Day one.
I'm headed up to the Rinaul Mountains for my first sketches in my book. According to the PokeLas (Pokemon Atlas) that my dad gave me, it looks like there are some good ones up there, though none of them are grass types, it should still be interesting to watch them. Maybe I'll even run across something interesting enough that I can put it in the PokeLas. Maybe something no one's seen up there before.. probably not though... Ah well, off I go for my first sketch trip!

I'm about to go into my first Pokemon battle. An officer named Piney, was kind enough to lend me one of his Pokemon for the battle, as I don't have any of my own yet. It was a charming little Skitty named Tomfoolery, who, as I learned very quickly, does not care to have his size commented on, and is, in his opinion, not cute. Despite the fact that our first interaction consisted of his being aggravated by half the things I said, I actually like him. He's sitting next to me now as I sit in the waiting room of the arena, anticipating this next battle. I feel rather confident, considering that my partner for this battle at least has battle experience, and might make up for my lack of experience, and even if I loose, it's merely an exhibition match. It makes little difference whether I win or loose, though I don't want to let down Tomfoolery, as I have actually come to respect him slightly. That was the sound for the trainers to go to their posts, so I need to stop writing.

My first battle.I just finished the battle. After it was over, I gave back Tomfoolery, then went home. I feel terrible. I lost. It was a close battle, and I know I should feel great that I put up that good of a fight against an experienced trainer, but I can't help feeling like I let down Piney and Tomfoolery. I grew kind of close to Tomfoolery in that short time we were together, just because he has a likeable personality in my opinion, and I'm almost positive that the loss was my fault . Also, Piney trusted me with the little Skitty, and I got him hurt. I'm going to try to cheer myself up, but I'm not sure how, exactly...

Precurser to the following entry.I have just returned from a terrifying experience. I can barely write about it. There was a rim of silver to this cloud, though, as I met some new friends. A man and his Pokemon. His name was Dr. Hart. He had several Pokemon, including a Pidgeot named Songwriter, and a Persian named Faaron. There was a fourth that I met, but I will mention nothing but his name here. His name was Menudo, and he was great fun to be with. I do hope to meet them again, though not under the same circumstances.

I've seen almost nothing of interest since my adventure with Dr. Hart, though that kind of interesting events are the kind that I'd prefer to avoid. I've whittled away my days drawing the various Pokemon in the PokeCenter, as I dare not repeat the mistake of returning to the wild alone. I need to get a Pokemon of my own. Otherwise, I will never get a chance to sit and draw in the peace and quiet of solitude, though Pokemon company would be fine.
In either case, I have broken yet another pencil, and I am almost out of my artist's erasers, so I will have to go to the store before I leave. I'm also getting some Pokeballs, I'll need them later.

I've made up my mind. I'm going to go to the gym and see if I can find Choppi again. I really hope she can come with me, because I'm not sure who else to ask. Either way, I'm not going to go try to capture a Pokemon of my own without someone to help me. I'm not picky about what I get, just so long as I have a partner. I've got several Pokeballs and one Ultra Ball, which was recommended by the clerk, so I'm headed out now... I hope this all goes well...

I have not written in this journal in some time, but I will endeavor to remedy that. I am going to battle with Pastel and Impasto today. I don't know much about my opponent, but I need the battle experience. A Peaceful Clash

I WON! I actually won! It was mostly thanks to Impasto, but little Pastel delivered the finishing blow. I'm proud of my serpentine friend. It helped my confidence in him that he performed so well, which is good, since he is my main battler. Perhaps I should get him a prize.
