Saspra watched as Shadow was hit by the ground attack. Now that the confusion was over things would get a whole lot harder. "Shadow, use Tail Whip!" She ordered Shadow.
Shadow stood dazzled for a moment then ran over to Nine and whacked his tail at her face. After making note that he actually did something he hoped away as fast as he could trying to avoid her upcoming attack.

"We're doing stat moves now are we?" Luna asked with a chuckle. This was a perfect opportunity to get Nine to use THAT move. "Okay then, Nine, let's show them a captivate attack!"
The ninetales gave a nod just before jumping away from a jolt of electricity a tower sent at her. She then walked infront of Shadow elegantly with her full charm and rubbed a tail under Shadow's chin to captivate the younger vulpix into losing his will to attack.
Meanwhile, Luna was breaking out in a gigglefit at her side of the field. Nine using captivate attack...it was so very amusing for her to see her ninetales act like that.

Saspra laughed a little. "Not anymore we're not." It was clear that her fire moves weren't going to do much in this battle. The only move she could depend on was confuse ray. Too bad it usually missed. "Shadow, use Confuse Ray!" She ordered.
Shadow stood dazed for a moment after she had done that. He shook his head a little and growled at her. Wishing to do an attack that would actually hurt he let out a shining white blob. This move was starting to get on his nerves.

After one last giggle, Luna focused on the battle again. Nine gave a small devious smirk at Shadow's temporarily dazed state. But both knew that they needed to do their next move as soon as possible, especially since Saspra just called out her next attack: another confuse ray. "Nine, dig!"
The ninetales quickly pawed the ground and burried into the ground, completely blocking the confuse ray because the ball of light could not reach her face into the hole - it was blocked by her body. Nine did not slow in her digging, after a few seconds of being submurged in dirt, she broke the ground under Shadow.

Saspra narrowed her eyes as the attack hit. Shadow's HP was going down fast so the only move to use would be Confuse Ray... But, that attack seemed to always miss. Saspra sighed. they'd have to give it another go before giving into using another attack. "Shadow use Confuse Ray one more time!"
Shadow sent a look full of resentment at Saspra. He wanted to use an attack that would do damage. Not confuse. Turning back to Nine he narrowed his eyes and fired another glowing ball at her.

Luna concluded that confusion was a pain in the a** when Nine wobbled from glancing at the glowing ball. The battle wasn't funny at all now, it was pure seriousness.
The trainer knew her pokemon was trying so hard not to let her inability to stop her vision from shaking, but it was pretty apparent. She knew that the next few moves were going to be quite difficult. But they would continue their attack.
"Nine! Earthquake again!"
Earthquake had a nice range - it needed much less accuracy then dig. Nine heard the command and focused all her attention to carefully lift a paw up and strike it down into the ground to cause a shockwave on the ground around her.

Shadow jumped and narrowly avoided the attack. He stood a little ways away from her with his fur slightly ruffled. He waited for Saspra's next command.
Saspra bit her lip a little. They should probably use a move different from Flamethrower considering that move only did limited damage on Nine. "Shadow use Bite!" She ordered.
Shadow jumped toward Nine opening his mouth, trying to bite one of her nine tails.

Although Nine had screwed up on her attack, Luna was glad that the pokemon did not hurt itself. The Ninetales even managed to temporarily regain enough focus to jump out of the way from the vulpix's bite attack.
They were standing their ground, good.
"Okay! Let's try this one more time! Earthquake!"
Both the trainer and the ninetales prayed that the affects of confusion could be pushed down at that one moment to allow their attack to go through. They just needed some luck and willpower which the ninetales had plenty of. Nine let out a menancing growl as she stomped her foot onto the base of a pillar again to send off shockwaves throught the field.

Shadow jumped as the earthquake started, but he had jumped too late and was promptly hit on his side by flying debris.
Saspra groaned as Shadow was hit. Things were going for the worse for them. She was gonna have Shadow bite again, and hopefully this time it would actually hit its mark. "Shadow, use Bite again!"
Shadow quickly recovered from that last earthquake and he started running towards Nine, this time he was determined to hit.

Nine managed to gather enough of her power to harden one of her tails with a brief iron tail attack (this is not the attack I'm using against you, just using it to RP defend) and stick it infront of Shadow's mouth to clamp on. The metallic coating on her tail managed to reduce the force of the attack by a lot.
Then, without even needing to be told, she slammed the tail Shadow had bitten on onto the ground as another variation of her earthquake attack - using Shadow's actual body instead of her paws to create tremors along the hot fiery pillars.
((The attack I'm using is earthquake by the way xD;; )

Shadow was slightly baffled as the taste of iron entered his mouth as Nine coated her tail with iron to reduce the damage as much as possible. He shook his head and spat at the ground when he noticed Nine's tail slamming down. He followed his instincts and jumped out of the way before the attack could hit him. That wasn't the best move though, as he landed, the slight shaking of the ground caused him to land ungracefully on his behind.
Shadow jumped up as soon as he hit the ground and charged at Nine with his jaws bared in another bite attack, sure it might not have been what his trainer wanted, but it was the most effective move at the moment.

"Darn! AGAIN!" Luna ordered, knowing that Nine could pull off the move. She just had to concentrate.
Nine squinted her eyes to force the split image of two vulpix to merge together once more and provide her a semi clear image of what was going on. Using a fortified tail to block once again, Nine let out a loud howl of concentration as she slammed her other tails onto the ground to cause the earth to tremble with her earth quake attack.
