Our yearbook was always awful. We would get two pages (since we would rebell against the school if we got less), but considering the sports took up about four.... Our pages included guard, marching band, concert band/wind ensemble, and jazz band. One year, they put in a picture of a different band with our show instead of us. Really, we had different uniforms, no props...it was so obvious to anyone who had seen our show. Or our band. You can tell the yearbook doesn't know anything about our band.

i cant stand how some schools just dont care about the band or music department in general...
our band is finally getting some recognition cuz our new BD is working to recieve it. We have always gotten our pages in the yearbook tho.
i remember freshman year, we had a picture of a senior soloist playing his soprano sax, the yearbook club called it a clarinet = P. Last year, in the full band picture, i was the ONLY person who had a single name printed lol everyone else had their first and last names, i just had my first in there. Cant wait to see what they screw up this year haha

The yearbook crams all three of our bands together in one page, and yet dedicates a page to each of the teams for the same sport (freshman, junior, varsity)
At least they get the name's right...

My eighth grade friend's yearbook put an orchestra for one of the bands, so it was twice, and then they missed one of the bands, putting the bands one grade up.
Ex: &th grade pic, eighth grade students 6th grade pic, 7th grade students Orchestra pic, 6th grade students.

The tuba section leader got a picture that was at least 5X bigger than the only picture they put in the yearbook of our Drum Major. I felt so bad for him crying

They dont consider our band a sport or even a club anymore which is really REALLY annoying.

They didn't put a full band picture in our yearbook, they took random pics from football games and put them on a page. then they put about 1/4 of a page was jazz band, and the rest was color guard. (there are 4 girls in our guard...) i was all... "Jazz band and guard have nothing to do with each other, why do they share a page and why do 4 girls get more space than the 20+ kids in jazz band? and why is there no full band pic?"
NOTE! I'm not against guard, i love guard, alot of the stuff they do is soooooooo cool!!!!! i just didn't think that was fair to the jazz kids that didn't get pictured with the jazz band because they gave so much space to the guard.

Luckily for us, we've had band kids or band groupies in year book. They've sent two photographers with us all year and throughout winter drumline. They even had one at band camp. ^_^ And all the times that they were taking pictures, they don't have ONE of me. I'm kinda frustrated about it because they have multiples of several people that were their friends, but at least there's band pics. We got no names. Just tons of pictures and one quote, which really bugged me. The quote was from a senior who came in the third quarter (almost the end of the year) and barely did anything. She complained about everything... Like the wind. It's not that damn windy. She's a effing clarinet player. I'd like to see her try wearing a sousaphone(sp?) out there. Nothing against clarinet players, but I just think it's ridiculous to call something so small and light heave when your arms are atleast not level with the ground, and you're not carrying a hunk of metal... Floutists, too... They are so light. Saxes, brass instrument, and drummers have a right to complain about heaviness in my opinion... I mean, nothing against anybody, but jeeze...
I just realized that I went off on a totally different tangent, and I apologise... Anywho, the one quote annoyed me, as did the lack of names.

I think the worst thing that has happened involving the yearbooks, was that they mixed up names. I thought that was still pretty stupid of them.

Well, its not about band, but my yearbook picture was in the grade above me. Now in 50 years, everyone will think I failed grade 10.
