Dearest Journal,
Hail the White Stag. Three weeks have passed since my escape from imprisonment. Upon arriving and presenting evidence of treachery amongst the ranks of the sixth ring, I was accosted and restrained within my own home. The world as I know it has changed and I with it. My fair Geiseilia, how I long for your vast expanses of lush rivers and valleys, the tender glow of your neisorunes and the sound of the wind's laughter as it danced across my fair city. The days of my appreciation for that safe comfort have left me and I have, regretfully, been forced from my own kingdom.
But I lose no hope.
My eyes have been opened now and I must do something in which to aid my people. While it may be from a distant world I am unfamiliar with, I will not rest until the aristocrats have met their end in the very dungeon I was held.
This new world is but one of countless pools of collective energy throughout our universe. It is named Gaia, a lovely name, and harbors many of varied stations that all seem to coexist within one great ring. It intrigues me with its social structure and odd inhabitants, but I have found it a hospitable place that I am thankful has accepted my humble being upon it.
I will make a new life here, for me and those who have followed. My Bell, and a boy named Penterino. I do not understand yet why he stays on beside me, but I have found myself glad for his company. While this newfound freedom excites me to no end, I write this, faithful journal. I will return to Geiseilia and undo what my negligent naivety has done. In time, all in time.
Until I can safely return there to resume my role on the throne, I have found myself a living quarter here. It is a small hovel of unusual design. It distinctly lacks the flowing architectural detail of my home and appears as a simple rectangular sort of shape. There is just enough room to fit a small family of three to four people comfortably, although it is bare. The currency here is much different than Geiseilia as well. They appear to use what it called 'Gold' to purchase goods and service, rather than Bigeilune, the crystallized essence of my world.
Fortunately, we happened upon an agreement for the house in exchange for a predetermined payment by the circulation of every thirty days. I will need to find a way to procure this gold, but the land owner was a kindly gentleman who explained several ways for it to be procured; one being to take up arms and fight their own unusual war against animated objects...This world is ever strange. Thankfully, I have been trained in the art of combat, by my father, and find myself with a ring to begin my own journey.
I will catalog it here, as well as any other useful information. Despite the wonders of this new world, I have to admit that one of the most curious things is the bell that hangs from my neck. It is a strange thing that harbors a new life that will soon begin. I cannot fathom how I will now support it, but I will try, for our sake and our makeshift family.
I write much of so little...forgive me. I will write again soon, I give you my word. So please, hold my story for now, dear tome, and repeat it as I cast my gaze upon you once more. Farewell.
- Eilender, Crowned Prince of the Seventh Circle of Geiseilia. --Hail the White Stag.

Eilender had worked hard. Several odd jobs had helped to furnish his new house and it was beginning to feel like a home. Granted, it was a very modest array of things he'd come across. There were the leftover beginner furnishings from those who had moved beyond the very plain looking items to the more extravagant.
The boy had managed to finish his bedroom, the living room, bathroom, and the kitchen with luck and battles that seemed to keep coming. However, one room had not been finished and it promised to be one of the most important places in the house - the child's room.
Granted, it had all the necessary things. It had a bed and a dresser for clothes, the window was framed by some fabric he'd gotten on sale. It was livable...but not by the standards of a Prince. Eilender well knew he couldn't afford a lot of the luxuries that he had been provided growing up, but there were still certain things that every Geiseilian child had, regardless.
The first thing was a garden. Nature was a big part of what his world was and it was considered a gift that needed to be tended and cultivated. Well, they didn't really have room for a garden. Not that the boy hadn't tried, but had found himself confronted with a hoard of people who roamed the town, picking anything that wasn't buried and cemented into the earth. He'd just narrowly escaped from being asked for money by random vagabonds who seemed to roam the forest looking for gold, for some odd reason. So an actual garden wasn't really feasible. He had learned to make due since his arrival though and set about procuring some wood and soil, a few packets of seeds and something the child could water with when it emerged.
With a few nails, some cursing, and a splinter or three between him and the materials he soon had a planter box mounted just outside the child's window. He didn't know whether it would be a boy or a girl, but it didn't much matter in his culture, so it didn't occur to him that the child might not like all the pretty flowers he'd invested in. Bah, the child would learn to like it - or he would just buy other seeds, simple as that.
It wasn't much, but the seeds of life were just as frail as the one that hung by the cord around his neck. The boy sat on the bed and gently chimed the bell, giving a sorry kind of smile to it. "I'm sorry I'm bringing you into a life of poverty, little one, but I hope to make you richer for it in spirit. Just like the seeds we sow, we to shall grow beyond what we are now." He looked again at the scarcely decorated room and sighed in resignation for the time being. "This to shall pass."

Things were coming together nicely. Eilender's efforts had taken down a gnome squadron and as a reward he had been not only allowed to keep their goods but had received a bit more gold to spend freely. The first thing he thought to do was to buy his companion a bouquet of roses. A note was attached to it explaining how much he appreciated all the boy had done and the patience he'd invested in this new life. It wasn't the diamonds or pearls he could once hand out freely, but it was the first spending money he'd had in some time and he knew that it would mean something to him.
The second thing he thought of was the child. The man knew that the child would need something to call its own. Clothes and a garden were nice, but what child went without anything at all to play with? On Geiseilia they had spirits who would often charm and entertain children and the luxury of the botanical parks for them to play in...but here...not so much. Not that Gaia was a bad place to raise a child, but he wondered and what he was supposed to do with it when he wasn't around to attend it. It had to be something safe, clean, and at least somewhat entertaining...
Strapped for ideas, he decided to check the newspaper for sales. A lot of it was odds and ends of things he wasn't entirely sure were appropriate for a toddler. Tentacle vibrators in odd purple-blue colors, coupons for an escort service run by a strawberry shortcake, 10% off of Madam Gazpacha's sugar cookies, amongst other things. There was a lot of things that suited all manner of different species - but what in the world WAS his child going to be? It had to be something that was usable for any child and wasn't going to scar them for life. After a lot of sifting through junk he was able to find something and promptly ripped out the coupon and headed out the door.
It was late afternoon before he was back and assembling it, a table of earth and water melded with shadow soon forming itself in the child's bedroom....or in other words, a beach playset table! The little one had half of the table to build sand sculptures in and half in which to sail small ships and imagine the high sea. A little umbrella of green and blue covered the table to provide some shade (although it wasn't really necessary in a room) for the kid to relax in. To make it a little more personal, Eilender also painted the sides it and the planter box to match with a gradient wash of reds and gold with some blue splashed in to give a beautiful contrast and brighten the room.
Every little touch brought him closer to feeling like a father, something which he seemed to be looking more forward to with every new thing he added into this corner of his world.

The night had been a peaceful one and the morning a joyous occasion upon the discovery it hadn't been a dream and they now had a little girl. Right after breakfast Eilender introduced the child to her own room and her planter box, eager to have her plant her first seeds. A stool had to be found for her to stand on so she could be beside him but soon enough they were at a manageable height to plant the seed packets.
Eilender was nearly gushing as he opened the first one and poured the seeds into her tiny hands. The little girl looked wide eyed at the pile of odd pods in her hands and held them up to him to see as she did. Eilender moved them a little, stroking back her hair as he picked one up and began to explain. "This, precious little one, is a seed. It is the beginning of all life from the earth, just as you were born from...well...your bell." He showed her the planter full of dark soil, putting the seed down and pushing it out of sight. "Like this seed we plant our roots at the very beginning and grow from there, with lots of love, and lots of time. Now is your time to plant your seeds to cultivate and care for. Right at the beginning, so you'll grow with this special joy in your heart as will the flower that will bloom one day."
The little cow didn't seem to grasp the magnitude of his words but instantly felt the strength of his emotions that went into it. She smiled wide and made a happy sound, following his example and fervently pushing the seeds into the soil. It was far less elegant than her father and her hands were quickly soiled by the dirt, but she wasn't scorned for this and rather brought forth a hearty laugh from the prince as he encouraged her. Another two packets of seeds were opened and the little girl happily pushed them into the dirt, happily giggling and hopping around as she watched the strange things vanish from sight.
Eilender held her steady on the stool and kissed her head as the last seeds were planted. "I'm so proud of you, my little one." The girl turned in his grasp to latch onto him again, nestling into the strong chest. "Papa!" The little cow found herself scooped up again and tossed a short ways in the air, caught by confident hands and then held close. "I am your papa. And you're my little bell...Belle...that is what I'll name you, my beautiful Belle." The girl squealed with glee, clapping her hands and then reaching up to hug him. "Papa's Belle!"
Eilender leaned down for her to hug him as he shifted her to being held by one arm as he picked up the watering can he'd priorly set aside. He sprinkled the cool clean water over the place their seeds had been sown and then set Belle down again on the stool. He gently took her dirty hands and held them out, waiting until both were over the planter before pouring the water than over them to wash away the soil, causing her even more glee as she shook the little drops into the sunlight.
This was the beginning of a bright new day for both father and child. Neither could be happier for the time spent bonding than they were at that very moment, whether or not the little Belle quite understood it all yet. All she knew was that she was loved, and that was the most important birthday gift her father could give.

Eilender & Belle Eilender hadn't really an idea of what he was doing. The boy had gotten by on the clothing from daily chance and working to afford the lower end of the market's fashion. However, he knew it was different now. They were shopping for a *girl* - their little girl - who would most likely not be alright with wearing hand-me-downs. Despite his slightly melancholy demeanor, the child seemed excited. The little cow child trotted alongside her father, holding into both of their hands as they traveled into Barton. She'd never been in the town before and everything was so pretty! Rina's flower shop gave the air a fragrant scent and the crisp spring morning caused her to nearly jump for joy at how beautiful the sunny day was. Looking up to her fawn father, she smiled brightly, squeezing his hand gently as they drew nearer to their destination. Penterino Penterino smiled back warmly, returning the little squeeze as they walked. "Don't worry, sweetie. We'll get you all sorts of pretty things to wear when we get to the store." Eilender & Belle The tiny cow tail and fluffy cow ears swayed and wiggled in anticipation as she turned from her fawn father to Eilender. "What sortsa things will I wear, Papa? Will I be pwetty like you and Daddy?" Eilender looked down at the child, not even sure how they could afford this, but presenting an optimistic smile to his daughter. "Even prettier, my darling. We'll find you something lovely to wear." Penterino The fawn skipped cheerily on his heels. "Of course we will. I was scouting about for stores with good outfits and Gambino has some lovely things for little girls." Eilender & Belle The child grew quiet as they crossed the piers that connected the mainland to the tropical island. Her eyes grew wide as she beheld the beautiful flowers, their bright colors and tall palm trees. The trio boarded the ferry and soon arrived upon the glorious white sands. While this was nothing normally special, the child delighted in seeing her hoofprints appear behind her, turning to watch them dissapear as the waves crashed into the shore. Eilender gently beckoned her along until they came to their destination and his power was completely ineffective. He smiled a bit sheepishly at his partner, hoping he would take over Penterino Penterino walked slowly over to gently scoop up their daughter to carry her. "Come on, Belle, let's go inside. We can play in the waves after we finish our errand, hm? I think you'll like what they have inside. I saw plenty of pretty little dresses with lots of ruffles and bows that you'd like." Eilender & Belle Belle nodded, curling against his chest and nestling there contentedly. Eilender smiled warmly as the fawn passed him by with their daughter, his tender gaze lingering on them before he caught up to them and confirmed the fawn's words. "Your Daddy is an excellent judge of clothing. He's going to make sure that we find you something special. Right, sweetheart?" The prince strode ahead a little, holding the door for his lover. Penterino "Of course. I went scouting through all of the area shops yesterday while you two were home." the fawn agreed happily, petting his daughter's soft fuzzy ears as they made a beeline through the store to the section he'd found. It was definitely full of small sweet little dresses, that was for sure. Lacy little things too. Eilender & Belle Eilender followed, glancing around at all the delicate lace. The outfits seemed beyond him but he did find some accesories that had been displayed nearby, many of which were ribbons and the like to match. Picking up two long tailed bows with bells attached, he held it up to her hair to see what Penterino thought. They had to have a start somewhere, right? Belle seemed to like it. The girl reached up to run the ribbon through her hands. The bells softly chimed as she moved the tail ends about, releasing them to see how it would look. Penterino "Mm if we get some for her hair, we must get some for her tail." Penterino declared cheerily. "After all, your tail is just as pretty, ne, Belle?" Eilender & Belle Belle nodded, clapping her hands. "Oh yes, Daddy! May I pwease, Papa?" The large brown eyes peered up at the man so prettily he couldn't say no - though he wouldn't have even if not for those eyes. "Of course you may, my little starlilly, here." He picked up a third ribbon and held it up to her tail, jingling it a little to please his little girl. He succeeded, Belle hugging on to the one who held her, leaning up a little to touch noses. "Thank you!" Penterino Penterino nodded and nuzzled her back. "You're welcome, sweetipie." Next bit of business was cute little stockings and socks with bows on them. Eilender & Belle The cream color complimented her skintone perfectly, though the hooves might cause a problem. Eilender decided to try his hand at dressing the girl in something substantial and picked up a ruffled yellow skirt. Before he put it up to her and embarrassed himself, he looked to Penterino for approval of whether or not this even went with her. Penterino The gray furred male thought for a bit before nodding. It would be okay. Yellow was not the most complimentary color for Belle but it was certainly not her worst and it was cute. Eilender & Belle Picking out a matching blouse of soft yellow and cream ruffled lace he held it up to her, smiling at how beautifully it went with the rich brown patches that adorned her. A bit more adventurous he picked up something a bit more practical for her to play in. It was a denim dress with golden clasps on the shoulder straps, it was certainly easier to clean than the ruffles and he held it up for them to see. Bell was indifferent. She adored the beautiful, delicate lace and ribbons, but thought the plainer dress was pretty cute to, and followed Eilender in seeking Penterino's thoughts. "Isn't it cute, Daddy?" Penterino "Yes sweetie. That will be fun." he agreed. "Maybe a pair of overall shorts too, Eilender, dear?" Eilender & Belle "An excellent idea, that way you can play without worrying about messing up your pretty new dresses, honeybun." From where he'd gotten the dress he found some shorts, comparing the sizes before taking one off the rack. It was Belle's turn as she glanced around, facetting on something pretty. It was an orange sundress, simple yet feminine that matched the ribbons they had picked out. "What about that one, Daddy?" Penterino Penterino carried her over to it and pulled out the dress so she could see it better. "You like it, sweetie?" Eilender & Belle Belle nodded, reaching out her hand to run it over the light fabric. "I like it a lot! Do you like it?" Eilender followed them and looked over the dress, curious about what his daughter considered pretty. The cow girl pointed to a flower hair pin that seemed to match it well enough, with clean white petals branching out and a few gold accents to reflect the cheerful orange. "I like that to, Daddy, but I'm ok with only one..." Penterino "We can get it, pumpkin, don't worry." Penterino promised with a smile. Eilender & Belle Eilender fetched the hair pin and set it on the dress. The boy was completely unable to supress a grin as he watched how wide her eyes got and that smile as she beamed up at them with the genuine enthusiasm and honesty only a child could have. "Thank you, Pappa, Daddy!! Thank you so much! I love it!" Penterino More searching for pretty items and accessories later, they had a large pile of things to buy. Penterino smiled cheerily as he shooed his love and their child out of the store. "I'll wait in the line to pay. You go get Belle a treat of some sort, hm? Get one for yourself too. I'll be along." Eilender & Belle The boy nodded and kissed Penterino gently before taking their daughter to get a snowcone. She'd never had such a treat before so he thought it would be a welcome experience for her. Soon enough the two of them were seated on a bench near the marketplace stalls, both holding rather large, rainbow snowcones. Belle needed some assistance in that but found herself quite capable of eating it, colors streaking her nose and cheeks as she leaned in to try and take a bite out of the vibrant syrup laden treat. Penterino It didn't take long for Penterino to arrive with their bags and plop down beside his lover and their child. "Well that took less time than expected." he chimed pleasantly. Eilender & Belle Eilender smiled and offered the fawn a bite of his snowcone, wondering if he liked that sort of thing. "I'm glad you're here. I can't manage all this by myself, sweetheart, though our little girl is making a valiant effort at hers!" Belle giggled at her father's joke, sticking out her tongue playfully to reveal it had turned all manner of colors as well. Penterino Penterino laughed and leaned over to take a teasing lick of the snowcone as well. "Mmm quite yummy indeed." Eilender & Belle Scooping Belle up into his lap so he could help her hold her snowcone and be close enough to enjoy his with his lover, Eilender made himself quite comfortable. Later he would ask how they had been able to afford all of this but right now they were all that mattered and he simply allowed himself to enjoy the closeness of his two greatest loves.

Eilender was in the kitchen when his daughter poked her head in. The usually happy girl looked distraught, her ears drooping low and her eyes cast down into the linoleum tile. "Papa?" The voice caused him to start a little from the dishes he was doing. The prince turned to see what was wrong, as the tone of her voice was enough to worry him. The little girl shuffled her hooves a bit and wrung her tail in her hands. She looked as though she might have been crying but it was hard to tell, as the man had never seen her cry. Eilender moved to kneel before her, stroking back her hair and looking to see if she'd hurt herself. "Sweetie, what' the matter? Did you fall?" To this Belle shook her head but returned his question with one of her own, "Papa...one of the kids in the neighborhood called me fat. What's fat? They started laughing at me when I asked them. Is it a bad thing?"
Oh dear. The boy didn't quite know how to answer that. The longer he paused to think of it the sadder she looked, beginning to sniffle after a few minutes of silence. Eilender quickly shushed her and drew her into a hug. "T-There there...it...well.." The child began to cry which caused the man to panic and blurt out, "It was a compliment!!!" The noise subsided as the cow child peered up at him and wiped away one of her tears. "I-It is?" Eilender nodded, giving his best smile. "It is! Fat means...plentiful! The best! Here." Scooping her up, Eilender carried her to the living room and pulled a dictionary off the shelf. He settled them both down on the couch and looked up the word, knowing she couldn't read very well yet, but enough to get some of it. "*Ahem* Fat: the best or most desirable part of, abounding in desirable elements, yielding profit or plenty..." A confused look met some of the words and he took it down a notch, kissing her forehead. "It means you're a beautiful little girl with plenty to love, sweetie, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Not many people know that word is a compliment either - so you're special, and you know more than a lot of folks."
It was satisfactory for her. Belle gently rubbed the tears from her eyes and smiled up at him, nestling close into his protective arms. "I love you, Papa." Eilender smiled warmly at her and kissed her between the ears, giving a squeeze before setting her back down. "I love you to, darling, now go play and remember what it means." The girl nodded and dashed off into the yard again, resuming her innocent frolicking where she knew she was loved best by the one who watched over her from the kitchen window.

Eilender & Belle The large yellow rose was fascinating to the little cow. Belle peered over the lush petals with wide eyes, astonished by how painfully beautiful it was. Eilender had warned her beforehand not to touch the stem, and lingered close by, watching the child explore the floral shop/nursery. The particular specimen was a shrub rose, displaying clusters of the bright yellow blossoms that stood out brightly against the tender leaves that poked through. Eilender had not only decided to take her to see the flowers, and maybe buy some, but to teach her the things she would need to know to tend her seeds. At the moment, it was simply how to recognize the flowers, which even he was learning through use of a guide. "That one is called Golden Celebration," he chimed, "It's a shrub rose, and takes a very long time to grow, so make sure you don't touch it, as it can be fragile. Here." Eilender kneeled down to one of the closer blossoms and indicated for her to get close. The girl followed his beckoning, admiring how the illustrious petals matched her sundress, and soon found a new appreciation. "It smells so good, Papa!" As soon as she got close, a strong, sweet smell of citrus was tangible from the flower. Belle leaned in to take in more of the rich fragrance before moving back a bit and waiting to see what else there was. Still within her father's sight, she moved a little further down the row of roses, poking her head around the end corner in curiosity. Ebby Ebony Morgan was happily bouncing into that same floral shop/nursery just about that time. Her hair was back in to long braids under a lovely white bandana. The purple child was in overalls today, looking about for some flowers for their garden. She and her siblings had decided that with a property as big as theirs, a garden was necessary and probably a good idea for something as a bonding activity. As the spawn cheerily wandered among the flowers to see what there was, she spotted something even more interesting. "Awwwww! You're a coooow! That's so cute!" the little girl exclaimed and immediately rushed over to say hi to Belle. Belle While anyone else would have probably been weirded out a little by the enthusiasm, Belle smiled wide at the girl and waved. "Thank you! My name is Belle! What's yours?" Ebby "I'm Ebby! Nice to meet you! Can I hug you?" the purple spawn was exceptionally excitable today, her white wings fluttering up and down behind her as she looked at the cow child and her fluffy little tail and soft fuzzy skin. Belle Belle nodded and opened her arms wide. "I would like a hug very much, Ebby!" The eagerness couldn't have been more genuine. The soft cow ears wiggled happily and and her little tail flicked back and forth at what seemed a million miles a minute. She liked this new person! Ebby The older child put her arms around the fluffy little bovine and picked her up a bit as she did, snuggling the toddler. "You're so sweet!" Ebony proclaimed as she snugged her, wrapping her soft wings around to brush the tips of the feathers over the other girl's arms. Belle Belle cuddled into her gently, uttering a happy little moo before noticing the wings as they trailed her arms. "My goodness gwacious! You have such pwetty wings! They'we so soft to!" The girl was careful not to muss them as she reached up to gently touch one of the feather tips, letting it go on its way after admiring it. Ebby The girl giggled a bit. "Thankyou. They're from my one DNA-Mommy - she's an angel." the elder child explained with a smile. Belle The child was confused but smiled sweetly regardless. "What's a DNA? Awe angels a type of biwrdie?" It was obvious that she hadn't quite learned the concept of religion yet, nor what in the world an angel was supposed to be. It had wings though, didn't it? So it very well might be a type of bird! Ebby Ebony broke into a few more giggles at that. "DNA means your blood and stuff - it's what makes you look like you and all that. And Angels are special people. They come from another place and are supposed to be really really good and have wings and stuff. My DNA-Mommy is a Kindness angel. She's really really nice." Belle Belle looked absolutely amazed, thinking about what sort of people angels must be. "Youw momma must be vewwy pwetty, like you!" The girl looked back towards where her father was keeping an eye on her from a distance and looked him over a bit before deciding he wasn't an angel - although he was pretty! She looked back up at Ebby and wiggled her ears a bit in thought as she remembered why she was here. "Do you like flowers to, Ebby?" Ebby "Yep! I like all sorts of things! What kinds of flowers do you like the best, Belle?" the older girl asked, bouncing the child a little on her hip. She was used to carrying pudgy toddlers - her sister was a panda, afterall. Belle The child pointed at the roses, a particular one catching her eye. "I like dose! They'we so pwetty, and Papa says I can put them in my gawden!" Ebby Ebby grinned when she looked at them. "They ARE pretty! I'm sure they'll look very nice with your other plants. My brothers and I are starting a garden too. I came to pick out plants today." the older girl explained. Belle Belle inclined her head little, happy but curious. "What sorts of flowers do you like, Ebby? And how do you pick? Thewe a` so many!" Ebby "Oh I don't know. I sort of like all of them a bit. I'm trying to pick things that will grow nicely together and that my brothers and sister won't mind." she explained, walking a bit more towards the flowers again with the girl. "Where shall we look first, Belle?" Belle & Eilender Picking a path with LOTS of colors in it, she pointed. "Thewe!" Eilender had noticed them moving farther away and began following at a distance, leaving the child to socialize but still keeping her within his sight. After all, he didn't need her getting lost or into a plant she shouldn't. However, Belle seemed well behaved enough to know better and resisted the urge of picking any nearby flower blossoms as they moved. "How do ya know what goes togethew, Ebby? Is it a special twick?" Ebby "Based on color and asking the workers for for help. Workers here are supposed to know about the plants so they can take care of them and answer people's questions. So they can tell me what can and can't grow near each other and stuff." the girl explained with a nod. Glancing back and seeing Eilender, she smiled and waved. Though, given her eyes didn't open, he couldnt' quite see the glancing except for in her head turning. "Is that your Daddy?" Belle Eilender waved back, smiling at the child. Belle nodded to the query, waving back to her dad. "Yep! That's my Papa! He's so nice to me! And my othew Daddy is to, but he's not hewe." Ebby "Aaah, that's really nice. It's good that your fathers are nice." Ebony murmured, leading the tot into the row of colorful flowers she'd been directed to. "Wow, these are all so nice. Help me pick out a few?" Belle Belle eagerly began pointing to a couple in her favorite colors. The combination seemed to be a soft yellow, white, brighter shade of yellow, and then a mixture of orange/pink tone. "I like these! Which ones do you like?" Ebby "I like them all. Though maybe the organy one will go best. I was thinking of geting some more yellowy and pink flowers and we already got a bunch of white ones to start out so this should go nice with it." Ebby replied, leaning over to look at the name on the flower, but still keeping her distance. Belle The little sign read 'Flamenco Sunset Carnation'. It seemed to suit the thing, as the ruffles fluidly fell into one another, spreading out into whispy frills on the very end. Belle nodded in agreement to the combo. "It'll be gowgeous! What else should we get?" Ebby "Hmmmmm I don't know. Maybe something blue and purple? Then we could have a rainbow flower garden." Ebby told the child, mentally jotting down which plant she wanted to get. Belle Belle looked around before noticing some rather round looking flowers that looked a lot like pom-poms. "What about those?" She pointed towards what she meant, wondering at what in the world they were supposed to be. They were pretty enough and looked like they came in a lot of different colors, including blue and purple. Ebby Ebony smiled gently at Belle and nodded, carrying the girl around the store some more to look at flowers and pick things out. After a while, they had a bunch of neat plants picked out and the purple child had to return her new friend to her father. However, she was sure to promise Belle that they'd meet up again. Such a sweet little thing.

Mimosa's Arrival It wasn't often the Prince had the luxury of a day off. Eradication of the gnome forces beyond the borders of the city had meant a sense of quiet and security. It also meant there was less need for hired fighters, the end result being that it was now past noon and the boy had only just gotten out of bed. Blurry azure eyes scanned the kitchen as he emerged from the quiet sanctum of his bedroom and made his way into the living world. The first thought on his mind was his lover bustling around the kitchen making pancakes. However, coherent reasoning swiftly dampened that thought. Penterino had told him last night he would be going out this morning, so there was no happy fawn boy to chirrup 'Good Morning~!' today. An indistinguishable utterance fell from him as he cursed his luck for having missed him.
The second thing that came to mind was a great deal more tangible and had been watching her father from the hallway. "Good morning, Papa!" the sweet, feminine tones rang clearly through the morning air. Turning his attentions to the one from which they had come, a smile played warmly upon his features as he beheld his adopted daughter. The small cow child beamed up at the man with depthless brown pools that shone with genuine enthusiasm as the dappled sunlight played across them. Eilender moved to her and scooped her up in his arms, bestowing a gentle kiss to her forehead as he held her close. "Good mowning, sweetheart. How long have you been up?" The child nestled in close against his chest and made herself quite at home. "I been up since Daddy left. We made muffins! But that was a long time ago..."
Realizing that had probably been early, Eilender carried the girl to the table and set her down on a chair. He moved to the refrigerator and peered in, grabbing this and that for sustenance. "What sounds good, honey?" The boy continued working towards lunch as, "Salad?" came as the reply. Within a few minutes of tearing some lettuce and throwing in other things, the child had lunch and was munching away happily.
As this would keep her preoccupied for the moment, Eilender moved from the kitchen to go check the mail which had most likely come already. Most of it seemed to be the usual junk. A coupon for skittles, a movie flyer, and some sort of celebrity advertisement. Junk. However, there seemed to be an envelope mixed into the usual mix, and curious, he brought it inside to see what this was about. It was marked 'Seven of Seven' and came in a very plain, practical sort of envelope that did not betray the contents. Upon opening it though, azure eyes widened. Apparently, fate had entrusted him with yet another child!
"No." Was the first thing he uttered as he held it at arms length and pleaded with it. "No no no no no. We can't feed another child!" Having forgotten he was not alone, the man jumped a bit as a high pitched squeal broke forth from the toddler. "Anodah child?! Does this mean I'mma have a sistew?! Or a bwothew?!" The man nodded before shaking his head. "No, Belle, we really can't...I mean...we could...but work has been slow...and what if...I don't know what to do about this."
The wembling was cut short as the little girl slid down from her chair and ran over to grab his hand, pulling a bit. "You take a baff and go get my bwotha or sistew, silly." "I do?" To which the girl nodded and pulled a little more, releasing him only to cross her arms a little and look up at him. "If we don't go get them, they might be sad! An` hungry! They might even cry! You don't want that, do you, Papa? Cause that would be so sad..." A sniffle broke loose and the little cow covered her eyes, fluffy ears falling into a sad sort of state. Eilender had never seen her cry before, so it was understandable he was greatly upset by the idea and moved to make it better. "Shhh! Shhhhh, don't cry, please don't cry, sweetheart. I'll go get in the shower and then go get them. We'll make it work...somehow." Peeking betwixt her fingers, the sniffling quieted. "You pwomise?" "I promise." The girl perked up considerably after that and smiled as, true to his word, she watched her father go to get ready.
It was about an hour before the boy was ready and set out. The facility was local enough, so he simply walked there by means of the included directions. Soon enough he made his way inside and stood before the receptionist.
As he had brought the letter to verify his claim of being chosen to care for a child there was no problem and a technician was summoned with the appointed child. Rather than the child being led out, it seemed she was being carried.
At first glance, Eilender was fearful she had been harmed. The small figure lay perfectly still in the technician's arms. By no means was she what he had expected and struck the man silent as he observed her. The first thing he noticed was her skin tone. The girl was distinctly a soft sort of pistachio color, flesh giving off a dull shine as the light reflected off of her. The tail was the next thing, the long slender appendage was curled up against her figure. Unusual as it was, it seemed to get stranger at the end, for large feather-like protrusions seemed to have fanned out in a starburst, their vibrant tones matching the long bangs that framed a peaceful face. The color ended there, for beyond the bangs did soft silken waves of brown flow down to the small of her back before tapering. From within those tresses did another oddity appear in the two horns that elf like ears and protruded from her, a trait associated with demons although she was oddly calm for a child that looked so much like one.
What in the White Stag's name was she? "And she's?" the boy began at the technician as the child was carefully transferred to his arms. The tech shrugged, his job done. "Sloth Patience. Lucky you." Well...that was friendly. Eilender narrowed his eyes at the man before carrying the sleeping child from the building.

The girl slept the entire way home. The girl slept as she was laid down on her father's bed. The girl slept until Eilender was on the verge of calling a hospital to see what he was supposed to do - and then she woke. For the first time in hours the girl's eyes opened to the sight of the ceiling. The calm cream expanse was comforting, although the deep blue eyes sought more. Where was she? How had she gotten here? These questions were not vocalized, but sought silently as she languidly pushed herself up to find her guardian sitting on the end of the bed, watching her rise as he set down the phone.
"Thank the Stag you're awake!" The man spoke, his voice hinting at past distress and dawning relief. A smile played upon his pallid visage, eyes matching her own observing her from beyond blond tresses scattered before his gaze. The girl absently reached up to touch her own bangs as she noted the similarity and found herself smiling to mirror him. This caused an even greater sense of relief to him as he moved closer and gently lay a hand on her head, rubbing softly. "Are you alright? Do you feel ok?"
The man found this only caused the contented, sleepy look to turn to confusion. A different approach was taken. "What's your name?"
Not speaking for a while, she wondered at it. Did she have a name? Had she ever had one? She didn't remember having a name before now - so probably not. Not that it was a problem, she was sure. Shaking her head she waited for him to speak again. It came as another question, a nervous sort of question. "Oh...well...would you like me to name you?"
The small girl inclined her head a bit, closing her eyes as though about to fall asleep before she nodded and opened those eyes to gaze up at him.
Eilender reached for his nightstand and fished out a book of flowers he'd bought for Belle. The vibrant pictures and descriptions often served as inspiration for him and did not fail to deliver. Midway through the book was a flower called the sleeping grass, the touch-me-not, "Mimosa?"
Slow as the child was to respond, the name caused her to smile wide, reaching out a hand to brush his. "Mimosa...I like that name."
That decided, Eilender scooped her up into a hug and stroked her hair a bit. Like a doll, Mimosa simply allowed herself to be cuddled before yawning wide and nestling into her father's chest. The child only spoke once more that night. "When's bedtime..?"
