Levin smiled and quickly followed Ka'da from the room, listening intently as the other male starting explaining what he would have to do. He wasn't used to working for such a high House, his own being rather low when it came to rankings. Hearing that he would have to wear one of Ka'da's uniforms though, he frowned to himself, not liking the idea of having to wear a lot of clothing. Usually he wore just a pair of pants, and walked around shirtless to proudly show off his body.
"That's fine, I don't mind wearing one of yours for now," he muttered quietly. When they arrived at the armory though, his jaw dropped and he took an unconscious step forwards. Never had he seen such a well-stocked weapons room. Every surface was covered in some sort of weaponry, from swords to staffs, from daggers to bows and arrows. "Wow," he breathed, wandering around the room directionlessly, his fingers moving over the gleaming weapons.
"You are very fortunate to be a member of such a great House," he said a little jealously though he tried very much to hide it. He didn't want Ka'da to think him someone who was extremely envious when it came to such matters. It was hard not to be jealous though when it came to what you had compared to others, which was practically nothing except a few family heirlooms such as his staff. Thinking of his staff though he sighed, for he had forgotten it at his temporary home.

Ka'da merely nodded his head in reply to Levin's muttered reply. He could tell by the other male's attire that Levin didn't really care for proper dress. Which was probably what had caught his Matron's attention. He rolled his eyes, trying to rid himself of the thought. It was enough of a chagrin to know that the other male was only slightly older than he was. The Matron's tastes were a bit much for him to have to deal with, let alone watch her make a fool of herself with a male only a fraction of her age.
Ka'da was slightly surprised to hear jealousy in Levin's tone as the male surveyed the armory. He stretched out his shoulders, trying not to show that he had noticed the other's reaction. He hated when the muscles of his back knotted up after a fight.
"Feel free to choose whatever weapons you are best with. They will be yours for the rest of the time you are working for the house. If the expedition goes well, they will be gifted to you at the end of the job." Ka'da replied, pulling a long sword from the wall, inspecting it and then handed it over to Levin. "Try this one out. It's a little heavier than most can handle, though I think it will fit you perfectly."

"Nice" he murmured appreciatively after hearing that he mite possibly get to keep his weapons if he did well on the job. He took the sword carefully from the other male's hands, then balanced it in his palm to see if it was level. It seemed level enough, so he grasped the hilt and swung it back and forth on each side of his body. The sword was heavy, but it wouldn't tire him out unless he was in a longer fight in which he would have to switch to his much lighter staff.
Thinking of his staff again, he remembered that he still had to retrieve it from his temporary living place. "This sword is very nice, your blacksmiths must be very talented," he remarked, setting the sword back down momentarily, and browsing the rest of the selection. Everything else was just as well-made as the sword, but nothing quite compared to how comfortable to had felt with it. In the end, he chose the weapon Ka'da had suggested, and slung it over his shoulder easily. "I like this one," he said cheerfully.

Ka'da watched Levin test out the balance of the sword and then swing it about a little to see how it felt in his hand. He could see instantly that he had been right, the sword was perfect for the other male. He however, didn't say anything knowing that Levin would have to make up his own mind about the sword.
He wasn't surprised when Leving commented about their blacksmiths being talented. The sword had been the most recently crafted weapon by a father son blacksmith team that he had recently hired for the House. His matron had been quite pleased with his choice and had said as much. The father and son had crafted several sacrificial daggers and staffs for her use in the House temple, of which she had enjoyed using.
"That they are. You can tell them that yourself if you'd like. They're probably not to busy if you'd like to meet them. Also..if there is any weapon that isn't here, you can have them craft it for you before the expedition leaves."
Ka'da smiled when Levin finally slung the sword over his shoulder. "Excellent choice. You won't really be required until late tomorrow morning. I will be required to watch the others being tested today of course and trained tomorrow. I figure, that once the rest are done, we can start our first session either tomorrow or later on tonight once you're rested up. If you have anything you want to retrieve feel free to do so today. Oh..and you'll be needing this." Ka'da abruptly turned to an enclosed case, opened it with a key from his pocket and pulled out an amulet with the House's insignia on it, and handed it over to Levin. "As long as you're wearing this, the guards will let you in when you return. Is there anything else that you would like answered?"

Taking the amulet from Ka'da he pulled it over his head and position it so that it was comfortable against his chest. "Not really, though I would like to know what the job will consist of. And speaking of weapons, I will need to retrieve my staff from where I am staying. This sword is great, but I'd feel much more comfortable if I had my staff with me as wel. It is not only a fine weapon, but it strengthens my magic exponentially." He smiled and motioned for Ka'da to follow him back to the hall where his interview had taken place.
"You can come to my quarters if you wish, perhaps meet my younger brother and sister if you'd like. My brother Evael is a Light Mage like myself, and my sister Nereida is a Shadow Mage, something none of us had expected after having two children inherit my father's gift." He didn't mention that his sister often used her gift against the both of them, as well was a little crazy. His brother was a very talented mage as well, but rather fickle and couldn't for the life of him keep a job longer then a week. Nevertheless, he loved both of them and would be proud to introduce them to his new employer, perhaps even get them jobs.
"Anyways, if it's alright with you, I would like to return after retrieving my staff, perhaps spend the night. I... don't like where I am staying," he said sounding a bit embarrassed. It was hard to admit that he really didn't have a home, but rather stayed at inns that were cheap and had enough room for three siblings to stay in. The three of them moved from place together hunting for work, and when one of them got a job that was where they would stay until it was time to move on again. He hoped that this particular job would be able to finance another couple of weeks at the inn. If not he would have to find work immediately after he was finished here.

Ka'da smiled faintly at the other male, running his left hand through his hair saying ruefully, "As would I. My matron hasn't been very forthcoming with all the particulars of the expedition. All she's said is that the wagon must reach it's destination intact. I have a spy trying to figure out what she will be sending in the wagon. When I learn something from him and if I feel I can trust you I will share the information.
I figured you would like the sword. I'm usually pretty good at figuring what weapons will suit a person. If the staff strengthens your magic than by all means retrieve it. Tomorrow, I'd like to see what exactly you can do with these abilities of yours."
Ka'dairihn followed Levin out of the training room, pausing only to give orders to one of the House soldiers to see that the other hired hands were tested before accepted in the ranks. Then caught up with Levin in a few minutes to catch what the other had to say.
For a moment he didn't know how to respond to Levin's offer. It was almost as if..he had been thinking of getting his siblings jobs on the expedition before he had been hired.
"I don't think the Matron would take to hiring a family..she tends to find such situations more trouble than they are worth. Though..if they are of exceptional skill and wouldn't mind taking orders from me, then perhaps we can work things out. If not...well I don't think I'd even bother with telling them about your job. They might get offended by your good fortune. It seems most siblings are that way..especially mine." Ka'da blew a stream of air in frustration.
He was rather surprised that Levin seemed embarrassed by the area he was staying. He figured it was probably in one of the worst parts of the Underdark..which would mean it wouldn't hurt if he were to go with Levin to make sure he got back in one piece. Though..Levin was pretty capable of taking care of himself in a fight..the throbbing of his body was evidence enough of that.
"As to joining you, I think I shall. I have been feeling cooped up lately and need some time outside in the Underdark. And that's perfectly understandable about not wanting to stay in the area you're in. Parts of the Underdark can be pretty abysmal."
The two of them left House Ja'lithur's property limits and disappeared down the streets of Llurth Dreir moments later.

"Ah, sounds like you don't like your siblings very much," he chuckled, trying to make small talk as they walked throught he lesser sections of the city. This was where the cheaper inns were located, so they hadn't had much choice about where they were going to stay. The particular inn they were staying in now didn't ask for the money up front, which was pretty naive, but asked for it when your time there was finished. That worked out quite well for him seeing that he had a meager supply of gold.
"Thankfully I'm the oldest, so my brother and sister pretty much do what I tell them to. Well Evael does, Nereida . . . well let's just say she's not all the way there." He laughed again, thinking of just how much she wasn't really there. A majority of the time it seemed like she was an empty husk, too much enveloped in the shadows to may much attention to the world around her. They often had to force her to eat and use the restroom, or else she would probably starve to death.
For a while he stayed silent until they reached the inn. It was rather shabby, with a few broken windows and a halfhazard sign labeling it as Ebrian's Inn. "Here we are, welcome to my palace!" he said sarcastically, rolling his eyes. He was careful to open the door carefully, the owner had warned him that it was barely hanging on, not having the time to replace the hinges. He climbed two flights of stairs and went down the long hall to the last room at the right. Pulling a key from his pocket, he had to jingle it this way and that just to get the door open.
Inside the main room were a few cushions that were probably nice a long time ago, but were now a rotting green color. There was one window, and there were three doors , one being the restroom the other two small bedrooms. Nereida had her own, and Evael and him shared the other. "It's not pretty, but its not like I'm here much anyway," he said shrugging, going towards his room. He peaked in Nereida's room where she was rocking back and forth on the floor, the shadows around her writhing like they were alive. "Hey Nerrie," he said not expecting an answer. He didn't get one. Stepping into his room, he was careful not to touch any of Evael's clothes that were thrown everywhere.
A few short moments later he emerged with a large black staff. It was roughly five feet long, and had a large crystal at the end that was tied down with gleaming silver wire. Down the shaft was intricate silver wiring in the shape of vines, often marked with a rune here or there. "It is my greatest possession, passed down for many generations in my family. The meaning of the runes has long been forgotten, but we think they mean strength, because as long as we touch it, our magic is much stronger." He shrugged again like it was no big deal, smiling a cocky smile.

"I really don't. They're all squabbling drama-infested females that's why." Ka'da replied rolling his eyes in annoyance. "Though...there is one that's quiet and stays out of all the drama. Though..she's also the one that betrayed me several years ago. It doesn't help that I'm the eldest, and a male. I'm the one that ends up waiting and doing every bidding of theirs, no matter how crazy or misguided it might be. For some reason the Matron finds it "amusing" to her. It drives me crazy."
Ka'da fell quiet after this, wondering if he had revealed too much about his family to the other male. Ka'da eyed Levin for a few moments, as they entered the lower rundown areas of the city. Though truthfully, in Llurth Dreir most of the city's residents lived in the rundown areas and survived off of a rather meager existence. He shuddered slightly, remembering one such excursion a few months back when he and the House Healer, Yallinda had been attacked in such an area. His thoughts and emotions heightened at the thought, though he struggled to keep them in check.
It was beginning to become annoying how easily the beautiful visage of the elegant and willowy female would spring into his thoughts and mind as of late. It was as though she had been implanted there and no manner of concentration and surgery would ever dig her out of him. Perhaps he really was...as his sisters claimed behind his back...he had fallen for the young female. Despite his struggle and unwillingness to have her in his thoughts, Ka'da didn't really want to rid himself of thinking of her. At least the thinking about her was safe. No one, save him actually knew that he was doing it. If he spoke of it, or wrote about it someone was due to discover it when he least expected of it.
He was freed of these thoughts when Levin spoke once more bringing him back to where he was and what he was doing.
"Being eldest does sometimes come as a benefit. Though..I personally would not know; despite having the same fortune as you. With having all sisters...I'm more..plaything to them then anything else. They strive on thinking up "tasks" for me to complete within a day or set time. If I fail...there are always sessions of discipline that follow. Thankfully...I have been able to fulfill most of these "tasks" that they require of me. I shudder to think what they might deal out to me should I ever fail on any of them now." Ka'da replied, trying to sound carefree but feeling as though a stone was tied around his neck. He always hated that feeling.
Ka'da wasn't too shocked when they came to a stop at a rather rundown inn that looked as though it would fall down at any sudden movement. He grinned politely at Levin's sarcastic exclamation and followed after him, making sure not to bump into any of the walls..lest the inn fall down on top of them. He really did not want to get buried alive with tons of rotten boards on top of him. It would take ages to fight one's way out of, since he was sure no one would ever come to his rescue in this area of town.
He followed up the stairs, treading lightly, grimacing as they creaked with the weight of the two large males on them. He made sure to stay to the sturdier side of the stairs..the left side, seeing they weren't as worn as the rest of the boards that made up the steps. The hallway was as horrible as the rest of the inn; though slightly worse since the smells from the rooms wafted into the hallway and mixed together creating a rather fetid and grimy taste in his mouth and nose as he walked down it. Oh..he would be glad when they left this place...indeed so.
Ka'da came to a stop behind Levin, as the other male struggled to unlock the door before he could get it open. He followed Levin into the room just so he could elude the smell from the hallway and was rather relieved to find this room in better condition than he had thought it would be. The air was rather dank, but with the musky smell it wasn't nearly as bad as his own rooms back at his House.
"It could be much worse, than this. At least it doesn't smell as bad as the rest of the place." Ka'da replied.
Ka'da remained in the main room, eyeing the cushions and the one window of the room. He frowned slightly when he heard Levin speak to someone, and tried to remember what Levin had told him before. "Ah..Nereida then." he said in a low tone to himself. It almost sounded to him that Levin had actual affection for his sister..that to Ka'da was a unheard of emotion. At least recently. There had been a time that he and his sister Min'hyvair had been pretty close...until the Matron had discovered that he had been teaching her how to fight.
One should never get involved in a female, especially if the Matron had certain plans for the female. Ka'da had learned that the hard way. He was once again pulled out of his thoughts when Levin returned, with a large black staff in his left hand.
Ka'da stared at it, eyes widening as Levin told him about it with a rather cocky smile on his face.
"Well..then it's good we came for it. It looks like it possesses great power to me. Is there anything else that you need to get or is that it? Before we head back to the House, would you care to get a drink, I'll buy." Ka'da offered, feeling rather drained from the whole day. A drink would certainly help ease his nerves and rid himself of the emotions that had been plaguing him off and on all day.

"Naw, this staff is all," he shrugged, peaking into his sister's room again quickly before leaving the run down room. He was extremely careful on the way down, knowing that at any moment the stairs were likely to colllapse in on themselves.
When they were finally outside, he sighed, happy that they wouldn't be going back there for some time. "I know a pretty good bar close by here. It's kinda dirty, but the liquor is good, so it makes due."
On the way there he stayed silent, his cyan eyes darting this way and that, always on the lookout for danger. His father had taught him well when it came to being a guard. From a young age he had been trained in both magic and skills with the sword and hand-to-hand combat. You never knew when it would be needed. Plus his mother had always been a gentle and fragile soul before she passed away, and it was an all day job watching over her.
"Here we are," he said standing in front of another shabby building that was a cross between a large hut and a house. Stepping inside, he pulled up a stool at the large counter, ordering himself a few shots. "Ah, the sweet nothingness that is alcohol," he sighed, swallowing down the liquid in one gulp.
He chugged back a few more after that, content when he could feel his rational mind slowly slipping away. Drinking had always been a favorite past time of his, and he had always been a bit of an alcoholic. With a sister who was crazy, a brother who was a manwhore, and two dead parents that had left them with nothing, it was hard not washing away your sorrows.
"Mmm, I luff this place," he said slurring his words, leaning back in his chair contentedly. Closing his eyes, he rested his hands on his bare stomach, fiddling with the white hair of his naval without really thinking about it.
Back at the house, Nereida could hear her brother come in and then leave, but she didn't say anything, continuing to rock back and forth, stairing blankly at the wall. Around her the shadows seemed to move like they hand minds of their own, caressing her body and the walls of the room like a gentle lover.
Cut him. Hurt him. Kill him.
She shook her head vigorously, thick tears trickling silently down her face. "No," she mumbled, "I can't! I won't!" She started shaking faster, burrying her face in her knees, the bells around her waist jangling loudly, letting out songs of misery.
Follow him. Follow him. Follow him!
At that she nodded, knowing she wouldn't be able to resist much longer. The shadows writhed around her body as she slowly moved to her feet, swaying slightly, not used to really standing up. She stumbled from the room and then the inn like a drunk, her cyan eyes blank and uncaring.
The shadows led her to a rundown bar, and she followed their instructions to hide in the nearby bushes, and to keep completely silent. "I'm listening!" she hissed, hoping the damn voices would shut up already.

Ka'dairihn was relieved when the other male didn't take long in gathering his staff and then rejoined him and accepted his offer of a drink.
"Oh I don't mind dirt, Just as long as the liquor is poured freely and tastes good that's all I really care about right now. I'd like to forget as much as I can of today," Ka'da replied..trying for the life of him to not bring up images of his Matron freely leering and flirting with the men that had been paraded in front of her. Such a sight was something he would rather not think on or remember ever again.
Ka'da fell silent as he followed after the other male, keeping himself alert and fully aware of everything that was going on around him. That was the way of the warrior. He was rather pleased to see that despite Levin's ready acceptance of the offered drink that he wasn't letting his guard down and was just as aware and prepared for what could happen should the two of them get jumped.
He relaxed slightly when Levin came to a stop in front of yet another run down shabby building. He followed after him into the building..glancing around the room to take assessment of those who were there. He was rather relieved to see that most of the patrons were well invested in their drinks and well animated conversations than to pay any mind to the two of them. He joined Levin at the counter, and ordered himself a draught of rum and settled next to him, gulping down a mouthful of the heady drink before he turned to smile at the other drow.
He could tell that Levin was trying to drink away his reasoning mind..he used to do that before he had learned it wasn't a smart thing to do. He didn't say anything about it, and just watched. The other drow would learn soon enough that drinking a lot wasn't a good idea..especially not with the training regime that was demanded of those employed by the House Ja'lithur.
"I can tell." Ka'da remarked slightly amused by the other's antics.

He knew he was making himself look stupid, so he set down his glass on the grimey counter, his cyan eyes darting around the room nervously. Even drunk he was always on the alert, his father teaching him since early childhood that it was a stupid thing to let one's guard down, even amongst people that you trusted.
All around him were other drunks and people of low class like himself, and he knew them all quite well, but even now he would never trust them with his life.
"Thanks for the drink," he said blinking tiredly, exhausted after the day's events. He had gotten up extremely early that morning for the interview at Ka'da's house, and had been waiting nervously in line for hours until his turn was up next. The interview had gone extremely well, the Matron taking quite an interest in him, something he had not at all expected.
Then the fight with the other male had taken place, and of course he had lost without using his magic. He was making an excuse for his incompetance, but his inebriated mind didn't really care at the moment, and let his thoughts drift wherever they wanted to go.
"Mmm, this was nice," he said stumbling to his feet, stretching his upper body until he could feel his back crack pleasureably, his skin taught over his well sculpted chest and abs. "We should probably head back now that we have my staff, I wouldn't want your Matron to worry, or to disappoint her on my first day."
At that stepped outside to wait for Ka'da to pay for their drinks, not liking that he had only a meager amount of money of his own. Ah well, hopefully after a long job it would help his family live for another couple of months before they needed to move again and find more work.
Out in the bushes Nereida was completely silent, her arms wrapped around her thin legs, her face buried in her knees, rocking back and forth silently. She didn't like that she was so compelled to follow and spy on her brother, it felt wrong.
He was the first of the family to get a nice-paying job, and here she was hiding in the bushes like some lunatic! Evael was nowhere to be seen, probably out screwing around with some other male no doubt. Levin was the responsible one, always watching over the two of them, always making sure that she ate and drank, and didn't soil herself.
It was hard for him, she knew, but it wasn't like she could help herself. Whereas her two older brothers were Lightweavers like their father, she was the complete opposite. Somewhere in the passing of genes something had gone terribly wrong, and her powers were erratic, always in control of her instead of the other way around.
Eveal and Levin had complete control over their abilities, but whenever she tried it went horribly. She could do small things like manipulate the darkness, but anything more she lost control. For now she stayed quietly in the bushes, having a silent conversation with herself in her head, waiting for further instructions.

Ka'dairihn was relieved when Levin's inebriated mind woke up and took into consideration how he must appear, and corrected himself. Though..Ka'da could have sworn that even before he stopped drinking that the other male was still alert enough and very aware of what was going on around him. Now that was interesting. A male that could be mindful and alert despite being drunk. This certainly was a fellow that Ka'da wanted to have around on the Venture the Matron was sending him on.
Ka'da had no doubt that the other hired mercenaries would spend most of their time drinking away their fears with strong drink out in the middle of the wilderness. At least..Levin could keep himself alert. That would definitely play out better for everything considered. While Ka'da disliked his Matron's actions he could see that she had picked quite a capable hand for him. He'd of course have to test it out..to make sure..but if Levin proved himself worthy, Ka'da had all intentions of having him as his second in command during the journey.
"My pleasure," Ka'da replied to Levin's thanks. "After all..you certainly deserve it after all." After speaking, Ka'da drained the last of the rum from his mug, feeling the slightly pleasant warm burning sensation run down his throat.
He was rather surprised when Levin stumbled to his feet seconds later and stretched himself out until his the bones in his spine cracked in response. Ah..so he was ready to go then? Ka'da grinned slightly at the other's words and tossed a few gold coins on the counter for the bar tender and ambled across the creaky slightly rotted floor to join Levin outside the bar.
"So then..are you in such a hurry to get back that you want to run the whole way there or do you want to take your time? I'm fine with whatever you wish to do."

Levin could still feel the liquid bubbling in his stomach, and it felt so sweet to just wash away his worries with spirits. For now he was content, his cyan eyes people watching mindlessly. There was a pretty female here, an attractive male there, but none of them caught his interest like Ka'da did.
Before now he had always been the biggest male, always the responsible one. With Ka'da, however, he felt . . . different. Not a bad different, but a good different. He felt like the two of them could relate, though they were on different side of the tracks.
For one they were almost the same size, something Levin found very enjoyable. Most of the men in his life had been very feminine, and had been quite lithe and graceful. That was nice, to feel in control in a relationship, but he had always craved for the roles to be reversed, for him to be taken care of for once. Did Ka'da have a female in his life? Well that was one thing he would have to find out.
He smiled when the other male joined him outside the bar, watching him from the corner of his eye. Without thinking he raised his arms behind his head, but groaned internally at all of the hair that was there. That was another thing that seperated him from most other Drow, the hair. Most were pretty much hairless besides their heads and above their eyes, but he had hair under his arms, on his stomach, his legs, above his . . . nevermind.
"Are you challenging me to a race?" he spoke finally, visibly grinning. "Well, I guess we could take our time, but where is the fun in that?" He chuckled loudly, holding his muscular stomach before finally calming down. "At the count of three then? One . . . Two . . . Three!" And he was off.
Nereida could hear someone come out of the bar, and very quietly, she peaked above the bushes, nearly gasping when she saw that it was her brother. Before she could make a sound, however, she shoved her fist in her mouth, biting down on her knuckles to keep herself quiet.
Completely silent, she peared around the bushes to continue watching him when another male came to his side. She was quite surprised to see that he was just as big as her mother, maybe a little slighter in the shoulders, but a giant compared to her ninety pounds nonetheless.
For a moment she just watched them, her cyan eyes that were so much like her brothers intently watching the two of them. She could barely hear what they were saying, but before she knew what was hapenning they both darted off like a bullet. "Dammit!" she growled, knowing she wouldn't be able to run that fast.
"Please work!" she begged herself, closing her eyes in concentration. With all of her mite, she accessed the part of her mind that had control of her powers, and gasped feeling the darkness close around her. Before anything could happen, she flung the shadows across the space, attaching herself to her brother's shadow.
When she could sense his shadow wherever it went, she sighed in pain, letting her power slip from her grasp before it could overwhelm her.
You little whelp!
She sighed hearing the familar voice in her head, not enjoying the sting she always felt when they were angry at her. For a few long moments she let herself rest, then finally followed after where she could feel the shadow was heading, stumbling like she was drunk.

Ka'dairihn smiled at the other's words, oh this would be fun..he mused. A race with an inebriated fellow drow. There was no doubt in his mind who would win..but Ka'da figured it would be a good way for the other to work of the alcohol that he had consumed earlier. Thus..a little exercise wouldn't be too much for him.
He waited as the other counted off, and then when Levin got to three..he pushed off and started off in a relaxed run. Racing wasn't about who was the fastest in the end but who had the most endurance. Though..despite it not being that much of a challenge for him..he rather liked the feel of air rushing past his body cooling him down as he ran slightly behind Levin.
Ah..it was a nice night after all. He closed his eyes for a moment..letting all his worries and concerns melt away with the sweat that escaped through his pores. Ah..this was definitely the thing he had needed to finish off the night. He opened his eyes..and then blinked not quite believing what he saw. Levin was nowhere in sight..He stopped running and peered around for a moment. Then he smiled..as he caught sight of Levin a few feet behind him and picked up where he had left off. It seemed the alcohol had managed to dull the senses and actions of the other enough that Ka'da was already in the lead. He pondered slowing down and giving the other more of a chance..but figured in time the alcohol would wear off and Levin would be at his heels soon enough.

Levin burped loudly as he ran, stifling laughter the entire way, even moreso when Ka'da passed him up out of nowhere. He was tipsy yes, but his competitive side got the best of him like it usually did and before he knew what he was doing, he sped up, his strides longer, his arms swinging heavily at his sides as he heaved, going faster and faster.
It wasn't long until he was neck and neck with the other male, his cyan eyes a sparkle with mischievous light. "Ah, I couldn't let you win that easily," he chuckled, a wry smile plastered on his face.
Far ahead he could see the House he had gone into earlier for the interview, and he sped up even more, feeling that for some reason he had to win no matter what. Winning was winning, whether it was by an inch, or by a mile. He was totally focused on the House ahead of them, not paying attention until the other male, not knowing who reached the place first, him or Ka'da.
Nereida sighed, not like having to be outside when there was so many people around. She would definitely prefer to be in her room by herself, letting the voices in her head converse and argue back and forth without interruption. They were always peaceful during those times, not now when they were angry at her for not following fast enough.
"Oh shut up, I'm hurrying," she muttered, not paying attention when the Drow around her looked at her like she was crazy. Crazy or not, however, none of the males dared look her in the eye lest they fall victim under her power. She liked the thought of that, having someone under her power for once, someone she could manipulate and control.
When she finally decided to look up, she could see the two males far ahead, but only because they were huge and in stark contrast against the tiny men and women around them. It didn't hurt that they were heading towards a gigantic House that was easily visible, the buildings around them nothing in comparison to this mansion. "Great, you want me to go there? Fine!"
