Skype raised an eyebrow at the Elder but bit her tongue for once in her life, nodding briefly.
"I would not have starved; I can hunt perfectly well for myself, thank you, Elder Loki." She used the title not of respect but of selfpreservation -- she didn't particularly feel like taking on entire freaking Tribe today.
She was about to continue her conversation when a female came up, black with horribly bright pink paintsplatter, and she said her name was Aditu.
To both of them, Skype responded, "My name is Skype." She dipped her head slightly to Loki and glanced in greeting to Aditu, then continued to the Elder, "I will not be getting in the way of your Tribe, I simply wished to officially announce my presence to you and your Tribe. Good day."
Skype stood then and stretched, her smooth silky white fur rustling slightly when a gust of arctic wind blew by. She wasn't bothered by the cold in any way -- in fact, the opposite: Skype reveled in the wintery months.
With their conversation finished (at least in her mind, as she'd accomplished all she'd set out to), Skype turned her head to head away from the slowly gathering group, not wanting to be involved with more foxes than she could handle. She was good at being alone, it was who she was supposed to be.

Teal blue eyes scanner the area around him. He let out a sigh, his breath condensing in the air. It vanished with the breeze within seconds. He rose to his paws, the sparse flakes of snow on his fur falling to the ground as he shook himself. He had heard voices up ahead, and quite a few of them at that. Had some of the members finally returned? He yawned, stretching himself out before stepping lightly over the snow towards the voices. The scents of the foxes wafted through the air. So few were here, nothing compared to how the tribe was in the past. The snow leopard fox remembered when there were thirty or so members prowling around through the tribe lands. Where had all of them gone?
Samui continued padding along towards the others, his tail swaying gently behind him across the surface of the snow. He arrived, seeing an unfamiliar face amongst the others. He caught that the vixen's name was Skype and that was just about it. He glanced around at the others, his gaze finally resting on the two elders. How bowed his head before speaking, which was rather rare for him to do so. He was a very quiet fox. "Loki, Sahari... It's a pleasure to see the two of you again."

The black and blue fox glanced back at his mate and nodded in understanding. As far as Kyou knew, the tribe was still very full. Loki and Sahari would have a tough time getting everything under control once everyone gathered. "Hunting is a good idea," he finally said, beginning to walk in a different direction. In truth, food was the farthest thing from his mind. Kyou remained close to Rae throughout the storm and it was clear that she was safe. He didn't, however, know the whereabouts of his six children or his sister, Terra. They were all fully grown, and in his heart he knew they were safe, but his mind could only worry. Shin remembered passing by the lake near the end of the storm. It was now the first place he headed to. The blizzard took it's toll on Shin, he limped slightly after a run in with a flying log, but he ignored the pain by focusing on the familiar scent of foxes gathering nearby. He needed to find his family, to make sure they were alright. He didn't think about is front, left ankle which he was sure was sprained. Shin just limped on.[Sorry they're short and I'll have to reply as the others later.]

Loki raised an eyebrow back at the white vixen, amused by her attitude. She had guts, acting so curt with an Elder. While he didn't demand respect from foxes who accidentally strayed too close to their territory, he had a feeling this female's mouth had gotten her in trouble before.
"You're heading the wrong way," he told her, unable to keep some of the amusement from seeping into his voice. "You will only reach the mountains that way, and they're nearly inaccesible due to the recent storms. You iwll only have to come back this way if you try."
Loki wasn't truly concerned, but he knew the modeities brought no one to tribe lands without a reason. He wasn't sure why this vixen had been brought to them, but Loki had a feeling he would find out soon enough. "Stay here for the night, Skype. We have enough food for you, and the storms may pick back up at night. It wouldn't do to be lost in a blizzard."
Done with her for the moment, Loki looekd back at Samui. "It's good to see you again, Samui," he greeted. "How are you? Have you seen any of the others?"
Rae didn't fail to notice her mate's worry. "They're okay, Kyou," she reassured him. "We taught them all how to handle winters here, and you know it's impossible to get rid of Terra." It was a weak joke, but she was hoping he would smile some. He'd been frowning for too long now.
"We won't do them any good if we're weak from hunger," she remidned him. "Especially you, as a shaman. The others will need your help."
Miki moved swiftly through the trees, knowing the tribe center was the safest place to be. With the chance of storms again, Miki was determined to make it back to safety while she had the chance.
It wasn't long before she smelled...Shin? But none of the rest of his family. Not willing to leave any of her tribe members behind, Miki headed for his scent. When she noticed he was limping, the red vixen went to his side and offered him her shoulder in support. "Are you okay?" she asked quietly. "What happened?

It had been so long since Cari had seen anyone from her tribe. Many months at least, maybe even a year. Her mate Sheik had gotten hurt in a storm and when she went to go find food for him, she had gotten lost when a second storm hit. The storms just kept coming after that. They had pushed her far from her tribe and their lands. It seemed like every time she left a safe spot to find her tribe, another storm would pick up and push her farther away. Cari feared that they would never let up enough for her to find her way back home.
Did her tribe even remember her? Did they think she died long ago and had forgotten her? Was Sheik still waiting or had he found another? The questions constantly tugged at her mind trying to bring down her spirits but Cari was determined to stay optimistic. Every time her mind came up with a saddening question, she would come up with a determined answer. She would find her tribe, she would find her mate, she would make sure things were okay. But the problem wasn't losing hope for Cari, for she was full of that. The problem was that she had no idea where the tribe was or where they were re-grouping and that she was not the best hunter in the world. She had practically no skill when it came to hunting and because of this, she had not had a good meal in a very long time.
Hungry, exhausted, and cold, Cari finally collapsed in the snow-filled forest. She told herself she was just going to rest for a minute, but in the back of her mind, she wasn't so sure that would be happening.((Depressing, but she has been missing for over a year I believe....))

Terra wasn't too surprised to find herself seperated from her tribemates after the storms blew over. She worried for the others, and hoped everyone was alright. Mentally wishing the best for her brother and his family, Terra left the shade of large boulders she had hidden under. A quick glance around told the vixen that she wasn't far from the stream on the East side of the territory. "I suppose I'll follow along the shore until I reach the lake," she muttered to herself, trodding away from the morning sun.
As she travelled, Terra thought of her mate, Anubis. She wasn't sure what had happened to him, even before the storms hit. He hadn't been a member of Kousetsu, so she wasn't worried for his safetly. Terra just wanted to know what happened to him. It made her feel horrible; that she didn't care for her mate as much as she should.
Her thoughts quickly wandered back to her family. Kyou had many children, and his mate to worry about. Knowing her brother, 'worry' was probably an understatement. 'At least,' she thought positively, 'he probably made sure to stick with Rae throughout the storm.' The chances were high that they were both safe and heading toward the other foxes.
Upon waking up, Athena found herself in a dark, empty forest. Almost immediatly she realised where she was. The clever vixen found herself near the south border of the tribelands. Her stomach threatened to growl, but Athena could smell no food. She did, however, catch the scent of a fellow tribemember. She decided to head in that direction, unsure who the fox was. Considering the past few months, there was a high probability that the fox was injured or starved. Especially this far away from the rest of the tribe. Athena found herself following the scent a little past the border.
When Athena finally spotted the fallen vixen, she rushed to her side and began nudging her, hoping she would regain consciousness enough to stand. There was no way to really carry the fox by herself, but if Athena could wake her momentarily... "Wake up... You have to get up," Athena half-demanded. 'The fox was still breathing,' she noticed. As long as that was true, Athena wouldn't give up trying to help the pink fox.
Shin noticed the approaching scent before she appeared before him. He sighed, a little too loudly, in relief at her appearance. "I can endure it," he replied. "I was hit by a flying log trying to get to shelter." Shin had imagined his situation being fairly common, considering the on-and-off nature of the blizzards. He left at a calm spot in the storm, not knowing that they were going to begin again. "I take it you thought the lake would be the best place to go as well?" He asked.
Kyou glanced at his mate, smiling in spite of himself at her comment about his sister. "You're right, of course," he replied. He stopped walking to see if he could catch the scent of a meal. The majority of the wildlife were probably hibernating, making them easy to catch but hard to find. Birds had flown far away, long ago. Rabbits were likely to be trapped in caved in holes until they reawakened. He hoped that, though it was a longshot, a herd of deer had already returned to the lands after the storm cleared. Kyou didn't have any luck finding a scent. "We should travel toward the border, and hope there is food near the edge of the lands," he said, glancing back at Rae to see if she agreed.

Skype paused as she listened to the Elder, her eyes narrowing slightly. She glanced up at the mountains as he spoke, internally waffling. There was a chance that this Elder simply did want to make sure she didn't die, but she somehow doubted that; everyone had an ulterior motive. Maybe they wanted to kill her and eat her -- she could tell that this Tribe had suffered hardships and many of its members, including the Elder himself, were hungry.
But, as he said, it would not do to freeze to death. That was worse than being jumped by a gaggle of strange foxes only in that being jumped would, at least, be a quick death.
Sighing, Skype turned back slowly, eyes still narrowed cautiously as she looked at the huge Elder.
"Just for the night," Skype slowly agreed, backing out of the group of foxes that was slowly gathering around her. She moved back toward the Elder but sat down a few feet away from him and wrapped her tail around her feet, half for warmth and half so they wouldn't see her claws digging little lines in the snow because she was more than a little bit wary.
Samui. That was the one with the markings of a leopard. She waited till the Elder --Loki-- had finished speaking, then looked up at him and asked, "Why do you not know where your Tribe is?" She kept her voice as casual as it could be, but she was afraid it still came out a bit...judgmental. There had been some disaster here, she could tell that much, but she wanted to know more.
"How many did there used to be here?"

"A log?" Miki whistled. "You must've been out when it was really bad, then. I saw a couple go flying by, but I mostly stayed in the hhollowed out area under a tree." Trying to put a smile on his face, she added: "Let me tell you, digging out of that thing wa sprobably harder than childbirth would ever be."
Things felt..weird. It wasn't in Miki's nature to be negative, not even when Tempest had poofed. But nothing around here was happy right now! Understandable, of course, but weird. "We're close to the like, Shin, "she reassured him. "A shaman will be able to help you."
Rae waffled, unsure. If they went north, they ran the risk of hititng another blizzard and not coming out of it again. But if they didn't, would they go hungry? Perhaps they could go ice fishing or try to find fish in the streams later.
"Maybe we should just go to the lake," Rae sighed, not at all used to being uncertsin about things. "Hopefully there will be a hunter to bring food back for anyone who's found their way back." Hopefully others had found their way back...
This strange vixen never ceased to amuse Loki; the Elder could read her tension from a mile away, and here they were a scattered tribe with no violent tendencies amongst them.
Still, let her stress herself out if she wanted. It wasn't his business to alter her personality. "We do not know because of a bad few months of blizzards," he answered simply. "We were separated while trying to prepare the usual caves we take shelter in. There were many of us, perhaps even fifty, but I would say we number in the twenties now at most."

~So cold. Oh so cold. When was the last time it'd been this cold? Doesn't matter. I'm sorry Sheik, it doesn't look like I'll be able to find you this time. I did try though. That counts right? I hope you won't be disappointed in me. I just don't have what it takes. I'm so far away from you. If only I knew how to get to you. If only. If's won't really help me anymore. It's so cold. I'm sorry....~
"Wake up... You have to get up,"
Hmm? A voice? Is someone...nudging me?
Cari slowly came out of unconsciousness. There was indeed someone nudging her. Wait... There was another fox?! Cari opened her eyes to see a blue vixen with her tribe tattoo next to her. Oh thank the Modeities! Maybe the other fox knew of Sheik and the tribe! Cari tried to speak but it just came out a soft whimper as everything hit her at once and she almost lost consciousness again. No! I won't die out here! Not now that I have someone with me. I can do this.
With much difficulty, Cari slowly, very slowly, stood. "I d-don't t-think I've s-seen you b-before." She said to the younger vixen as she shivered.

"Oh. I'm sorry." Skype blinked in surprise; those words had never come out of her mouth before, to her recollection.
Harrumphing, Skype simply flopped down in the snow and crossed one paw over the other and set her head down on them, eyes still looking between all the foxes, her ears twitching as the sound of many paws coming closer reached her.
Skype made no move to get up, just curled her tail closer around her. "It appears there's more than just us," she said, which was remarkable; Skype had never ever been one for pointing out things to others that would make them happy.
Harrumphing again, Skype turned her head to where most of the footfalls were coming from. "Hope it's not a bear," Skype muttered snidely, pursing her lips slightly; she wouldn't mind if it was, though.
Sighing quietly, Skype returned to her previous position, ignoring the whatever-it-was that was coming towards them. She could, most likely, take down whatever it was, but she didn't feel like getting up at the moment.

He moved through the snow lands, glad to finally be grow, and free from his Mother, Arian, and Dervla.
This far north, in a land that looked it knew nothing but winter, maybe he would finally be able to live in peace, far away from the too-active foxes of his family. He had dreamed of solitude ever since he was a kit. Perhaps here, he could finally live out that dream.((Worst intro post eveeeeeeeeer.))

Shin chuckled at her joke, replying, "I suppose it that kept your stay mind of nice and snug." He glanced and sniffed around as they continued, the scent of other foxes growing much stronger. Though he couldn't tell exactly who they belonged to, Shin could pick out the smell two of his siblings with Loki. "So when was the last time you saw someone?" Shin decided to ask. He had been split up from his family fairly early on.
Kyou had no quarrels with Rae's new plan as they turned back toward the lake. The faster they returned to the others, the sooner he would find their children safe. He nodded, though unconfident in the fact that the hunters would be able to find food on the tribe grounds. The small animals would be hibernating and the larger game would have migrated in the early stages of the blizzards.
The vixen lying before Athena finally began to show signs of life. "My name's Athena. I'm a member of the Kousetsu Tribe, just like you," Athena assured her. It didn't surprise her that they didn't know each other. The tribe held an innumerable amount of members. 'Though the number may have diminished by now,' she thought, sadly. She wasn't sure where her parents or her twin was. Something told her they were alright, but she wasn't sure.
She shook her head, pushing that thought to the back of her mind. "Can you stand?" She asked the vixen.
Still a fair distance from her destination, the lake, Terra was surprised when she picked up the scent of a fox. It wasn't one she was familiar with, thought she wasn't surprised considering the enormity of the tribe. She saw the swirly-designed fox ahead. His fur was an array of blue, purple, black, and white. She couldn't, however, find the tribe's symbol tattooed onto him. She raced up to him curiously. "Hey!" She exclaimed to get his attention. "You're not a member of Kousetsu, are you?" She slowed to a stop as she neared him.

He watched as the vixen approached him, surprised to see anyone else in this desolate land. And she mentioned a tribe, as well: what sort of foxes would willingly live in a place like this?
He remembered some of what Mother had taught them, that there was a tribe which thrived in the north, in the cold: Kosetsu, one of only two tribes with two elders. But, more importantly, they were large, perhaps nearly as large as Bamboo. He would not find the peace and isolation he had been hoping for here.
"I'm not," he told her, several minutes later: Mother had taught him enough manners for him to know that simply turning around and leaving without a word would be impolite.
Even though that was all he really wanted to do.

"In that case, welcome," Terra replied with a smile. A few moments of silence passed, and Terra didn't fail to notice that the other fox looked a little uncomforable. "So how is it that you wandered up here?" She asked. "It isn't often the foxes just stumble upon us." Then again, just before the storms hit a large number of ffoxes arrived and joined the tribe. Who knew how many were left now, thought.
