Well, it would seem I now have a bit of responsibility around here. eek
And as such, I would like everyone to know I will be doing my best to keep the forums organized. If it seems that a thread has gone missing, check the appropriate subforum. Please do not make new topics in the main forum if they are more suited to a subforum, and -- unless someone strongly objects and the Captain or someone else with high authority agrees -- simply saying "please don't move this to a subforum because no one will see it!" is not an excuse. I'll be starting off slow to make sure I don't overstep my boundaries, and for a while I think I'll only be moving the obviously misplaced threads (like avatar/Gaia threads, etc.).
Cheers, everyone!

It would seem that I too have renewed responsibility in our lovely guild. I will be working to organize our threads, and I will do my best to send a timely message to those whose threads I shift. I will also refrain from moving a topic until I am absolutely sure it is, in fact, misplaced. Keep up the good work, you all!

Captain Amaranth You're right there, the names of the subforums do need a bit of clarifying, to say the least. Yet another thing on my to-do list, I suppose. I am, however, loathe to put a description as a name (a nifty, smaller description would be much better). I'll see what I can do. EDIT: I've changed the names of the subforums a bit, I hope they are clearer now (if they're not, do say [think of a better name for 'Geographical'?]). I've tried to make them clear, without them being little more than a list. I hope I got the right balance. :/ If not, do yell
Lovely! (^_Q) Hmm... might I suggest Terrestrial or Telluric instead of Geographical, if you wanted a change? (But I think Geographical works, too.)

See, I have no problem with the whole... "Your thread wasn't in the right area," thing, but...
I rarely visit the subforums.
And by rarely, I mean... if even once every six months. (I'm not alone in this, either.)

I'm popping over to the feedback area on the main forums to suggest some sort of notification on new sub-forum posts.

Are the Subforums also going to be managed? I was in the Arts and Media forum and there are a few repeat posts and at least one that doesnt belong there. Perhaps now that everything is labled properly it won't happen anymore. Just a thought.

(I'm not alone in this, either.) Then visit them more, good fellow! [That is what this thread is about, after all]

i do believe that there is a growing number of misplaced threads, and they should be moved with or without discretion. I for one lurk the sub-forums alot and find many innovative things there in the Crafting are and more!

Kurisu of the Hellfire And bug Gaia to make sub-forum notifications more obvious. The thing with that is, it only takes 2 seconds to click a sub-forum and once inside you can see what's been newly posted. Really it's a matter of laziness amongst us, not inefficiency amongst Gaia.

I too am probably guilty as I have no idea which sub-forum to use for any given post and also feel that it may be ignored there. I almost never bother to check sub-forums since I usually assume they are meant for role-playing. My bad.
As a side note, no one ever bothers to use the sub-forum for misc chat at my Geocaching Guild. So we're not alone.
