I've only seen the ones from the 2005 series and about half of Genesis. I like it all, personally. heart Although the episode "Dalek" is probably my favorite, just because it was my first exposure to them.
If I ever get around to watching the rest of Genesis, though, that may change.

Hellooo!! I'm new here Btw!! I must say that Genesis is my favourite Doctor Who story as it was the one that turned me into a Doctor Who fan when I watched a video of it a few years ago!!! The original Dalek story comes a close second though, as they are seen as a new threat, something the Doctor, who himself at the beginning was quite dangerous, had never encountered before. I also think Revelation deserves a mention as well, although I see that more as a Davros story really.

Theta_Sigma I also think Revelation deserves a mention as well, although I see that more as a Davros story really. My brother and I always used to make fun of Revelation, it having so many silly scenes and all. Our favorite scene (to mock) was when that jilted woman says "I hate yoooouuuu!" and stabs the mortician guy... there's something in the way she says that line just cracks us up. Revelation always reminded me of a book I read in high school that made fun of funeral parlors. "The Loved One" by Evelyn Waugh (194 cool . That, and Soylent Green. gonk

But the woman who played the stabber(who recently appeared as a psychic on Emmerdale) couldn't act to save her life, hence the silly moments!!

Mine would be Ressurection, as it was the first DW I ever watched.

I would have to say 'Power of the Daleks' or 'Evil of the Daleks,' simply beacuse they're a cut above the other Dalek stories in terms of the story. A lot of the Dalek stories come off rather derivative somehow IMO, and got rather poorly shoveled off when Davros came about and just became Evil Robots.
Power of the Daleks shows how cunning the Daleks are, pretending to be servents of humans and then slowly building up a force merely so they can destroy one colony of humans.
Evil of the Daleks, sure it has a rather ludicrous plot (the Human Factor), but it does show how 'alien' the Daleks are in their inability to understand the concepts of humanity (friendship/self-sacrifice/love) and a concept which was later revisited in 'Dalek', sadly though, the story exists inaudio only and thus the Dalek Emperor and the Dalek Civil War are left only as a few nice photographs and a soundtrack.

I'm not too familiar with either Power or Evil (I think I read a John Peel novelization for one of those, but that was ages ago and I don't remember a thing about it). I do remember seeing some footage of the Emperor Dalek and the Dalek civil war as a special feature on the Tomb of the Cybermen DVD.
I have to agree with you that the Daleks seem to be rather pathetic whenever they're being controlled by Davros (or the Dalek God, or whatever). Genesis was okay in this regard, I think, because even though it's really more about Davros than the Daleks, at the end the Daleks rebel against their master and take charge of their own destiny. But in the later stories they simply go back to being Davros's mindless minions. Bleh.

To be quite honestly fair, in every subsequent Post-Genesis story, the Daleks have every intention of screwing Davros over when his use is at an end. Any Davros-loyal Daleks are usually ones that he either made to loyally serve him or brainwashed. But Davros did as much damage to the Daleks has Scrappy Doo gave to Scooby Doo.

I liked Genesis of the Daleks, because it explained the, uh, genesis of them.
I also enjoyed Resurrection because it had loads of pointless killing, and Revelation, because...um...I just enjoyed it, ok!

I think my favourite would have to be Remembrance Of The Daleks (5/10/88 - 26/10/88 ), purely because it was the first story I ever saw. It gave me screaming nightmares for a week after Part Four because of Davros. I nearly got banned from watching the series again because of that! I was only 4 at the time though!
My favourite new series Dalek story would probably have to be The Parting Of The Ways. The Dalek Emperor gave me the same sort of chills as Davros. Strictly speaking though, I see Doomsday as more of a Cyberman story. Not sure why.
