The drunkard had decided to stand close to Ryan, and...ugh. ******** drunk idiot. The guy absolutely reeked of vodka, and Ryan had a bit of a hard time holding back his anger and being calm in saying what he said. "Why don't you just find a seat like the rest of us and shut your mouth? You might find it a pleasant experience, that is if you can stand being quiet without reaching for your bottle for more than thirty seconds. Ms. Kaede will give us our assignments when she is good and ready." Pressing his face into his right palm once again, Micheal muttered to Tsubame: "I can't believe we're in the same house as that guy...what the hell does he think this is, a brothel where he can pick and choose his room and partner as soon as he walks in?"
(( The error was on MY part intentional, but not on Ryan's. He's not too well versed in Japanese and thus doesn't know that last names come first...so he thinks that Kaede is her last name. ))

Kuro followed suit with the rest of the students, walking in a long line behind the deputy headmistress as she led them to their dormitory. Once inside, the bright white of the walls and the blue that adorned most of the furniture was rather tasteful though he preferred the color red as well as other darker toned colors when it came to decorations. It took several minutes for him to scan the room with his crimson eyes, taking in the details and the many faces that were slowly filling the large spacious room. He slid his hands into his pockets and began to circle around the common room, the tail of his haori flowing around his ankles with every step he took. He approached one of the many towering windows that lined the walls. The vast shadows of the night seemed to cover the ground in a thick black blanket while the bright moon radiated high above everything from the sky, casting its silver glow upon the leaves of the trees that dotted the landscape.
After relaxing to take in the sight, Kuro turned and began to once again pace about the room. He was happy to learn that they had plenty of books lining the walls since he rather enjoyed reading when he had time for it and having access to such a library for his studies would definitely come in handy. Once he was finished taking in the rooms details he found himself a soft, plush cushion to rest on as he waited for the rest of the students to make their way into the room. As he sat watching the others, the faint scent of alcohol began to fill the air though it wasn't long before the smell became even stronger. He looked around only to see a young student walking in and talking loudly. Kuro liked to drink occasionally but he was definately smart enough to not do so during such an occasion as the start of term and the beginning of his career as a shinigami. Kuro just sighed and in a voice loud enough for most of those around him he spoke, "Such an idiot."

"Seating like this is a normality here, all over both the Rukongai and the Seireitei. It is a cultural happening, chairs waist space that most can't afford. That is also why most sleep on futon as well." Eyes directed away from Ryan's shirtless form, Tsubame's sure fingers played along the fabric of his patchwork shirt, finding that pretty much every stitch the tips of her fingers ran over needed to be replaced. That could come later though, and while blushing profusely she found the large torn patch and pressed the edges of worn cotton together. With the gentle touch of a trained seamstress, she pulled the needle and already looped thread trough the portion she wished to reattach and tied off the end with a swift looping of the thread. Then her real work began, tugging the needle with precise double stitches, each a sixteenth of an inch apart as they tracked quickly from one side of the rip to the next. Completely focused, it took all of a minute and a half to repair the tare, looping the thread twice through the final stitch to secure the repair.
Finished, Tsubame reorientated her strangely hued stare and noted the drunken student she'd spied before in the Great Hall had made an appearance. A bad appearance by the look she noticed on Ryan's face just before he chastised the man for his drinking habits. Had Tsubame not been sewing, she would have taken it upon herself to lecture the man, gently, but lecture none the less. Either way, she balked when Ryan addressed her again. "Brothel?!" Eyes wide, and face still flushed, her look was of confusion and shock. She knew full well what a brothel was, but mentioning it openly was something she was trained against.
Trying her best not to be to openly strange because of her court etiquette, she dropped her eyes and reached into the top of her furisode for her sewing kit. Unwrapping the swallow embroidered kit, she removed a set of tiny steel sheers and clipped away the excess thread from Ryan's shirt. Placing the needle between her teeth, she turned the garment over in her hands, cutting away any thread that hung array. Finally satisfied with the shirt for now, she removed the needle from her mouth, placing it with the scissors back into the tiny sewing kit. Flapping out the shirt, Tsubame offered it back to Ryan, "Almost all the stitching should be removed and redone, and the cotton in most sections is close to disintegrating...but this will work for now."

Upon stepping into the room, Yuki looked around, the different blue shades decorated the room. Her feet carried her over to one of the numerous blue cushions and sat herself down in it. Not sure of what to do, Yuki looked around curiously, staying quiet. Should she approach someone and talk to them? Or just stay sitting and quiet? Letting out a short sigh she stared at the flooring. Periodically, her fingers brought themselves together and fiddled around with eachother, her eyes trailing to look at other students in the room. A girl sewing someone's shirt, her face deep rouge. A drunken student making a scene like he had in the hall, two students talking amongst one another, the girl holding some books, while the boy continued conversation with her.
'Maybe I should greet someone, nows my chance... since no one knows eachother, it'll be easier than talking to them later,' Yuki told herself, trying to persuade her thoughts to make her approach someone. But her heart was racing and she was getting to nervous to get up and talk to anyone. 'Or... Maybe I could just stay... sitting, and wait...' She told herself.

Suddently out of the crowd a loud voice made an ecou throw out the chamber,"I"M NOT..DR..D...DRUNK!!!", he them pushed aside Ryan's hand, he gave him a weird look,"YOU DOG!!!I'm only a bit dizzy...you know emotions and s**t!", he then walked in from of Kaede as he noticed her,"So what's the plan?!?...KING!!!", he fell on his knees and his face colapsed into Kaede's chest. As Hunbaba's knees touched the ground a weird noise coming from his top could be heard is was the sound of knocking botles and one of them fell out his kosode.

(( Um. Ryan himself facepalmed, he didn't push Hunbaba's face into his own palm. ))
Shaking his head slightly, Ryan muttered again. "Idiot...he's so stupid that he can't tell how much he reeks of alcohol." Then came the clink of a bottle against the floor. "Or that he's carrying it on him. He must really think this is a damn brothel...at least from how he acts."
Ryan took the shirt back, putting it on carefully. "Thank you, Tsubame. I wouldn't expect this to have held up too well...the original shirt is probably over fifty years old, but some of those patches were things I wore when I was a small child. They'll probably give us uniforms of some sort...I don't mind putting on a buttoned shirt or something, just as long as it's not tight or anything like that."

Hunbaba's face was so deeply pressed into Kaede's chest that nothing he said could be heard only a weird moaning sound. All Hunbaba managed to do is drawl into Kaede's chest, he was so drunk he couln't move he just laid there suspended on to Kaede like a dead corpse.

Noting that now would probably be about time to aprehend him a portal opened beneath him and he fell into Solstice's 'office' while at the same time Solstice gave a thumbs up to Kaede and retreated through a portal just above her also into Solstice's 'Office'.

Face no longer flushed, much in part to Ryan replacing his shirt, Tsubame raised an eyebrow at him. "Yes, we will be provided with at least two sets of the official uniform, that was outlined in the application information." Picking up her sewing kit, she wrapped it lovingly before tucking it back within her furisode. "Though, I don't think you'll be pleased with the design of the uniforms. They have no buttons or zippers, just like the design of the Academy, they are traditional and consist of a single kosode emblazoned with the Academy insignia on the left breast, a set of Hakama, a pair of tabi and waraji. They are also color coded with the male set colored blue and the female set colored red, and I must say that the shade of blue will look nice with your coloration." True enough, chocolate hued hair and deep green eyes with an even tan would be accentuated by not only the blue but the white as well. "I know the uniform is voluminous in fabric content, but it is meant to train you for when and if you graduate. That way the shihakushou that's issued isn't hindering and you no longer trip over the Hakama legs."

Kaede only shivered after Hunbaba was gone, and hope dearly that he would lear his lesson. She would have to thank Solstice for that later, and she trusted in her ability of turturing him effectively, changing his opinion on liquor. Then, she looked at the empty vodka bottle on the ground and her face wrinkled into a mask of disgust. Hardly audible, she whispered "shakkaho" and the bottle disappered in a shot of red fire, without a sign that anything used to be in that place. With an almost satisfied glance, she looked towards the students, who were still aghast at the drunken student's behavious, and spoke to them calmly, nearly kindly. "I apologize for this uncomfortable indicent. May it be a lesson to him and to anyone with a similar disposition."

During the drunkard's scene, James made it a point to ignore what was going on and just focus on the beginnings of this conversation with Aloe. That apparent failure of a student was already making his secrets known, and not in any elegant way; because of that, there was no real desire within James to find out much of anything about such a character. No, it would be a much better and more enjoyable experience to pick up on the clues that Aloe would be sending out about herself.
He realized that she was holding her books with her right hand, and nearly felt bad for offering his in a shake until she made her fast shift to free that hand without any real hesitation. Firm grip... so she probably isn't overly shy, James analyzed keeping a secret mental score. It was something he did with a lot of people he met, but would rarely, if ever, openly admit to. It was because he kept that "score" that led him to have a decent judge of character; although he has been wrong about that before and on more than one occasion.
"So, Aloe, using a reason other than just to learn what brought you to this academy?" he asked genuinely interested, while releasing her hand in order to casually continue the conversation. Right after he asked, the noisy scene caused by the drunkard seemed vanish all at once, and he looked over at the deputy headmistress to see that something had indeed happened to their collective embarrassment of a house member. He even managed to catch the kidou that incinerated the bottle of alcohol. Impressive, he thought as he turned his attention back to Aloe to hear her answer.

Aloe's eyes wandered to look at the student making a fool of himself in front of Kaede. It was almost funny, if it weren't for the fact that the student was supposed to be part of the same group as the rest of them. Hopefully the teachers would give him the help he needed before he did anything too stupid though.
After taking a short look at what was happening around her, Aloe turned her attention back to James, taking her hand back as he let go of it and putting it over her books again, looking like she was hugging her books. When James asked for a more specific reason as to why she joined the academy, Aloe's expression lit up even more so than it already had been. The mere memory of her reason for joining made her happy, and she would gladly share it.
"Well, I suppose I have two reasons for being here. For one, I just really want to be able to help people." Aloe's eyes went a little off focus as if going into a daydream. "And the second reason... Its a bit of a long story, but to put it short; I've seen how Shinigami help people first hand and want to be able to help just like they can." Aloe giggled quietly at a small mistake she made. "Though i guess that makes both reasons the same."
Aloe's eyes came back into focus as she finished, like she was coming back to the real world after a short leave and looked James in the eye, in a polite way to show she was still paying attention. "What about you, James? Is there also something you want to get out of being here other than knowledge?"

His eyes followed her hand as it went back to holding her books, and he cocked his head to the side slightly while he wondered what kind of books they were before he shook his head to get back on track. James chuckled a little and said, "Now I don't think I can really match that obvious increase in happiness about my reason, but I am just as excited to be here."
"In a way my answer is the same as yours. My specific reason is because of an instinct to protect my little sister and the rest of my family living in Rukongai. This scarf is a gift from her when she found out that I was accepted into the academy here," he finished by pointing at the small red silk scarf that was wrapped around his lower right arm in a helix and tied just above the wrist. James then took a moment to check the scarf and tucked the edges back into the wrap as they had a tendency to come loose during the day.
"It probably seems silly, but I had the crazy idea to wear it like this and she said it made me look cool. I guess I've just been wearing like that ever since," his words came out easily, and with a hint of his pride. For some reason it felt natural for James to play the big brother role; the whole being protective, finding a well respected career and lifestyle, and giving his younger siblings a good figure to look up to. He was more than just a little glad that he found such a lifestyle and was ready to make whatever effort he needed to to get his best out from deep inside.
"I'm not going to claim that I can protect everyone, but I am ready to give my all for protecting my family and friends, even they never knew that I was helping," he said honestly; his father warned him of having too big of a goal in this life. To him, no one person can protect the entire world, but we can protect our homes by getting out there and keeping the peace one day at a time. That philosophy struck home with James, who makes sure to remind himself of that whenever he thinks of the potential danger.
((Time for a profile edit, the idea of the scarf was just improved in that post, lol))

"Thats sweet." That was the best way Aloe could put her opinion on James' reason. The comparison between her reason and James' reason was very similer but different at the same time. Of course Aloe wanted to protect her freinds like he did, but in that respect, everyone and everything was her freind in one way or another. Even those that others might not want to help.
"I agree that no one can protect everyone. But at least we can help everyone who we are able to help." Aloe looked to the bookshelf again. Even during conversation she couldn't help but get a little drawn in by some of the subjects of the books. It was only a breif look as she looked to James again, not breaking her attention to him for too long. "And I think you're sister was right about the scarf. It does look cool on you." Aloe kept smiling in a freindly and understanding way. It was like her smile never went away, only changing to express different kinds of happiness.

Zakuro eyes wandered around the deep blue room with all the different sets of characters; each doing one thing or the other. He realized that was extremely bored; he really didn't speak to any since he's gotten and wondered if should approach someone. He needed some company and friends if he was going to make it through this new enviroment. Zakuro found it quite amusing, the bumbling idiocy of a drunkard. Surely he'd get what was coming to him. At least now he's gone. We can get somethings situated. Zakuro began walking around the room looking something to do. He eventually went to the bookshelf and rummaged through.
