Tanabata Lotus Root Entry
Prompt
You're visiting the local Tanabata, hosted by the GoGo Sushi. There are little trees and poles to hang your wishes, places to win little prizes, and food stalls. Don't worry, none of the food is thought to ferment and is fully edible. You have a special wish that you'd like to write on your tanzaku you were given by Itamae-chan. What is your wish? And what all do you do while enjoying the festival? Write a story about what you did while at the Tanabata, and about your wish.
Spooky came to the Tanabata with little Sally on her shoulder. She wanted Sally to have fun. “Isn’t it beautiful, here?” She asked her little gogo. Sally was a small ferment that came from a salmon sushi. Spooky had been very surprised when the salmon fermented into such a sweet, quiet gogo.
“Yes, it’s very pretty. What should we do first?” Sally looked all around at the decorations, the games and the wishes. The wishes interested her quite a bit. What do you wish for?
Spooky took the little ferment to the games and food. They played lots of fun stuff, won goldfish, and ate food. Their last stop was the wishes. “Would you like the make a wish?” She asked the ferment.
“Yes.” Sally got a gogo sized pen and paper. She wasn’t sure what to wish for. She wanted to be helpful with her wish. Should she wish for world peace or everyone to find love? She struggled until finally landing on “I will wish for world happiness and love.” She wrote it down and stuck in on a branch. When she turned around she saw Spooky had a tear in her eye, “What?”
“Nothing, sand in my eye.” She then took her own paper and wrote her own wish. “Sally to be happy and find friends.” She stuck it on the tree and went on their way.
