My for real band camp is in August from 3-7 and the 10-14, everyday from 8-5. It's at my high school if we get a lot done we get to come in at 9 during the second week. We have to bring our own lunch, and um, dunno whats up with you guys, but ours is free. We just have to pay band fees for the school and the guard has to pay for uniforms.

Personally I'm going to a camp at Sweet Briar college in VA July 13-17. I had to pay 300 dollars for that. I'm really excited though. smile

We have our band camp at the school for just our band, and it's free, and the boosters provide the lunch and drinks.
This year, I am going to a professional band camp called Donner Mine Music Camp. I'm excited. It's $400 and they feed us.

Well sometimes we use the same silk but we normal get new silk. But they are taking the whole flag pole and all. So we keep having to get new ones or make new ones ever year.

Or I going to at least steal back the swing flags, 1 6ft flag and the 5ft flag back from my sister. she can keep the silks but we need our poles it cost a lot to replace them every yr.

Ah i see. Do you guys buy the silks from a place, or do you make them? Our instructors designed them at band hall then ordered the fabrics then our parents cut and sewed them. lol like a mini workshop

We have our Band Camp at Lake Ann Baptist Camp. I'm not quite sure what the cost is because it is all thrown in with the overall cost of marching band so...
Our's starts next monday the 13th Im so thrilled.
We have a fun band dance(the ba-dance to me and my friends) in a barn-looking building in town and it is tons of fun! We also love to go swimming in the lake during break time its soooo much fun.
Do most marching bands do home band camps or away band camps? I haven't spent the time to read this entire forum but most people have home band camps. I want to know now. Im curious!

Our band camp is a five day thing that happens two weeks before school starts. We don't have to pay, since it's only a day camp that involves our BD unlocking the fine arts building. Once school starts, we have Monday night practices, and extra practices on Wednesdays for pit and percussion people, which I am a part of.

Band camp isn't that great, just six or seven hours each day with a few decent breaks. Well, percussion people, specifically the pit, are put into the empty choir room and left to our own devices for all five days. We have to bring our own lunch, and we don't get a lot of time for breaks.
I never bring lunch, though, just a few power bars and a large bottle of water.

I love band camp, mostly because it's just a good opportunity to catch up with all my old friends and prepare to see how well I'll work with the freshman and decide whether I like them or not. It's also a great chance to catch up with our BD, whom I am quite close with. He revealed to me before school ended that he was considering The Beatles as our show theme for the coming season.
