Fox Demon Shippo Golem and me had a conversation on breeding/eggs a few years back...we discussed how the old couple are probably so senile, well....Old Lady: "Oh, dear me, those Pikachu seem to be very friendly with each other." Pikachu: "Oh GOD, harder, mmmmmm...."
Next day... Old Man: "Oh my, where did this egg come from?"(Hidden to prevent innocent eyes; scroll over but I bear no responsibility for your actions)
I also believe that the legendaries can't breed in-game because they'll refuse to breed in captivity/etc. rofl Oh stars, the mental images.

It's bad enough one of my friends drew a disturbing image of a Diglett using Dig on a Pikachu.... @Sugary: Yep. You're as old as the series is in America.

Au contraire, poppet. I was 13 or so when I received Pokemon Blue, and the entirety of the experience 'elped me find friends online and change the scope of my life--just ask Neth. We shared Poke-fandom from the start. Treat yourself with more respect, develop a sense of personal decorum. Reach out. There's no reason not to.

We shared Poke-fandom from the start. Treat yourself with more respect, develop a sense of personal decorum. Reach out. There's no reason not to. Yes, I first got into Pokémon when I was nine and got my first Pokémon game when I was almost eleven and I can say without a shadow of a doubt that I would not be who I am today nor have the friends I have now and have had in the past, were it not for Pokémon.
But this guild is more like a small collection of the black Mareeps of the fandom. We tend to like our Pokiemans with mature themes, so topics like, "Pokémon as a food source?" or "How could X and Y Pokémon mate?" are normal business. Don't let them scare ya off, kiddo. I swear we're one of the last bastions of sane, smart fans left.
I wasn't quite sure what the complaint to begin with was, so I just took cues from Golem and ran with them. Forgive me if I missed the mark.

I got Red version and a GBC for Christmas that year. I am really thankful for discovering it, because I too would not have a lot of the friends I have now if it weren't for finding it back then. I wouldn't have my boyfriend either.

I was in... maybe 8th grade when Pokemon took off at our school. I remember one of my friends giving my my first card: a cubone. And for my brithday that year, one of my best friends gave me a pack of base set cards, and it had a holographic Polywrath... We'd go the next city over on weekends to do the Toys R Us card leagues... I've got a lot of fond memories based around Pokemon... And I've met a lot of people through the TCG and, of course, this guild.

It was before I got Gold, but I was at a flea market with my family, and one of the card shops had a basket of commons, four for a dollar. So my parents let me get four, and I chose Vulpix, Ponyta, Onix, and a Fire Energy.
Ah, the memories.

I wondered that for a long time. Back in R/B the cubone's mother gets killed in the pokemon tower yet pokemon don't die. Confusing plot much?

No, Pokémon do die, as evident by the Pokémon Towers in Lavender Town and outside of Solaceon Town, and that one kid in the Sevii Islands in FR/LG who makes that monument to honor his dead Onix; They just don't die in battles, which is the BS because in the First Movie, everyone was all concerned because the Pokémon were fighting to the death.

I know old age and other causes (like if a charmander's tail flame goes out)

I guess they can get killed by guns too. There are guns in Pokemon. Remember the episode where Officer Jenny was training the Growlithe and there was a robber guy with a gun, and Ash commanded Pikachu to attack him, and Pikachu was scared because he saw the robber's gun? Then Jenny scolded Ash for putting Pikachu in danger.
