TheFateOfTheUniverse Melchior727 Freakezette Okay, so I think the next subforum should be a japanese only forum, but I'm trying to decide what the format will be. Should it be kana only? Should people double post in kana and romaji? or should it vary thread by thread? I think as long as it's in Japanese anything goes should be fine, with Kana/Kanji encouraged. I think it could be either way. Like having one Thread be for regular kana/kanji users, another for just hiragana/katakana, and another for romanji. it shoulb be all writing styles obviously, if you can venture to a japanese only forum you must know how to read japanese. besides, kana and romanization are always available upon asking someone.

Freakezette prettypinkpiggys I think we should have a manga/anime sub-forum. No doubt the others are awesome but you know...I just think I'd rather have a manga/anime sub-forum. sweatdrop I perosnally thing having anime/manga covered in a "japanese pop culture" forum will be enough, but there is an out-cry for anime/manga only, I suppose it could happen. . . what i see at anime manga forum here at gaia, it is filled with idiots who think they are living at japan and they spread false information too. the pop culture forum seem fine.

I think I'll make two new forums, one that is Japanese only, and another that will kind of a Newbie/Anything goes forum. I still don't want any bumping or spamming, but it could be a place for people to post introductions, and just talk about any topic, Japan related or not.

Sounds good, but does the guild account have the 4K needed for both subforums?

Koiyuki Sounds good, but does the guild account have the 4K needed for both subforums? They cost 2,500 each, but we have over 21,000. Still, I want to make good use of members donated gold and buy subforums that people will use.

And I think we need some sort of guild chatterbox thingamabob

But still no spamming or bumping, I just think there are plenty of places for that.

Yes, it could be a place where wthe people could post any intersting Japan related pictures they find, or stories/essays/art they want to show. How soon do you think you could get this subforum?

Hmm ... now when there is an "Anything goes"-forum, what exactly are we supposed to post in the main forum when something which doesn't suit the other sub-forums theoretically should be posted in "Anything goes"? :/

If the topic is about Japan and doesn't fit in the "Learning Japanese" or "Japanese Pop culture" sub-forums (say Geography/History) it can stay on the main page, however, if has nothing to do with Japanese or Japan, it will be bumped to the "Anything Goes" forum. blaugh

Question to Kita Cloud. Shouldn't the "conversation" threads from the main forum be moved to the "Learning Japanese" subforum ? Just a thought.

That is a good question artemismeow. They will not be moved since they were created a good while back and the owner of the Guild has not moved them. I think why they are on the front page is because it's the most frequently viewed page. Also, the beginners and intermediate conversation threads are a means to try and communicate in Japanese, not really to teaching or learning Japanese thread. The thread are there for members to try and use what they already know and have help correcting things, but not to ask specific language questions unless the question is in Japanese. blaugh I hope that my explanation has clarified the issue a bit.
