I will miss David Tennet so much, he is so good as the Doctor. I think the new actor will be good, but I have trouble thinking anyone will be able to compare to the current actor.

Everyone I think is a bit skeptical. Matt smith has some big shoes to fill. David Tennant pretty much set his standard. It will be hard for matt smith to be as good or better

Everyone thinks David Tennant is so good because he's their first Doctor, or the Doctor they see most often. I think he's annoying, compared to the other Doctors. I mean, he's hot, and his Doctor is a bit deep sometimes.. when he's not being whiny and loud.. but that doesn't make him the best, in my opinion.
When you're voicing your opinion, please say "In my opinion" or "I think" first so it doesn't sound like you're trying to state a fact. It gets annoying to the people who don't agree with you.
Now that that's out of my system.. who wants a banana? mrgreen

But David Tennant is my absolute favorite. I was comparing him to the other doctors (doctor who marathon after the episode of his regeneration) and he was definatly the bast doctor. Also, Matt Smith has some big shoes to fill. My sister (wh never watches doctor who with me) said, "That's the new doctor? I think he is too young. I mean, the other doctor, David Tennant or whaterer he is called, looks like a ferett, but he was pretty good" and that was coming from a non-doctor who watching person. But i dont think he will do too badly

Dr Who was a kids show that was canceled in in 1989 (1st to 7th Doctors). They tried a movie in 1996 which did not work(8th Doctor). The series was rebooted and relaunched in 2005 with Chris Eccleston as Doctor #9. When he left everyone was upset and said he was the best doctor ever, who is this new Tennant guy, he won't be any good and so on...
You have to just wait and see. We have to trust that Steven Moffat (the new producer who wrote the episodes Blink, The Library and so on) knows what he is doing. Besides, if Matt Smith is really bad, I mean REALLY bad, they will just kill him off by the end of the season and have him "regenerate" again for next year.
Besides, Matt Smith's new take on the Doctor looks a little more like the absent minded Professor type of character. Smart, but not very physical. It could be fun...

I saw a preview clip on youtube of him. He seems very Doctor 10 but he does put his own twist on it.

I just watched the episode: The Eleventh Hour and I think, if you watched the first 1/4 of the episode you wouldn't think it was Doctor Who but then he start to act like The Doctor and develope his own personality BUT its a pinch to immature for me.
But overall thats just the first episode and I think he might do fine.
P.S that is MY opinion
P.P.S David Tennant Is my Doctor and David Tennant Forever. heart

I have high confidence for the new guy. I think he's gonna do alright...
(But I'm not sure they'll ever find one quite like David Tennant ;3 )

I don't know about the new doctor. Initially I didn't like Tennant, but he grew on me. I liked it up to the end where they made the doctor all emo-ish. I think that I can learn to like this new doctor, and as far as younger goes, if you look at the first doctor who versus the next and the next he keeps getting younger with each time he takes on a new look. I really wouldn't be suprised if they do make him a very young adult before it's all said and done. I loved the "Eleventh Hour" Episode, which I think is the new episode. It was pretty amazing. I really like the writer they have now. I have high hopes for this new doctor.

Oh, I am definatly looking foreward to watching more DW,
This new guy is funny as *ahem* and the new tardis looks alright. There would be some design changes if I were in charge, but only minor changes, because I really think that this new season will be great!

I love the new TARDIS design! As to Matt Smith as the Doctor. He still seems very similar in a verbal fasion to 10 but I'm hoping he picks up his own identifying quirks as we go on.
