Masque Aftermath
Delphine Amary walked through the front door of her house, having powered down from Sailor Nemesis in an alleyway not far from home. There were red chain-link marks scaling up her arm from being bound to one absolute idiot of a Negaverser for half of the battle at the ball. If she hadn’t been hindered by Hematite, maybe she would have been able to snatch the crystal, maybe she could have protected it from the Negaverse. After that, though, what would she have done with it? Hand it over to that apparition that looked like Queen Serenity? That had seemed to be the goal. All of the senshi had known it, so how could it be that they just all failed to grab one little crystal? They had magical abilities, had superhuman strength and speed! Sure, the Negaverse had their own perks, but the senshi should have this task in the bag.
The battle was not over, not by a long shot, but Delphine still felt like they had lost. So there were others? What did it matter if they could not even manage to get one of them. What was to say that the next opportunity, the next crystal, would fall into their hands? There was no guarantee, and Delphine was quickly losing faith in her companions. Why could they not do ********,” she breathed softly, pulling off her masquerade mask and tossing it onto the floor. Her mother would pick it up later, and she quite frankly felt like s**t. Fortunately everyone had gone to bed by now, even Damon’s lights were off in his room. She didn’t have to deal with the inquiries about how the evening had gone. Delphine could walk straight up to her room and brood for the rest of her night if she wanted to. Kicking off her shoes, she mounted the stairs, heading into her bedroom. She didn’t even have to turn on the lights, the present she had gotten for Damon practically lit up the whole room.
Really, a glow-in-the-dark fish? With three eyes? It was so ridiculous that it made her smile. She walked over to the bedside table where her fish was swimming lazily. It had survived a day, at least, and perhaps that meant it would remain living long enough for Delphine to give it to her brother for his birthday. She grabbed some fish food, sprinkling it into the bowl and watching with slight admiration how her pet frenzied over its food. Who needed cats and dogs when you could have a fish? Better yet, a fish that SCARED away the house cat. “Good fish,” she purred, and would have been tempted to pet the creature if it didn’t look like it’d bite her face off.
She slouched down onto her bed, not bothering to get changed, instead laying there to muse for a little while, and eventually fall asleep.

SOLO Screw Loose (Nemesis x Spinel) Aftermath
She was left lying on the pavement, her body aching from the corrupted senshi’s assault. Nemesis had almost had him, he was right within the palm of her hand! Her attack had settled in, his body was slowly being paralyzed, and once he was under the full affect of her power she could have… Well, who knew what Nemesis would have done. She had never gone farther than beating someone up, though she knew that wasn’t the absolute answer. If she beat someone up, they’d just come back with a vengeance. Negaversers were like that, and she had seen the same Negas on multiple occasions. If her heart had really been completely into the battle, maybe she would have won, maybe that corrupted senshi would be dead on the pavement.
The thought was somehow disturbing to her, and with a soft groan she sat herself up. The senshi was long gone by now, having teleported to safety. So… it had been a tie, though Nemesis would never admit it out loud. It aggravated her that she couldn’t beat the other senshi. It aggravated her that at the last possible second she had been bounced back into a wall. Her back hurt like a b***h, but not as much as her pride.
Glancing around her, she noted that no one was around. It was well into the evening, and well, if someone had actually seen her lose her hold of the corrupted senshi she would have been downright embarrassed. Double-checking to make sure that no one really was around. She powered down, sighing heavily as she straightened her t-shirt and zipped up her hoodie. Her bumps and bruises weren’t that serious. She could hide them from her family if she tried hard enough, and with accelerated healing abilities (slight, but beneficial) she’d be well in no time. It was, she admitted, getting harder and harder to hide how she kept on getting into fights. There were only so many times that she could chalk it up to tripping (Damon still didn’t believe that excuse - Delphine had never been so clumsy before).
Grumpily she headed home, hands burrowing into her pants pockets, shoulders hunched. It was the exact body language of “do not talk to me, do not look at me, do not THINK about me”. Delphine was getting home as quickly as she could, going to bed, and going to forget her humiliating ******** up. At least her team hadn’t been around to witness the failure. She was sure none of them would think poorly of her for it, but Delphine liked to picture herself as the one person most capable of getting business done. She valued her image enough that she was grateful that she had taken on her opponent single-handedly.

SOLO Nemesis x Uranophane
Delphine Amary felt her forehead, cringing as the skin peeled back underneath her fingertips, a fresh trail of blood flowing down the center of her face. How many times had she done this before, inspect her battle wounds in the safety of her own bathroom? The door was locked behind her, and it was late enough that her family shouldn’t be shuffling around. Delphine had managed to sneak back into her house without even rousing the old cat on the sofa. The stair steps had creaked just slightly underneath her weight, but now that she was home, she could have come up with any excuse why she was wandering around the house at this late hour.
Needless to say, it had become a habit. Delphine would sneak out to patrol whenever her parents were fast asleep, and come home before they woke up. Even Damon was under the same routine as her parents during the school week. It was a tiresome routine, and Delphine wasn’t unknown for skipping school the day after she had a particularly rough patrol. Going to school tomorrow was still a debate. The cuts upon her forehead weren’t terribly deep, but still noticeable. Delphine was a little relieved that Uranophane hadn’t carved some insult into her flesh. If she pulled her bangs down just right, she could hide the marks. Still, there was the chance of a slip-up, and someone could notice. She could make up an excuse, but it would only be so long that she could pile up lies and excuses before someone grew concerned and thought that Delphine needed help. Hell, her parents could be informed, and then she would never be allowed out of her room again.
It would be a disaster.
With a loud sigh, she wet a rag and carefully dabbed at her face, washing off the blood. She’d throw the rag away afterwards, just to keep any inquiries about it away. Her decision was made - in the morning she’d tell her dad that she was feeling sick, and he’d excuse her from school. Her dad was always the easiest to win over, her psycho of a mother would want to check her temperature, and see actual vomit as proof of her illness.
She reached into one of the bathroom drawers, pulling out a huge band-aid. If she kept her head hidden in the morning, no one would see it, and she could lock herself in her room all day. It provided her some comfort, so she wouldn’t have to see the cruel lines cutting into her face, or feel how her skin could easily pull in opposite directions just by the touch of her fingers, exposing her wounds further. She placed the large band-aid completely over her forehead, feeling more at ease with its ‘protection’. Tomorrow would be dedicated to rest and slight moping over having to run away from Uranophane.

SOLO Nemesis x Chaonis Aftermath
Nemesis was frustrated as hell, swinging her rusted bar into a small bird-like youma’s head. It had been the last of the whole ******** flock she had been left to deal with. The senshi that had, to some degree, been on her side had ******** up and left her the moment the battle seemed to grow too much for him. She should have expected it out of newbies, senshi who had no idea what they were doing, and even a smaller sense of civic duty. Any one of these youmas could have harmed a civilian, but ******** Sailor Chaonis had given less of a s**t about the city’s population than even Nemesis did, and that was saying a lot. Usually Nemesis didn’t give a rat’s a** about other people… but there had been exceptions. The Dream Team was one of those exceptions, as well as friends, family, and people she even recognized. Still, if she came across someone in danger, she would help them.
Sailor Chaonis did not seem to have that strict moral compass to guide him, and admittedly Nemesis was jealous. What would it be like to not care as much as she did? She would be less stressed, hell, she’d probably be living life up right now. No longer would she come home beaten and bruised, no longer would she have to face her parents’ questions about who she had gotten into a fight with today. Hell, she wouldn’t have to make excuses up for how she came home looking like. She wouldn’t be Sailor Nemesis anymore, she’d be Delphine Amary. Right now, being Delphine Amary didn’t sound all that bad.
The bar was thrown down onto the ground, Sailor Nemesis grimly looking at the little piles of dust scattered across the alleyway. There had been a lot of the little bastards, but they had been easy to take care of once the big one had been taken down. It wouldn’t have nearly been as difficult if Sailor Chaonis had not been such an a** and an even bigger idiot. If she ever saw him again, she’d have to beat his face into the ground.
The thought was awfully heartwarming.
Sailor Nemesis did not appreciate being left behind to clean up someone else’s mess, and oh, if she ever did meet Chaonis again, the mess he’d be made to clean up was his own body off of the pavement. “Good times may very well be ahead of me,” she purred, glancing once around her before powering down. There, she was no longer under obligation to save every damsel in distress. It was as if she had lifted the burden off of her shoulders just by the act of powering down, and it was the nicest feeling ever when coupled with her victory over the youma swarm of the century. Whistling softly, she walked out of the alleyway and headed home.
