My character's name is Ulvira, and it means "Golden Destruction"
When I created her, I wanted to give her a short name, that when you said it, it sounded....powerful....>.>

Veldrin the Shadow Out of my three, all of them tend to live up to their names... Veldrin - Shadow Valagh - Dark Destruction Drizal - Unyielding Rage Wow, I didn't know that. I thought you based Veldrin's name off of a fighting style common to drow. Its called: "Kyone Veldrin." And this is what it basically does: All dark elves have the ability to create darkness as a spell-like ability, and while all of them learn how to use it to surprise, annoy, and separate foes, as few of them study the style kyone veldrin, which means "alert in the shadows." Students of this style can pinpoint the location of enemies in the middle of absolute darkness and strike them with amazing accuracy despite their effective blindness. Normally teams of specialists from this style and the luth alur style group together to form special attack teams, with the kyone veldrin fighting within the globes of darkness and the luth alur shooting to death any enemies that leave the darkness. D&D Feats: Alertness, Blind-Fight

As for my characters:
Sy, Lariexith, Briza, and Lithura.
Are mainly from my own creations. Sy was taken from my username and sounded like an assassin-type name. I guess it reminded me a lot like "sai." And after watching Carmen Electra I fell in love with it XDD.
Lithura comes from a story that came to me in a dream. So I coordinated most of the story into her biography in the profile.
Lariexith was another name I was making up. I'm really fond of L and A names. This name sounded drowish because of all the syllables so I just worked her into Undergaia.
And Briza, well all of you should be familiar with Briza Do'Urden. Sorry I wasn't too original with this character's name but I promise you. Tor'afin will be very interesting to Undergaia, Ulorbbath and all of those who inhabit it. wink

Actually, I got it from Baldur's Gate 2. Your character uses the name "Veldrin" as an alias in the Underdark. It's said to be a fairly common unisex name, and it does fit him quite well.
@Sy: I believe it was Briza Do'Urden...not Baenre. The Baenre daughters are Triel, Quenthel, Bladen'Kerst, Sos'Umptu and Vendes.

My name is actually a song title,I couldn't think of a good Drow name,so I just put the current song I was listening to in a translator and got my pc's name
Flamgra lil Faern - Burn the Witch (Yes a Queens of the Stoneage song) It was either that or Ussta Cha'kohk - My Curse (Killswitch engage lol) The second one sounds kinda cooler,BUT I didn't wanna have a name that rhymed with c**k LOL and if I was rp'ing in full drow with someone,it would just be confusing

My first name, Cyn’gus, is the drow pronunciation of a star constellation in the common tounge called "Chingus". It is used by mariners for navigation at night for a relative bearing on the direction of true north.
My maternal family name, Drathir’kyorli, means "which gazes upon the moon" in drow. Lastly, my paternal clan affiliation is with a small merchant clan named Tathomar.

hey, i like both of those! biggrin i just went with a softer-sounding variation of a german name, then picked a composite surname Edonil'Barra, which means Twilight Shadow. since Val chose his own Surname anyway after orchestrating his House's annihilation, i figured be flamboyant. =w=

i actually had not a clue about drow names or how i was going to make my charecter but i stumbled across a drow name generator wich was pretty accurate and one of the male names that popped up was namidar zauvirr (not sure if i spelled the last name correctly as i don't type it often) wiich translated means brilliant smith or something like that and using that name i managed to mold his entire story from that
although i may make another charecter so i can get a bit more house interaction or he may just up and leave the merc's after the story finishes
