Siphons I love green party, but they just don't have a chance. I'd rather you vote democrat then waste it and help out overlord cheney sweatdrop . Honestly I do like greenparty the best, i'm just not an optimist. i understand. a lot of people don;t take the green party, or the enviroment in general seriously at all.

We need to spend more time and effort on educating people about these things!! Put the media to good use (pretty much everybody pays attention once their favorite singer/actor/actress goes eco). It's staggering how much the media affects us.

But We have 15 Members... maybe we can gather up donations? I mean if everyone Donates 10$ That's 150$ to the Green Party. Maybe we could organize something like that!

Wait....we have waaaaaaaaaay more than 15 members...but only a handful are actually active. xp But sure, that's an idea.

You can always register Independent! Of course, that means that you can't vote in primaries... I'm still debating what I'm going to do, but I really do need to register, before I turn 19, because that would just be embarassing. As to the whole "They don't have a chance" thing, I agree to a point, but I think it was Nader who said that he knew he didn't have a chance at actually winning, but by voting for something besides Democrat or Republican, we can work towards getting our governmental systems out of our two-party system, which causes a lot more problems than it solves. I'd ramble more, but I must go eat dinner.

My friends' uncle said that the green party's views were "let everyone do what ever they feel like doing", "to each his own" and what not. He said that it is dangerous to run a country that way.

I get it! Humans killed themselves off. It kind of scares me, I honestly can't deny that won't happen. See all of the trash littering the floor? My life goal is to deal with the trash problem and turn the waste into fuel. Nature is pro recycling you know, that is what makes it so ingenius.

i don't like using celeberties as an influence, even if it's soemthing i agree with. Peta does this and a gree with most of their ideas, but not how thye use celeberties as an influence. It's like "Paris Hilton is a vegetarian, you should be too. buy morningstar farms products.'
not their exact quote but that's basically how they do things.
actually i don't really like how peta does things at all.
well anyway, i think we need to tell people mor facts, and in the case of enviromental issues what we can do to help. A lot of people would love to help, but just don't know what do do besides recyling and the obvious things.

Which is why we have an entire sticky on this stuff. ^.^ Go see the "How You Can Help" sticky if you want to learn. There is also another thread sometime way back when that you can see that's about how people can help. There are absolutely TONS of ways and the one I particularly like is educating others to get more people to help! So do some research on some environmental things and tell everybody! Then tell them how they can make a difference and if they're decent enough people, they will give it a shot. 3nodding

I come from the UK and the Green Party is not massive here, but almost everybody has heard of it. I am a member of it and vote for Green Party Candidates whenever an election comes up.
I was never really into politics because Political parties seemed to be all very similar and none of them were that bothered by issues that concerned me. However I now believe the Green Party really is different, it has the best polices on the environment and Animal Rights, and I think it is growing in popularity.

A lot of people would love to help, but just don't know what do do besides recyling and the obvious things. Unfortunatly, a lot of people don't care, even when they find out the issues. I feel that a majority of society is shallow. I don't like that those tactics work well, but the best way to get out to a huge audience is through something considered popular, or creating a fad that knowingly or unknowingly promotes the cause you stand for. But that's self-defeating sometimes... 'Livestrong' bracelets became more of 'the cool thing to wear' than 'Oo. let's donate to cancer reaserch, it's a good thing.' The majority (of America, that is, don't know about others) doesn't like idealists or liberals anymore. It doesn't matter that our planet is obviously important- I honestly don't think they care beyond what the media throws at them. So what better way than through commercial media? You can do anything if you have charisma. (Apologies for cynisism.)
