides, she liked to enjoy the desserts, with company or otherwise. Nothing wrong with that, surely.

"A love for something you do...sounds familiar, yet I can't really remember...anyways, I think the others left to go look for that person's daughter...Alihi I think was her name."

“Ah. If you have some tea with a little lemon kick to it, I'd love that.” Aruna nodded her head upon hearing Victoria’s request. She traveled behind the bar to get the bishop’s drink. While she was pouring the tea, the snake woman began to wonder why Vika had missed work. Now that she thought about it, Vika wasn’t in for a couple of days now.
Upon hearing her name being used by Pent, the nagini’s attention snapped back to what was going on and being said. Aruna didn’t recall ever giving her name out. Although working at one of the most popular shops in Eyris probably helped rumors of the unique hostess spread. It flattered her.
“Please sir refrain from saying such hurtful things to the people who work hard to make these cakes by hand and serve them to the loyal customers that come through here. It may not seem like much to some, but it means everything to those who put their hard work and time into everything it takes to keep this shop going,” the count spoke to the theif. “But they try to make a profit! They're selling the cakes! Those 'poor people' that handcrafted these cakes won't get paid if no one is buying anything!” argued Lance back to Pent. “You know what, forget it.” Although he kept saying he didn’t care, Aruna had a feeling Lance really did. Why else would he bring business up in the first place? The topic finally seemed to die down and for the time being she would allow it. Right now the scaled waitress wanted peace. If things got out of hand, Ganon wasn’t around to intimidate the troublemakers.
Aruna slithered back to Victoria and placed the cup of lemony tea in front of her. “I hope it’s to your liking,” she said in reference to the beverage.
“Where did everyone go? Another party? Or did they finally recover their sanity to go after the little girl?” Again with this question? This man must have a short term memory. “They met at the city gates hours ago to travel to the desert country of Sentria. You won’t be able to catch up to them. They must be in Pentheus by now. I’m afraid to say this but it seems you missed out on the bandwagon, sir,” she replied in a serious voice.

Lance puffed out his cheeks at the snake woman's comment. He had only been gone for a few hours, and they must've stayed a bit after he left earlier. How long could they have gone? "Hmph. I believe you're underestimating me. The desert is difficult to cross unless you're used to travelling on it, such as me. And moving in a group tends to be slower than going alone, as you have to match everyone's paces together."
He then hung his head in defeat and sighed. "Though maybe you're right. They might already be finished and heading back by now. But what if it is the opposite? What if they're all dying, because they lacked those few individuals that could save them? I wouldn't want that sort of burden on my record."
He grabbed a small pouch at his belt and took our three gold pieces and placed it in the snake woman's palm. "Here, for our chat."
Lance then took off. Since coming to Learania, he had studied the geography of this world, so now he had a bigger idea of where to go. He jumped up on the horse he 'borrowed' from Finn, and started making his way to the city gate and from there to Pentheus. Though, to be fair, Lance didn't really know where anyone was, so finding them would be more out of chance than skill.

Aruna watched as Lance left the Hostess Club. He seemed like an interesting(and somewhat complex) individual. In the future, she hoped the dark-haired thief would visit more often. Not only because he carried on conversations(however rude they may be), but he was the first person all day to tip her. She had bills to pay too you know. Her elegant and decorative outfits didn’t pay for themselves.
Minutes later after things had again died down, a castle guard entered the café. “Attention, Attention! Your guildmates in Sentria are in peril! All those who wish to help, prepare yourselves, and quickly come to the Guard section of the castle,” he declared. At that moment, the nagini dropped the wooden tray she was carrying and covered her mouth. “H-how was that possible? Even with all those people... And Ganon.” She closed her eyes tightly. Her earlier regret quickly returned. Why did she choose to stay behind? Why did she willingly decline helping a mother in need? Why did she purposely separate herself from her current love interest? “Why?!”
The lone hostess opened her serpentine eyes again to gaze at the remaining club patrons. “I am truly sorry, but I need to close shop. If you would, please leave the café. Forgive my rudeness. You may grab as many free cakes as you want on your way out. I can’t work under these conditions...” The last comment she muttered under her breath.((Continued here.))
