Dear Journal,

Last night was a night to remember. When my superiors told me I could return home, I could never fathom what awaited me there. I had only expected to spend a marvelous evening with just the two of us, but instead of two, we became four! At first I thought I was seeing things. I work very hard, and the occasional stress-induced hallucination is normal, but what I saw was very much real. A tree and, what I've determined, to be a wisp of wind. I saw it first, the tree drifting just behind Dragon. Needless to say, I was very distressed! However, we soon discovered it meant no harm, and even had a friend who seems to have taken a liking to me! The tree seems to have taken a shine to Dragon in tandem. My dear one has dubbed his new friend "Leafy." Isn't that adorable? Dragon can be so cute sometimes! I, on the other hand, have thought over what to call my new friend for a long while now and have decided on "Rune" since his origins are as mysterious to me as the ancient runes. The night out was a rousing success, by the by, and I hope I'll be able to spend such time with my lover again soon.

As for our new friends, Rune has taken quite a liking to me it seems. The colorful breeze often hovers just above or in my hair, to conceal itself while I work. It's a cheerful thing, really. I've found out that it likes Leafy almost as much as I like Dragon! When we curl up to sleep at night, Rune and Leafy curl up together, hovering in their own little nest for the night. I wonder what their relationship really is? As much as they seem to enjoy each other, Leafy won't let me touch him at all. Whenever I try to investigate, he floats right out of my reach. I guess I shouldn't pry so much, after all, he did pick Dragon. It's all well and good though, as I'm just fine with looking at the writhing streaks of color that seem to investigate everything within reach - which is just about everything! Being incorporeal, it can get to every nook and cranny, especially as it has an indefinite shape so-far.

Rune seems to take special interest in something of mine that has been collecting dust for some time now. I have an old camera set of the highest quality that an old friend gave to me before he departed. I appreciate the gesture, but with my busy schedule I don't have time to use it! But the dust has been lifted away by the wind it seems, so I've decided to just let it be and investigate it. After all, what's the harm in it? I feel bad for not exposing Rune to as much as Dragon has. My office is the main environment it sees, and that space has very little of anything in it. The walls are stark white, and the only furniture is my desk, my examining table, my file cabinet, and a chair in the corner. For such a spacious room, it's very scarcely decorated I'm afraid. I don't have much of a knack with decorating, you see. Dragon, bless him, decorated our apartment - and that is the only reason that it looks as good as it does! Without his muse, I fear that I can be neglectful of decorating.

Besides the initial meeting, I've been very busy with Rune. In some coincidence, I met a girl who carries a companion of similar origin. Her name was Huian (see meeting rp below), if I remember correctly, and her friend seems to be black liquid of some sort...sentient black liquid that can speak to some degree (which I try to overlook. It isn't good to be hearing voices you know!). The girl wasn't overly friendly but Rune and the liquid seemed to get along swimmingly. I bought her lunch, after running into her, and she seemed to appreciate that. I hope we can meet again. Perhaps at the Halloween Party?

Speaking of! I need to get going to that. I really just meant to stop home and grab my costume - but this kind of sidetracked me... I know Dragon wants me to stay home and rest, but how can I pass up finding out more about Rune? I hope he isn't too mad - but we'll see soon enough! I'll write again soon. Take care and happy holliday!

- Raizen

Meeting! Huian and Sumi appear!

The Saturday afternoon found Huian lurking outside a hospital's blood lab, kneading her arm and frowning. Father had gotten it into his head again that Huian had some kind of /disorder/- which she didn't. Of course she didn't. Supernatural powers ran in the family and Gin-hul didn't think the family was weird. So she'd come in, gotten a blood test, and now she was stuck. Waiting. With a whining ink blot hanging from a belt loop in her pants.
"You..." bloodmiserypainanger??
"No. Shut the ******** up, Sumi."
Huian was not in a good mood.

Hematology was not Raizen's specialty. However, the staff had since been short handed and as his range touched (if only briefly) a great many things - he had been assigned to the blood lab corp and post-screen analysis crew. A pale manilla folder contained the information of his current project. Teenage girl exhbiting no aparent distress of symptoms, vitals having registered at normal specifications and no history of dissorders. At least not yet. Though he had it, even he had yet to fully screen the paperwork, which was not entirely his own fault. Every time he opened the folder, a small smudge of personified color that had grown rather attatched to its perch would leap forth and rustle the papers about - making them incomprehensible in such a state. A bit frustrated, he attempted to compose himself, if only for sake of appearance. The staf had not failed to notice the colored streak and remarked in hush tones as he strode down the corridor, again attempting a read into the results.
However, the wind was not to be so easily thwarted. As the manilla folder opened once more, this time the papers liberally scattered into the hall. Raizen cried out in dismay and pursued, only to, in his haste, literally run smack dab into a loitering patient. To make matters worse, this particular patient was the owner of said scattered records.

She had been in the middle of stepping over to a vending machine- five vials of blood, damnit, she was woozy and who could blame her? Then some a*****e ran into her while she was just innocently walking down the hall! Ugh. Instinctively, she lashed out, but since she'd fallen over she didn't get anywhere near his head. Or his body, even. "What the hell? Watch it!" Sumi keened as she slapped the floor with the hand holding his vial. It pinged lightly as if a quantity of black ink weren't occupying it. "Hey, the ******** are--" Huian got up on her knees, looking at the pages.
"Well," she said dryly, "Nice to know my cholesterol levels are pretty damn skippy." Quickly she gathered up the papers in her area and shoved them at the doctor. "Take the stupid things, I'm not ******** it, Sumi. He's not my cousin."
windcousin
She looked at the colored air, then at Sumi. "Not seeing a family resemblence here..."
windcousinNayelifirehappyluck?

Raizen was about himself almost as soon as he'd met floor. The man was not clumsy by any means, but this was not to say he had been entirely able to save face in the matter. He averted his gaze, taking the pages gratefully as he adressed the young woman. "I'm really sorry, Miss. Huian. I'm afraid your paperwork got a bit ahead of itself. Are you alright?" A quick glance confirmed he hadn't caused any serious harm and he returned to organizing what paper he could lay hands to on his side of the mess, back into the folder. "It isn't often our patients are out in the halls after giving that much blood. I'm sure me knocking you right over isn't helping your sense of equilibrium at the moment. Here." At this he pushed himself up, tucking away tghe file and offering his hand to her.
He was not anticipating his usually lofty companion to snake down the extended apendage, seeking out the similar energy.
The wind! Wind, who could contain it? Certainly no glass prison that seemed to contain his cousin - though, in light of his form, it would be difficult to transport otherwise.
Such vibrant and youthful energy the shifting colors possessed as they wound about the chain and vial, prodding, curious as to the glinting prism of glass. Had it the ability to speak, it would most certainly prattle ceaselessly in singsong whisper. Yet, so young he was there was little he could much do other than swirl around curiously, seeking what amusement there was to be had in this new thing.

What? Did he think she was some kind of weakling? She scoffed, standing up on her own- a little shakily, but under her own power, which was all that really mattered to Huian. "You gotta be kidding me. Do I look like a kid?" Her sleeve's wide cuff fluttered a little in the presence of the wind; irritated, she shook her unbandaged hand. The ink blot inside squeaked indignantly.
cousin!hellohellohello. Frantically, happily, Sumi pushed images and thoughts out to the spinning other. "Seek?"iseekdoyoualso? An image of a willow and a blood stain accompanied the emotions of 'searching'. meetyoumetyoufriends, cousin?

The image of the willow flashed back, if in rough texture. The wind had little practice with such things, so it was moreso a feeling than a solidified idea. Whatever it was - it was pleased and came through in a more gentle breeze carressing over the vial than a stiff wind.
He shook his head. The man had several members of his family that behaved in such a manner, so the girl's indignation didn't shock him. "Of course you don't. I just feel stupid for knocking you down is all. It was my way of apologizing, I suppose." He smiled at her, somewhat awkward but still pleasant. "I won't make the mistake of underestimating you, if that's what you mean. Your results show you're certainly not incapable of handling yourself. You take very good care of yourself, don't you?"

Huian's brow furrowed as if confused, then said sardonically, "That was a double negative." A pause, then: "You take good care of a box of matches, don't you?" With a toss of her short hair, she crossed her arms over her chest. "Can you just tell my paranoia-agent father that there's nothing wrong with me? Pft, my uncle can summon goddamn demons and he's worried about /me/?"
The ink gave a wordless cry of delight. windcousin!quicklearn.heretry... An image of Raizen came through the link. sendback?cousinwhatisname?

A blurred image came through, as if it had been a fragile chalk drawing scattered by the wind in jest. Colors bled into each other in signular granules, but at least it was as such that it could be made out to be a person of indiscriminable origin. No word but this time a thought, a nametag, with a somewhat legible script on it. "Raizen" If one were to very closely look and perhaps squint a bit.
Raizen shrugged in response. "Only if I keep the matchbox from getting wet, I suppose." Not the best answer, but the first that came to mind. He untucked the folder from his side and offered it to her. "Here. It isn't the official but a series of copies for your personal use. I'll contact your father and let him know you're healthy in a bit. First," he gestured to the vending machine. "You were going to get something to eat, I imagine. How about getting something more substantial? My treat."

She paused, considering... considering... With a shrug, she took the folder and flipped through it quickly, counting on her photographic memory to do what needed to be done. "Thanks. I guess." At the offer of food, she idly shook Sumi (eek!) and looked oddly at the doctor. "Sure, I guess. Can you get your windthing to be quiet? He's more incomprehensible than /Sumi/." They were so /loud/.
good! Sumi radiated pleasure. namesumi. A picture of the inkblot and vial came across. youname?

Several strange symbols came to mind in the terms of name. This time, the wind was capable of some vocal communications. Not words - but had not the wind ever howled before amidst the bare branches of moonlit foliage? The wind picked up faster and faster until it whistled through the chain. Rooooooooooooonnn it sounded. Rune, being his chosen title. The odd howling noise was all the little wind could manage though before settling down into a very quiest wisper, having exerted itself.
Raizen took note of the sudden stillness of the breeze he'd grown accustomed to and made note of how the colors seemed to have become pastel, soft in accordance to how little the wind blew now. "It seems it's complied without my interference as it were. I admit I don't know much about how to communicate with this sort of thing. I've only just gotten used to seeing it, let alone listening to it." He was rambling, and caught himself in the midst of it. The unpleasant feeling of his musings was shaken off and he began down the hall, towards the food court the hospital sported. "Come on, your pick as to what type of food we get. I'm interested in what you'll choose...and I'm hungry like a bear to boot."

"I've never been to this hospital before. Father's ******** retarded, he thinks if he sends me enough times to different doctors he'll find out what the hell's wrong with me." She followed, though she expended an unwise amount of energy to keep up, giving Raizen a flat, unamused look. "In case you're curious, there's /nothing/ wrong." So the guy couldn't hear the damn things? She envied him that one.
Rune. The shine in the ink seemed to form a smile. Runneeee. Sumi was happy; he'd found another Galatean cousin. tirednow?Rune The surface of the ink turned black and flat once more.

The wind did not reply, and simply settled down ontop of the glass vial. It would recover there until it could return to Raizen.
Fortunately for girl and wind, he slowed as they neared their destination and soon arrived. He slid into the plaza himself before holding open the door from the other side. "In here, and there's a great selection." He waited for her, and in so continued his response, "There isn't anything wrong with you, medically speaking, or psychologically as far as I can tell. You might think I'm bluffing - but to be perfectly honest, once you see a floating tree aparate in your living room and have a..wind..make a nest in your hair, you don't dismiss others so easily. That would be calling the kettle black, wouldn't it?"

"Yeah, sure." She slipped through the door and barely was his hand off the door before she kicked it closed. "Cept I can light s**t on fire with my mind." There. That was out; Huian looked around the room, the blond patch in her hair catching the light oddly in contrast to the deep blue-black. "What d'you normally get?" Oh, she wasn't asking to be polite. It was just that she didn't want to be saddled with eating /everything/ purchased, that'd be a chore and besides she hated people knowing her preferences.
Sumi formed new shapes with his highlights to amuse the wind, thinking that if the younger Galatean was tired because of him it would only be polite to make his rest more interesting.

"Just promise me you won't go setting people on fire out of spite and I'll be better at ease with it." Not that some people didn't deserve it, but the burn unit was already packed as it was. The thought caused him to chuckle audibly, though it probably shouldn't have. To her query he nodded towards a small pizza stall. "I'm afraid I have a weakness for pizza, as unhealthy as it is. They make wonderful potato pizza, among others."
The wind acknowledged the shaped by playfully catching the opposite end of the chain and blowing just enough for it to move back and forth at leisurely pace. He liked this new cousin! When he grew to greater stamina, he woukld surely repay the thoughtful gesture.

"Fine," she said with a nonchalant shrug. "Let's get that." Really, all she'd intended to get was a soda- sugary and calorie-infused, she couldn't help but want it. "Thanks, I guess."
Sumi's surface rippled, his version of a chuckle. "Smart cousin," he said.

Raizen nodded and departed briefly to the stand, ordering his usual and a selection for his company. It was fortunate he was an employee of the facility, as thus it gave him full range of their promotions. Once secured with it, he returned and offered her a ticket, whilst he turned to go secure his own meal. "Take that up and she'll give you whatever you feel like. I already paid for a drink and some chips with it if you want them." He made to go off again but paused and turned towards her again, "Oh, and you're quite welcome! I'll be at the nearest table to the stall when you've got your food." And then he turned back to approach the stall and get the means to their delicious end.

She took a moment to focus; a sudden influx of emotion, no matter how much she didn't /care/, was distracting in the worst way. Damnit, she didn't care that person x (the cashier he'd spoken to) was getting divorced. Peripheral information; it didn't matter to her. "Thanks," she muttered again, tone short with vague irritation as she followed, again. Huian's scowl was quite irritated. She absolutely despised following people.
Then she smirked, admitting defeat. Well, she'd get him back. Right now, she guessed it was okay...

Second encounter - dyeing the wind!

Another Saturday, another doctor's appointment. This time it was something or other cardio-something, and the examining doctor was late, and Huian was bored. The three variables added up to only one thing- a certain patient taking out a book of matches and examining it. Huian knew what she would do with it; the same she always did. Learning her limits was fun, even educational. She sighed, flipping it open.
"Bad idea" said Sumi. "Doctor won't like."
She ripped out a match and struck it, smelling the ozone as it burned with a look of pleasure on her face. In Japanese, she said, "When I want to know what you think, I'll tell you, okay, Sumi-tan?" Without a change in expression, she held the match to her burned fingers. Nothing changed; light just played more closely around her fingers. "Besides. Looks like he's going to be late."
"Bad idea!"

It was one thing to be fashionably late and another to being dead late. Unfortunately for Raizen it was not the latter case. As quickly as a power-walk could transport him, he ducked in and out of the way of patients and staff alike. The reason for his haste? Simply the lack of time he'd been given notice and the identity of the patient. It was none other than the girl he'd once treated to lunch. He was pleased she'd come back his way and was eager to see how she'd been getting on. Even the wind seemed agitated and riled today and caused a stiff cage of air to circulate around the doctor, causing many loose objects to be rattled and shooed away in its wake. After all - it wasn't every day that the duo of similar fate visited! So hurry they did down the corridor until he reached the correct examination room

A moment to compose himself, and then he entered...only to lose all composure.

The first thing he spotted was the fire. Fire? Why in the world would she be lighting up in here? Not a cigarrette, but her own flesh! The girl had been skittish around him and had even bordered paranoid of his thoughts - but this was the singular moment that the word 'stupid' ever had come to mind. The blood seemed to sear and roil within him, anger seething just below the surface. Raizen strode over quickly and quietly, and then, drawing back his hand, made to slap the girl hard across the face. His other hand reached forward to make a grab at the hand that held the fire. It was not in his nature to yell, but this was a fine and rare example of what matter of temper the man possessed. "What in the name of al lthe gods do you think you're doing?!! Of all the stupid, irresponsible, SELFISH things I've ever seen - I'd never expected someone like you to be capable of an epic example of pure idiocy!!! Honestly..."

The wind did not like this new feeling. His guardian felt like anger and that was enough to send the young gale into a panicked dash away from him to seek shelter in the shadow of a very nearby comfort. The ink cousin! The wind blasted away from his perch, sending a fierce blast of air with it as it tore away and then wrapped tight around the glass prism. Scattered images of fear, sadness, and confusion flowed forth from it, begging explination before it could be overloaded with more emotional imput from its source.

Automatically she dropped the match with a small, sharp cry; it had been almost out, so nothing else caught fire. In fact, her hand appeared to be no worse than before. For a moment, she was quiet. She didn't bother to look back at him and just stared where his slap had brought her face. A bright red print was already showing on her pale skin, and it looked like it hurt. It looked like the burns on her wrist, clearly days old, were causing her pain too. Still, she twisted in his grasp so her skin made contact with his; the left hand, the one she had been trying to set aflame, seemed superheated. Huian's nails dug into his wrists."Testing my /limits/," she shouted right back, standing up so her face was within inches of his. "I can't catch fire, you moron!" Then she jerked free, scrambling to quickly put the chair between them. "Slap me again, and I'll kill you," she took another few steps back, but there was a dangerous cant to her head and a slightly crazed look in the dark gray eyes.
Astonished by the events, Sumi could only chatter the same words over and over at his young cousin. "Safenothurtseenothurtsafesafesafestaystaywithme." He swirled within the diamond, creating a maelstrom rather than entertaining faces as he once had. "Don't be afraid."

The grip he had on her only tightened. He jerked the site of the previous burns. "THIS certainly says differently!! And you will do NO such thing, for if you so much as LOOK as though you're going to summon that fire again, so help me, I will bruise your pretty white hide to MATCH your abuse!" A look of disgust crossed his feature as he savagely flung her wrist back at her. "You ought to be grateful you have a sound body of which to speak you simpering little whelp! Would you like to see the patients in the ICU? They would kill to have a healthy body! They would thrust their disease ridden nails into your very flesh and rip it from you if they were able! And do you appreciate that? Appartently not, for here you are, burning the living s**t out of yourself over some doubtlessly childish reason! Testing your limits indeed..." For a moment he contemplated it before seeming to catch his second wind, drawing very near to her with eyes smouldering in their evident distate. "If I EVER see you set flame to yourself, again, I will make you wish you were the freak of nature your father worries about. Your a** would be flung so hard into the psyc ward that a lobotomy would be WELCOME respite from the treatment you'd receive from them. DO YOU HEAR ME?! You think what you've done sofar has been bad?! You, LITTLE GIRL, have no idea just how much your limits would be cursed for what you'll endure if I'm given any reason to believe you're burning yourself again."

Huian didn't wince. Her look became steely- but something seemed to glimmer in the corners of her eyes. (For a moment, Sumi wondered if she was going to cry. But no. She never cried.) "I've seen the patients in the ICU," she said, tone absolutely and terrifyingly flat compared to the raised notes of before. She dealt with people like this every day- her mother and father, for some. This was what she expected from people, and now that he'd gone and revealed his true colors she felt much better about what she wanted to do to Raizen. Her mind was completely open at this point, looking for distraction from her own turmoil anywhere it could. Unfortunately, it seemed like she'd become the same dark, whirling maelstrom as her ink splotch. Even now she could sense him, a tiny mote of calmness with the faint bitter aftertaste of fear and concern. It just accentuated the taste her own darkness. Doubling over, she gagged, but brought up nothing. "You son of a b***h," she muttered, feeling hot tears prickling at the corner of her eyes. Her vehemence returned, full-force, and she said, still with no inflection, "You think I'm scared of you? Ha! I've been through so many doctors and psychologists I doubt anything they can throw at me would do anything except piss me off even more."

The slightest play of light caught his attention? Tears? The man felt justified for a moment. It sometimes did good to strike the fear of the gods into a young person to make them understand matters. However, rather than the general sob of realization in their wrongdoing or even whimpering whine of utter stupidity - this was different. He raised a brow, observing her. For a moment she seemed to retch but to no avail. There was no relief in it, only bitter indignation.

Perhaps...no....

Raizen blinked, the angry scowl softening and then melting. He relented at the tears and approached her. The addrenaline of the moment still caused him to be a bit sharp in tone, but at least he was no longer yelling. "I don't need you to fear me, or want you to. So do shut up, and come here." At which point he (despite the instinct for self preservation yelling 'NO!') moved in and made to hug her close. It wasn't so much sympathetic, but fierce and protective - much akin to a father bear. He looked down at her, half-smiling. "You, dear, have more guts than most I've met. Don't ever lose that."

She made to shove him away, but his hug caught her hands in an awkward position; even if she tried to move, her arms were trapped by the angle. Realizing that, at least at that moment, she'd been outmanuvered, she gave up on thoughts of revenge- for the moment- and just set her head against Rai's chest. Damnit, she couldn't even move an arm far enough to wipe her face! Far from making her decide that he was a friend, someone who could be trusted, it just made her feel more humiliated. Huian bit her lip and shut up- but she wouldn't let this go. Damnit!
Sumi, though, sensed this through the rapport that had been growing between guardian and Galatean due to Huian's unique abilities. "Bad idea," confided he to Rune. Likecorneredbearstrikesanything. "Not safe."

Rai held her for a few more seconds before releasing her and stepping away, straightening himself up. "*Ahem* Anyways, you were here for an appointment, not a lecture. Take a few minutes to get your heart-rate back down and wipe your eyes and we'll begin." Once his coat was straight again, he looked at her. "..Would you like something to drink? I shouldn't have slapped you like that, it's the least I can do to get you something. Not that it'd make it up, but it's a start, don't you think?"

The wind, who had since been hiding, whispered softly to the ink in the form of a breeze. Curious emotions, quiet emotion now that the fight seemed to have settled, granted the wind was still too young to realize there was more lurking just beneath the veil of the quiet.

Holding the hem of her hoodie's sleeve in one hand, she wiped it savagely across her face. Her gaze stayed stonily towards the floor, which she found was carpeted in an unattractive blue-gray berber. "I'm fine," she muttered, climbing back over the chair to perch in it. The best revenge was served cold, and damnit. It'd have to fit... this b*****d had almost fooled her. HER! Trusting in her multilingual talents to keep her thoughts secret, she began to talk to herself in a waterfall of Chinese, Korean, and Japanese- it came easily, yet would have been comprehensible to any native speaker of the three. Her tone was so carefully blank still, like she'd distanced herself... but inside, the maelstrom still raged, and her face (hidden by the sleeve of her hoodie) was contorted in an ugly scowl.

Sumi was not fooled, but did the best he could to make the wind happy. youprettycolors.greenisonlycolor?

The wind sent back a yes in the form of a possitive sort of feeling. It hadn't any other colors now...when it had not been sentient, perhaps, but now it was but a simple green wave of translucent winding around the vial.

There wasn't any use in pestering her further. Raizen sighed, compliant with her decision and gave her some space for a bit. In the meantime, he gathered his instruments and information, trying to make small talk. "I didn't know you were so fluent with various languages. I'm afraid I'm not talented with that sort of thing at all. Where did you learn it?"

yesverygreen."Let's dyeing you." With concentrated effort, Sumi popped the cap of his container. Being nothing but an opal stud attached to cork, the thing came out easily, but for ink it was quite difficult. Then, much quicker, he flowed out of the vial and pooled on the countertop. rushthroughmaybecolor.
"At home," she said flatly, interrupting the flow for just a moment. "It was easy."

The wind complied, dashing too and fro around and through and in the ink until it feared it'd be too much and thus hovered nearby. It couldn't see itself... it projected the feeling of bright, hoping it had picked up some color.

Rai nodded, turning back to her with stethescope in hand. "Do you know any other languages? And if you're ready, we can start..."

Sumi formed the smile again. green-graynow, he vocalized, sending the other Galatean the impression of color as he saw it. youlike?
"If that's what you wanna do," she muttered. "I'm learning French and Gaelic." Best to keep him off guard. If he thought she'd forgiven him... The odd blonde patch in her hair glinted a little as she tossed her head. Her long bangs flipped back to join the rest of her hair as she unfolded a little, unwilling to let someone she didn't trust near her.

Raizen moved in closer, offering her the end of the stethoscope. He didn't feel justified in asking her to lift up her shirt for him to place it himself, though it was a platonic movement. Thus, he gave her the option of situating it herself. "Here, and yes, I do want to assure your health is sound, dear. Just place this over your heart so I can get a general idea of what rhythm you have." His first concern was her health after all - though some qualms still surfaced as to knowing her better than the usual nameless patient he treated.

The wind was much more friendly than its guardian in the regard of touch. The wisp dashed about in exhiliration, overjoyed at its new color! To express this, images of dandelion seeds being tossed over sunny fields, rushing, brief, fleeting, and scattered about in color and form appeared. The young sentient was still just learning to form picture and as such could project only bits at a time. The message of appreciation was clear as it lowered itself to hover just below the ink, gazing up with the wide, profoud awe of a child who knew too much but could speak so little of it all.

Huian rolled her eyes and took the piece, examining it for a moment before sliding it under her shirt to the correct place. The beat was steady, but fast, more like she'd just finished running a mile than anything. Despite that, she seemed to be fresh as a daisy- unaffected by the preternatural beat.

With a laugh, Sumi splashed over his wind-cousin again. The expended parts of his body flew back up, still as smooth as the day he'd first puddled on Huian's desk. Happy wind-cousin, he sent, the reflected light smiling down at the younger Galatean.

This time the wind made effort to mimic the scene, trying to get a better feel for any vocal, or image, patterns. It came across moreso as streaks of light yellow bouncing off the wind than a reflection of the sun as was intended.

Rai analyzed the sound carefully, assuring no arrythmias or gallops were present. All seemed well and fine, save for the advanced pacing - but this was only a mild concern, so he only made note of it for documentation's sake. He nodded once he'd gotten it. "Alright, now onto the back, move it just at the beginning of the left lung meeting the spine."

She stretched, arching her back elegantly so she could do as instructed. It sounded basically the same, though at that position her breath was audible too. "What exactly are you looking for, anyway," she muttered, tugging on her collar with the free hand.

Sumi laughed, cleaning up the image and sending it back. This how it is done. Then he sent the stages of putting an image together, first the shapes then the colors and then emotions associated with it. See, wind-cousin? Another smile.

"Any abnormalities that could pose a problem in the future. Sofar, your valves appear intact and functioning properly. You have no arrythmias, murmurs, or gallops that I can hear. Your rate is a bit fast, but that's understandable and shouldn't cause any side-effects other than, perhaps, anxiousness."

The wind swayed and then projected a puzzle sorted bit of shapes that looked like the ink's vial. Did he do well? He quivered anxiously, like a pulsing gale through a tight space.

Sumi cleaned it up just a little and sent it back. Almost there, he assured Rune. Give it another try.

"Whatever that means." Without waiting for instructions, she returned to her slouch and dropped the endpiece of the stethoscope.

Raizen pulled the mechanism free and gently took to her wrist, placing his fingertips on the radial and ulna pulse points to assure her circulation was properly..well...circulating. "Any tenderness here?"

The second attempt fared better. Rune conjured up a picture of a camera, old and forgotten. It was a nice looking thing with all the bells and whistles of its age - albeit some time ago and now obsolete. The emotion came across as fondness for it.

Dear Journal,

Today I sat at the edge of the roof of our beloved Karai memorial and stared over the city as midday broke. The wind was pleasantly frigid and bore the husks of leaves fallen months before. My little breeze danced wildly among those sprites of red and golden brown, caressing them one by one before shooting them away into the sheer nothingness of space. A phantom scent of ice and cider filled my senses as they blew past me, light capturing the dew that scattered from them as the breeze turned the drops to the sunlight like perfectly round diamonds. They've already started to form into snow, and pure drifts of it litter the ground far below me. A few errant flurries are stirred up as the wind swoops down and cuts up sharply at their peaks, gentle but like that of a child - unable to contain the joy.

I think it will be a beautiful winter, journal. The snow and the wind will play, and I will write again soon when I have more to say.

Until then,

-Raizen
