Soft laughter drifted across the grass, barely audible, from an open doorway where Iris was eavesdropping. She couldn't help it--the flustered antics of some five or six privates outside had caught her attention as she was about to leave the building, and rather curious about how Calla's bonded could have gotten up top she dearly wanted to know.
Hush. As did Silversoul. You'll give us away! Of the two, he was more mature and serious, yet not completely immune to to the enticing thought of lounging atop the roof. Think of the view--the trees, fields, streams...and jaw-dropped humans down below. I wish you'd just go out and ask, he grumbled. His human, rather socially handicapped, was extremely reluctant to ask odd questions of someone she'd hardly met.
Well, it would be unfair to criticize her too much. After all, it was quite rude to bother someone one was not at least mildly acquainted with. But still. I feel like some mischievous rogue of a pup, and I don't like it.
Iris caught the slight undertone. Silversoul was always at her to be friendlier--as if she didn't try--and would use any excuse to force her into conversational situations. I don't think his human knows, anyways, she said indignantly. Think how stupid I'd sound. Besides... she smiled. Why don't you ask Woodwhisp yourself?
Because... He butted her with his head, pushing her into the open. I'm not socially retarded.

"Oh bah, she's only shooting at me and I'm not concerned so you shouldn't be either." WoodWhisp pointed out casually, at this point he had given up all hope of a nap because there was no way he was going to sleep with his rider attracting so much attention. But he was getting to much entertainment coming his way to bother getting up off of Calla. Oh yes he'd let her up in the meantime, but for now he was comfortable, entertained, and lacking any interest in moving. So instead he just stretched himself a bit further and wiggled a bit so he was pinning down Calla's gun arm so she couldn't get himself in further trouble and get him demoted again. It was always such a pain when that happened. "And anyway, anyone whose spent more than five minutes in this fort knows it takes more to control Calla than me." WoodWhisp pointed out, laughing at himself.
"They're not being wasted, they're being put to good use keeping you in line Rayan!" Calla pointed out mockingly, "Only if you can get fuzz butt of me first, then I might consider it." Calla responded. She wasn't serious of course, Rayan was no where near her type. Not that she actually had a type anyway, she didn't really care for people like that. It wasn't that she didn't want to, she just never had. Some thought it was simply because she was to busy with work, but she was actually a very empathetic person when it came down to it.

"And what do you think she would do when she catches you?" He smirked glancing at Rayan then up to Calla. "Oi, Dude if you don't stop messing around with that gun I might as well just come up there myself and take if from you." Domonique didn't like guns flung about willy filly about the place especially since one of them had nearly missed his angelic wolf. Grinding one of his toes into the muddy snow he started looking around, there were almost far to many wolves in the area now. He was more aware of Silversoul's presence than the other oblivious people around him.
Come now Woodwhisp, you know what I mean. Glazedpaw looked back towards the roof of the house. Prancing closer towards the house, her ears twitched back and forth towards Woodwhisp. Would you mind showing me how to get up there? She raised her left paw and gave it a quick lick. Still managing to keep her eye's on the roof, Maybe I can even help control your misbehaving human.

Iris glared at her bonded and walked out into the gathering of people as nonchalantly as she could. "I don't suppose anyone might know how that wolf has gotten up there," she said a bit loudly, in her hapless, awkward way. There, I've done my part. Can I come back now? Of course not. Now she had to go introduce herself to someone. Resolving to get back at her bonded sometime very soon, she walked up to the first girl she saw--Keahi. Five years a wolfrider, and still she hardly these peoples' names.
"Um, hi," she offered with a friendly smile. "I don't think we've met before, but I'm Iris." I sound like an idiot!
You are who you sound like, Silversoul responded smugly. So practice. Really, he couldn't see how anyone might fail to fall for his rider. She looked lovely out in the sun, he cheeks flushed with embarrassment but a pretty smile gracing her face. He didn't know much about curves and stunning bodies, but he really believed he had the loveliest rider here.
I certainly don't see you going and introducing yourself to that pretty female over there, or anyone else, she retorted. But his comment stung--she did need to learn to socialize. So she stayed. She could swear it was the most embarrassing moment of her five years at New Eve.

"Better not let her catch me then," Rayan answered Domonique with a smirk, though he really didn't want to know what would happen if Rose ever did catch him in the act. It hadn't been a problem the last few years he'd known the pink wolf since he'd been with Telia most of that time, but explaining certain things to her had been quite difficult - or so he'd heard Darkheart and Telia complain many times.
"No need, Dom," he continued at the man's next statement, before turning to shout up to the rooftop again. "I'll shoot you myself if you don't stop using that firearm recklessly," Rayan threatened in his commanding tone, one he hadn't used since he was Sergeant only a month ago. But he really didn't want to catch the Captain's attention, because they would all probably end up doing laps in the woods - or worse, Damien would make him train with Rose for not keeping the Privates in control. "Besides, you should know nothing can keep me in line." ...anymore.
The sudden appearance of a new and rather timid woman had caught Rayan's attention. His interest immediately perked up, noting with pleasure that it was none other than Iris Anderson. The woman was a little short for him, but her curvaceous made up for that little flaw. The only problem was she had a habit of keeping to herself and Rayan found it extremely hard to approach her since he could never find her in a comfortable environment. But since she seemed so willing to socialize today...
Rayan popped up between Keahi and Iris, offering the latter one of his charming (and irresistible) grins. If she had been anyone else, he might've taken her hand and planted a kiss on the back, but he didnt' want to scare her away just yet. "Why, hello there, Iris. You're looking rather lovely today, not that you're not beautiful everyday." A wink accompanied his statement.

Quite visibly startled, Iris stumbled backwards with a shy but sincere smile. "I--sir--hello...why thank you." Burning with embarrassment at her helpless awkwardness, she looked at her bootlaces, idly noting that they were actually staying tied today. Why couldn't she be as smooth and together as other young women her age? She felt like a bumbling sixteen-year-old! Really, his compliment hardly sank in, she was so embarrassed. "Forgive me--I seem to have lost my wits somewhere among the centipedes."
No need to be funny, just be yourself, Silversoul admonished gently. No one can criticize you for expressing your nature, but they certainly can if you pretend to be someone you are not.
Taking his advice, she let her false smile fall in favor of her usual shy, girlish one, quite unaware that it made her significantly more attractive. "Um...to what do I owe the pleasure of your company?"

WoodWhisp chuckled to himself, “Ah Glazed, but what kind of magician would I be if I gave up my secrets so easily?” he pointed out with a smirk. And anyway, he figured it should be obvious how he got here, granted from where they were they couldn’t see the footprints. Though it didn’t help that his footprints were on the other side of the fort and along the roofs where they couldn’t see them. But still, they were WolfRider’s, if he could figure it out so could they! Or at least it would be more amusing watching them try to figure it out than actually tell him and since he couldn’t have a nap he would take advantage of the game. Distracted by this concept he pulled himself up and shook the snow from his fur. Trotting to the edge of the roof he looked down at GlazedPaw expectantly. “Though you can certainly try to find a way to get up here. There might even be a reward out of whoever gets up here first!” WoodWhisp said cheerfully, only to promptly be struck in the back of the head by a snowball.
“YES!” Calla immediately jumped up as WoodWhisp, distracted by his own train of thought, got off her. Brushing what snow off of her as she could she groaned. The entire back side of her uniform was completely soaked in melted snow! Oh WoodWhisp would pay for this! She would make sure of that. Kneeling down she dipped her hand into the snow and scooped some up, packing it tightly into a ball she flung it at WoodWhisp, hitting her mark perfectly. That was a warning, the worst was soon to come. Returning her pistol to it’s holster she ran, hopping over the edge of the roof and leaping to the ground below. Her knee’s almost buckled on her as she landed and her ankles stung but it was easy enough to pull herself back together. “Now, now Dom. You should know I’d never actually HIT any of you. I’m almost insulted that you think I would.” Hands on her hips she glared at Dom, but her expression was ruined by her soaked uniform, not to mention the smile on her face. “And Rayan! Stop hitting on the nice young woman!” She scolded him cheerfully, ignoring the comment about him being uncontrollable. Any reply she could make to that would be far to mean, not to mention completely uncalled for. As shocking as it was Calla did have a conscience after all.

Glazed remained in place looking up at Woodwhisp in thought. Well now, I guess that would depend on what the prize is. She flirtatiously flicked her tail while keeping watch on Wood, she had managed to move him off his bond, something that seemed to be quite a feet seeing as everyone around was trying to get them down. But then again, wouldn't you want to show a pretty lady this wonderful trick? She flicked her tail once again letting out a soft high pitched bark.
"You can't possibly be serious Rayan. I could send Glazed to go fetch Rose if you like." Domonique was actually joking but he had half a mind to follow through with his threat. "Besides I think your scaring poor little Iris over here." Pulling the tough guy act in a form of show off, Domonique spun around placing one arm over Iris' shoulder in a she-is-mine-don't-touch fashion while shaking his one finger at Rayan. His eye's danced back up to the roof watching Calla raising his eye brows in response. "But you damn near hit my wolf! Glazed is far more important than any of us!" ((OOC I apologize for my short response im brain dead))

"Hello, Iris. I'm Keahi," she greeted politely, before Rayan come between them. Her eyes glare at him. Now, he is going to scare the poor girl. But then again he can be a terror to all the woman in the fort. "Rayan, don't," she started, but Calla caught her attention when she had jumped down. Ouch, that got to be a hard jump, she thought, as she looked Calla over to make sure she was ok.
Firemoon walked back over to Keahi. She had just walked around the building that Woodwhisp was one, so she didn't find anything. Her ears pricked, at seeing Calla back on the ground. Keahi, now we can go, Calla is free, she told her rider. Keahi gave a look to Firemoon, that told her no. Why do you have you? she asked, knowing why Keahi won't leave. Wolves need to keep their humans in line, she said out loud, yet to no one.
Keahi now turn back to Iris and Rayan only to find Domonique wrap around her. "Will you both leave her alone," she told both of the boys. "Or do I have to make you."

[OoC: Because Starr is an idiot, she seemed to have forgotten what Rayan looks like somewhere in this post. So if I ever mentioned him as a blue-eyed blonde, totally not true. ><]
"Why, your beauty is enough to warrant my company," Rayan responded in a rather sultry voice, never losing the charming smile on his glowing face. Her shyness was so cute that he couldn't help but release a flirtatious raising of an eyebrow at her girly grin. He wondered if Iris even knew she was attractive - it would help, since a woman with some confidence yet humble at the same time was the most attractive thing in his eyes. But the ones who faked it were the most annoying, although he could tell that this particular woman was genuine in her quiet nature.
Turning to Domonique at his offer, Rayan pretended to look horrified. "You wouldn't! Now that's just mean, Dom-Dom. We men gotta stick up for each other. You should know what it's like to be bonded to a clingy girl." He glanced over at Glazedpaw in emphasis, though he really had no idea whether or not she was clingy. But he assumed all females were, since he had yet to meet anyone that refuted his theory. All the women he seemed to start a relationship with never wanted to leave for some reason.
Now these women here, on the other hand, were a tough bunch. Honestly, why would they try to stop him from befriending such a beautiful girl? "Oh, you girls are too uptight. Learn to loosen up. I could help you with that, you know," Rayan remarked suggestively, eyebrows arching implicatively as he glanced over at Calla and Keahi.

After several hours of running, consisting first off with a run along a length of the valley wall and now this speed-testing chase, Rainingwind broke off into full-speed. The barracks whizzed past as Jamie searched for a set-up that would increase her chances when the wolf would let go of the set handicap. Jamie zigzagged her way by buildings, halting to skim her shovel, also known as substitute rifle in this execution, on the snow's surface and lifted some of the powder into the air; a motion to take the place of a real rifle and shot. After the execution of that quick motion, she broke off into a run again as the wolf began at her from her left from across the opening of two rows of buildings at max speed. The wolf had reached his rider in seconds, but it was evident to him that she hadn't given up in the slightest. Jamie had ducked as he went for her back collar and as she spun low while she knelt on her heels in her aim to alter her course and aid her attempt at escape with a tactic consisting of the purpose of inflicting confusion, Rainingwind put his own training to use, following her movements intently, paw pinning his rider into the snow by catching her at the abdomen. All in a moment the test became one of strength and as the private exerted all her might for escape, the wolf produced the adequate pressure to keep her captive.
Reading Jamie's mind as she curled to kick the back of the wolf's foreleg to try and have him lift it, he allowed momentum to test his rider this time as he removed his paw. With quick-thinking, Jamie reacted by landing with legs bent at the knees and slightly apart to work with her free hand to skid back to a halt.
Then, in the direction where voices were heard, an interesting sight caught her eye as she kept track of her surroundings: there was a wolf on the roof. The private then rose to upright poise, grace in her motions subconsciously adapting to a mode out of more battle-dominant circumstances, and allowed herself to be drawn to the sight. Then, shifting to take in more of the non-threatening scene, Jamie inclined her upper body forward slightly in a bow habitually with a polite smile in practiced greeting out of impulse upon the presence of wolves and humans becoming more concrete to her. "Hello," her greeting came with a respectful and steady tone.
Rainingwind followed his rider, watchful of her. Though her transitions of dominance from fighting machine to this poised mystery and vice versa were no longer unusual, he was still in the process of transitioning out of this habit since previous years of reacting in concern for the delicate yet eccentric yet capable and strong certainly mysterious human partner. Sound words, was Rainingwind's agreement to Firemoon's statement.

((Clarification: Iris is really more the confident, daring type, except in the situation of conversation/sociality. wink ))
Iris turned a very embarrassed, very attractive shade of pink as Domonique suddenly appeared...uncomfortably close. She threw a pleading look at her now-suddenly-best-friend Keahi before facing her admirers. "If you don't mind--" she said in as relaxed a voice as she could muster as she extricated herself from the redhead's "embrace," eyes averted towards the ground. In the process she stumbled--inwardly cursing her clumsiness--directly into Rayan.
Everything alright? Silversoul asked with a private smile. Though he was quite prepared to come roaring in if a man grew too forward with his bonded, he didn't see any harm in her learning to cope with flirting. Besides, it was an amusing spectacle. You do realize that these males are likely interested in...mating.
You are in so much trouble when this is over, she snapped. Meanwhile she quickly slid sideways, a safe distance from both men. "I would appreciate it if you'd respect my personal bubble." She was pulling herself together, as her bonded noted with pride. "Really, two grown men ought to understand the limits by now." And her overwhelming sense of justice was surfacing, he noted with a little less pleasure. Next she would be lecturing. With a wistful sigh of regret, he stood and paced casually into the gathering to stand squarely in front of Iris, back and agitated tail towards Rayan and Domonique. Behave yourself--be nice.

Calla shook her head and tutted at Dominique with hands on her hips. “But this point is I DIDN’T hit her. And I WOULDN’T hit her. Even you should know that any WolfRider should be able to locate people and creatures by sound. I knew exactly where you all were and I didn’t hit a single one of you.” Calla said, as if explaining an obvious answer to a stubborn child for the fourth time. She was honestly surprised they were getting so worked up about it NOW. It was so normal for her to be shooting at people and objects by now she found it slightly odd of them to be making a big deal out of it. Having considered herself suitably defended until Dom managed to come up with another argument of some sort, as she was sure he would, she returned her attention back to Rayan with a stern look on her face. “Now now Rayan. YOU of all people should know I’m not uptight.” Calla said, her own voice almost flirtatious in nature, “But we girls just have to stick up for each other.” She said, nonchalant as she leaned against the wall, arms crossed in front of her as Jamie came up to them. To Calla, Jamie was a puzzle that seriously needed solving, but Calla had yet to figure out how to go about this. “Hello Jamie. Good to see you as always.” She said with a nod as the girl approached, eying her cautiously.
WoodWhisp chuckled down at Glazed. “Where’s the fun if I give away the prize?” he said, almost tauntingly. Mostly he just wanted to see if they could get up here. It had taken him a bit to figure out a way through the maze of buildings to get up here. Then he realized that Glazed was attempting to flirt with him in a way and grinned wolfishly. “Ah, but what is a pretty lady if she has no brains to back it up? The same goes for any male of course.” He said, humble and yet boasting at the same time. Word play was always entertaining. Soon though FireMoon’s words had caught his attention. “How about we switch riders for a day? Maybe then you’ll realize that Calla isn’t so easy to control as you make it out to be.” He said tersely, almost offended that this wolf thought his rider to be such a simple person.

Domonique stood there open mouthed half offended and half amused at Iris' actions. He was sure he was protecting her from what he gathered to be quite an obvious threat, never once thinking he himself was the threat. Frowning as she tripped forward he reached out to grab her even though it was too late, she had already managed to correct herself. Opening his mouth to retort, Domonique found himself closing it again. "Sorry Iris..." He whispered hopping it was quiet enough only she could hear, purely because he wasn't able to keep his voice controlled with the proximity of Silversoul. Tuning out Calla as she spoke he nervously glanced at Glazedpaw.
Flicking her tail once again she smiled up at Woodwhisp. 'No I guess you would be right on that one woo-'. Her voice trailed off as she caught the under sent of Domonique's discomfort, both ears popped forward as she rose from her sitting position. 'Forgive me Woodwhisp, I shall have to take up your challenge at a later date.' Moving with almost blinding speed she was between Domonique and Silversoul in a matter of seconds. 'Get on.' She growled.
Ready to yell at himself for being an insensitive jerk, Domonique turned his appologetic glace on the attractive young girl, as he climbed upon Glazedpaw's back. Turning to look at Rayan he gave him a short salute before speaking as though nothing had fazed him. "Must be going now, though unfortunately I don't have the foggiest idea what it is like to be bonded to a clingy female." With that said the wolf and rider turned and headed the direction of their home.
There was a strange sense of weariness in his eyes, a disturbingly defeated air in the way his shoulders slumped just a little. As though he were carrying the weight of the world on his back---as though he were genuinely worried for a friend. 'What's was I thinking?' Domonique asked Glazedpaw quietly.
'You weren't.' Glazed mockingly spoke watching her rider slide off her back, and continue to walk the rest of the way now that they were out of sight from the other wolves and riders.
He narrowed his eyes as his face shot up in embarrassed color since the part that hurt was was his pride. “You could be a little more sympathetic,” he huffed as he turned on his heel to stalk away with as much dignity as he could muster. Unfortunately it wasn't much according to Glazedpaw, because at that moment he just looked like a girl throwing a self pity party.

"I just don't like to see people being harassed," Keahi told Rayan. "And you are someone to look out for." Hearing someone say hello, Keahi looked over to see Jamie and her wolf Rainingwind. Keahi just nodded in greeting, since most of her attention was on the men and Iris. When she turned back to Iris and that, she saw that Iris fell right into Rayan. Oh no, she thought, wondering what she should do. Iris is a wolfrider and should be able to handle herself. Keahi just doesn't like to do nothing when she can help. Though Keahi blinked at Dom reaction. Is he ok? she wonder as he and Glazedpaw went off.
Firemoon turn to look at Rainingwind. I'm glad that I'm not the only one who thinks that way. She said, sitting down. Lifting one front paw up, she started to look over her claws, as if she was making sure they were sharp enough. Woodwhisp, if I took on your rider for a day, then you might not get her back in one piece. Plus you need to start them young, and you can see how well of a job I did with Keahi. It wasn't until she was done talking did she look up at him. And will you get down already. It hurts my neck to look up.
