My absolute biggest painting project to date... I don't know how many hours are invested in this, but I loved how it turned out...

You have a nice gallery! I've enjoyed browsing through it. This one though is like collage and reminds me a little of Piet Mondrian for some of the geometric shapes used. The woman seems to be very much like the flower below her reaching for the sun. I like how her face is not socially recognizable it makes the implied movement more the focus than us trying to figure out who she is.

Thanks, hon. This might be the nicest things anyone's ever said about one of my pieces. You totally made my day!

Great work on that. It's a very nice piece, and really interesting also.

Wow, that's really pretty. Reminds me of this creepy old barn that was a ways down from my parents' house when I was a kid.

Thank you. I appreciate it. I've been told the female figure is much too distracting for the piece on a whole and that this needs tweaking, but I'm not sure what to do with it to be honest.

You could try putting the female figure on the left side for more balance or maybe the middle. It would kind of remind me of an American Gothic then haha. It could be Haunted American Gothic although there really isn't any gothic in there you would have to add those elements in. It reminds me of Silent Hill or better yet Seven.

Your work is (as always) stunning hon. I'm so jealous of the Neuvo. Okay, so I'm exhausted and I can't spell.... yeesh... But yeah, I've just never gotten the hang of it. Great coloring too!

Still waiting for my duck in the hallway.... I even posted some public domain links for photos so you can't get griped at over stock images... lol!

Thanks Lyssa. That means a lot. Sorry so long replying... I've not been doing anything and just haven't been around... Hope you're back soon, too.

Title: Cemetery Tree
Medium : Mixed

I spelled Cemetery wrong on the piece tag, but I'm not fixing it. Just point and laugh.... Or bask in my laziness. Whatever. biggrin

Ditto, I'd hang that up on my wall! Could you explain more on how you made this particular piece? You have some interesting textures in there.

Thanks, you two. (As always!!)

Vasalisa- This started as a snap-shot that I took at one of our regional cemeteries... Just shot through the window of a car, so really not that impressive. I did some fiters on the snap and also some matte sketching (Just digitally painting/sketching right on top of the photo) and took THAT image and faded it into a stained paper texture... Tweaked the colors a bit, until I got it where I thought it looked okay.

I fiddle with crap so much and the things I do are so hit and miss that it's sometimes hard to remember what all I did by the time I get done. I dunno. I hope this helps give a general IDEA, anyway.
