*vigorously nodding in agreement* It is always a good idea to decide how much you should spend on what days and make food entirely separate to everything else. Though it was nice of people to donate. <3 ^_^
Our plan for food is going to be packed breakfast and lunch(onigiri, melon bread, and magisagi(oatmeal basically) for breakfast and ramen, onigiri, yakitori, takoyaki, and egg rolls for lunch. Oh, and lots of green tea for drinking.) By unanymous voting my groupies decided only dinner will be eaten out. That will save us at least $100 each. That means more plushies! XD Or whatever your fix is. Soon if I remember... if I didn't already post it I'll show you guys this averaging I did to determine the full out cost of going to the con. Yeah, when I get around to it.

Lesse...

First off, how early would you reserve your hotel for Sakura Con?
I don't get a hotel, as I only live about an hour away. This last year, we stayed at my freind's dad's house because he lived closer.

Second, do you pre-register or do you pay at the door?
Definately Pre-reg. I hate lines.

How do you normally get to Sakura Con?
Drive. I'm only an hour away.

What are your favorite places to eat?
The subway in the convetion center, even if the line is insane. I always bring snacks, though, so I can wait for slow times at the subway.

How many people do you normally go with?
I don't have a whole lotta freinds with the money to go to Sakuracon, so normally 1 or 2. This year, though, I plan to go with about 4.

If you want to your posse can join mine to hang with at the convention. <3 <3 I love getting random people together. Some of my friends need to be more socially integrated. Though I am normally one to talk.

that would be awesome. Meeting people is one of the main reasons I attend conventions. Some of my freinds who are coming..yeah. This is their 1st SC, and they're all rather exuberant people.

Coolness. ^_^ At some point in time before the con we'll find a place to meet. <3

I hope to meet new people while I'm there too. But I'm also fine just being with a few friends :3 I used to go to Neko Con with a bunch of friends. While it was fun, there was occasionally a little drama (usually people trying to guild others into letting them stay in their hotel >_<).

Oh, I've never heard of that happening at Sakura Con... I'm sure it has happened though. It is different if the person ill-prepared is simply asking very nicely; it is another to practically beg and/or manipulate. The lack of planning on their part does not constitute panic on ours. That is just the way it is.
Last year I met tons of people. For Seattle(normally an evil, hostile, mean place) people tend to be really, really nice during the con. So, we'll all meet a bunch of really cool people.

More tips:

1. NEVER go alone.
2. When going with a group of people try to go in even numbers so everyone has a partner.
3. Don't plan with flakies. The people who say they are going then cop out at the last minute. If you have one of those people tell them to take care of themselves.
4. Make a checklist! Hotel, food, souvenirs, entry, travel. Check it off as you go.

my plan usually consists of me planning everything and expecting no one else to chip in.. then those who Do actually show up and give me their part of the money I turn that into extra spending money.

Lets see...

I live close enough that I don't need to reserve a hotel, though it might be nice to do sometime.

I ALWAYS pre-reg. Like most people I don't espcially like waiting in a line for a long time.

My dad drives everyone (seattle is a scary place to drive if you don't do it on a regular bases eek )

First year I went with my friend (and dad) who knew the convention pretty well.

Last year I went with 3 friends (and dad) and met up with my other friend.

First year we ate at a food court in a mall a couple blocks away from the con (Don't remember the name, but the food court was on the top floor) and subway in Sakura con

last year we timed it right and got to eat in the con blaugh

I agree people in the convention are generally nicer than the general population (except the party poopers *cough* pick pockets and people who ruin the mood *cough*)

I pretty much got everything done and figured out about 3 months in advanced.
I still have a few details to work out, but essentially my hotel and the basics of my cosplay are all sorted. ^^
I don't know how many friends I'm going with this year....
There's supposed to be lots of people, but no one is as prepared as I am about this sort of thing. .
