As the retreating light fled from the oncoming shadows, Kiba closed his eyes and allowed his senses to immerse in the oncoming night. The day time animals were quieting as they bunkered in for the night. The woods were barren of the soft thumps of rabbits, thundering pounding of hooves, and whistles of the few birds that remained in the forest even though winter. Though the familiar buzzing of bugs that normally dominated the night in summer were at peace where ever they were. His eyes opened when the sound of his companion's meal ceased and he felt eyes on him. Warm, liquid gold eyes returning her gaze after a quick look at the remains of the rabbit he pushed to his paws and flicked his ears as he moved to look at the remaining sun that glared through the forest. "You should be heading back." He commented lightly as if stating a fact. Surely he didn't expect her to stay in these woods. Most wolves in this world were quite domesticated. Loving in the warmth of those houses. Though he had expected this to happen, Kiba found himself bothered by the thought of losing his short-lived companionship with this wolf. He didn't wish to be alone again.

The quiet of night's arrival made her close her eyes to tune in to the end of the day, as the soft wind continued to push her fur around. Among the gently buzzing of the constant bugs, she heard a faint, sudden chirp of a cricket and jumped. Eyes blinking and ears flicking, she shook her head with a small laugh at herself. The excitement shone on her features when his golden eyes were warm when he turned to look back at her. Following his gaze at the sun, back to his eyes, she made the comparison to herself. The tone used to present the information hid the meaning in it for a moment, and she didn't frown immediately. Until she had processed the words, where a small, almost lonely scowl came across her lips. She felt trapped inside that cubby Mesk helped her set up. It may have been warm, but it wasn't her. She'd felt trapped too many times to like something like that. Voice quieter than it had been, a little less confident, "Oh...I....guess...you're right" But even so, she made no movement to get up and leave. "But...." She started, not sure what to say, "......It's so nice out."

Noticing the scowl that touched her expression Kiba's brows pulled together and he let himself wonder for the moment that perhaps she didn't want to depart so soon. Though as soon as her voice caught his attention he frowned. He had thought they had gotten rid of her quiet uncertain tones. Lowering his gaze he gave the faintest nod and softest sigh. She said she was going to leave or at least in so little words. But her unconfident tone finally keyed in, she was reluctant? Losing his frown to a small thoughttful smile he tipped his head when she spoke once more. He gave a breathy chuckle and slowly rose to his paws. "Well, then why don't we go on a walk?" He wondered with a subtle smile and tail sway. "The forest all ways looks different after dark. Perhaps we'll find something interesting."

Her eyes gently flickered upwards to him, and she saw the scowl. Very faintly, she winced. The last thing she wanted to do was upset him...did he...want her to leave? Sure, her voice did get empty again...but that's because she thought that he didn't want to be there with her any more, and now it seemed that she upset him. She began to get up, to leave like she thought he wanted, when his expression changed, and she froze, confusion briefly covering her face. A small smile pulled at the corners of her jaw, eyes getting a small sparkle. He wasn't upset with her? Absently, her tail gave a swish when she heard the softest laugh. She smiled at him slightly once again, I"d like that." Turning her paws to follow at his side, she gently padded over, with inquisitive eyes. The confidence was back in her voice. "Wonder what we'll find..." Trailing off, she looked at him to lead.

Ears forward in question as his golden gaze stared intently at her when a forlorn look entered her eyes, he slipped his perked ears back soundlessly against his head. Had he bothered her? Feeling his heart flutter in silent worry, though when her own expression froze in acute confusion he held the soft smile and watched as her own appeared. Picking his ears up cautiously as if he thought the tiny movement in it's own would make the twinkle in her eye disappear. Returning her own tail sway with one of his own he felt his subtle smile grow as his ears caught her answer. She would stay. Though it only stayed larger for a short while before returning to it's soft, comfortable state. "Who knows.." He commented lightly as he led them off through the forest. Head tilting up to gaze at the stars slowly peeking into existence, Kiba felt a sense of excitement when the sight of a full moon caught his attention. It was a nice night to find something to see. Perhaps the lake first. Nodding off to a small worn path through the trees he spoke quick joy evident in his tone. "This way." It should be well dark enough to see the water nicely.

Without realizing she'd done the first tail swish, her tail swayed again after his, and continued to flicker gently behind her. Her heart felt warm, and sheltered around him. She was wanted somewhere. Now Lynn, don't get caught up in the same thing over again, the chide rose in her mind as she blinked. It was all but forgotten at the sight of his smile again, and his cool voice. Trotting after him, she remained in the shadow of his paw-prints instinctively, before she found herself next to him once more. Following his gaze, the moon brought an immediate, full smile to her face - the fire in her eyes seeming to be fed by the chalky white circle she had locked her eyes with. As if in a trance, she didn't notice Kiba, until his voice shot across her mind. Jolting back to reality, her ears whent back, and then forward, the sudden change apparent on her face, before she smiled again and briskly totted after him.

Twisting his left ear slightly to the side as he listened to her paws fall into step behind him, Kiba felt a gentle frown touch his features though he didn't speak. If she was comfortable behind him, he wouldn't take her from that. But he didn't need to worry over it for long, because he soon felt her presence shift and caught the sight of her patched fur. Bringing the smile back he continued on down the small path. Pushing the bushes out of the way, and holding until she was through when needed they soon came upon an area where the trees appeared to hang over them casting an eerie shadow on the ground and area around them, looking over at her he tipped his head in the direction of the trees and stepped through moving the branches with his shoulders as he passed. Waiting for her to fallow he stepped towards a lake that seemed to be glowing faintly. In truth it wasn't a lake, it was shallow only came up to a few inches above their paws around the outside. But towards the middle it dropped down quite deep and thats where it gave off a blue hue. The area was encased in drooping trees, except for directly above there it was parted in a crisp circle allowing the moon to shine straight down. "I always guessed the moon caused this." He murmured as his golden gaze held to the moon that stared down at them. The area was worn down from his time here. He guessed other could call it his 'den'. And it was mostly like it. "Do you like it?" Kiba questioned as he turned his calm eyes upon her. Though his whole appearance was relaxed, something deep down was honestly worried about her answer.

It seemed easy to forget her instincts around him. Letting there be two sets of paws instead of one was reckless...but the patched wolf couldn't help but be just that. Not around him. Catching traces of a changing expression from the corner of her eye, Lynn swiveled one ear out of confusion. If she had upset him, all was good now. And that's all that mattered. Bouncing along more quickly, ears pulled back timidly, as he held the way for her out of another habit she found hard to break. Not surprised, but more relieved that he didn't let the prickly bush slam into her, she looked at the surrounding shadows. The trees looming over them, moonlight peeking trough the trees to give them a soft, mysterious glow...it looked like something out of an old witch's tale. She loved it so far, and the flame in her eyes flared back into life. Then a movement from him set her to follow. They were going towards them; she was excited. Taking care to avoid a collision with a branch and a stitch, she eventually made it through to him unscratched. Lynn stopped dead in her tracks at what lay before her - gaping at the sight - awestruck. Trees seemed to protect this place; wrapping their trunks over the water and those who roamed at its edges. The blue reflections seemed to give everything a calming tone, as did the moon providing the area with life. Just as suddenly as her awe started, it burst into a bright flame in her eyes; dancing with the reflections of the water. Obliviously, she padded forward to feel the cool water on her paws, and the soft and wet clay just beneath it. Then, she stopped, and turned to him with a grin. "This is....amazing. I would have never known something so beautiful existed." She mused for a while, feeling her tail swish behind her.

Watching her intently when she took in the view laid out before her, Kiba felt his muscled relax at her expression of awe. Tail giving a few gentle sways behind him, his golden eyes shined as he stood to the side and let her walk to the water and examine in silence. Inside the tight circle of trees, the chilling breeze of winter was chased away, leaving them in a comfortable temperature. There wasn't much snow scattered on the ground either, aside from the slight frost that coated the blades of grass. It was his private paradise, and even with that her opinion weighed heavily, even if she appeared happy his unanswered question caused a hint of worry to linger in his glowing gaze. So when she turned to look at him, he took a slight step forward. Ears attentive as he listened carefully to her, at first Kiba didn't react, though after a second or so a smile grew and he gave off a faint chuckle. "I'm glad you like it Lynn." He announced truthfully as he began an approach towards the water himself. "It took me awhile to find this place. I don't think anyone really knows it's here." Staying a long the edge, Kiba a first sat, tipping his head back to gaze at the moon before laying. The glowing water cast a bluish hue a long the side of his white coat, and his tail swept the grass behind him. "I hope this was worth staying for?"

"It's beautiful.." She murmured. She more than liked it. She..didn't want to leave. This looked like it'd been here for a long time. The beauty that never dies or fades, but instead grows more striking as time passes. "I'll bet... I'm just happy it's not been ruined by intruders." She replied fluidly. It was a shame when the world's natural wonders got defiled because others want to harness the power themselves. Normally the thought would have caused a horrifying flashback. But around him...she didn't have to worry about her thoughts, or her past, creeping up on her. Lynn remained standing for a little, as she followed his gaze to the moon; like a floating, pure heart in the sky. Only round. She found that the smile wouldn't leave her face, and when she'd broke the moon's hypnotizing spell, she sat down, somewhat close to him. Then the blue glow of the water soothed her, and she'd laid down beside him as well, resting her head on his side. "To be honest," She started lowly, "I don't really like that house. It makes me feel trapped." Suddenly, her tone changed, "Kiba thank you. This was definitely worth staying." And her tail flicked subtly, but quickly; as if getting back into the habit of wagging.

Watching her expression intently as he watched the expressions she wore. Beautiful. Turning to look up at the moon that hung above them Kiba felt the ghost of a smile touch his own expression. It was surprising, but it made him happy that she herself was. Turning an ear to listen closely when he heard her voice, Kiba let his head dip just slightly in a nod to show he had listened, and agreed. This was his home, and he mostly kept others from finding it when he could. The last thing he wished was to have others show up and ruin his peace. This was his paradise, and he wouldn't let it be taken away. Tensing just slightly at the thought of such a thing happening he let the idea drop from his mind as she moved causing his golden gaze to drop from the moon to her. Watching as she sat beside him, Kiba felt his smile form just a bit bigger. He was enjoying her company, it was strange for he thought he never would. Feeling his tail begin to softly thump against the ground when she laid down resting against him. "I'm glad." He spoke softly, his tone low and hushed as he shifted his position to be able to lay his head on the ground close to hers. "You know.. If you don't like staying at the house. You could.." Pausing, Kiba let his sentence hang in the air for a second before he turned his gaze to look out across the glowing pool of water. "You could stay here." Keeping his gaze out towards the scenery around them he felt his tail still as he thought over what he had just said. Sure he wouldn't mind having her around, in all honesty he enjoyed her company. It was calming in a way, much unlike how he felt when he was forced to be in the company of others. He wanted her to stay, but what if she didn't wish it? Giving off a silent sigh he returned his gaze to her and softly added. "That is, if you want to."

Lynn could feel herself being watched, but for some reason, as the moon still held her gaze, she didn't seem to mind it. It almost made her feel....safe. To know that he was watching and examining her. When she didn't hear a reply to her comment, she glanced over at him and found herself startlingly overjoyed to see a faint smile across his maw while he nodded at her. She wondered how he'd found it, but decided it was best not to ask. All that mattered, was that he had found it. And she felt special and close to him for him having shared this wonder of nature with her. She thought for sure, though, that she'd be pushed away the second she'd entered his bubble close enough to be able to touch him. She was surprised at herself for getting that close to someone she had only just met the afternoon before. She thought of all the other times she was so easily won-over and a frown put a damper on her smile. All of those times...ended rather tragically. She feared this would be the same, but her sorrow was soon taken off of her mind when a thump from behind her sounded as Kiba wagged his own tail. The gentle smile flickered back to her lips as she turned her head to him while he spoke. Anticipation filled the air as his sentence hung on her ears, flicking for a continuation that hadn't yet been spoken. Once he did finish however, Lynn's face lit up brightly. Did he...had he...really just say that? Well, that was unexpected! Her ears perked up, and she almost felt like a puppy awaiting a reward. Though...his tail had stopped. Did that mean..he was unsure? She wanted so badly to know what he was thinking, but he was so mysterious...and she liked it. The same kind of guy she always fell for...mysterious. But she trusted Kiba. "Are you...sure I wouldn't be imposing? I wouldn't want to ruin your paradise..." She mumbled, then felt that he was discouraged, almost. "O-of course I'd like to!" She smiled at him brightly, and her tail swept the ground beneath her.

As his gaze stayed on her own he gave a gentle tip of his head. Ruin his paradise? Giving a soft, subtle shake of his head with a smile of his maw he let out a quiet chuckle. Such a wolf as her wouldn't, though the thought stayed in the back of his mind. What would he do if she wound up telling some wolf of his little home. Feeling his ears twist back as he looked out at his paradise imagining all of those noisy annoying wolves that seemed to always be at the cramped house running around. Mood darkening briefly at the thought he briefly closed his eyes and drew into his thoughts. Surely she wouldn't do such a thing. Picturing her bright smile as she looked at him brought one back to his expression and with a soft nod he opened his golden eyes and looked down at her. "Of course you wouldn't be imposing Lynn. I would like the company, though.." Pausing for a second his expression changed to a serious, and somewhat pleading look. "Just promise you won't tell anyone of this place. I like the peace it brings me daily.. I would like not to lose it. I can trust you with this right?" Voice low as he spoke, Kiba kept his soft gaze on her. He wasn't sure what he might have to do if she refused to, chase her off? Feeling a deep pain at the thought of having to do such a thing to her, when she had been so withdrawn and somewhat skittish when he had first come across her. The last thing he wanted was to see that wolf to return.

Hearing the light huff of a chuckle, Lynn's ears flicked to catch the warm sound. As she looked at him, tipping his head, she smiled. While it didn't suit him, she thought it was cute none-the-less - and that reminded her of her little Nina. She was about a year old, now. Suddenly, his mood changed with a twist of his ears. As she watched him with a slight anticipation, she once more wished what went through his mind. Her tail stilled and her ears were no longer perked. Was he regretful, of the offer? She'd sure hoped not...Relief showered over her when he had opened his eyes with a nod, and her smile returned, ears flicking tentatively. "I'm glad, " She started before the pause. His countenance turned to serious, firm, and even daunting look, and the patch-work wolf chewed lightly on her bottom lip, awaiting for a scolding, or parameter - something that would restrict her to stay with him. As he spoke, Lynn started to realize that Kiba...wasn't like the other wolves she'd run into. He was a real sweetheart underneath, "I promise, Kiba. I wouldn't do something to betray the kindness you've shown me." she vowed with a soft smile, "But...there is one wolf that I'd like you to at least meet..." her Nina always had trouble falling asleep without that song to lull the nightmares away, and she had wondered what her pup was up to at the moment. "Would you...come back to the house with me to see her?"

Taking note of her actions, Kiba refrained from nosing her maw to stop her from chewing her lip as he waited for her to answer him. To promise she wouldn't betray his show of trust in her. He must be an idiot to trust so easily, he had just met this wolf! Eyes scanning her face he felt tense when she finally spoke. She promised. That was the only word he really took to heart, his paradise was safe. Visibly relaxing, he coaxed up a small smile to answer her own soft one. Glancing away from her face to look around the area, his gaze was instantly called back to her when her voice beckoned. Head tilting in question ever so slightly, his brows pulled together just a bit and he wondered who she could be talking about. A wolf? Dropping his gaze to his paws he drew into his thoughts. Back at the house.. How he had made a conscious effort to stay away from that place. His old pack was often around there somewhere. But Lynn wished his to meet someone, someone close probably. Tail swaying quietly behind him Kiba gave a soft nod. "I will go with you." He announced kindly, looking back up at her as he picked up his paw and set it over hers momentarily before drawing it away as he stood. "Shall we go now? It is quite a walk back to that house." Shaking out his pelt to remove it of any dirt that might stain the brilliant white, his golden gaze looked around them once more as he sniffed at the air figuring out the direction of the house. Once found he turned took a step in the direction they would be heading before stopping to wait for her. Kiba's tail continued it's soft away as he wondered who this wolf was.
