"Quite a place you have here," Aislinn commented, surprised delight obvious in her features. She was fascinated by the glyphs carved into the walls. They reminded her of Egyptian symbols that she had once worked so hard to emulate in her art. Ash's art had different phases. Her earliest years were spent sketching flowers and butterflies and rainbows. A deep fascination with ancient cultures had occupied the next phase. After, she'd graduated to more realistic styles that eventually turned surreal under the influence of her parents' art. She'd had her Japanese anime phase and had settled into a style of semi-realism that quite suited her. But she never forgot the feeling she derived from sketching glyphs in different languages. She always felt as though she could write a spell with those odd symbols and cast magic like a witch. It had been an amusing fantasy and, in her defense, she'd only been about seven at the time.
She left Auri's side and crossed to one of the walls, running her fingers over the etchings and letting the sensitive pads of her fingertips feel the contours that marked a chisel's work.
Ash looked back to where Auri stood, clearly entranced with the place. "What does it mean?" She wanted to know, recognizing odd figures in the glyphs that bore a marked resemblance to Auri himself. "Did you carve these yourself?"

"Thank you"
It was clear she was quite fascinated by what the walls contained. Each image depicted a different scenario and all related to his life experiences. That is expect for the single cosmic eye that he had seen many times in dreams, not fully understanding its significance.
"Well basically this is my own autobiography you would say. I have not always had pleasant memories and a way for me to release them from my mind was to transition them to an external source. As you can see one character has a constant similarity with me."
He had scanned these walls many times and it did tell quite a story. From the early childhood terrors to the knowledge provided by his mentor that his eyes were a gift. His eyes were able to see the inner composition of all structures and the beauty of inner connectivity. He thought about this for an instant as he let Aislinn eyes survey the cavern walls.

Autobiographical... Aislinn looked at the pictures again. They were cast in quite a different light, now. The figures that bored a resemblance to Auri were Auri himself in different phases of his life. Ash could see that now. She could also see that his life had not been an easy one. She couldn't shake the notion that it had something to do with his eyes. They were a predominant theme that figured prominently in many of the scenes. There was also the picture devoted to a large, intricate iris that strengthened her notions.
She traced the blade of one of Auri's aggressors, paused, and looked back at him again, brow furrowed with distress, a small frown replacing her usual smile. Ever direct, she was not one to hide her emotions or keep her opinions to herself.
"They should not a' done that to ya," She said vehemently. Her eyes flashed to ready anger at Auri's past tormentors. If it were not for this area's calming effects, she might have lost her grip on her human form and phased out of distress.

As he finished speaking it was clear Ash's mood had changed. Many of the pictures bore some tragic past event and it had upset her to a point where he could see an animalistic rage in her eyes, although her body didn't reflect it. The eyes told a lot about the individual he had come to learn and the sudden shift in nature of her eyes had caught her attention. There was more to her than just being a shinigami.
"Not all invidiviuals make proper decisions at all times in their lives. The society at that time along with my family bore hate towards me but that was due to not taking the time to gain understanding before they make decisions. This was done in my case, leading to my isolation from society. I did however one who had great understanding of things and he guided me well. I bore no hate and only hope those who may consider something strange or fearful take the proper measures to understand whether or not something is actually an oddity. If I dwell in the past I shall never advance therefore I have encrypted my past on these walls allowing my mind free to work towards a future. A future I hope will allow for all understanding and being able to see that everything is truly connected. My eyes allow me to see this and I will try to get the world to see from my perspective. Then they may make informed decisions on how they will act."
He spoke this with deep passion as this had been his goal since understanding the value that his eyes presented. He could see what no one else could and it gave him a greater understanding of the world's functioning.

Ash dropped her hand away from the carved cavern wall, troubled. She couldn't imagine a family such as Auri's. She herself had grown up with two loving parents. They had always loved her, no matter her decisions or appearance, always supported her and cared for her. The idea that Auri had been deprived of such an upbringing made her sad. He didn't seem bitter about it, though. And he'd said he'd met a mentor who had helped him, so she supposed his life hadn't been too horrible. But the idea of unloving parents still didn't sit well with her.
"They fear what they don't understand," She said, repeating words her father had once spoken to her. That had been her first year of secondary school when she'd been the outsider from the beginning. Her yearmates had been afraid of her dark hair and skin, bright eyes and various piercings. She'd had a vague goth phase at that age, too, so dressing in dark colors had only made her more intimidating. T' be fair, y' look a bit scary, Ash love. Her dad had said that, too, but his eyes were crinkled with laughter, and she'd known he was just teasing her. After all, those in her secondary school had come to accept her-- love her, even-- in the end. All she had needed was a chance to prove herself contrary to her looks. "Bunch a' conservative prigs,"

It was clear his stories had an effect on her. It may have led her reflect on her own past experiences but their was no way to tell. He did not wish for her to feel any pity as he had moved on from this past.
"Well said they do fear what they do not understand and that is my purpose to bring understanding."
Wishing to continue this conversation and look on positives he would ask a little about her. She had peaked his interest and showed flashes of hidden character traits since they met. He wanted to gain a greater understanding of her.
"I'm glad you have not shunned away from my story. I am quite curious about yours. It seems their are many layers to you and it would only be appropriate if I knew some more about my guest."
He was unsure whether or not she would be open as he was. Feeling though that she had understood him to a degree she likely would be more open to the idea of exposing herself. It was no easy task talking about your inner being but he felt he had broken the ice.

"Not much t' know," Ash said, making an effort to smile for him even though she was still inwardly seething at the injustice done to him in the past. Again, she silently praised the creator of this hideaway with its calming effects. Auri did not have to see her phase if she could help it.
"Like I said, I'm in Tenth Division under Evil-taicho," She ticked off the facts on her fingers one by one. She purposefully neglected to mention her Lycan blood considering that she was unsure how the Soul Society at large accepted half breeds like herself. In theory, having suffered discrimination, he would not be so quick to judge her, but then, people had a funny way of surprising her. "Unseated, but not for long, I'm hoping. Before all that I was pretty normal. Nothing special 'bout me. I lived with my parents in a studio in Belfast. 'Was in my last year of secondary school when... Well, when I came here,"

( the calming effect is more the belief within the individuals mind of this place being a paradise)
"Evil is a great leader. You should learn much."
He had hear rumors about the 10th division and the fact they spent much of their time in the woods just beside avalon. He also heard of those woods nickname being the werewolves woods. Their was a reality within those rumors, that was one certainty. She continued on speaking briefly of her family life. He understood fully that she hesitated to go in details as they had just met. Certain individuals fear judgement of others. He was one who learned not to care about what others thought based on knowing most of the time their distates were unfounded.
"Well I'm glad you found your way eventually to the Sereitei. It seems as if its getting a bit dark. We should likely head back as the passage can be quite confusing at night."
He began walking back towards the cabin leading the way. She had not revealed much of her story but in time he would come to understand her. For now he was content to wait.

"I hope so," Ash said brightly. It was easy to talk about her captain and accept compliments for her Alpha. In any case she couldn't help but agree with Auri's assessment. After all, Evil wasn't just her captain and Alpha, but she was Pack, and Ash was exceptionally fond of her Pack. "She does seem like a wonderful leader,"
At his suggestion she followed him out of the cavern and back towards the shingled cottage. Her eyes seemed to glow oddly in the dark with a slightly predatory gleam. It was still quite easy for her to see in the semi-darkness, though whether this was due to the new lycan blood in her veins or the light of the rising moon, she didn't know.

They descended the sloppy bank which typically would be trouble at night for anyone. For him it was no ordeal to his ability to see all movements and structures in the dark. He also noticed that despite offering his hand on many occasions as they made their way down Ash did not seem to need it and seemed almost as comfortable as him in the dark. The glimmer of changing scenery in her eyes from early was now an official sign that their were more layers than Ash wished to reveal at this point. They reached the bottom of the bank in relative ease and were within reach of the cabin.
"Well it is quite late and getting cold. It may be wise for you to extent your stay the night. I have only one bed which you can use. I have no trouble sleeping elsewhere as I have slept on far worse. It is your choice though and do not feel compelled to stay."
He was quite uncertain what her response would be. He attempted to read her but it seemed her thoughts were somewhere else.

"Nah-- you take your bed," Ash said. Her eyes fairly glittered in the moonlight. She had other ideas. With a quick motion, she undid her sash and phased into her Lycan form just as it slipped past what was considered proper. The garment pooled at her feet-- or rather at her paws.
Her were form came to Auri's shoulder, all silvery fur and flashing blue eyes. She pulled her lips back in a wolfy grin, hoping Auri wouldn't take this revelation too hard. He'd been open enough to share his experiences with her, and it seemed just plain wrong to steal his bed and force him to sleep on the floor. In this form, she could sleep comfortable on the bare ground-- or even spend the whole night awake and hunting in the surrounding woods. That way, Auri didn't have to inconvenience himself or even offer her shelter.
This way, you don't have to accommodate me, she spoke to him as werewolves did: a low-grade form of telepathy.

The transition to what she was to what now sat perched before him was quite instanteous. The beautiful female form had been replaced by a large fur covered creature he recognized as a werewolf. This likely explained why the 10th division spent much time in the forest by that name he thought.
Although by any normal standards shock should have appeared on his face he was well versed in not displaying emotion. He also did not see the need in this case. He had caught the glimmer of some other being in her eyes when she was angered over his story earlier. He knew another feature of her was not being shown although he would not have guessed it would be a werewolf.
She grinned sitting in front of him showing the long pointed teeth. The movement was awkward and could have been perceived as a form of aggression but he understood her character enough to not believe this.
"Well I knew their was more to your story then you told but must say would not have guessed a werewolf. I thank you for trusting me so much to reveal something that must be hard to show to others. I'm sure you would expect me to ask many questions but I think its been a long night and I do not want to pick your brain too much. We can talk in the morning after a nice breakfast."
He slowly headed to the bed placing his sword and cape over the dresser that lay beside. Heading onto the surface of the bed he extended his legs and lay down.
"Goodnight"
He wasn't likely to sleep as he would likely be deciphering in his mind throughout the night all the characters of a werewolf and whether they were true or false.

'Night, Ash responded, curling up comfortably on the floor and resting her head on her forepaws. It was so peaceful here that she could already feel her eyelids drooping, complacently falling shut with no effort. She, unlike Auri, had very little to think about other than studying the inside of her eyelids. She was glad, though, that he had accepted her nature without so much as blink or a funny stare. This was the reaction she hoped to get from everyone she met, but she felt as though that would not always be the case.
The minute she relaxed completely, she lost her grip on her were form, reverting back to human. She'd been dozing for several minutes before she realized that she'd changed back and was now curled up on Auri's floor without a stitch of clothing. Exasperated, she shifted back, shaking out her silvery fur and rising. That wouldn't do. She'd never slept in her were form and she hadn't known it would drop so easily once she'd fallen asleep. Quickly, she stole out of Auri's cottage, loping into the forest to raid one of her numerous caches of clothes she had hidden all over the forest.
She returned some time later, a worn cloak in her jaws. It had been a gift from Zaine. The cloak was much longer than necessary and was made of a flexible material. It more than suited her needs. She lay down again, this time dragging the cloak up over herself before settling down for sleep. She drifted off fairly quickly, this time. When she inevitably phased back, she had the cover of the cloak to hide her bare form.

He was staring at the ceiling currently wondering to what extent the Lycan blood influence thought. The predatory nature of a Lycan proposed to him that they were influence by situations. A peaceful, quiet place such as Avalon likely did not create high levels of aggressive emotions that may lead to phasing. In the midst of his thought he heard rustling beside him.
Ash had for some moments returned into her human form but he did not feel the need to awake her as she slept so soundly. The movements continued and he saw her stand up and exit the cabin. She didn't see him looking towards her due to the darkness of the room but his observation was clear due to his eyes ability. He chuckled inside knowing is what likely due to her own realization of her lack of clothing. She definitely was a recently transformed werewolf as forgetting to bring spare clothing within reach, knowing the results of fazing, was an indication of such.
A while later he heard the door open and shut once again. She had returned with a cape that had apparently been stored elsewhere. The humor of the event left his mind clear of thought as he finally fell into a deep slumber.

Ash awakened rather early. The light that filtered into the cottage cast everything in dark blue shades. The air was cold, heralding the coming autumn, and Ash was again grateful for the cloak that insulated her against the chill and preserved the modesty of her human form.
For the sake of warmth and comfort, she phased back into her wolf form and padded out of the cabin, disappearing into the woods for some time to stash the cloak. This accomplished, she spent the hours until true sunrise running to warm up her pads and scenting potential small prey. No doubt Auri would have some sort of food prepared that would appeal to her human side and would provide a supplement for whatever she caught in the early hours of the morning.
She returned when the sun was higher, muzzle when from where she'd washed the blood of the rabbits she'd rooted out of their warren. She pranced a bit as she padded into Auri's clearing, silvery fur catching the sun and glowing with hints of warm gold. She was obviously pleased with her success.
