Loki watched Ryan and his opponent fight, staying away from confrontation. They are really good, they handle their Mobile suits way better than I can, better to stay out of this and support if necessary

Ryan checked the friendly forces and saw that two DINN's and four GINN's had joined the fray, one in particular caught his attention, but only for a moment. A warning light told him about two Strike Dagger bearing toward him, beam sabers drawn. He drew his blade and returned the determination. The two pilots were using group tactics, a necessity he guessed, as the two pilots who were coming at him were well trained... but unlike the Duel Dagger that was engaging one of the other DINN's, these pilots were not ready to take on a Coordinator pilot alone. That other pilot must be a fluke, I suppose. He mused. The first Strike Dagger, came at him with a well aimed thrust, while the other made a slash toward the head, but the DINN's atmospheric maneuverability was clearly being underestimated. He backed off and lowered altitude resulting in two misses and a miscalculation from the two Natural pilots, the two bashed against each other and the shield arm of one suit getting sliced off by the other's beam saber. Immediately seizing on the confusion Ryan slashed with his blade, and disabled the one that had lost its arm, cutting off the legs and remaining arm. The suit crashed to the ground, and the remaining dagger switched to its beam rifle and backed off, firing at Ryan.
Iquel caught one of the new DINN's by surprise and bash it with his shield, finishing it with a beam rifle shot through the cockpit and an explosion to mark the kill. Iquel sighed, but a yell through the com-line for backup called his ear, and saw the black DINN take out one of the Strike Daggers. He aimed his rifle and fired at the suit while it was engaged with the other Strike Dagger. I have absolutely nothing against you ZAFT guys... but I swore to protect Bella, and circumstances put you on the wrong side of that oath. He thought as he dove into the escalating heat of battle.

Loki finally grew impatient and joined in, firing a suppression on the Dual Dagger that was taking on Ryan. He floated a little behind Ryan in a position easily able to dodge the Daggers guns and to far to easily get close. He checked on Ryan, then focused on the Duel Dagger.

Bella looked up at the black speaker above the door to the infirmary. There were wounded now. Her pulse rate quickened as it always did. Bella wanted to someday be a front-line medic. Maybe there she would be more useful. But first she had to prove herself here. Working extra hours, like she had been for weeks, handling and overseeing multiple cases, she was currently working on that part. Bella really didn't know what more she could do. All the same she readied herself for the incoming patients.

"Hmph. Don't think I'm so easily had." Iquel cut his thruster and held his shield up to block the fire. The Duel Dagger fell to the ground, skidding forward as he landed on its feet with a little burst of leg thrusters to lighten the fall, taking out many trees in the process to slow his momentum. As he slid slightly he turned to face the two suits aiming upward at them with his rifle and fired a grenade in their direction. He timed the shot so that it would explode in front of the DINN. It would be stupid to engage two ZAFT pilots at exactly the same time, but he made sure that he was aware of both suits, while concentrating on his initial target. The cloud from the grande blocked the DINN and he fired his beam rifle at it.
"Thanks for the assist, Loki." Ryan said over the com-line. As the grenade exploded he moved off to the side in time to avoid the attack, but it was only the DINN's maneuverability that let him to successfully avoid the attack. If he had been in a GINN with a GUUL he might have been able to keep his suit from damage, but the GUUL would have taken a hit. "This guy is good, he's not a normal Natural, that's for sure. I'll take care of this guy myself, Loki! Go help out, Renault, he's caught in a pincer by three suits." As he said this, a flash from the side showed that one of the standard GINN's GUUL get shot out by the Earth Forces suits, and he had to detach and land on the ground where two suits were seizing on the grounded suit. "It looks like this base is loaded with the Earth Alliance's new mobile suits, and if things keep going the way they are we'll have to back off and rethink this." Ryan said through the line. "No heroics out there! I'll get us out of here with as many of us as possible!" He said with finality as he drove toward the Duel Dagger, unfolding his blade. I've gotta take it close to this one... even if this guy can skewer me with one of his beam sabers. He thought.

"just keep yourself alive, they'll skin my hide if you die" Loki replied. He dropped, coming up on the three suits from below, his head vulcans tearing up one suit, his machine gun another. He dispatched one of them with a quick slice with his blade, knocking the other away with a kick. "Keep yourselves alive you dolts, If any of you die, I'm coming after you and you won't hear the end of it!" Loki cried to the ZAFT forces, backing up Renault.

The wounded were beginning to come into the clinic now. Almost instantly the room was filled with chaos. Bella, while trying to check over all the incoming patients. She was helping anyone she could, but also looking for one man in the crowd. It was, for once, a relief not to see him. "Be safe Iquel." She whispered taking the hand of a man who had just entered. She led him off to a bed and began to care for him.

Ryan smiled. "Well, that's some comfort." He said turning his concentration back toward the Duel Dagger. He dived toward the enemy mobile suit and slashed with his arm blade.
"Tch!" Exclaimed Iquel, drawing one of his beam sabers with his shield arm. He leaned his machine backward to avoid the attack. As he engaged in the maneuver, three of the signals from the allied machines were lost. He narrowed his eyes. He had an idea to disarm the DINN, but he would have to do it quickly... and he'd have to be very lucky. Iquel punched the thrusters to full thrust and it pulled him up as he maneuvered into a backflip, a move that was decidedly difficult and dangerous to do in atmosphere with a suit like a Duel Dagger. As he flipped he sliced with his beam saber towards the dark colored DINN.
Ryan's eyes opened in surprise. To even be able perform that maneuver with a heavy Duel Dagger spoke volumes about the pilot's skill. In his surprise, the enemy's attack made contact, slicing through his arm blade. "Damn!" He said as he backed off. Things weren't going the way they should have. A warning came up and he identified several more enemy mobile suits, and more fighter planes. "Damn! They have two units for everyone we take down!" If it were just fighter planes, that wouldn't have been an issue, but when it came to mobile suits, that was an entirely different kettle of fish.
The g-forces from Iquel's maneuver slammed against him, and he barely retained the consciousness to get his machine to land on its feet. He blacked out for a few seconds, but came to and took everything into account. He saw from the corner of one of his view screens two fresh Strike Daggers engaging a GINN and he shook himself back to awareness. His nose was bleeding heavily. He always pushed his machine to the limits, more than he intended.
Ryan saw the Alliance reinforcements pounce on the GINN, its pilot was caught unaware and was soon skewered by two beam sabers, straight through the cockpit. "ALEX!!" Ge cried as the GINN exploded. Before he could react, he heard a call for help from another GINN on a GUUL. Ryan flew off to help him in time to see both the legs of the GINN get cut off by a well placed beam shot. Ryan drilled the Strike Dagger with bullets and grabbed the GINN's hand before it fell to the ground. "All suits, disengage immediately!" Ryan called through the com-line. "I repeat, all suits disengage! We've stayed too long. We don't have the forces or the equipment to take this base. Return to the Armand!" He then spotted the Duel Dagger that had out performed him and sighed. Thinking quickly, he drew one of his "armor-Schneider" knives and threw it at the Duel Dagger. He then blasted away back toward the Armand.
Iquel was still disoriented from blacking out, and the warning light took him by surprise. He noticed the dagger flying toward him. He dizzily dodged the attack, but the dagger still got a glancing hit with enough momentum to knock off balance. The Duel Dagger hit the ground hard and Iquel was jockeyed around the cockpit by the impact.

Loki heard Ryan's command. He pulled away, using the vulcans and machine gun to keep the Strike Daggers at bay. At the last moment Loki fired a few rounds at the Duel Dagger and retreated to the Armand. "Hey Ryan? That Natural was good, maybe better than both of us combined. Thing that is bugging me though is his style resembles yours somewhat." Loki said.

Bella passed quickly from one soldier to another. She had to pause for a moment. She felt something strange that seemed to wiggle her fears awake within her. Bella couldn't understand why she felt this way. She looked down at the man bleeding before her. She pictured Iquel's face on him. Tears burned her eyes, something must have gone wrong. She smiled warmly at the man and gently she led him into another wing of the infirmary to be cared for. She looked out the windows every time she had a chance, in case she would see his suit.

Iquel held his shield up as the bullets came close. When he lowered it, all of the enemy suits had gone. He sighed and worked to get his machine upright. He turned the eye lights on, making his way back to the hangar.
Ryan sighed and nodded. "I'm starting to see that myself." He replied. "I didn't think about it at the time, I just seemed to flow into the rhythm of the fight... and he seemed more in tune with it than I am." He admitted. "I think that if that guy wanted to takes us both, he probably could have. But... I just got a feeling when I was fighting him, that killing was not his intention. He's definitely not with Blue Cosmos... I can tell that much." Ryan narrowed his eyes in thought. For a brief moment he though it might have been his brother, but he shook that thought off. His brother couldn't possibly be alive, he had probably been shot out in his Moebious, or died in the battle at JOSH-A, or Panama. After the massive death tolls at those battles, his mind had become inundated with melancholy. If he ever ran into his parents... he wouldn't be sure he would know what to say.
Iquel made his way back to the base. The suit had something akin to a limp, as the last maneuver he had made had ripped a stabilizer off the leg. It was also to awkward to move the suit with one hand, as he was using one hand to block his nosebleed. He slowly brought his suit into the hangar and stopped at a point where a clamp could move it into position. He tossed his helmet aside and and used the lift hook to get down. He was immediately met by a tech he was friends with.
"Whoa! What happened to you?" Asked Jan with a bright smile.
Iquel gave him a sideways look. "G-forces." He said. "Check the combat data and you'll see why." He said as he walked off. "I need to go to the med center for something. I've got a headache." It was a poor excuse, even though he was telling the truth. He wanted to check on Bella.

Bella noticed that less patients were beginning to file into the infirmary. That was a relief at least, and better yet none of them were Iquel, but then again that meant he was still out there. She had been ordered to walk around the ward now and see if any of the current patients needed anything. She did as she was told. She spoke softly to the men and women, trying to make them comfortable, and assuring them that they were safe.

Iquel walked into the infirmary stopping at a desk, where a harassed looking medic grunted impatiently. "Got anything for a headache?" He asked the medic with a smile. The blood from his earlier nosebleed, had dried up, making him look worse off than he was.
The medic slammed a bottle of head-ache medicine and threw a few wet-wipes next to it. "There. And clean yourself up. Wash your face before you come in next time."
"Will do." Iquel said turning to leave the man to his work. He saw Bella and threw a two fingered wave to show her that he was fine, before backing out of the infirmary to make way for a medic leading a new recruit in who was covering his ears and walking slowly, in a dazed fashion. Must've gotten deafened in combat. You've gotta cover your ears when the big guns fire. He thought.

"Well at least we had the luck to not get killed...." Loki checked the comm making sure no one else was listening. "Hey Ryan, ever think of joining the enemy?"

Ryan chuckled, while checking to make sure that the course was set right. "The Alliance? No... though I would like to visit my parents one day, but I've put myself in a position where they would never take me. And besides, Blue Cosmos is so embedded in the Alliance Military that it wouldn't get very far" He replied to Loki. He saw nothing wrong with the course settings and smiled. "Although... There are times when I've considered joining the Junk Guild." He admitted.
